The first thing to know about a Watts Water Technologies internship is where to look. On 3 October 2026, Watts' main Workday careers site listed 215 open jobs and not one internship. Its student roles sit on a second site called Intern-External: 23 summer 2027 internships and 6 co-ops, posted between 8 and 30 September 2026. None has a closing date, and 28 of the 29 publish a pay range, $21 to $27 an hour for the summer roles.

In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, and you intern in summer 2027, or you take a co-op that starts in January 2027. Watts is a water-products manufacturer founded in 1874, with record 2025 sales of $2.44 billion, and its annual report names "a robust college internship program" as how it builds its early-career pipeline.

Watts' summer 2027 internships and January 2027 co-ops went up in September 2026 on a separate intern board, and a new one was added on 30 September. None has a closing date. The co-ops have to be filled before a January start, so they're the nearer door for engineering students.

Watts' internships span plant engineering, marketing, e-commerce and finance, and a finished project helps in any of them. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship fits Watts' e-commerce and marketplace internships, and the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship fits its plant and supply chain roles. What Is a Watts Water Technologies Internship?

A Watts Water Technologies internship is a paid summer placement at a NYSE-listed maker of plumbing, heating, flow control and water quality products, headquartered in North Andover, Massachusetts. Watts was founded in 1874 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and had about 5,700 employees at the end of 2025. Its reqs call the program the Watts Internship Program, "your chance to bring what you've learned in the classroom to life." Interns are hired into one role at one site: production and manufacturing engineering at plants in New York, Florida, Texas and North Carolina, or marketing, e-commerce, finance, IT and HR roles at headquarters. The reqs describe real project work, Lunch and Learns with company leaders and networking across functions. Watts also runs full-time Spring and Fall co-ops, and a Leadership Development Program for recent graduates.

When Do Watts Water Technologies Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Watts posted its summer 2027 internships early this year. All 23 went up between 8 and 30 September 2026, along with five January–June 2027 co-ops and a Spring 2027 trade compliance co-op. That's about eight to nine months of lead time to a summer start, and about three and a half months to a January co-op start. Last cycle looked later and more spread out: a summer 2026 BI analyst listing appeared around January 2026, an EHS safety internship was still being shared in March 2026, and the Blauvelt production engineering listing had already come down from Built In by 30 January. One cycle isn't a pattern, so treat September as this year's fact. Applications for summer 2027 are open now, and applications for the January–June 2027 co-ops are open too.

Applications are open right now: 23 summer 2027 internships and 6 co-ops on the Intern-External board, with no closing dates, and a third Fort Worth production engineering role was added on 30 September. Engineering students should look at the January co-ops first.

Winter 2026–27EXPECTED

Summer 2027 internships are expected to stay open until filled. Last cycle, at least one plant internship listing was gone by late January, so don't plan on a spring application.

January 2027

Co-ops start: full time, January to June 2027, mostly in North Andover and Franklin, New Hampshire.

Summer 2027

The summer internship at your assigned site, with real project work and Lunch and Learns with company leaders. Watts doesn't publish start dates or a conversion rate.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Watts doesn't publish deadlines, so the risk is roles closing quietly. None of the 23 summer 2027 reqs or 6 co-op reqs states a closing date, and each one is a single role at a single site. When it's filled, it comes down. Last cycle the Blauvelt production engineering internship listing had already been taken down by 30 January.

The co-ops are the sharper deadline. A January–June 2027 co-op has to be filled and onboarded before January, which leaves roughly October and November for applications and interviews. If you're an engineering student who can take a spring term, apply to those first.

Which Watts Water Technologies Internship Programs Should You Target?

Watts' 29 student reqs split into four groups. Each is a separate req at one site.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Watts sets requirements per req, so read the class-year line on each one:

• Class year: most reqs ask for a current sophomore, junior or senior; some narrow it, such as seniors for Strategic Marketing and rising juniors for Product Marketing Data Analyst.

• GPA: no GPA line on the summer internship reqs; the engineering co-ops say "minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred."

• Work authorization: 16 of the 29 reqs say you "must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future."

• Work model: plant engineering, quality and supply chain roles are on site, with time on the manufacturing floor in protective equipment; most headquarters roles are hybrid, in the office Monday to Wednesday; the two e-commerce roles and Total Rewards and HRIS are remote.

• Benefits: the reqs state that the full-time benefits package doesn't apply to internship roles.

Can International Students Apply?

Often not. 16 of Watts' 29 student reqs require US work authorization "without requiring sponsorship now or in the future," which rules out students who'd need a visa sponsor later. The line isn't on all of them, so read the qualifications section on the one you want before applying. Also check the site: Watts hires per location, and plant roles in Blauvelt, Fort Myers, Fort Worth and St Pauls need you on site every day.

What Skills Does Watts Water Technologies Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Watts' student reqs are written role by role, but the duties and qualifications sections share a pattern across all 29:

• Project and data work: almost every req describes supporting real projects (28 of 29), and 26 involve analyzing data or reporting results.

• How you work: accountability and ownership in 24, teamwork and cross-functional work in 22, attention to detail in 21.

• Tools and methods: Microsoft Excel or Office in 21, and process improvement, from cycle-time analysis on the plant floor to workflow fixes in the office, in 21.

Engineering roles add CAD on 5 reqs, and the analytics roles name Power BI, Tableau or SQL.

What Is the Watts Water Technologies Application and Interview Process Like?

Watts doesn't publish its interview process, so this is what its own pages show:

1. Go to the intern board. Use "Explore Opportunities" under Early Career on watts.com/careers, which opens the Intern-External Workday site. The main job search lists no internships.

2. Pick your site. Each req is one role at one location, so apply to the plant or office you can work at.

3. Check the class-year and sponsorship lines. Both vary by req and both are hard filters.

4. Apply on Workday or Handshake. Some of the same reqs also appear on Handshake; the Workday req is the original.

5. Interviews. Watts doesn't publish its interview format, and there's no first-hand account of it online that we could find.

Watts runs a Leadership Development Program for recent graduates, such as an Operations LDP at Watts Applied Solutions in Fort Worth, which is the natural next step after an internship.

What the Community Says

Watts internships barely come up on Reddit, so these cards draw on Glassdoor reviews instead.

A 2024 Video Production intern in North Andover gave the internship five stars, describing a fun work environment with interesting people to work with.

Glassdoor intern review, paraphrased

Older intern reviews, three of them from 2012 to 2017 and averaging 4 out of 5, praise skilled, friendly colleagues and good pay. The complaints were a heavy workload, work that could feel dull, and roles that only ran in summer.

Glassdoor intern reviews, paraphrased

Across all Watts employees, not just interns, Glassdoor reviewers are less positive: 43% would recommend the company to a friend, and work-life balance and culture both rate 2.8 out of 5.

How Do You Stand Out at Watts Water Technologies?

Three moves that fit how Watts hires.

First, apply on the right board and early. Most students who search Watts' main careers site find nothing and move on. Use the Intern-External board, and apply in the fall while all 29 reqs are fresh.

Second, match the site and the work. Each req is a specific job: timing assembly cycles and designing fixtures at the Fort Worth plant, Amazon marketplace analytics at headquarters, network work in Andover. Name that work in your resume and cover letter.

Third, engineering students should take the co-op seriously. A January–June 2027 co-op is six months of full-time work, it pays $22 to $26 an hour where stated, and it closes sooner than the summer roles.

Watts doesn't publish a conversion rate, but its annual report describes the internship program as how it builds an early-career pipeline.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Watts Water Technologies internship?

No. Summer 2026 is over and its reqs have closed. What's open now are Watts' summer 2027 internships and its January–June 2027 co-ops, all posted between 8 and 30 September 2026 on the Intern-External board. None lists a closing date, so apply this fall while they're still up.

Where do I find Watts internships?

On Watts' separate Workday site for students, Intern-External, linked as "Explore Opportunities" under Early Career on watts.com/careers. The main Watts job search had 215 open jobs and no internships on 3 October 2026, so searching it alone makes it look as if Watts isn't hiring interns.

When should I apply for a Watts summer 2027 internship?

Now. All 23 summer 2027 internships were posted between 8 and 30 September 2026, and none lists a closing date. Each req is one role at one site and comes down when it's filled. Last cycle, at least one plant internship listing was gone by late January.

How much do Watts interns get paid?

Watts publishes a pay range on almost every req. Summer 2027 internships pay $21 to $27 an hour, with most engineering and plant roles at $22 to $26 and most marketing roles at $21 to $23. Co-ops pay $22 to $26 an hour where stated. Full-time benefits don't apply to interns.

Does Watts offer co-ops?

Yes. On 3 October 2026 Watts had six co-op reqs: Product, Design and Sustaining Engineering, Research and Technology, Legal, and Trade Compliance, mostly full time from January to June 2027 in North Andover, Massachusetts, or Franklin, New Hampshire. The engineering co-ops prefer a 3.0 GPA.

Where are Watts internships located?

Headquarters roles are in North Andover and Andover, Massachusetts. Plant engineering, quality and supply chain internships are in Blauvelt, New York, Fort Myers, Florida, Fort Worth, Texas and St Pauls, North Carolina. One HR role is based in Boston, and the two e-commerce internships are remote.

Can international students apply for Watts internships?

Often not. 16 of Watts' 29 student reqs say applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future, which rules out students who'd need visa sponsorship later. Read the qualifications on the specific req, since the line isn't on every one.

Are Watts internships remote?

A few are. The E-Commerce Analytics and Web, Amazon and E-Commerce Marketplace, and Total Rewards and HRIS internships are remote. Many North Andover and Fort Worth office roles are hybrid, in the office Monday to Wednesday, and plant engineering roles are fully on site.

Watts' summer 2027 internships and January co-ops are open now on the Intern-External board, so apply this fall. While you wait to hear back, a remote Externship gives you a finished project to bring to the interview.
