Accenture Internship 2027–2028: Tracks, Deadlines & How to Apply

Last updated: July 2026

Accenture runs one of the largest early-careers programs on the planet, roughly 791,000 employees serving clients in more than 120 countries, and its summer analyst class is the main feeder into full-time analyst roles. But it publishes no intern headcount and no acceptance rate, so the honest read is a big program that stays genuinely selective at the top consulting, strategy, and AI tracks. For the 2027–2028 cycle (you apply during 2027, you intern in summer 2028), postings are expected to open around August to September 2027, roughly eight to eleven months before a June 2028 start. And the window moves on a rolling basis, so timing is a filter before your resume ever is.

Quick Facts

Duration~10 weeks, June start (June 8 to Aug 14 in the 2026 cycle)
Compensation$32–$35/hr for Consulting, Strategy & AI Summer Analysts; $27–$35/hr for Technology (JD-posted ranges)

LocationsSan Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, New York, Houston, Arlington VA, Seattle, Nashville (ATC) and more; onsite-first
# Tracks8 applyable Summer Analyst tracks across Consulting, Strategy, Technology, AI & Data, ATC, TDP, Finance and Federal Services

Two things decide this application before your resume does: apply in the opening weeks, because review is rolling, and clear the hard gate, which is US work authorization that will not need visa sponsorship. Consulting and Strategy roles close earliest, around October; Technology and AI tracks stay open into the following spring.

Externships are short, remote professional experience programs where you finish a real project with a real company. For the Technology and AI tracks, the Wayfair AI Agent Engineering Externship builds the AI and data work those job descriptions ask for; for Consulting and Strategy, the Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship builds the structured problem-solving and client-ready analysis those interviews test. What Is a Accenture Internship?

An Accenture internship is a paid, roughly 10-week summer placement, branded internally by cycle (this one is NAELFY28), that puts students into real client work across eight applyable tracks, from management consulting to AI and data engineering. And the program earns its reputation: Accenture ranks #9 in North America on the Vault Consulting 50 for 2026, and interns rate the experience 4.2 out of 5 on Glassdoor, about 22% above the consulting-industry average. So it is not a coffee-run summer; it is the designed on-ramp to a full-time analyst offer.

When Do Accenture Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Accenture does not post a single national deadline; it opens roles on a rolling basis and closes them track by track. The pattern from two documented cycles: postings open in late summer of the year before the internship, Consulting and Strategy soft-close first (both closed on October 8 last cycle), and Technology, AI and Data, ATC, and TDP roles stay open far later, some into the following spring. So for summer 2028 you apply in fall 2027, roughly eight to eleven months before the June start, fast by consulting standards. But the rolling mechanic is the part that bites: the class fills while the window is still open.

Now · Summer 2026YOU ARE HERE

Applications for summer 2028 do not exist yet, and even the summer 2027 window is closing for Consulting and Strategy. This is the proof-building window: what sits on your resume when the portal opens decides whether the rolling review ever reaches you.

For the Technology and AI tracks, the Wayfair AI Agent Engineering Externship is a remote, real-company project; for Consulting and Strategy, the Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship builds the structured analysis those interviews reward.
Fall 2026 to spring 2027

This is a real shot at the summer 2027 (NAELFY27) internship, especially for Technology, AI and Data, ATC, and TDP roles, which historically stay open into the spring of the internship year. Everyone else: build a data or consulting project and a campus leadership story.

August to September 2027EXPECTEDROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

The summer 2028 window is expected to open here. Review is rolling from day one, so the earliest applications meet the most open seats. Consulting and Strategy will likely soft-close around October 2027.

October 2027 to Q2 2028EXPECTED

Rolling assessments and interviews: an online cognitive assessment, a recorded video interview, then a track interview and a virtual assessment centre. Technology, AI, ATC, and TDP roles keep taking applications well into this stretch.

Summer 2028

Roughly 10 weeks, early June to mid-August, onsite-first. Do the work well: a return offer is the designed end game, though Accenture publishes no conversion rate.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Accenture says it in the job description: the window stays open until a listed date, but if that date passes and the role is still posted, applications are still accepted. That is rolling recruiting in plain terms, and it cuts two ways. Early applicants get reviewed against the most open seats; late applicants compete for what is left after weeks of interviews. So treat the listed close date as a backstop, not a target. And Consulting and Strategy close first, sometimes within about six weeks, so those tracks punish waiting the hardest.

Which Accenture Internship Programs Should You Target?

Accenture organizes its work into five business groups, but the intern postings that actually open each year cluster into eight applyable Summer Analyst tracks. Which one should you target? The honest answer is the track whose skills you can already show, because every track interviews behaviorally against its own job description.

See every open role on the official student internships hub. And note the calendar split baked into this list: Consulting and Strategy recruit and close early, while the technology-leaning tracks keep hiring for months longer, good news if you are reading this late.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Accenture repeats the same core requirements across its Summer Analyst postings:

Class year: a penultimate-year student, usually the third year of a four-year degree, graduating roughly December 2028 to August 2029; the MBA program takes first-year MBAs.

GPA: most tracks publish no cutoff. Two do: Global AI & Data Developer lists a 3.3 minimum, and Strategy has asked for 3.3 or higher. The often-cited 3.0 floor is community consensus, not an Accenture rule.

Work authorization: every posting requires US work authorization that does not now or in the future need visa sponsorship. If you need sponsorship, these intern roles are effectively closed.

Prior experience: recent postings now list prior internship or work experience as a required qualification, a stricter bar than older cycles.

Does Accenture Have a GPA Cutoff for Interns?

For most tracks, no. The Consulting and Technology postings name no GPA minimum at all. But two competitive tracks do: Global AI and Data Developer requires a 3.3, and Strategy has preferred 3.3 or higher. So what actually gates the average applicant? Two harder things: the no-sponsorship rule is a real wall for international students who need a visa, and the newer prior-experience requirement rewards students who already have a project or internship on file. That last gap is the one you can still close before applications open.

What Skills Does Accenture Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Across ten real Accenture intern and Summer Analyst job descriptions, the pattern is unusually clear for a consulting firm. Data analysis leads at nine of ten postings, with communication and teamwork close behind at eight each. But look at what sits right behind the soft skills: Python and SQL at seven, data visualization and cloud platforms at six, and machine learning or Gen AI at five. What does that tell you? Accenture wants interns who can talk to clients and read data, then leans hard on a technical, AI-heavy toolkit a pure strategy shop would not ask for. So a consulting application here still benefits from a little code.

How Is Demand for Consulting Interns Moving Right Now?

Consulting intern hiring right now: July 2026

Across 1,392 US consulting-intern postings tracked this month · aggregate market data, all employers

=
1,392 US consulting-intern postings are open this week at about $84,000 advertised, the July 2026 baseline for this tracker
The title carries a premium: a narrower business-analyst intern pool (82 postings) advertises about $58,000, below the broad consulting-intern range
The bench you convert into is deep: 92,390 US management-consultant postings are open right now at about $114,000 advertised

July 2026 is this tracker's baseline month, so month-over-month movement first appears at the August update. The signal today is scale: consulting-intern demand is broad, and it feeds one of the largest analyst benches in professional services.

Method: aggregate analysis of US consulting-intern, business-analyst intern, and management-consultant postings via Adzuna, July 2026 baseline. The sample indexes a fraction of all US postings, so figures show direction and relative level, not total market share.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

And every skill in that chart maps to a remote Externship where you finish a real company project before the application window opens.

How close is the overlap? The Wayfair project is agent-engineering and business-intelligence work in the AI tracks' own vocabulary, and the Healthcare Operations Consulting project ends on the structured, client-ready analysis that Accenture's case interviews test.

What Is the Accenture Application and Interview Process Like?

Accenture does not publish a step list, but multiple recruiting guides describe the same US funnel, and it is worth correcting one myth up front:

1. Apply on the Accenture careers portal by searching the keyword "intern" and picking your track deliberately.

2. Resume and ATS screen, commonly reported at one to two weeks, longer in peak season.

3. Online assessment. In the US this is a Cappfinity-built cognitive and strengths assessment, usually untimed and about 60 to 90 minutes. Note the correction here: the "three gamified games in 20 minutes" test you will read about is Accenture's India and UK campus process, not the standard US flow.

4. Recorded video interview through HireVue, roughly three to eight competency questions that are AI-scored and then reviewed by a recruiter. Rehearse crisp STAR answers on camera.

5. Track interview and final round or virtual assessment centre. Consulting and Strategy run a business case plus behavioral questions; Technology, AI, and software roles add a technical and coding round.

6. Offer.

So the single most useful correction: for US intern roles, do not prep the gamified games. Prep the cognitive assessment, the HireVue video, and, for Strategy or Consulting, a clean case structure. Our HireVue question guide with a free AI mock tool runs the same on-camera time pressure.

How Do You Stand Out for a Program This Big?

Three moves, all doable before applications open. First, apply in the opening weeks, because rolling review plus early Consulting and Strategy closes makes timing itself a filter. Second, build the evidence the job descriptions name: a data or AI project for the technical tracks, a structured problem-solving artifact for consulting, not just a GPA line. Third, show up in the JD's own language, with a finished project that answers "tell me about a time you analyzed data" using work instead of a story. And clear the two hard gates early: confirm your work authorization and get one real prior experience on file, because postings now require it. Do all three and you interview like someone auditioning for the full-time analyst seat, which is exactly what the internship is.

What Other Companies Should You Consider?

Accenture sits in a crowded consulting field, so where else should you apply? It splits into the Big Four, which recruit on similar broad early-careers calendars, and the pure strategy firms, which run smaller and earlier.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Accenture internship?

Possibly, depending on the track. The Consulting and Strategy summer 2027 roles likely closed around October 2026, but Technology, AI and Data, ATC, and TDP roles historically stay open into the spring of the internship year. Check the careers portal for "intern." If it is full, the summer 2028 cycle opens around August 2027.

When do summer 2028 Accenture applications open and close?

Expect the window to open around August to September 2027. Consulting and Strategy soft-close first, near October 2027, while Technology, AI, ATC, and TDP roles stay open into the first half of 2028. Review is rolling throughout, so apply in the first weeks rather than near any listed close date.

What GPA do you need for an Accenture internship?

There is no universal cutoff. Most Summer Analyst tracks publish no GPA minimum at all. Two competitive tracks do: Global AI and Data Developer requires a 3.3, and Strategy has preferred 3.3 or higher. An often-quoted 3.0 floor is community consensus, not an official Accenture rule.

How much do Accenture interns get paid?

Accenture posts hourly ranges by role and city. Consulting, Strategy, and AI and Data Summer Analysts are listed at $32 to $35 an hour, and Technology Summer Analysts at $27 to $35. Community sources also report sign-on bonuses in the low thousands, though Accenture does not publish those figures.

Does Accenture sponsor visas for interns?

No. Every intern job description carries the same requirement: applicants must have US work authorization that does not now or in the future need visa sponsorship. If you would require sponsorship, these internship roles are effectively unavailable, and it is the single hardest gate on the application.

What year of school do you need to be in?

Accenture targets penultimate-year students, usually the third year of a four-year degree, graduating roughly December 2028 through August 2029 for the summer 2028 cycle. The MBA internship program recruits first-year MBAs. Rising seniors are the core audience for the Summer Analyst tracks covered here.

What is the Accenture interview and assessment process?

For US intern roles: application, resume screen, a Cappfinity cognitive and strengths assessment, a HireVue recorded video interview, then a track interview and virtual assessment centre. Consulting and Strategy add a business case; Technology and AI add a coding round. The gamified games test is India and UK only, not the US.

Do Accenture interns get return offers?

A return offer is the designed outcome; job descriptions call full-time conversion the internship's end game. But Accenture publishes no official conversion rate. Community guides estimate around 70 to 90 percent for strong performers, which you should read as unofficial. Perform as if the offer is earned, not guaranteed.

The window opens in the second half of 2027 and the review inside it is rolling, so the runway is now. Spend it building proof: a remote Externship turns "interested in consulting" into a finished project your application can point at.
