Brown & Brown doesn't run one national internship, and that's the key to applying. On October 5, 2026 its Workday careers board had three internships open: the Brown & Brown Risk Solutions 2027 Summer Internship Program in Atlanta (posted September 24, 2026), and Technology Solutions and Finance internships at the Daytona Beach headquarters (posted September 17). Most other internships are posted office by office, from fall into January. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, or as late as January 2027 for some offices, and you intern in summer 2027.

Move first on Technology Solutions: last year's version of that posting came down on October 24 and warned it could close early because of applicant volume. Brown & Brown also now owns Risk Strategies, so students looking for that internship should search Brown & Brown's board (more on that below).

What Is a Brown & Brown Internship?

A Brown & Brown internship is a paid summer program at Brown & Brown, Inc., the Daytona Beach, Florida insurance broker. Most interns join a local office's property and casualty or employee benefits team, shadow sales and service work, and present a case study to office leaders; the Risk Solutions division places interns on specialty teams serving large national accounts, with a capstone new-business pitch. Brown & Brown reported $5.9 billion in 2025 revenue in its fourth-quarter results, and its 2025 annual report counts about 23,000 teammates after the August 2025 acquisition of Accession Risk Management Group, the parent of Risk Strategies. It calls its people teammates, not employees, and leaders, not managers.

When Do Brown & Brown Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Brown & Brown's headquarters and Risk Solutions internships for summer 2027 went up on September 17 and 24, 2026, about eight to nine months before a June start. Office internships follow their own clocks. Last cycle a Denver office's summer 2026 posting had already come down from Built In by November 21, 2025, while a Minneapolis office said interviews and offers would begin in January 2026, about five months before its May 27 start. So expect office postings for summer 2027 from now through January 2027, and watch the board rather than waiting for one national date.

Last year's Technology Solutions posting, which reads the same as this year's, had a posting end date of October 24, 2025 and warned that it "may come down early due to volume of applicants." And office internships are small: last cycle's Denver office posting was for two students and had already come down from Built In by late November. When an office posts, its seats go fast, so set a Workday alert and apply the week your office appears.

What Happened to the Risk Strategies Internship?

Risk Strategies, the Boston-based broker, is now part of Brown & Brown, which completed its acquisition of Risk Strategies' parent, Accession Risk Management Group, in August 2025. Since March 2026 the Risk Strategies careers page has redirected to Brown & Brown, and its old Workday site listed no jobs on October 5, 2026. Its internship was a 10-week, paid, on-site program started in 2018, placing interns in property and casualty or employee benefits teams with weekly leadership sessions and an intern summit in Boston. The summer 2025 posting paid $21 an hour, asked for rising seniors with a 3.0 GPA, went up January 13, 2025 and scheduled interviews in December and January. No Risk Strategies-branded internship was on Brown & Brown's board on October 5, 2026. If the program continues, watch that board for Boston and New York postings around December 2026 to January 2027; that projection rests on one cycle before the ownership change, so treat it as a guess.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Requirements differ by program, so read the posting you apply to:

• Class year: Risk Solutions wants rising juniors or seniors as of summer 2027. Technology Solutions accepts associate's or bachelor's students graduating December 2026 or later. Finance accepts associate's or bachelor's students in finance, accounting or business administration.

• GPA: Risk Solutions prefers 3.5 or higher; Technology Solutions and Finance set a 3.0 minimum.

• Majors: Risk Solutions lists risk management and insurance, finance, actuarial science, data analytics, marketing and general business; Technology Solutions prefers a STEM field.

• Work authorization: none of the three live postings states a sponsorship policy, so ask the recruiter before you invest in the process.

• Office internships: last cycle's office postings asked for enrolled students, with extracurricular involvement and prior work experience desired in Minneapolis, and were fully in-office in Denver.

Is the GPA a Hard Cutoff at Brown & Brown?

It depends on the program. The headquarters Technology Solutions and Finance postings list a 3.0 as a minimum, so treat it as a screen. Risk Solutions' 3.5 is written as preferred, which leaves room for a rising junior with strong activities or insurance coursework. Associate's-degree students qualify for the two headquarters internships, which is unusual among large brokers.

Finance wants accounting principles and Excel for reconciliations. Office interns learn coverage lines while supporting both sales and service.

What Is the Brown & Brown Application and Interview Process Like?

Brown & Brown doesn't publish an intern interview process. Based on its postings, expect these steps:

1. Apply on Workday. Search "intern" on the Careers site and apply to each posting separately; office internships appear as separate postings.

2. Recruiter or office review. Office internships are hired by the local office, so timing varies.

3. Interviews. Last cycle's Minneapolis office said its interview and offer process would begin in January; headquarters and Risk Solutions should move sooner.

4. Offer and start. Office internships ran about 10 weeks from late May or June last cycle.
