ITT's summer 2027 internships and spring 2027 co-ops are open right now. On 3 October 2026 the company had 32 US student requisitions live: 23 on ITT's own intern portal and 9 co-ops on the separate SPX FLOW board in Rochester, New York. None states a deadline, and ten more were posted between 28 September and 2 October alone.

In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, and you intern in summer 2027. The co-ops move faster, because most of them start in January 2027. One more thing to check before you apply: 10 of the 23 ITT portal reqs require U.S.-person status under export rules, while the Goulds Pumps, Engineered Valves and SPX FLOW roles don't. ITT Inc. is the Stamford, Connecticut maker of pumps, valves, connectors and shock absorbers, with 2025 revenue of $3.94 billion. It isn't ITT Technical Institute, the for-profit school that closed in 2016.

What Is an ITT Internship?

An ITT internship is a paid, full-time summer or co-op placement inside one of ITT Inc.'s business units, working on real engineering, supply chain or business projects at a manufacturing site. ITT doesn't hire interns centrally: each unit posts its own reqs, so you might land at ITT Aerospace Controls in Valencia, ITT Cannon connectors in Irvine, Enidine shock absorbers in Orchard Park, or Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls. Since ITT completed its SPX FLOW acquisition on 2 March 2026, the Rochester co-ops belong to ITT too, though they sit on SPX FLOW's own board. ITT's Student & Graduates page describes mentors, networking events and a cohort of engineering interns "from across ITT", and the Goulds Pumps co-op reqs add summer Career Readiness programming.

When Do ITT Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

ITT opens its summer wave in September, and it has done so three years running: the summer 2025 reqs posted 6 September to 1 October 2024, the summer 2026 reqs from 15 September 2025, and the summer 2027 reqs from 9 September 2026. That's about 8 months before a May start. The co-ops run on a shorter clock: posted in August and September for a January 2027 start, about 4 months ahead. Applications for summer 2028 are expected to open around September 2027 if the pattern holds.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

ITT's reqs are rolling, and they behave like it. Between 28 September and 3 October, three reqs disappeared (the Valencia candidate pool, the original El Cajon engineering req and a fall trade-compliance co-op) while ten new or re-scoped ones went up. A board that moves that fast in one week rewards people who check it often and apply early. Most ITT roles are single seats at one site, and the co-ops have a hard clock: a January start means interviews and offers have to wrap up by early December. If a req you want is live today, apply today rather than waiting for a deadline that the posting never states.

Which ITT Internship Programs Should You Target?

ITT's student roles fall into six groups, each tied to a business unit and a site. Pay is the range printed on the reqs.

Start at the ITT intern and co-op portal, then check the SPX FLOW board, which ITT's own portal doesn't show.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

ITT sets the bar per req. These are the lines that appear across the 23 reqs on its intern portal:

• Enrollment: currently enrolled in a relevant degree program and in good standing. One Irvine req adds that you must continue your degree after the internship.

• Class year: most reqs name one, usually junior or senior; the Lancaster quality intern takes sophomores to seniors, and the Seneca Falls design center co-op prefers seniors and master's students.

• GPA: only two reqs state one: the Westminster engineering co-op (2.50 minimum) and the Valencia finance internship (3.0 or higher).

• U.S.-person status: 9 reqs at Aerospace Controls, Cannon and Enidine say all applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR (citizen, green card holder, asylee or refugee), and one Valencia design req requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency under export rules.

• Work model: every role is on site at a plant or office; none is remote.

Can International Students Apply to ITT?

For some roles, yes. The ITAR and export clauses sit on 10 of the 23 ITT portal reqs, all in the aerospace and defense units. None of the Goulds Pumps co-ops, the Engineered Valves internship or the nine SPX FLOW co-ops carries that clause, and no ITT req mentions visa sponsorship either way. If you hold a student visa, focus on those and confirm work authorization with the recruiter early.

What Skills Does ITT Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Three skill groups show up again and again in ITT's reqs. Engineering tools: 2D and 3D CAD (Autodesk, SolidWorks, Catia on the Valencia design req), prototype testing and validation, and documentation such as work instructions. Plant improvement: root cause and corrective action, Lean and continuous improvement, and analyzing workflows to raise throughput. Business analytics: Excel and PowerPoint on most reqs, plus Power BI, Power Automate and SQL on the Irvine data analytics and AI internship, and supplier and sourcing analysis in supply chain roles.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

Several of ITT's business-side reqs describe projects you can rehearse in a remote Externship before your interviews.

For the engineering roles, bring proof you've used CAD and tested something you built. A senior design project, a Formula SAE part or a lab fixture you drew yourself is exactly what these reqs describe.

What Is the ITT Application and Interview Process Like?

ITT doesn't publish its intern interview format. Here's what its own postings show:

1. Pick the right board. Most roles are on ITT's iCIMS intern portal, but the nine Rochester co-ops are only on SPX FLOW's SuccessFactors site, and liveness differs by portal.

2. Check the export clause. Aerospace Controls, Cannon and Enidine reqs require U.S.-person status; read the requirements before you apply.

3. Apply to a named role. The general "Various Roles" pools were replaced by specific reqs in late September 2026, so match your resume to that req's duties.

4. Interviews. ITT doesn't publish its rounds. An older Indeed answer from an ITT employee (not an intern) describes a recruiter phone call, then on-site one-on-ones with several groups.

5. Offer and start. Offers are rolling. Co-ops start in January 2027 and summer interns in May or June 2027, and some reqs ask you to present your project results at the end.

Searches for "ITT internship" on Reddit mostly return the defunct ITT Tech school, so first-hand intern talk about ITT Inc. is scarce. These are the most useful items.

How Do You Stand Out for an ITT Internship?

Three moves. First, apply to the business, not the logo. ITT is really a group of separate companies: Goulds Pumps wants pump fundamentals and supply chain thinking, Cannon wants connector design and CAD, Aerospace Controls wants design and test experience. Read the req's duties and mirror them in your resume, line for line.

Second, show plant-floor habits. Root cause and corrective action, Lean, and written work instructions come up in about half of ITT's reqs. If you've fixed a recurring problem in a lab, a club build or a part-time job, tell that story with the before and after.

Third, be early for co-ops. A January 2027 start leaves little time, and ITT's Goulds Pumps and SPX FLOW co-ops list $25 to $30 an hour on most reqs, with no ITAR restriction, which makes them some of the most open seats on either board.
