SC&H's summer 2027 internships are open now, and so are two nearer programs. On October 12, 2026, the firm's job board listed nine Summer 2027 intern postings, all dated September 7, 2026: Risk, Consultant, Enterprise Advisory & Transformation, two Technology tracks, Capital, Special Situations in two cities, and Wealth. It also listed a 2027 Busy Season Tax Intern role that runs January to mid-April 2027, and SC&H's own three-day Externship for sophomores in January 2027. Every internship posting states the same pay, $30 to $35 an hour.
In plain words: you apply from September 2026 and intern in summer 2027, starting the Monday after Memorial Day. Applications are rolling with no deadline. The summer program lasts ten weeks on a four-day week of about 30 to 32 hours.
What Is an SC&H Internship?
An SC&H internship is a paid, in-person position at SC&H Group, a 100% employee-owned accounting, consulting, technology, investment banking and wealth firm headquartered in Hunt Valley (Sparks), Maryland, north of Baltimore. The firm was founded in 1991 as a regional audit and tax practice and now describes itself as "430+ professionals" across 13 practices. Summer interns join one service line for ten weeks and work on client projects with a dedicated mentor. Vault ranks the program #3 on its 2026 Best Consulting Internships list and lists the class at 21 to 50 interns. The summer week is four days and about 30 to 32 hours, and the firm says it doesn't offer a full 40-hour week to interns. Offices are in Maryland, Tysons Corner, Philadelphia and Chicago.
When Do SC&H Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
SC&H posted its nine Summer 2027 intern roles on September 7, 2026. The firm's Early Careers page says the internship "begins the Monday after Memorial Day", which we read as June 7, 2027, so the lead time is about nine months. Two shorter-lead programs sit alongside it. The 2027 Busy Season Tax Intern role was posted October 8, 2026 for a January 2027 start, about three months ahead. SC&H's sophomore Externship was posted September 22, 2026 for three days in January 2027, and the firm says those positions are posted "each fall". Applications for summer 2028 are expected to open in early September 2027. That projection rests on one dated cycle, so treat it as an estimate.
SC&H posted all nine Summer 2027 intern roles on the same day. Its Winter 2027 sophomore Externship followed on September 22 and the 2027 Busy Season Tax Intern role on October 8.
Applications for summer 2027 are open on all nine tracks, and so are the busy-season tax internship (January to mid-April 2027) and the sophomore Externship (January 2027). None has a deadline.
SC&H's three-day Externship for 25 sophomores takes place in January 2027. The busy-season tax internship runs from January to mid-April 2027, two full days a week in the Hunt Valley office.
The summer 2027 internship is expected to start on Monday, June 7, 2027, following the firm's Monday-after-Memorial-Day rule. Week one is a five-day orientation, then the four-day week begins. The program is ten weeks, and the firm prefers at least eight.
Applications for summer 2028 are expected to open in early September 2027, about nine months before the start. The Winter 2028 sophomore Externship is expected to post in the fall too.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
SC&H's hiring is rolling. None of the ten internship postings has a closing date. The firm's entry on Vault says "Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all positions are filled", and its own FAQ adds that it recruits year-round for its service lines. Year-round doesn't mean unlimited. Vault lists the summer class at 21 to 50 interns, spread across nine postings, so some service lines may have only a few seats. The summer roles have been open since September 7, and most of the firm's fall campus events have already happened. A seat that's filled in October won't be there in January. Apply to your service line now, and treat the busy-season tax role as urgent because it starts in January.

Each SC&H service line posts its own internship and interviews its own candidates. No summer 2027 audit or tax internship is listed as of October 12, 2026, though the firm says it recruits year-round.

SC&H's Externship is a separate program, not an internship: three days on site each January for 25 sophomores, with a one-time $550 stipend. The firm says externs are invited to its Career Day and may be considered for internships the following summer. Details are on the Early Careers page.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The rules come from the ten internship postings and the firm's Early Careers FAQ:
• Class year: the firm says internships are "available to Juniors & Seniors in college". Its student programs begin in sophomore year with the Externship.
• GPA: 3.4 or above for Risk, Consultant, Enterprise Advisory & Transformation and Busy Season Tax. 3.6 or above for Capital, Special Situations and Wealth. The two Technology postings don't state a GPA.
• Major: business-related majors on most tracks. Risk names finance or information systems, the Technology postings name business, technology or engineering, and tax names accounting or finance.
• Experience: seven postings ask for "previous successful business experience" and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Documents: a resume and your most recent unofficial transcript.
• Work authorization: the firm's FAQ says it's "unable to consider candidates that require sponsorship either now or in the future including those that are OPT or CPT eligible".
• Location: in person, with reliable transportation to the service line's office.
Is the GPA a Hard Cutoff at SC&H?
It's written as one. The postings say "GPA of 3.4 or above" or "GPA of 3.6 or above" in the requirements list, and one says "a minimum GPA of 3.4". None uses the word preferred, and the application asks for a transcript. The split matters: the investment banking and wealth tracks set the higher bar. Vault's profile shows a 3.5 to 3.99 band and juniors only, which doesn't match the postings, so go by the postings. The sponsorship rule is the other firm line. It covers externs, interns and new staff, and it names OPT and CPT.

What Skills Does SC&H Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
All ten internship postings ask for communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Eight share one skills block: "superb verbal communication, business writing, and interpersonal skills" and "excellent analytical, organization, and project management skills". Seven want Microsoft Office proficiency and prior business experience, and the two Special Situations postings name Excel and PowerPoint. Track-specific asks are lighter on tools. What Is the SC&H Application and Interview Process Like?
SC&H publishes four steps on its Early Careers page, and interns surveyed by Vault describe the interviews:
1. Apply for a position. Apply online to one service line's posting with a resume and your most recent unofficial transcript. The firm says a career fair conversation doesn't replace the online application.
2. Resume review. Talent Acquisition reviews applications and contacts the candidates it wants to advance.
3. Interview with the team. Interviews are with leaders from your chosen service line, online or in person. Interns describe two 30-minute conversations.
4. Receive an offer. Interns report hearing back a few weeks after the second interview.

What Interns Say on Vault
Reddit has only a one-line mention of an SC&H internship from 2012, so these cards come from Vault's 2026 intern survey instead.
Interns describe two interviews of about 30 minutes each. The first explained what the firm and the service line do, and the second was conversational. An offer came a few weeks later.
The week was 32 hours over four days, and interns liked having Fridays off. Work depended on the service line: benefit plan audit testing, a client dashboard mock-up in OneStream, or a real pitch for a banking prospect.
Interns say they were treated like full-time staff and expect return offers to be likely. The downsides they name: not always enough work, slow trainings, and for one banking intern, wanting more than 32 hours.
How Do You Stand Out for an SC&H Internship?
Three moves. First, choose the service line before you apply. Each track is its own posting with its own interviewers, and one surveyed intern wished they'd researched the other service lines more. Second, check the gate for that track. It's a 3.4 GPA for risk, consulting and tax and a 3.6 for Capital, Special Situations and Wealth, with a transcript attached and no sponsorship of any kind. Third, prepare for the track's interview. Most are conversational. The banking tracks add the three financial statements and valuation methods, so practice those out loud. On offers, SC&H declines to give a number. Its FAQ says "a significant number of our interns come back to join us as full-time employees" and that conversion varies with class size and business needs. It publishes no applicant count.
