Last updated: October 2026

Anders CPAs + Advisors, the St. Louis accounting firm, hires its audit and tax interns two summers ahead, and this year's window has already closed. The firm posted its Audit and Assurance Intern - Summer 2028 and Tax Intern - Summer 2028 roles on August 10, 2026, about 22 months before the June 2028 start. Both were live on August 12. On October 12, 2026, neither is on the firm's job board, and no internship is listed at all.

In plain words: you apply in August, roughly two years before the summer you intern. August 2026 was the window for summer 2028. On that one cycle of evidence, the next window is expected around August 2027, for summer 2029 audit and tax internships. The only student listing open today is Explore Anders 2027, a one-day event that isn't an internship.

What Is an Anders Internship?

An Anders internship is an 8-week, in-person summer role at Anders CPAs + Advisors, a St. Louis accounting firm that has operated since 1965. Interns join the Audit and Assurance, Tax, or Bank Compliance and Loan Review department and work in the downtown St. Louis office, with compliance interns also in Chesterfield, Missouri. The firm's postings describe it as ranked #75 on Accounting Today's list of top accounting firms and a member of LEA Global. Anders is #39 on Vault's 2027 Most Prestigious Accounting Firms list. Its university recruiting page promises interns training and mentorship, networking events and exposure to different service lines. One naming note: this page is about Anders in St. Louis, not Andersen, the tax firm, and not The Andersons, which has its own internship guide.

When Do Anders Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Anders runs two calendars, posted the same week. The summer 2028 Audit and Assurance and Tax postings were published on August 10, 2026, about 22 months before a June 2028 start. The summer 2027 Compliance/Loan Review posting followed on August 11, 2026, about 10 months before a June 2027 start. Archived copies show all three live on August 12, 2026. By October 11 all three were gone from the board, so each was up for less than two months. We couldn't recover the board's 2025 listings, so the August timing rests on this one cycle. If it repeats, applications for summer 2029 audit and tax internships, and for summer 2028 compliance and loan review, should appear around August 2027.

No Anders internship is open. The summer 2028 Audit and Tax postings and the summer 2027 Compliance/Loan Review posting went up on August 10 and 11, 2026 and are no longer listed. The one student listing still live is the sign-up for Explore Anders 2027, a one-day event.

The next window is expected around August 2027, so this gap is when you build proof. The Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship or the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship gives you a finished project for the resume you'll submit.

Applications for summer 2029 Audit and Tax internships, and for the summer 2028 Compliance/Loan Review internship, are expected to open. In 2026 the postings appeared on August 10 and 11 and were gone within two months. This is a projection from one cycle.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

At Anders the mode is a short window. The August 2026 postings stated no deadline, but they didn't stay up: live on August 12, gone by October 11. A university job board that had copied the audit posting now returns a not-found page too. We can't see the exact day they closed, so the safe reading is weeks, not months. Two things make the timing easy to miss. The audit and tax roles are for a summer almost two years out, so most students aren't looking yet. Job sites such as Indeed and LinkedIn can keep showing the summer 2028 listing after the firm has pulled it, so always check Anders's own board. A posting could reappear if seats remain, but nothing on the board says one will. Plan to apply in the first week of the next window.

Which Anders Internship Programs Should You Target?

Anders posted three internships in August 2026, all now closed, and runs two events for students that aren't internships.

The summer 2028 application form also offered "Spring 2028" as an availability choice. Anders doesn't describe a separate spring internship, so ask a recruiter before counting on one. The university recruiting page has a contact form for reaching recruiters outside the window.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

These requirements come from the three August 2026 postings and their application forms, read from archived copies:

• Class year: "enrolled in an accounting, finance, or related curriculum at the junior level or higher." The summer 2028 audit and tax postings added "Graduating December 2029 or earlier"; the summer 2027 compliance posting said May 2028 or earlier.

• CPA: "Plan to pursue CPA" for audit and tax, and the form asked for your CPA eligibility date.

• Hours: "Minimum 25+ hour work week required."

• GPA: no minimum is stated, but the audit and tax forms asked for your cumulative GPA.

• Work authorization: the forms asked whether you'd need Anders to start an immigration case, including OPT and CPT. The Explore Anders posting requires US work authorization "now and in the future without requiring sponsorship."

• Compliance track: "Experience working in a bank or credit union is a plus."

Is There a GPA Cutoff at Anders?

Not a published one. No posting named a minimum, though the audit and tax application asked for cumulative GPA and offered a field for major GPA, so expect it to be read. The class-year line needs a careful look. "Junior level or higher" describes where you'll be at the internship, not when you apply. Since audit and tax roles are filled about 22 months ahead, a summer 2028 intern was typically a rising sophomore or junior when the posting went up in August 2026.

What Skills Does Anders Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Anders's three August 2026 postings were short and specific. The audit posting had interns "conduct audits of client company financials," help with risk assessments and "prepare portions of compilation, review, and audit engagements." The tax posting listed trust and individual income tax returns, tax planning, analyzing tax notices and drafting responses, and tax projections and research. The compliance posting covered reviews against "federal consumer protection and anti-money laundering regulations" and loan portfolio risk. Audit and compliance both asked for detailed written reports of findings and recommendations. No posting named software.

What Is the Anders Application and Interview Process Like?

Anders doesn't publish its interview steps. This is what the August 2026 postings and the campus page show:

1. Watch the board in August. Postings appear on the Greenhouse board, which is embedded in the firm's current openings page. In 2026 they went up on August 10 and 11.

2. Apply through the Greenhouse form. The audit and tax forms asked for a resume, the timeframe you're available, your CPA eligibility date, cumulative GPA, and work authorization answers.

3. Recruiter follow-up. The University Recruiting team handles next steps. The interview format and number of rounds aren't published.

4. Discover Anders. Students who accept an offer are invited to this onboarding event, which includes panels with current staff and former interns.

Outside the window, the university recruiting page tells students to fill out its contact form to reach a recruiter. To prepare for fit questions, see our behavioral interview guide.

What the Community Says

We found no first-hand accounts from Anders interns on Reddit, and Vault has no internship profile for the firm, so there's nothing honest to quote here. The firm's name also collides with a common first name, which fills searches with unrelated results.

How Do You Stand Out for an Anders Internship?

Three moves. First, get the calendar right. Audit and tax roles are posted about 22 months ahead, in August, and the last ones were up for less than two months. Put early August 2027 in your calendar now and check the firm's own board that week. Second, show up before you apply. If you're a freshman or sophomore, sign up for Explore Anders on May 19, 2027, and use the campus page's contact form to introduce yourself to a recruiter. Third, have the form answers ready. That means your CPA eligibility date, your cumulative GPA, and confirmation that you can work in person in St. Louis for June and July. Banking experience helps on the compliance track. Anders publishes no applicant count, class size, pay rate or conversion rate, so we can't tell you your odds.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Anders internship?

No. The only summer 2027 role, the Compliance/Loan Review Intern, was posted on August 11, 2026 and is no longer listed. The summer 2028 Audit and Tax postings are gone too. As of October 12, 2026, Anders's board lists no internship. The next window is expected around August 2027.

When will Anders internship applications open again?

Probably around August 2027. In 2026 Anders posted its summer 2028 Audit and Tax internships on August 10 and its summer 2027 Compliance/Loan Review internship on August 11. If that repeats, August 2027 brings summer 2029 audit and tax roles and a summer 2028 compliance role. This projection rests on one cycle.

How far ahead does Anders recruit interns?

About 22 months for audit and tax. The summer 2028 postings went up on August 10, 2026 for an internship starting in June 2028. The Compliance/Loan Review track runs on a shorter clock: its summer 2027 posting appeared on August 11, 2026, about 10 months before a June 2027 start.

How long is the Anders internship?

Eight weeks. Each of the three August 2026 postings described an 8-week internship starting in June and ending in late July, in person, with a minimum work week of 25 or more hours. Audit and tax interns work in the St. Louis office; compliance interns work in St. Louis and Chesterfield, Missouri.

Who is eligible for an Anders internship?

Students in accounting, finance or a related curriculum at junior level or higher. The summer 2028 audit and tax postings asked for graduation by December 2029 and a plan to pursue the CPA. The compliance posting asked for graduation by May 2028 and called bank or credit union experience a plus.

What does Anders pay interns?

Anders doesn't publish intern pay. None of the three August 2026 postings carried a pay line, and Missouri doesn't require employers to post one. We don't quote salary-site estimates for a firm this size because they're often not based on real intern reports. Ask the recruiter during the process.

What is Explore Anders?

It's a one-day event, not an internship. Explore Anders introduces freshmen and sophomores to the CPA profession at the firm's downtown St. Louis office, and the 2027 date is Wednesday, May 19, 2027. Community college students planning to transfer and students still choosing a major can also sign up.

Does Anders sponsor visas for interns?

It doesn't appear to. The August 2026 intern application forms asked whether you'd need Anders to start an immigration case, including OPT and CPT, and the Explore Anders posting requires authorization to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship. Confirm your situation with a recruiter.

No Anders internship is open today, and the next window is expected around August 2027. Use the months before it to finish a project you can show: a remote Externship takes about 8 weeks and fits around classes.
