The Raine Group's summer 2028 internship is open now. The 2028 Summer Analyst (New York) posting is live on Raine's job board, and the board's own record shows it was created on September 10, 2026, about 21 months before the internship starts. It was still live when we checked on November 1, 2026. In plain words: you apply during 2026 as a sophomore, you intern in summer 2028.
The posting is unusually specific for a boutique. It's a 10-week program in New York City, it's for students graduating between December 2028 and June 2029, and it lists an NYC base salary range of $120,000, which is an annual rate, not what you earn in 10 weeks. It states no deadline. If you're a junior hoping for summer 2027, that posting came down months ago.
What Is a Raine Group Internship?
A Raine Group internship is a 10-week Summer Analyst program in New York City at The Raine Group, a merchant bank founded in 2009. The firm describes itself as "a leading global merchant bank with an integrated focus on both advisory and principal investments in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors." That mix matters for interns: the posting says summer analysts work as "fully integrated members of deal teams, executing advisory and principal investing opportunities," after a training program. The listed work is "business, financial, accounting and industry diligence, financial modeling / valuation, transaction structuring and project management." Raine has about 200 professionals, headquarters in New York and offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Barcelona, London, Mumbai, Shanghai and Singapore. Its website puts its investing assets at approximately $2.8 billion, focused on sports, content, music and gaming. The firm doesn't publish class size or a return-offer rate.

When Do Raine Group Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Raine's calendar has been steady for three cycles. The recruiting tracker Adventis dates the firm's first summer 2026 posting to October 2024, its summer 2027 posting to October 2025 and its summer 2028 posting to September 2026. Archived copies of Raine's own board agree: it was empty in August 2025, carried the summer 2027 posting by mid-November 2025, and had dropped it by late May 2026. The summer 2028 posting was created on September 10, 2026, so the lead time is roughly 20 to 21 months. Because the pattern has held, our estimate for summer 2029 is that applications open around September to October 2027.
Applications for summer 2028 are open right now in New York. The posting has been up since September and states no deadline. Summer 2027 is closed.
First rounds and superdays for summer 2028 are expected. For summer 2027, candidates reported first-round interviews in January 2026, about three months after that posting went up (community-reported).
Based on prior cycles, the summer 2028 posting likely comes down. The summer 2026 posting was gone by mid-February 2025 and the summer 2027 posting by late May 2026.
Applications for summer 2029 are expected to open, following the September and October pattern of the last three cycles. Watch the board from late August 2027.
The 10-week Summer Analyst program in New York City, starting with a training program. Raine says it aims to hire full-time analysts from the summer class.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Raine gives you no closing date, which is the reason to move early. The summer 2028 posting states no deadline, and it's the only US internship posting the firm has. Past cycles show how fast the process runs once it starts. For summer 2027 the posting went up around October 2025, and candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe first-round interviews in January 2026 (community-reported). The previous posting was off the board by mid-February 2025. So a sophomore who waits until spring may find interviews finished and the posting gone. The posting also asks you to email recruiting@raine.com if you want to update your resume "later in the recruiting season," which tells you the firm expects applications to arrive early and change later, not the other way round.
Which Raine Group Internship Programs Should You Target?
Raine runs one US internship program. Here's what is and isn't posted as of November 1, 2026.
| Program | Location | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2028 Summer Analyst | New York City | Open; board shows it created Sep 10, 2026 | 10 weeks, onsite; graduating Dec 2028 to May/June 2029; NYC base salary range $120,000 (annual rate) |
| 2027 Summer Analyst | New York City | Closed; posted around Oct 2025, off the board by late May 2026 | Same 10-week program for the class graduating Dec 2027 to May/June 2028 |
| Summer Analyst (London) | London | Separate non-US program | Not covered on this page |
| Off-Cycle Analyst (Singapore) | Singapore | Separate non-US program, January to June 2027 | Not covered on this page |
The open role is on the Raine job board. Raine's website has no separate careers page.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Raine's posting lists qualifications but no hard thresholds. Here's what it says:
• Class year: "Expected Graduation date: Winter (December 2028) - Spring (May/June 2029)." For summer 2028 that means current sophomores.
• GPA: no floor is stated.
• Work authorization: the posting states no sponsorship policy.
• Major: none is named.
• What they want: "Professional enthusiasm for the media, entertainment, sports and technology sectors," "Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills," "Strong written and verbal communication skills" and a "Global mindset."
• Location: onsite in New York City for 10 weeks.

Does Raine Have a GPA Cutoff?
Not a published one. The posting's list is about interest and judgment, not grades: a "Desire to work within an integrated advisory and investing platform" and "Ability to think critically about business issues." That doesn't mean grades are ignored, only that Raine doesn't state a number. The posting is also silent on visa sponsorship, so international students should ask the recruiting team early, using the recruiting@raine.com address the posting gives.

Could You Get In at Raine Group? Compare Your Profile
Based on 543 investment banking summer analysts at top investment banks from the classes of 2025 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.
Which summer are you applying for?
Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.
Which group is your school closest to?
Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.
Is your major finance, economics, accounting or business?
Math and statistics count too. Major is not a hard filter, but it shifts how much your coursework has to prove.
How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?
Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.
Has any of that experience been finance-related?
Banking, PE or VC, corporate finance, wealth management, equity research, accounting or consulting. Any size of firm counts.
Are you in a finance club, investment fund or case competition team?
Campus clubs are how most admits get their first deal and modelling reps.

What Skills Does Raine Group Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Raine's posting lists qualities rather than tools, so this section combines it with candidate interview reports (community-reported on Wall Street Oasis). Modeling and valuation: the posting names "financial modeling / valuation" and "transaction structuring" as core work, and candidates describe questions on DCF and terminal value. Growth-equity thinking: because Raine also invests, several candidates were asked about pre-money and post-money valuation, and older reports mention questions about which Raine investments were good or bad. Sector conviction: the posting asks for "Professional enthusiasm for the media, entertainment, sports and technology sectors," and candidates report being asked to pitch a company in the space.
Note: No skills chart on this page: Raine has one US internship posting (summer 2028, New York, read November 1, 2026), and it uses the same program description as the summer 2026 and 2027 postings, so there's nothing to count across postings. The skills above are quoted from that description and from dated candidate interview reports.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill maps to a remote Externship that gives you a finished project to talk through in interviews.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Financial modeling and valuation | "financial modeling / valuation, transaction structuring and project management" | Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling |
| Growth-stage company analysis | Candidates report pre-money and post-money valuation questions (community-reported) | HP Tech Ventures Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis |
| Principal investing judgment | "executing advisory and principal investing opportunities both domestically and internationally" | Mangusta Capital Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis |
| Diligence on private companies | "business, financial, accounting and industry diligence" | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation |
Start with valuation, then add a startup-analysis project. Raine's interviews mix classic banking technicals with investor-style questions, so you need both.
What Is the Raine Group Application and Interview Process Like?
Raine doesn't publish its interview process. The steps below combine the posting with candidate reports from Wall Street Oasis, which are community-reported.
1. Apply on the job board. Upload a resume named "Last Name, First Name." If you update it later, the posting says to email recruiting@raine.com.
2. Check your school's channel and diversity programs. Candidates describe on-campus and referral routes, and a 2025 candidate reached a first round through Raine's Growing Diverse Leaders program.
3. First round. Reports describe about 30 minutes with two analysts, mixing basic technicals (DCF, accounting, pre-money and post-money valuation) with "Why Raine? Why TMT?"
4. Superday. Candidates report four or five back-to-back interviews with senior bankers and investors.
5. Expect sector questions throughout. Recent reports mention TMT trends, pitching a company Raine should look at, and one candidate was asked how they'd value the New York Yankees.
Our superday interview guide covers how to prepare for back-to-back final rounds.
What Candidates Say on Wall Street Oasis
Reddit mentions Raine only in passing, so these cards use dated, first-hand interview reports from Wall Street Oasis.
A New York summer analyst candidate said the interview leaned heavily on the industry, with "Why Raine?" and "Why TMT?" questions plus basic valuation technicals: DCF, terminal value and growth-equity questions such as pre-money versus post-money valuation.
Another candidate that month, referred by an employee, said most questions were about Raine's sectors: what trends were happening, what drew them to the space, and which company they'd pitch for the firm to look at. One question was how to value the Yankees.
A candidate who came through Raine's Growing Diverse Leaders program described a roughly 30-minute, two-on-one first round with pre-money and post-money questions alongside basic technicals.
How Do You Stand Out for a Raine Group Internship?
Three moves. First, apply now. The summer 2028 posting has been up since September, and last cycle's first rounds ran in January. Second, prepare like an investor, not only a banker. Raine advises and invests, so candidates report pre-money and post-money questions next to the standard DCF material, and older reports describe questions about which of Raine's investments worked. Read the firm's investments page and have a view on one company. Third, show real sector conviction. The posting asks for "Professional enthusiasm for the media, entertainment, sports and technology sectors," and interviewers ask you to pitch a company in the space. Pick one sector Raine covers, such as music, gaming or sports, and know one recent deal in it. Raine publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate, so nobody can tell you the odds.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Raine Group internship?
No. Raine's summer 2027 New York posting went up around October 2025 and is no longer on its job board; archived copies show it gone by late May 2026. Juniors should ask their career office about other options. Sophomores can apply to the open summer 2028 Summer Analyst posting in New York.
When do Raine Group internship applications open for summer 2028?
They're open now. Raine's board shows the summer 2028 New York posting created on September 10, 2026, about 21 months before the internship. The two previous cycles opened around October 2024 and October 2025, so summer 2029 applications are expected around September to October 2027.
Is there a deadline for the Raine summer 2028 internship?
No deadline is stated. Treat it as rolling. Last cycle, candidates reported first-round interviews in January, about three months after the posting went up, and the summer 2026 posting was off the board by mid-February 2025. Apply in November or December 2026 rather than waiting.
How much do Raine Group summer analysts make?
The summer 2028 posting lists an NYC base salary range of $120,000. That's an annual rate published under New York pay transparency rules, not what you earn in a 10-week internship, and the posting doesn't say how it's prorated. The same $120,000 figure appeared on the summer 2026 and 2027 postings.
Who is eligible for the Raine Group internship?
Students with an expected graduation date between December 2028 and May/June 2029, which means current sophomores for summer 2028. The posting names no GPA floor, no major and no sponsorship policy. It asks for interest in media, entertainment, sports and technology, analytical skills and strong communication.
How long is the Raine internship and where is it?
Ten weeks, onsite in New York City. It starts with a training program, then summer analysts join deal teams on both advisory and principal investing work. Raine's London summer program and Singapore off-cycle program are separate, non-US programs with their own postings.
What are Raine Group interviews like?
Candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe a roughly 30-minute first round with two analysts, then a superday of four or five interviews. Expect "Why Raine? Why TMT?", DCF and valuation basics, pre-money and post-money questions, and requests to pitch a company in Raine's sectors. These accounts are community-reported, not from Raine.
Do Raine summer analysts get full-time offers?
That's the intent. The posting says "We aim to hire Full-Time Analysts from our Summer Program." Raine doesn't publish how many interns receive offers, and the community figures we found rest on too few reports to trust, so treat any specific rate you see as a guess.
Raine's summer 2028 posting is live with no stated deadline. Apply now if you're a sophomore, and walk into the first round with finished work: a remote Externship gives you a valuation or startup-analysis project to talk through.
