Ducera Partners' summer 2028 internship is open now. The firm posted three 2028 Investment Banking Summer Analyst roles, in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, on its campus job board on October 28, 2026, and we confirmed all three were live on November 1, 2026. That's about two and a half months earlier than last year, when the recruiting tracker Adventis dates Ducera's first summer 2027 analyst posting to January 2026. In plain words: you apply in fall 2026 as a sophomore, you intern in summer 2028 after your junior year.

The summer 2027 analyst cycle is closed. The postings don't give a deadline, and past candidates describe interviews starting within days or weeks of applying, so treat this as a short window.

What Is a Ducera Partners Internship?

A Ducera Partners internship is an investment banking summer analyst program in New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco for undergraduates who will graduate between December 2028 and June 2029. Ducera is an independent investment bank founded in June 2015 and led by Michael Kramer, whom the firm describes on its story page as a restructuring pioneer. The postings say Ducera "has advised on over $925 billion in transactions" across M&A, strategic advisory, restructuring and liability management, capital solutions and risk solutions. Its expertise page lists work such as Chapter 11 restructurings, distressed M&A, exchange offers and consent solicitations. Summer analysts "work on a wide range of transactions including restructurings, recapitalizations, acquisitions, divestitures, private placements, leveraged buyouts, and joint ventures." The firm calls itself 100% partner-owned. It doesn't publish class size or a return-offer rate.

When Do Ducera Partners Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

The recruiting tracker Adventis dates Ducera's first summer analyst postings to January 2025 for summer 2026 and January 2026 for summer 2027, and candidate interview reports on Wall Street Oasis place first rounds and superdays in January and February of those years (community-reported). For summer 2028 Ducera moved earlier: its campus job board shows the New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco postings published on October 28, 2026, about 19 months before a June 2028 start. Adventis had projected December 2026 or January 2027, so the firm beat that forecast. Because the opening jumped by about two and a half months in one year, any forecast is low-confidence: we expect summer 2029 applications in fall 2027, possibly earlier.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Ducera's summer 2028 postings carry no closing date, but its process has historically moved fast. Past candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe a first-round call about a week after applying, and most said the whole process took less than a month (community-reported). Without a published cutoff, nothing tells you how many first-round slots are left, and a small boutique has few of them. Two more steps come before anyone reads your file closely. The posting says all candidates should complete a Suited profile after applying, and Ducera calls that assessment mandatory. Your resume must be a PDF. Do both on the day you apply. If you're in Los Angeles or San Francisco, note that each office has its own posting.

Which Ducera Partners Internship Programs Should You Target?

Ducera runs one undergraduate summer program across three US offices. Here's what is posted on its campus board as of November 1, 2026.

All open roles are on Ducera's campus job board. The application asks you to pick a primary and secondary business line from M&A, Private Capital and Restructuring.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The rules come from the summer 2028 postings and the application form:

• Class year: you must be "currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with an anticipated graduation date between December 2028 and June 2029." For most students that means current sophomores.

• GPA: no floor is stated, but the form requires your undergraduate major and cumulative GPA.

• Work authorization: the form asks whether you're legally authorized to work in the US and whether you will "AT ANY TIME in the future require visa sponsorship."

• Materials: a resume in PDF format is required; a cover letter and LinkedIn profile are optional.

• Assessment: after applying, you complete a profile on Suited, which the posting calls "a mandatory part of our recruiting process."

• Business line: you choose a primary and secondary interest from M&A, Private Capital and Restructuring.

Does Ducera Partners Have a GPA Cutoff?

Not a published one. The postings ask for "excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records," and the form asks for your GPA, but Ducera doesn't name a number. A Reddit commenter noted that many Ducera partners came from non-target schools and that the firm hires heavily from Ohio State, which suggests school name isn't the screen (community-reported). International students should ask recruiting@ducerapartners.com about sponsorship before applying.

Based on 543 investment banking summer analysts at top investment banks from the classes of 2025 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.

Question 1 of 6

Which summer are you applying for?

Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.

Which group is your school closest to?

Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.

Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.

Question 5 of 6

Question 6 of 6

What Skills Does Ducera Partners Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The three summer 2028 postings use one shared description, so this section draws on that text plus candidate interview reports on Wall Street Oasis (community-reported). Modeling, finance and accounting: the postings ask for "strong financial modeling, finance, and accounting skills," and candidates report DCF and LBO questions, including how NOLs and deferred tax assets flow through the three statements. Restructuring and credit: Ducera is known for restructuring and liability management, and candidates were asked about debt buybacks below par, PIK interest, how unsecured claims are treated in bankruptcy and common liability management structures. Communication and detail: the postings list "excellent verbal and written communication skill," "outstanding project management skills" and "exceptional attention to detail," and interns draft client presentations and memoranda.

Note: No skills chart on this page: Ducera's three summer 2028 postings (read November 1, 2026) share one identical description, so counting skills across them would only repeat the same five qualifications three times. The skills above are quoted from that description and from dated candidate interview reports.

Start with the modeling project. Candidates describe technical first rounds on DCFs, LBOs and debt, and having built a model yourself makes those answers easier.

What Is the Ducera Partners Application and Interview Process Like?

Ducera doesn't publish its interview process. The steps below combine the posting with candidate reports from Wall Street Oasis, which are community-reported.

1. Apply on the campus job board. Upload a PDF resume, enter your major and GPA, answer the work authorization questions and pick your business line interests.

2. Complete the Suited profile. The posting says all candidates should do this after applying, and Ducera calls the assessment mandatory.

3. First round. Reports describe a phone or Zoom call of about 30 minutes with an associate, VP or MD, often heavy on technicals such as DCF changes, how much debt an LBO can carry or a debt buyback walked through the three statements.

4. Second round. Some candidates had a second call with an analyst or associate before the superday; others went straight from the first round to the superday.

5. Superday. Reports describe three or four back-to-back interviews of about 30 minutes, mixing behavioral, markets and technical questions. One restructuring candidate's last round was a group case study.

Our superday interview guide covers how to prepare for back-to-back final rounds.

What Candidates Say on Wall Street Oasis

Reddit mentions Ducera mostly in passing, so these cards use dated, first-hand interview reports from Wall Street Oasis.

A New York restructuring summer analyst candidate, recruited on campus, had a Zoom first round with an associate on simple technicals such as common liability management structures, then a four-round superday. Three rounds covered markets, resume and technicals; the last was a group case study.

How Do You Stand Out for a Ducera Partners Internship?

Three moves. First, learn restructuring technicals, not just M&A ones. Ducera's biggest practices are restructuring and liability management, and candidates report questions on debt bought back below par, PIK interest, where unsecured claims sit in a bankruptcy and which industries will see the most restructuring. Know how a distressed exchange changes the balance sheet and enterprise value. Second, pick your business line on purpose. The form makes you choose between M&A, Private Capital and Restructuring, so have a one-sentence reason for your first choice. Ducera's expertise page lists the deal types each group handles. Third, move early. The postings have no deadline, and past candidates heard back within about a week, so a finished application in the first days beats a polished one a month later. Ducera publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate; Wall Street Oasis users put intern-to-full-time offers at 92%, a community estimate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Ducera Partners internship?

No, not for the undergraduate summer analyst role. Ducera's summer 2027 analyst postings opened in January 2026 and are no longer on its board. Sophomores graduating between December 2028 and June 2029 can apply for summer 2028 now. MBA students should check the 2027 Summer Associate posting, whose stated due date was October 29, 2026.

When do Ducera Partners internship applications open for summer 2028?

They're open now. Ducera posted its summer 2028 summer analyst roles in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco on October 28, 2026, about 19 months before the internship. That's earlier than the January openings of the last two cycles, so summer 2029 applications are expected in fall 2027, possibly earlier.

Is there a deadline for the Ducera Partners internship?

The summer 2028 postings don't state one. That doesn't mean you can wait: past candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe a first-round call about a week after applying and a process that took less than a month (community-reported). Apply in the first week and finish the Suited profile the same day.

How much do Ducera Partners summer analysts make?

The summer 2028 postings list an expected annual base salary of $110,000. That's an annualized rate, so a summer analyst earns a prorated share for the weeks worked. The postings add that total compensation may include other components.

Who is eligible for the Ducera Partners internship?

Undergraduates pursuing a bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2028 and June 2029, which usually means current sophomores. No GPA floor or major is published, but the form asks for both. You also answer whether you're authorized to work in the US and whether you'll ever need visa sponsorship.

What is the Suited assessment at Ducera?

Suited is an online assessment Ducera uses for investment banking candidates. The posting says all candidates should complete a Suited profile after submitting the application and calls it a mandatory part of recruiting. If you need an alternative because of a disability, the posting says to email recruiting@ducerapartners.com.

What are Ducera Partners interviews like?

Candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe a technical first round of about 30 minutes, sometimes a second round, then a superday of three or four back-to-back interviews. Questions covered DCFs, how much debt an LBO can carry, debt buybacks below par and bankruptcy claims. One restructuring superday ended with a group case study. These accounts are community-reported.

Do Ducera Partners interns get full-time offers?

Ducera's postings don't say, and the firm publishes no conversion rate. Wall Street Oasis users estimate that 92% of Ducera interns receive full-time offers, a community figure built from user reports rather than company data. Treat it as a rough signal and ask about return offers during your superday.

Ducera's summer 2028 analyst postings went up October 28, 2026 with no stated deadline, and past interviews started fast. Apply, finish the Suited profile and walk into the technical round with real work behind you: a remote Externship gives you a modeling or valuation project to talk through.
