Last updated: October 2026
Sodexo has 35 intern-titled requisitions open right now, but only 9 are Strategic Interns, the corporate-style track. Those list $17.61 to $25.17 an hour in places like Denver, Salem, Saint Paul, Rochester and Geneva, NY. The other 26 are campus dining interns, mostly part-time, at $8.50 to $20. Sodexo says its paid internships run in spring and summer, and no posting states a deadline. In plain words: you apply to a specific site now, you intern in spring or summer 2027, and the earlier you apply the better.
Quick Facts
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where to apply | jobs.us.sodexo.com, searching the title "Intern". The "Explore current openings" button on Sodexo's student internship page points to a retired job system and returns an error. The site's Early Careers filter is mostly hourly "Student Worker" jobs, which are not internships |
| Application window (2027–28) | Open now (checked October 26, 2026): 9 Strategic Interns and 26 campus interns, each posted for one site. Sodexo says its paid internships run in the spring and summer. No posting states a deadline. Spring and summer 2028: expected on a similar rolling basis from fall 2027, low confidence, because the job site shows only current postings |
| Rolling? | Yes, site by site. We don't use the job site's posting dates: 26 campus postings carry the identical timestamp, which looks like a bulk refresh |
| Eligibility | Strategic Interns: a current college student studying hospitality or food management, facilities management, engineering, communications, human resources, accounting, marketing or a related program. Campus interns: pursuing a college degree with interest in a hospitality or food service career, and able to stand for shifts over 8 hours and lift 35 pounds often. GPA and work authorization aren't stated |
| Duration | Not stated on most postings. Sodexo describes full-time and part-time internships. One Strategic role (Healthcare Technology Management) is one day a week from September 2026 to May 2027 |
| Compensation | Strategic Interns: $17.61 to $22.79 an hour (6 postings) or $19.45 to $25.17 (Salem, Saint Paul, Denver). Campus interns: $8.50 to $20, set per account. Two campus postings show $0 placeholders, which we ignore. Strategic postings list medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) match, paid time off and tuition reimbursement as benefits that "may include" |
| Return offers | Not published. Sodexo gives no conversion rate or class size |
| Locations | At client sites: 35 postings in 22 states, from Oregon and Colorado to Massachusetts and New York. Sodexo mentions hybrid and remote internships, but each of the 35 names a city |
| # Programs | 2 tracks: the Sodexo Strategic Internship Program (9 postings) and campus interns (26 postings: 22 part-time, 4 full-time). The Sodexo Dietetic Internship is a separate graduate-level program, not covered here |
The row that matters most: 35 intern requisitions are open with no stated deadline, but only 9 are Strategic Interns, and the rest are mostly part-time campus dining roles.
Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most often in 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship practices the operations analysis behind facilities and food service sites, and the Health-Ade (Generous Brands) Consumer Behavior & Insights Externship works on food brand consumer insights. What Is a Sodexo Internship?
A Sodexo internship is a paid placement with Sodexo USA, the North Bethesda, Maryland food services and facilities company, and it comes in two forms. The Sodexo Strategic Internship Program offers full-time and part-time interns a structured role in contract management services at a client site, such as a hospital or corporate office. Campus interns work part-time at university dining accounts, doing a bit of everything from service to marketing. Sodexo's page says it employs more than 104,000 people in the US, but the figure is undated. Sodexo doesn't publish a class size.

When Do Sodexo Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Sodexo has no national intern window. It posts each internship for a single site on its job site, and says paid internships run in the spring and summer. We couldn't measure a lead time, since most postings print no start date, and the job site's posting dates are unusable because 26 campus postings share one timestamp. One Strategic role names its term: one day a week from September 2026 to May 2027. We couldn't find prior-cycle dates, because the job site lists only current postings. For 2028, treat the pattern as rolling, with low confidence.
Applications are open. Sodexo's job site shows 35 intern-titled requisitions: 9 Strategic Interns and 26 campus interns, in 22 states.
Apply while your site's posting is live. No deadline is printed, but each requisition belongs to one client site and can close when it's filled. One Strategic role already runs through May 2027.
Campus postings say interview details come during the interview process. Sodexo publishes no stages, tests or timing.
Sodexo's named terms. Strategic Interns can be full-time or part-time, and most postings print no start date, so confirm hours and dates with the site manager.
Spring and summer 2028 postings expected on the same rolling, site-by-site basis, with low confidence: we have no prior-cycle dates.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Sodexo's mode is rolling and local. No posting names a close date, but each requisition is tied to one client site, such as a campus dining account or a facilities contract, and a filled site stops hiring. There's no national cutoff to wait for, and no second wave to count on. Find the site you can work at, apply now, and use the job site's own title search for "Intern" rather than the Early Careers filter.
Which Sodexo Internship Programs Should You Target?
Sodexo's open internships split into five job titles. The Strategic Interns come first because they are the corporate-style track.
| Title | Focus | Where | Pay and key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sodexo Strategic Intern, Facilities Management (8 postings) | Structured internship in contract management services: individual tasks and projects supporting business units | Geneva NY, Rochester NY, Crawfordsville IN, Colorado Springs CO, Ada OH, Salem OR, Saint Paul MN, Denver CO | $17.61 to $22.79/hr; $19.45 to $25.17 in Salem, Saint Paul and Denver |
| Sodexo Strategic Intern, Healthcare Technology Management | Supports Froedtert Health in Milwaukee | Manitowoc, WI listing | $17.61 to $22.79/hr; one day a week, September 2026 to May 2027 |
| Campus Intern (15 postings) | Cross-functional learning at a university dining account: food service, facilities, accounting, HR, marketing | University accounts in 10 states | $8.50 to $20/hr; part-time in 12, full-time in 3 |
| Campus Marketing Intern (10 postings) | Same template with a marketing focus | University accounts in 9 states, from Massachusetts to Louisiana | $12 to $20/hr; part-time in 9, full-time in 1 |
| Sodexo Intern (1 posting) | Same campus template | University of Cincinnati, OH | $15/hr; part-time |
Not internships: the roughly 130 hourly "Student Worker" postings under Early Careers, and the Sodexo Dietetic Internship, a separate graduate-level program for future dietitians. Search jobs.us.sodexo.com by title.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
These come from the 35 postings and the five templates behind them, which we read on October 26, 2026.
• Strategic Interns: a current college student with studies in hospitality or food management, facilities management, engineering, communications, human resources, accounting, marketing or another industry-related program.
• Campus interns: pursuing a college degree, with a strong interest in a career in hospitality or food service.
• Physical demands (campus roles): standing or walking for shifts that may exceed 8 hours, frequently lifting 35 pounds and occasionally 50.
• Location: you work at the client site, so you need to live near it. All 35 postings name a city.
• GPA, class year and work authorization: not stated in the postings we read.

Are Campus Interns Really Internships?
They carry the title, but they are mostly part-time hourly roles at university dining accounts, paid between $8.50 and $20, and the posting says the role "may be part of a formal Sodexo internship program". Treat them as entry-level experience in food service, not a rotational corporate program. The Strategic Interns are the closer match to a traditional business internship.
What Skills Does Sodexo Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
The 35 postings come from five templates, so a keyword chart would only measure copy and paste. What they ask for: Strategic Interns want enthusiasm for learning, organizational and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving and interest in contract management. Campus interns follow safety standards, support food service and facilities teams, help with events, and handle inventory, data entry and reporting.
Note: No skill chart: the 35 intern postings use five repeated templates, so counts would measure the templates, not demand. Source: Sodexo's job site, October 26, 2026.
How Is Demand for Operations Interns Moving Right Now?
Operations intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 3,952 in August
For Sodexo applicants: Sodexo's job site listed about 4,100 openings on October 26, 2026, and 35 had "intern" in the title, under 1 percent, so the internships are a small slice of its hiring.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size.
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill in the postings maps to a remote Externship you can finish while the roles are open.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Operations and facilities analysis | Strategic Intern: support business units in contract management services | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| Marketing and brand insight | Campus Marketing Intern posting (10 of 35) | Health-Ade (Generous Brands) Consumer Behavior & Insights |
| Problem-solving and strategy | Strategic Intern: proactive problem-solving and attention to detail | Lean Startup Co. Corporate Strategy Externship Mentored by Eric Ries |
| Data entry and reporting | Campus Intern: inventory, data entry, filing and reporting | SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games |
These are adjacent skills. No open Externship covers food service operations or safety standards, so the rows build the analysis and reporting habits around the work.
What Is the Sodexo Application and Interview Process Like?
Sodexo publishes the application route but not the stages.
1. Find your site. Search jobs.us.sodexo.com for "Intern" and pick the account you can work at.
2. Apply. Click Apply Now on the posting. You can also join Sodexo's talent community for alerts.
3. Interview. Campus postings say details are provided during the interview process.
4. Offer and start. Hours, dates and shifts are set by the site.
Sodexo's own page doesn't give stages, tests or timing, and we found no interview reports for these tracks.
What We Found on Reddit
Nothing we can use. Almost every Reddit thread about a Sodexo internship concerns the Sodexo Dietetic Internship, a separate graduate-level program, and none described the Strategic or campus internships. We'd rather show no quotes than borrow the wrong program's experience.
How Do You Stand Out for a Site-by-Site Hire?
First, pick a specific site and say why. Sodexo hires for one account at a time, so name the hospital, campus or facility and what you'd do there. Second, match the major list: the Strategic postings name hospitality, facilities, engineering, communications, HR, accounting and marketing, so lead with the one you study. Third, show reliability, since campus roles involve long shifts and lifting. Sodexo doesn't publish a class size, applicant counts or a conversion rate, and its page says only that internships can help you pursue a career with Sodexo.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Sodexo internship?
No. Summer 2026 is over. Sodexo has no single summer cycle, though: it posts internships site by site, and on October 26, 2026 its job site listed 35 open intern requisitions, 9 Strategic Interns and 26 campus interns, for spring and summer 2027.
Does Sodexo offer paid internships?
Yes. Sodexo says its Strategic Internship Program offers full-time and part-time paid internships in the spring and summer. The postings list $17.61 to $25.17 an hour for Strategic Interns and $8.50 to $20 for campus interns, depending on the site and track.
When do Sodexo internship applications open?
There's no single window. Sodexo posts each internship for one client site on jobs.us.sodexo.com, and 35 were open on October 26, 2026 with no stated deadline. Its page says paid internships run in the spring and summer, so apply once your site's posting appears.
How much do Sodexo interns make?
Strategic Interns list $17.61 to $22.79 an hour, or $19.45 to $25.17 in Salem, Saint Paul and Denver. Campus interns list $8.50 to $20, set per account. Two campus postings show $0 placeholders, which aren't real pay. All figures come from Sodexo's own postings.
Are Sodexo Student Worker jobs internships?
No. The roughly 130 Student Worker postings under Early Careers are hourly campus jobs, not internships, and we didn't count them. Search the job site for the title "Intern" instead. Campus Intern postings are mostly part-time, while Strategic Intern postings are the corporate-style track.
Is the Sodexo Dietetic Internship the same thing?
No. The Sodexo Dietetic Internship is a separate, graduate-level supervised practice program for future registered dietitians, with its own application. It isn't the Strategic or campus internship covered here, so search its own site if you're a dietetics student, not Sodexo's job site.
Are Sodexo internships remote?
Mostly not. Sodexo's page mentions hybrid and remote opportunities, but all 35 current intern postings name a city and work at a client site, in 22 states. You need to live near the site, so check the location before you apply.
Does Sodexo convert interns to full-time employees?
Sodexo publishes no conversion rate. Its page says internships can help you pursue a career with Sodexo, and the Strategic postings list career growth opportunities. Treat any percentage you see on job-board or review sites as unverified, and ask the site manager about openings.
Find the Sodexo site you can work at and apply this week. While you wait to hear back, a remote Externship gives you a finished operations or marketing project to talk about in the interview.
