Last updated: October 2026
Enterprise Mobility had about 520 internship postings live on its own US careers board on 3 October 2026. That's a lot of open doors, and the timing is easy to get wrong. Summer 2027 is the main cohort, with 225 postings that name summer in the title, but it isn't the nearest door. A winter cohort starting 17 December 2026 and spring 2027 cohorts starting in January and February are open right now too, many of them part-time around classes. Almost all are paid Management Trainee internships in Enterprise, National and Alamo rental branches, and the summer postings that list pay show $14 to $25 an hour, with a median of $17. Enterprise Mobility is privately held by the Taylor family of St. Louis and reports nearly $39 billion in revenue and a fleet of 2.4 million vehicles with its affiliate Enterprise Fleet Management.

What Is an Enterprise Mobility Internship?
An Enterprise Mobility internship is usually a paid Management Trainee internship in a local rental branch of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National or Alamo. The postings say interns "take on the same challenges as our first and second year full-time professionals": serving customers, managing the vehicle fleet, selling protection products and building marketing plans, with intern projects and friendly competition between branches. Spring and fall interns often work part-time around classes. Beyond the branches, Enterprise posts Accounting internships at regional groups and a 10-week IT internship at its St. Louis headquarters for software, data and business analysis students. The company operates more than 10,000 rental locations in over 90 countries and territories.

When Do Enterprise Mobility Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Enterprise doesn't run one recruiting season. It runs several cohorts a year, each posted a few months ahead. The summer 2027 postings went up from 14 July 2026, with a median posting date of 14 September, for internships starting in mid-May 2027, a lead time of about 8 months. Spring 2027 postings went up between August and late September 2026 for January and February starts, about 4 months ahead, and the winter cohort that starts 17 December was posted in late August and early September. Applications for summer 2028 are expected from about mid-July 2027, with the main wave in September 2027.
Applications are open right now for three cohorts: winter 2026–27 (from 17 December), spring 2027 (from January or February) and summer 2027. About 520 internship postings were live on 3 October, and new ones were still going up that week.
The best weeks to apply for spring and summer 2027. Branch groups fill as they go, so earlier applicants get more choice of location. Expect a recruiter call, a branch interview and a final HR interview.
Winter and spring cohorts start. Spring interns go through the same training as full-time Management Trainees, often part-time around classes.
Summer 2027 hiring continues. Students report interviews in the spring and even an interview request within a day of applying in early May, so late applicants still have options.
Summer interns start in mid-May for about 10 to 12 weeks; the St. Louis IT internship runs 24 May to 30 July 2027. Applications for summer 2028 are expected from about mid-July 2027.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Enterprise hires on a rolling basis, one branch group at a time, and none of its postings states a deadline. The date field you may see on a posting is a 12-month expiry set by the job board, not a closing date. Rolling hiring rewards early applicants in a specific way here: each city's roles fill independently, so the student who applies in October chooses between several nearby branches, while the student who applies in April takes whatever is left. The cohorts also overlap. If you can work part-time this winter or spring, those cohorts are open now and lead straight into the summer program in some groups. Apply as soon as you've picked the cohort and city that fit you.
Which Enterprise Mobility Internship Programs Should You Target?
Most Enterprise internships are Management Trainee roles, but the cohort you choose changes your schedule.

| Management Trainee Internship, spring 2027 | Same training as full-time Management Trainees | January to March or April, often 15 to 25 hrs/week | $16–$22/hr |
| Winter and fall-winter internships | Branch internships across the holidays and early spring | From 17 December 2026 | $19–$22/hr (as of 27 Sep) |
| Accounting Internship | Financial training and an introduction to business management | Summer 2027 at regional groups | $15–$25/hr by group |

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Requirements are set by each regional group, so read the posting for your city. Across the 225 summer 2027 postings:
• Class year: mostly rising seniors graduating by May 2028; 33 summer postings explicitly accept rising juniors.
• Driver's license: 208 of 225 require a valid license; most allow no more than 2 moving violations or at-fault accidents in 3 years (some allow 3) and no drug or alcohol related conviction in the past 5 years.
• Experience: 96 postings set a minimum, usually 3 or 6 months in customer service, sales, management or leadership.
• Location: you must live in or relocate to the branch area; IT interns must live in the St. Louis area.
• Work authorization: every posting requires US work authorization without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Does Your Driving Record Really Matter?
Yes. It's the most common hard requirement on the branch postings, because interns drive customers and move vehicles every day. Check your record before you apply. If you're over the limit, the St. Louis IT internships and some Accounting internships don't center on driving, so read those postings instead.
What Skills Does Enterprise Mobility Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Enterprise's branch postings share one template, so the same things show up almost everywhere: building leadership skills, managing a fleet of vehicles, developing marketing strategies and working in a team. The real filters are practical. Most postings require a clean driving record, more than half mention a customer service or sales background, and 96 set a minimum amount of prior work experience. Accounting and IT internships add Excel, financial training or technical skills.

How Is Demand for Operations Interns Moving Right Now?
Operations intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 3,952 in August
Operations internships opened in September across most employers. Enterprise's extra winter and spring cohorts mean you can start sooner than with most of them.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each row pairs a skill from Enterprise's postings with a remote Externship where you finish a real company project.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Operations & people management | Running a branch: staffing, fleet and daily operations | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| Marketing strategy | "develop marketing strategies" in the Management Internship description | TikTok Social Media Content & Brand Strategy |
| Customer insight & sales | Customer service and sales experience required by many groups | Consumer Behavior Insights with Generous Brands |
| Business management | Learning "what it takes to run a successful business" | Corporate Strategy mentored by Eric Ries |
| Accounting & financial analysis | Accounting internships: financial training and Excel | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis |
For the branch internships, a project that shows you can manage people, numbers and customers carries more weight than any single software skill.
What Is the Enterprise Mobility Application and Interview Process Like?
Enterprise doesn't publish a fixed process, and it varies by regional group. Students describe it like this:
1. Apply to a specific city. Each branch group posts its own internship, so apply to the one where you can live.
2. Recruiter contact. One student who applied in early May 2025 got an interview request within a day.
3. Branch interview. You'll meet branch or area management, sometimes more than once.
4. Final HR interview. A student in February 2026 described a second branch interview followed by a final HR interview.
5. Offer and orientation. Some groups set fixed orientation and training dates that you must attend.
Prepare examples about handling an upset customer, working toward a sales goal and leading a team, since the role covers all three.
What Students on Reddit Say
Current and former Enterprise employees answer intern questions on r/EnterpriseCarRental, and they're frank about the hours.
A student who'd finished a second branch interview and was waiting on the final HR round asked whether the training is as tough as people say. Replies said it depends on the group: some cap interns at 40 hours a week, and interns can later move toward accounting or business management.
Former Management Trainees said full-time trainees often work 47 to 50 or more hours, while interns tend to work fewer. Summer is full-time and part-time is common if you're in school. One commenter started as an intern and is now a branch manager.
A student who applied in early May got an interview request within a day for that same summer. Commenters described the daily work as checking cars in and out, cleaning vehicles and selling add-ons. One current trainee said Enterprise IT doesn't hire from the branch track.
How Do You Stand Out for an Enterprise Management Internship?
Three moves. First, choose your cohort deliberately. If you can work part-time this winter or spring, those cohorts are hiring now and give you the same training as full-time trainees before most students have even applied for summer. Second, lead with customer-facing experience. Many postings require 3 to 6 months in customer service, sales or leadership, so put retail, restaurant or campus leadership work near the top of your resume with a number attached. Third, be honest with yourself about the job. Students describe long days, car washing and sales targets alongside real management responsibility, and interviewers respond well to applicants who know that. If you want technology rather than sales, apply to the St. Louis IT internships directly; Enterprise doesn't publish a conversion rate for either path.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Enterprise internship?
No, summer 2026 is over. You don't have to wait a full year, though: on 3 October 2026 Enterprise had winter 2026–27 internships starting 17 December, spring 2027 internships starting in January or February, and about 225 summer 2027 postings open. Some fall 2026 part-time postings were also still live.
When should I apply for an Enterprise summer 2027 internship?
Now. Summer 2027 postings started on 14 July 2026 and most went up in September 2026. Hiring is rolling by branch group and continues into spring 2027, but applying in the fall gives you the widest choice of cities before branch groups fill their seats.
How much do Enterprise interns make?
The summer 2027 postings that list pay show $14 to $25 an hour, with a median of $17; 193 of 225 summer postings state a figure. Spring 2027 postings listed $16 to $22 an hour as of 27 September 2026. Pay depends on the city and regional group, and interns may earn performance incentives.
What are the requirements for an Enterprise internship?
Usually a current college student graduating by May 2028, with some groups accepting rising juniors. Most postings also require a valid driver's license with a clean recent record, and many ask for 3 to 6 months of customer service, sales or leadership experience. US work authorization without sponsorship is required.
What does an Enterprise Management Trainee intern do?
The same work as first-year Management Trainees: serving rental customers, managing vehicles, selling protection products and building marketing plans, plus intern projects and competitions between branches. Students on Reddit add that you'll also check cars in and out and help clean them, especially at busy branches.
Does Enterprise have tech internships?
Yes. The IT division at the St. Louis headquarters posted internships for summer 2027 in software engineering, data engineering, IT business analysis, support and IT-focused HR and learning roles. They run 24 May to 30 July 2027, hybrid, 40 hours a week, and you must live in the St. Louis area.
Are there part-time Enterprise internships during the school year?
Yes. Spring 2027 internships are often part-time, around 15 to 25 hours a week, and run from January into March or April. Fall internships are mostly part-time too. Spring interns go through the same training as full-time Management Trainees, which Enterprise calls a head start on that program.
Does an Enterprise internship lead to a full-time job?
It can. Enterprise describes its spring internship as a head start on the full-time Management Training Program, and Reddit commenters describe interns who later became branch managers. Enterprise doesn't publish a conversion rate, and outcomes depend on your regional group and your performance.
Enterprise is hiring for winter, spring and summer 2027 right now. Pick the cohort that fits and apply, and add a finished project to talk about: a remote Externship gives you real business work for the branch interview.
