Labcorp Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

Last updated: August 2026

Labcorp welcomed over 300 interns across its global offices in 2025, up from more than 250 in 2024, per its own intern requisition text, and Vault ranks the program #5 for IT, #8 for Health Sciences, and #9 for Software Engineering.

But here's the catch: each function's posting window is measured in days, not weeks. Four of the six fully-documented 2026-cycle windows lasted just 4 to 7 days. For the 2027–2028 cycle, the first summer-2027 requisitions are expected around mid-October 2026, projected from the 13 October 2025 open of the 2026 cycle. As of August 2026, Labcorp's own intern search returns no results.

What Is a Labcorp Internship?

A Labcorp internship is a paid, full-time summer placement inside one of the largest clinical laboratory and life sciences companies in the world. Labcorp (NYSE: LH) employs nearly 70,000 people across 100 countries, processes more than 160 million medical test results a year, and reported $13.95 billion in FY2025 revenue. The internship spans two segments: Diagnostics Laboratories ($10.88B, everything from toxicology to genomics) and Biopharma Laboratory Services ($3.10B, central lab work for clinical trials).

And one important distinction: Labcorp spun off its Phase I–IV clinical trial management business as Fortrea in June 2023, so if you're looking for CRO-side clinical trial internships, that's a separate company now.

When Do Labcorp Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Labcorp doesn't leave its intern requisitions open until filled, and each requisition prints a hard Application Window and closes on that date. The 2026 cycle opened on 13 October 2025 (Real-World Data Analytics, the earliest documented window) and kept releasing function-specific requisitions through 20 April 2026.

So when does the summer 2027 wave start? Expected around mid-October 2026, roughly seven months before a May 2027 start, with each window lasting about 4 days to 4 weeks.

Now · Summer 2026YOU ARE HERE

Labcorp's Global Internship Program is shut for summer 2027: the company's own intern search reads "There are no jobs for your search criteria" and Workday shows zero intern requisitions among 1,752 open roles. What IS open: 9 MLS Trainee Student Worker positions for the 2026-2027 Medical Laboratory Science Training Program (different prerequisites, different program). This window is for building proof and joining the Talent Network.

The Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship and Beats by Dre Data Analytics Externship are paid, remote, project-based programs (distinct from Labcorp's unpaid clinical externships) that build the delivered-project evidence Labcorp's own requisitions ask for.

First summer-2027 reqs expected, projected from the 13 October 2025 open of the 2026 cycle. Labcorp prints a hard Application Window inside each req; documented 2026 windows ran 4 to 31 days, four of six at just 4 to 7 days. Vault says roles "may remain open for one to four weeks." Apply the day your function posts.

~Nov 2026 – Apr 2027EXPECTED

New function-specific reqs keep landing in waves, not one drop. Documented 2026 releases: 17 Nov (Bioinformatics), 2 Dec (Business Implementation), 13 Jan (Consumer Marketing), 23 Jan (Clinical Trial PM), 25 Feb (Data Science & AI), 8 Apr (Commercial Sales), 20 Apr (Communications). If your function hasn't posted by February, it hasn't missed you.

Summer 2027

11 or 12 weeks depending on your start date, May or June to August, full-time at 40 hours a week. Includes an in-person intern event (2026's ran June 2–4), senior-leader speaker sessions, a mentor pairing, National Intern Day recognition in July, and an end-of-program presentation to scientists and senior management.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Labcorp answers the deadline question inside every requisition: it prints a literal Application Window line with a start date and an end date. Four of the six fully-documented 2026 windows closed in 4 to 7 days. The Bioinformatics window ran 17 to 20 November 2025; the Data Science & AI window ran 25 to 28 February 2026. This isn't a rolling process that rewards early applicants with a slight edge. Miss the window and you miss the function. The req won't reopen.

So what's the insurance policy? The Talent Network alert. It's the difference between applying and never seeing the posting.

Which Labcorp Internship Programs Should You Target?

Labcorp runs one umbrella (the Global Internship Program) that posts dozens of function-specific requisitions. The six tracks below account for the verified 2026-cycle internships.

And which function you target determines your pay, your prerequisites, and your day-to-day.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Labcorp's stated requirements vary by track but share a common baseline:

Enrollment: rising juniors and seniors (2026 cycle: Dec 2026 – Jun 2028 graduation; expected ~Dec 2027 – Jun 2029 for summer 2027). Two tracks require graduate enrollment: Data Science & AI and Clinical Trial Program Manager, and those are also the best-paid ($30–$33 and $35–$40/hr).

GPA: no GPA requirement published for the Global Internship Program. None of the 11 requisitions names one. The separate MLS Training Program prefers 2.75 and considers 2.50–2.75 case by case.

Work authorization: most postings (8 of 11) say the role isn't eligible for visa sponsorship. Confirm on the specific requisition.

Hours and format: 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Relocation assistance available for qualifying candidates hired within a 50-mile radius (US and UK).

Degree fields named across the JDs: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Public Health, Regulatory, Animal Science, and more.

Does Labcorp Have a GPA Cutoff?

No, and this isn't a hedge. Labcorp publishes no GPA requirement for the Global Internship Program; none of the eleven requisitions we read names one. What five of them do ask for, verbatim, is "experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting." That's an explicit invitation to lead with a portfolio rather than a transcript.

So where do GPA numbers actually appear at Labcorp? Only in the MLS Training Program, which prefers 2.75 and considers 2.50–2.75 case by case.

But that's a different program with different prerequisites altogether (LSMLS admission, completed bachelor's, specific coursework).

What Skills Does Labcorp Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Eleven Labcorp function-specific intern job descriptions from the 2026 cycle repeat one profile more than any other: collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders appears in 9 of 11. Documentation and regulatory compliance follow at 7 of 11, and clinical, genomics or healthcare domain knowledge at 6 of 11.

But Labcorp's breadth is the story. The IT and data tracks name Angular, TensorFlow, PyTorch and Python. The clinical-trial tracks name ICD-10, CDISC and OMOP. The bench tracks name GLP, AAALAC and USDA. These aren't interchangeable, and the chart below reflects that split.

The chart under-represents wet-lab and specimen-handling skills relative to Labcorp's actual intern mix.

How Is Demand for Healthcare Interns Moving Right Now?

Corporate healthcare-intern pay averages ~$21.64/hr in the sampled ads, above the ~$16.33/hr aggregate-board headline (ZipRecruiter)
Labcorp pays $17–$40/hr — bench roles sit at the market rate ($17–$22), while data, engineering and clinical-program roles run well above it ($22–$40)

August 2026 is this tracker's baseline month for healthcare-intern, so month-over-month shifts appear at the September update. The early signal: healthcare interning is overwhelmingly on-site, 44 ads already reference 2027, and Labcorp's corporate-track pay sits well above the aggregate.

Method: aggregate analysis of US clinical, healthcare, and medical-device intern postings via Adzuna, August 2026 baseline. Sample indexes under half of all US postings; figures show direction and relative level, not total market share. What Is the Labcorp Application and Interview Process Like?

Labcorp's published hiring funnel has fewer rounds than most large employers, but the window constraint makes prep critical:

1. Pick your side of the house first. Labcorp posts separate reqs for bench/diagnostics, Central Lab/clinical-trial, and corporate/IT/data. Pay ranges differ by roughly 2x ($17–$22 vs $27–$40/hr), and so do the degree requirements. There is no umbrella application.

2. Join the Talent Network before October. With documented windows as short as 4 days, an email alert is the mechanism that makes applying possible.

3. Apply inside the printed window at careers.labcorp.com. Applications go through Labcorp's Workday ATS. Vault: "Apply to roles directly through the Labcorp Workday."

4. Recruiter phone screen. Labcorp's own guidance: "The phone screening is a great way for us to learn more about you and your motivation for joining our internship program."

5. Extended interview with the team. Labcorp calls this a "collaborative discussion" and recommends listing the skills, knowledge and professional qualities you bring. No online assessment is described anywhere.

And the general tone? Interns on Vault describe the process as organized, clearly communicated and selective: "The hiring process was very organized, and everything was notified in a timely manner."

How Do You Stand Out When the Window Is 4 Days?

Three moves, starting with the infrastructure. Join the Talent Network before October so you see the requisition the day it posts; with a 4-day window, checking the site weekly means you'll miss most functions. Second, target a single function and use its vocabulary. The reqs name their tools outright: ICD-10, CDISC and OMOP in Clinical Trial Program Management; Angular, AWS Lambda and DynamoDB in Software Engineering; TensorFlow and PyTorch in the SWE posting; Alteryx and Tableau in Tax/Treasury. A generic healthcare resume competes badly against a req this specific.

And third, bring a project. What replaces the GPA? Labcorp publishes no GPA requirement, but five of eleven requisitions ask verbatim for "experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting." That's an explicit invitation to lead with proof.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Labcorp internship?

No. Labcorp's 2026 Global Internship Program requisitions closed on printed windows between November 2025 and April 2026, and that class ran May to August 2026. As of August 2026, Labcorp's own intern job search returns no results. So what's next? The summer-2027 cycle, expected to start posting around mid-October 2026.

When do Labcorp internship applications open for summer 2027?

Expect the first requisitions around mid-October 2026, roughly seven months before a May or June 2027 start. That projects the 2026 cycle, whose earliest documented window opened 13 October 2025. And new function-specific roles then kept appearing through April 2026, so a late-posting function hasn't missed you.

Are Labcorp internships rolling?

No. Labcorp prints a hard application window inside each requisition and closes it on that date. Documented 2026 windows ran from four days to a month, with four of six lasting only four to seven days. Vault says roles "may remain open for one to four weeks." Set an alert via the Talent Network.

What GPA does Labcorp require for an internship?

Labcorp publishes no GPA requirement for the Global Internship Program; none of the eleven 2026 requisitions we read names one. But five of them instead ask for "experience delivering multiple projects in an academic or professional setting." The separate MLS Training Program does list GPA, preferring 2.75 and considering 2.50 to 2.75 case by case.

How much do Labcorp interns get paid?

Labcorp posts real hourly ranges inside its requisitions, and the spread is genuinely wide. Laboratory and lab-assistant roles? $17 to $22 an hour in the 2025 and 2026 cycles.

But data, engineering and clinical-program roles ran $22 to $40, with graduate-level positions at the top of that band.

What is the Labcorp intern interview process like?

Labcorp describes two stages: a recruiter phone screen about your motivation for the program, then an extended interview it calls a collaborative discussion with the team. And no online assessment is described anywhere. Interns on Vault describe the process as organized, clearly communicated and selective.

What is the difference between a Labcorp internship and a Labcorp externship?

They're completely different. The internship is a paid, full-time summer role you apply to yourself through Workday. Labcorp's externships and clinical rotations are unpaid clinical hours arranged between your college and Labcorp, running two weeks to four months, and your program director sets them up. You can't apply directly.

Do Labcorp interns get return offers?

Labcorp publishes no intern-to-full-time conversion rate. Its own language frames the internship as a launching pad "whether you continue your career with Labcorp or apply your experience in another area."

And its named early-career pipeline is a separate Recent Graduate rotational program of year-long rotations spanning two to four years.

The first summer-2027 Labcorp requisitions are expected around mid-October 2026, and each window is measured in days, not months. Spend the runway on proof: a remote Externship (paid, project-based programs with real companies) turns "I have the coursework" into a delivered project an October application can point at.
