Medpace Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

Medpace doesn't run one summer internship. It runs three intern seasons a year, and on October 3, 2026 its intern job board carried 25 open US student roles across all three at once: 15 for spring 2027, 6 for summer 2027, one still-open fall 2026 role and 3 with no season in the title. Every one is at the Cincinnati headquarters.

You can apply during 2026 for summer 2027, but the nearer door is spring 2027: those interns start in January, and a few roles take part-timers at 20 hours a week while you're still in class. If you can be in Cincinnati from January, apply to spring roles now and to summer roles in parallel.

What Is a Medpace Internship?

A Medpace internship is a paid, office-based role at the Cincinnati headquarters of Medpace, a full-service contract research organization (CRO) that runs Phase I to IV clinical trials for biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Medpace says its program offers "undergraduate students the opportunity to gain professional experience and an introduction to the clinical research industry." Unlike most pharma programs, it hires in three seasons (spring, summer and fall), and some roles take part-time students at a minimum of 20 hours a week. Medpace reported $2,530.2 million in 2025 revenue, up 20% from 2024, and its postings describe a team of more than 6,500 people in 40+ countries. Intern work ranges from trial feasibility and clinical data to software, business intelligence and finance.

When Do Medpace Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Medpace posts each cohort months ahead of its start, and the cohorts overlap. This year's spring 2027 roles were posted between June 16 and October 2, 2026 for a January start, about 3 to 7 months of lead time. Summer 2027 roles went up between August 20 and October 2, 2026, about 8 to 9 months ahead of a May start, and more are likely: last cycle a Laboratory Intern for summer 2026 was posted on January 28, 2026. Fall roles post in summer; fall 2026 roles went up between July 16 and August 31, 2026. Expect fall 2027 roles around July to August 2027.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Medpace hires continuously, so the risk isn't a fixed deadline. It's that a role fills while you wait. No posting carries a close date, and the board turns over: a fall 2026 Patient Concierge role came down between September 28 and October 3, while a new spring 2027 Imaging role went up on September 29. Spring 2027 roles also have a hard practical limit: they start in January, so offers have to land in the fall. Apply to the spring and summer roles you want this month, and check the board again in January for late summer postings.

Which Medpace Internship Programs Should You Target?

Medpace's 25 US roles fall into six groups. Pick the cohort you can commit to, then the function.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Medpace's program targets undergraduates, and each posting adds its own gates:

• Degree level: mostly undergraduates; Feasibility Informatics also admits master's and PhD students, and the BI Engineer and Feasibility Informatics roles prefer juniors and seniors.

• GPA: 8 of 25 postings require 3.5 or higher, including Finance & Accounting, Clinical Data, Feasibility Informatics, AI Engineering and QA. The rest state no GPA.

• Majors: life sciences for clinical and feasibility roles; CS, engineering or analytics for IT and BI; finance or accounting for F&A; business for vendor management.

• Hours: most roles are full-time, in person, 40 hours a week; patient concierge, patient recruitment and site contracts take part-timers at 20 hours minimum.

• Work authorization: the postings don't state a sponsorship policy; confirm with the recruiter.

Is the 3.5 GPA a Hard Cutoff?

On the eight postings that list it, treat it as one. Medpace writes 3.5 as a qualification on its finance, clinical data, feasibility informatics, AI engineering and QA roles. The other 17 roles, including most site, patient and IT roles, name no GPA, so a student below 3.5 still has plenty of doors.

What Skills Does Medpace Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Across the 25 live US postings, communication shows up in 21, and organization and attention to detail in about half. Three buckets sit on top. Clinical knowledge: 12 roles want a life science background, and feasibility roles add ICH-GCP. Office and data tools: 12 name Excel and 11 name Word, PowerPoint or Outlook. Technical: 7 ask for SQL and 6 for Python or R, concentrated in BI, data engineering and informatics.

1. Apply on careers.medpace.com. Filter by Intern and apply to each role and cohort separately; check the dates in the posting, not just the title.

2. Phone screen. Informatics candidates on Reddit mention a phone screen before the first interview.

3. Interview with the team. One or more rounds with the department; a 2026 informatics candidate was turned down after the first round.

4. Offer. Rolling. A former lab intern said they heard back quickly, while other students report years of rejections, so apply broadly across roles.

5. Stack cohorts. Medpace staff profiles mention doing four internship rotations, so apply for the next cohort while you're in the current one.

How Do You Stand Out for a Medpace Internship?

Three moves. First, apply for the cohort others skip. Most students only look at summer, but 15 of the 25 open roles are for spring 2027. If your school allows a January to May placement, you face a smaller pool. Second, offer more than one semester. Several postings say Medpace prefers availability across consecutive semesters, and staff profiles describe multiple rotations, so say you can extend. Third, show you can be precise. Attention to detail and organization appear in about half the postings, and feasibility and data roles involve QC review of documents. A spreadsheet or data project with a clean, checked output makes the point. Before accepting any later full-time offer, read the employment agreement; community posts describe a non-compete for employees.

No. Summer 2026 has already run. The open doors now are spring 2027, with 15 roles starting in January, and summer 2027, with 6 roles open on October 3, 2026. One fall 2026 Clinical Data role was also still posted, but the fall semester is already under way.
