ING Americas posted its summer 2027 New York internships in August 2026 and has already taken them down. A saved copy of ING's own posting for the Tech (Information Security) summer internship carries the date 10/08/2026 (ING writes dates day first, so August 10), a June 2027 start and a pay rate of $35 an hour. As of October 26, 2026, ING's US student filter shows "0 jobs," and none of the 715 postings on its careers board is a US internship. In plain words: the summer 2027 door has closed, so you apply in late summer 2027 and intern in summer 2028.

That summer 2028 window is a projection from one dated cycle. ING's Americas page says "recruitment for interns begins in September for the following summer," and this year's first posting came about three weeks earlier.

What Is an ING Internship?

An ING internship in the United States is a 10-week summer internship at ING Americas, the New York wholesale banking business of the Dutch banking group. ING describes itself as "a global bank with a strong European base" with more than 60,000 colleagues and about 38 million customers in over 40 countries. In the Americas, its wholesale division serves corporate and institutional clients in areas such as media and telecoms, utilities and renewables, natural resources, food and agribusiness, real estate and infrastructure. Interns join one department, and the posting we read, in information security, lists work on security monitoring, threat intelligence and control documentation. ING Bank has no US commercial banking license, so it operates through ING Financial Services LLC. This page covers ING's US internships only. ING's board also lists internships and traineeships in Europe and Asia, which are outside this guide.

When Do ING Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

ING's summer 2027 internship postings went up in August 2026 and were gone by October 17. The saved posting we can read was dated August 10, 2026, for a June 2027 start, so the lead time was about ten months at the front edge. ING's Americas page says recruitment for interns begins in September for the following summer, which means the posting we saw came about three weeks early. We know the postings were off the board by October 17, but not the closing dates. Summer 2028 postings are therefore expected around August to September 2027, with low to medium confidence.

The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

ING's evidence points to a short window. The summer 2027 postings first appeared in August 2026 and were off the board by October 17, a span of at most ten weeks, and ING states no deadline on its Americas page. We don't know the exact close dates, so the safe reading is that a posting can disappear without warning. Set a calendar reminder for August 2027, check the US student jobs page weekly, and apply in the first week a posting for your department appears. If you're a junior or a master's student, that is the cycle for summer 2028.

Which ING Internship Programs Should You Target?

ING Americas posts summer internships by department. Only one posting could be read in full before it came down, so the table shows that one and what ING says about the path that follows.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

ING's pages say little about eligibility. The one posting we could read in full states:

• Education: currently pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems or a related field.

• Knowledge: a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, and basic awareness of regulations such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FFIEC guidelines and NYDFS Part 500.

• Tools (preferred): exposure to SIEM and endpoint tools, Power BI, ServiceNow, and basic scripting such as Python.

• Class year, GPA and work authorization: not stated on ING's own pages we could read. Read these lines on each posting when it goes up.

Is the GPA a Hard Cutoff at ING?

We can't say. The posting we read states no GPA, and the others came down before we could read them. Some job boards and university pages repeat a minimum GPA for other ING departments, but those aren't ING's own pages, so we don't use them. Check each posting's qualifications line when it appears, and treat any GPA you see on a third-party copy as unconfirmed.

What Skills Does ING Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We could read one ING Americas internship posting, so we can't give a skill frequency. That posting, in information security, lists security event monitoring with SIEM tools, threat intelligence and vulnerability analysis, Power BI dashboards, basic incident response and control documentation. It also asks for "excellent presentation skills" and Microsoft 365, and prefers Python scripting. ING's other departments will ask for different skills, so read the requirements for your own department.
