Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK) is the Palo Alto data-security company that closed fiscal 2026 with $1.316 billion in revenue and subscription ARR up 34% to $1.46 billion. Its US intern program runs two cohorts, a 12-week summer program and a January-May winter software engineering term, and in its 2025 RippleMatch Campus Forward Award profile Rubrik reported a 72% full-time conversion rate and a 92% offer acceptance rate for its most recent summer class. On 3 October 2026 two US roles were open: the Software Engineering Winter Internship (11 January - 7 May 2027) and a Product Growth Intern (MBA), Summer 2027, posted 1 October. What Is a Rubrik Internship?
A Rubrik internship is a paid, full-time, on-site placement at Rubrik's Palo Alto headquarters, where interns join real teams as "a full member of the engineering team" or the product organization. Software engineering interns work on projects such as machine learning models for core features, internal engineering tools and new security features. The program adds mentors, technical workshops, lunch-and-learns, job shadowing, volunteer events and end-of-term presentations. Rubrik runs a 12-week summer program and a separate January-May winter term for software engineers, which is a semester away from campus. Rubrik also hires interns in India under separate reqs and rules.
When Do Rubrik Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Rubrik runs more than one calendar. The Winter 2027 SWE req went up on 18 September 2026, about four months before its 11 January start; last year's winter req came down on 15 December 2025. Summer SWE posts in the fall: a first-hand r/csMajors applicant said last year's went up around 20 September 2025, so applications for summer 2027 SWE are expected any day (as of 3 October it's about two weeks later than that). Summer product and AI roles were later last cycle, posted 27 February to 3 April 2026, but this year's MBA Product Growth role went up early, on 1 October 2026.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Rubrik's pipeline moves fast once you apply. One applicant got the HackerRank OA about an hour after matching on RippleMatch; another got it nine hours after applying. Rubrik's RippleMatch profile says candidates hear back within two business days at every stage. With no deadline on the req, the seats fill as strong candidates clear the rounds, and last year's summer SWE posting was taken down in mid-March after interviews that started in the fall. Applying in the first week means your OA lands while the full class is still open.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
From the live Winter 2027 SWE req and its application form:
• Degree: pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Graduation window (winter): December 2027 or Spring 2028, and available full time on site from 11 January to 7 May 2027.
• Assessment: applicants agree to a 90-minute HackerRank assessment and type-sign an NDA in the form.
• Work authorization: the form asks whether you'll need visa sponsorship and whether your university is in the US; Rubrik doesn't state its policy on the req.
• GPA: none stated on any US req.
Should You Apply to the Winter Cohort Instead of Summer?
If you can take a spring semester off campus, the winter term is worth a serious look. It's the only Rubrik SWE role open today, it runs nearly four months full time on the same Palo Alto teams, and it draws from a narrower pool because most students can't step away from classes. The catch is the graduation window: December 2027 or Spring 2028 only. Check with your school about co-op credit and housing before you commit.

What Skills Does Rubrik Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

2. Online assessment: a proctored 90-minute HackerRank; the applicant reported three problems, two at LeetCode medium to hard level plus a harder math problem.
3. Recruiter screen: about 30 minutes, mostly behavioral and resume.
4. Technical rounds: a one-hour algorithms interview, a short prep call, then a one-hour practical coding round focused on clean code.
5. People-leader interview: about 45 minutes of deep questions on your resume, with next-day decisions between stages.
