Last updated: October 2026
Weber Shandwick doesn't run one summer program. In the archived copies we read, it posted separate paid intern roles for spring, summer and fall, at $20 an hour on the pages that listed pay. As of October 26, 2026, it has none open in the United States: its own job page lists 84 postings and no internship, and Omnicom's job board, where the apply buttons lead, holds no Weber Shandwick intern role either. In plain words: the nearest door is the spring 2027 cohort, and the next is summer 2027.
Both are expected, not confirmed. Spring postings appeared between late September and December in the last two cycles, and summer postings between mid-January and mid-March. We found no archived US intern posting from after December 2025, so treat every date here as low confidence.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, usually in about 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. What Is a Weber Shandwick Internship?
A Weber Shandwick internship is a full-time, paid, seasonal role inside the global communications agency, now part of Omnicom Public Relations. Archived postings describe interns who "work side by side with the firm's diverse team of strategists, analysts, producers, designers, developers and campaign activators." Each posting is for one practice and one city, such as analytics in Washington, DC, or healthcare public relations in New York. Weber Shandwick calls itself "the earned-first global communications agency" and was an Interpublic agency before the Omnicom acquisition (see our Interpublic internship guide). This page covers US internships only. Its job page also lists roles in Europe and Asia, which are outside this guide.

When Do Weber Shandwick Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Weber Shandwick posts by season, so there are three windows a year. Archived postings show spring roles published between October 9 and December 26, 2024, and between September 26 and December 2, 2025. Summer roles ran from January 19 to the end of February in 2024, and from January 30 to March 13 in 2025, with a stray posting later in each year. Fall roles appeared from June 26 to July 26, 2024, and from July 1 to September 3, 2025. That puts postings about one to four months before the start. The "Published" date on a page can reflect a re-posting, and nothing has been posted since the site changed in 2026, so every window below is an expectation.
No US internship is posted. Weber Shandwick's job page lists 84 postings with no internship, and Omnicom's job board lists intern roles only for other agencies.
Spring 2027 postings (January to May) are expected. The last two cycles' spring postings appeared between October 9 and December 26, 2024, and between September 26 and December 2, 2025. Nothing has appeared yet this year.
Summer 2027 postings (June to August) are expected, one per practice and city. The summer 2024 postings were published January 19 to February 29, and the summer 2025 postings January 30 to March 13.
The summer cohort works full time, 40 hours a week, according to the archived Analytics posting, which says its program runs from June to August.
Fall 2027 postings (September to December) are expected. Fall roles were published June 26 to July 26 in 2024 and July 1 to September 3 in 2025.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Weber Shandwick states no deadline on the archived pages we read, so we can't say how long a window stays open. What the dates show is batching: six of the 17 archived summer 2025 pages carry the same February 4, 2025 publication date, so many roles appear on one day. When a batch goes up, your practice and city may be in it, and a competing applicant has the same chance. Check the Weber Shandwick careers page and Omnicom's board weekly from now, and apply the week your posting is published. Don't wait for "fall recruiting": the spring cohort is the nearest door.
Which Weber Shandwick Internship Programs Should You Target?
Weber Shandwick has no single US intern program. These are the practices that posted seasonal internships between 2024 and spring 2026.
| Practice | Focus | Locations seen | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public relations | Consumer, CPG and sports, food and beverage and beauty, healthcare, public affairs, corporate and tech PR | New York, Washington, DC and others | Writing, media relations, research |
| Analytics and research | Business, AI and media analytics, market research; social listening and campaign measurement | Washington, DC, New York | Excel, PowerPoint, Boolean queries, data visualization |
| Creative and design | Art direction, copywriting, design, creative strategy | New York, Boston, Washington, DC, Baltimore | Concepting, design tools, a portfolio |
| Influencer and social | Influencer strategy and paid influencer media relations, social strategy | New York, Boston, Detroit, Washington, DC | Social platforms, research, writing |
| Strategy and operations | Strategic planning, resource management, client finance, paid media | Washington, DC, New York | Excel, planning, organization |
The practices come from archived Weber Shandwick postings. Which will post in 2027 is not announced. See the Weber Shandwick careers page.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The archived Analytics postings, the only ones we read in full, set these rules:
• Education: the posting lists "Education: Bachelor's degree." It doesn't say whether you must already hold one, so confirm before applying as a junior.
• Availability: 40 hours a week for the whole internship, which runs June to August in summer, January to May in spring.
• Skills: strong verbal and written communication, organization and critical thinking, and expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• GPA, class year and work authorization: not stated on the pages we read. Read these lines on each posting when it goes up.

Is the GPA a Hard Cutoff at Weber Shandwick?
We can't say. The postings we read state no GPA. They do say candidates "do not have to have ALL" of the listed qualifications and only need "some combination of them," which suggests a flexible screen. Creative practices may want a portfolio, but that isn't confirmed on any page we read, so check each posting.
What Skills Does Weber Shandwick Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
We read the Analytics internship posting in full for summer 2025 and spring 2026, which share one template, so we can't give a skill frequency across practices. That template lists Excel (primary) and PowerPoint (secondary), social media listening with Boolean queries, web and social analytics platforms, data visualization, and strong written and verbal communication. It asks for interest in data-based storytelling. Other practices will ask for different skills, such as writing for PR and a portfolio for creative roles.
Note: We read one posting template in full (Analytics, summer 2025 and spring 2026), so we did not count skills across job descriptions. The skills above come from that template, as archived.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each Weber Shandwick skill maps to a remote Externship that gives you a finished project to discuss in interviews.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign strategy and messaging | Analytics: "analyses to inform the strategic direction of integrated campaigns" | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Audience research | Analytics: "social media listening research to identify trends in online conversations" | Health-Ade (Generous Brands) Consumer Behavior & Insights |
| Data cleaning and analysis | Analytics: "sanitize raw data inputs and perform quantitative analysis in Microsoft Excel" | SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games |
| Health communications data | Healthcare PR postings, 2024 to 2026, in New York and Washington, DC | ARCeH Data Analytics, Health Outcomes |
The data rows match the Analytics postings most directly. There is no open externship in copywriting or art direction right now, so build that portfolio yourself.
What Is the Weber Shandwick Application and Interview Process Like?
Weber Shandwick publishes no interview process for interns. This is what its pages show:
1. Find the posting. Search the Weber Shandwick careers page by practice and city, and check Omnicom's job board for the same title.
2. Apply on Workday. The Apply button on each posting leads to Omnicom's Workday site.
3. Interviews. Not published. The postings name no assessment, case or round structure.
4. Start. Spring runs January to May, summer June to August and fall September to December, according to the archived postings.
5. Work week. 40 hours a week, in the office at least three days a week under Omnicom's policy.
Practice with our behavioral interview guide, since agency interviews lean on how you work with clients and teams.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit threads about Weber Shandwick are from 2024, and they are about culture and pay, not the application process.
A former Weber Shandwick employee of six years called a big agency a good resume builder early in a career but "long hours, high stress, low pay." A commenter who said they were interning there agreed that large PR agencies overwork and underpay.
A commenter said they joined Weber Shandwick as a full-time intern after graduating and were hired after six months. They called it great for experience but hard on pay, stress and work-life balance, and suggested moving on after two or three years.
How Do You Stand Out for a Weber Shandwick Internship?
Three moves. First, pick a practice before the postings go up. Each role is one practice in one city, so know whether you want consumer PR, healthcare, analytics or creative. Second, show the tools. The Analytics template names Excel, PowerPoint, Boolean queries and social analytics platforms, so bring a project that used them. Third, be ready for a full-time schedule. The postings say 40 hours a week for the whole season. Weber Shandwick publishes no class size, acceptance rate or conversion rate, so we don't give one.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Weber Shandwick internship?
No. The summer 2026 cohort has already run, and we found no archived US intern posting after December 2025. As of October 26, 2026, nothing is open. The nearest cohort is spring 2027, with postings expected between now and December, and summer 2027 postings expected from mid-January.
When do Weber Shandwick internship applications open?
By season. In archived postings, spring roles appeared between late September and December, summer roles from mid-January to mid-March, and fall roles from late June to early September. These are patterns from 2024 to 2025, not announced dates, so check the careers page weekly.
Is Weber Shandwick hiring US interns right now?
No. On October 26, 2026, Weber Shandwick's careers page listed 84 postings and none was an internship. Omnicom's job board, where Weber Shandwick applications go, listed intern roles for other Omnicom agencies but none for Weber Shandwick. Check again each week.
How much do Weber Shandwick interns get paid?
The archived postings that listed pay, from summer 2024 through spring 2026, show $20.00 an hour. Weber Shandwick hasn't published a 2027 rate. The internships are full time, so the job pays about $800 a week before taxes at that rate.
How long is a Weber Shandwick internship?
It follows the season. According to the archived postings, spring runs January to May, summer June to August and fall September to December. The Analytics postings say interns work 40 hours a week for the whole internship, so plan to take no classes or a very light load.
Where are Weber Shandwick internships located?
Archived postings named Washington, DC and New York most often, and also Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. Omnicom's policy requires employees to be in the office at least three days a week. We found no remote internship.
Do I apply to Weber Shandwick or to Omnicom?
Both pages matter. Weber Shandwick lists its roles on its own careers page, and each Apply button leads to Omnicom's Workday site, since Weber Shandwick is now part of Omnicom Public Relations. Omnicom has no single company-wide internship program, so apply to the specific Weber Shandwick posting.
Does Weber Shandwick offer full-time jobs after the internship?
Weber Shandwick publishes no conversion rate. A former employee on Reddit says they started as a full-time intern after graduation and were hired after six months, but that is one account. Treat a return offer as possible, not promised, and ask your supervisor early.
No Weber Shandwick internship is open today, and the spring 2027 cohort is the nearest door. Build a project you can talk about while you wait: a remote Externship gives you finished campaign, research or analytics work for your Weber Shandwick interviews.
