Last updated: October 2026

Cohesity's summer 2027 US internships aren't posted yet. The San Jose data security company says its Americas internships are summer-only, and last cycle its first US intern requisition went live on September 15, 2025. On October 26, 2026 Cohesity's Workday board lists 173 openings and none is an internship, so this cycle is running at least six weeks behind last year's start. In plain words: you apply when the roles post, most likely this winter, you intern in summer 2027, and the date hasn't been announced, so check the board weekly.

What Is a Cohesity Internship?

A Cohesity internship is a paid summer placement in the Cohesity NextGen Intern Program. Cohesity, based in San Jose, California, sells data security and data protection software and completed its combination with Veritas' enterprise data protection business on December 10, 2024. Veritas isn't a separate employer here: Cohesity's board covers the combined company. Cohesity says interns own meaningful projects from day one, with a dedicated mentor, weekly intern events and executive tech talks. Last cycle's US roles spanned sales, finance and software. Cohesity doesn't publish a class size.

When Do Cohesity Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Cohesity's last US intern wave started in mid-September. The first summer 2026 requisition, an Inside Sales Rep Intern in Heathrow, Florida, had a September 15, 2025 start date in Cohesity's job system, and Wayback Machine captures first show the other roles between September 20 and October 11, 2025 (a capture date is an upper bound on the posting date). That's roughly 9 months ahead of a June 2026 start, assuming June, since the postings we saw print no start date. This year no equivalent requisition exists on October 26, so the wave is at least six weeks later than last year's front edge.

No summer 2027 US intern requisition is posted. Cohesity's Workday board lists 173 openings, none intern-titled. A probe of a last-cycle intern requisition returns "existed, now closed", while an invented ID returns "never existed".

Use the wait to build proof: the SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games Externship or the Khan Academy Strategic Partnerships & Growth Externship gives you a finished project to discuss in the recruiter screen.

Autumn to winter 2026–27EXPECTED

Summer 2027 US requisitions expected, by analogy to September and October 2025. Low confidence: there is no 2027 requisition and no announced date.

Summer 2027

Americas internships are summer-only. Some interns may get an opportunity to extend part-time into the fall or spring, depending on team needs and budget approval.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Cohesity's mode is rolling, so the first days after a role posts matter. Last cycle's requisitions went live one by one across about four weeks, from September 15 to roughly October 11, and nothing in them states a closing date. Cohesity also says its volume of applications means it can't answer everyone. That favors applying early to the specific role you want. Because no 2027 requisition exists yet, the practical step is to watch the board weekly and have your resume ready.

Which Cohesity Internship Programs Should You Target?

Cohesity runs one program, the NextGen Intern Program, and fills it with separate requisitions. These were last cycle's US roles; all are closed.

We could read only one of these descriptions, the Inside Sales Rep Intern, because the archive rate-limited our requests. Roles and titles come from Cohesity's board and archived captures. See the university and internship page.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

These come from Cohesity's own FAQ and the one last-cycle posting we could read.

• Enrollment: you must be enrolled in a program of study during the internship and remain enrolled for at least one semester after it ends.

• Graduates: not eligible. Cohesity says students who've already graduated can't intern.

• International students: yes, if you're enrolled in a degree program and hold a valid F-1 visa sponsored by your university.

• Season: summer only in the Americas, though one remote part-time fall role appeared in 2025.

• GPA and major: not published.

Can a Graduating Senior Apply?

Not unless you'll still be enrolled afterward. The rule is explicit: you must stay enrolled for at least one semester after the internship, so a senior graduating in spring 2027 doesn't qualify for a summer 2027 role. A senior continuing into a master's program or a fifth year is in a different position, but Cohesity's pages don't address that case, so confirm with the recruiter before applying.

Could You Get In at Cohesity? Compare Your Profile

Based on 403 software engineering interns who started their first software internship between 2024 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.

Question 1 of 6

Which summer are you applying for?

Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.

Question 2 of 6

Which group is your school closest to?

Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.

Question 3 of 6

Is your major computer science, software engineering, data science or electrical engineering?

Almost every software intern in our data studied one of these. Other majors get in, but the coursework has to show elsewhere.

Question 4 of 6

How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?

Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.

Question 5 of 6

Has any of that experience been tech-related?

Software, data, IT, engineering or a research lab. Any size of company counts.

Question 6 of 6

Do you have at least one project on your resume or LinkedIn?

Personal, class, hackathon or open-source projects all count.

What Skills Does Cohesity Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We can't build a skills breakdown for 2027, because no intern requisition is posted and we could read only one from last cycle. That one, the Inside Sales Rep Intern, asks for outbound prospecting to IT decision-makers at commercial accounts, Salesforce record-keeping and handling inbound leads. For competencies Cohesity names four it looks for from the first screen: customer focus, being interpersonally savvy, driving results and leadership qualities.

Note: No skill chart: no Cohesity US intern requisition was open on October 26, 2026, and only one of last cycle's six could be read. One posting can't support percentages.

The overlap is closest on databases and sales outreach. No open Externship covers backup, recovery or distributed systems, so these rows build adjacent skills.

What Is the Cohesity Application and Interview Process Like?

Cohesity's own FAQ describes four stages.

1. Recruiter screen. A University Recruiting recruiter discusses the role, your background and your career goals.

2. Hiring manager. A deeper conversation about your skills and the team's projects.

3. Technical or competency round. You may speak with one or two senior team members to assess technical abilities or core competencies.

4. Decision. Your recruiter communicates the final decision and any next steps.

Cohesity says it can't respond to every applicant. It publishes no questions and no timing between stages.

What We Found on Reddit

Almost nothing for this cycle. One 2025 post is an incoming software intern asking what to study, and a 2026 thread covers a full-time software engineer process, not an internship. We'd rather show no quotes than stretch them.

How Do You Stand Out for a Summer-Only Program?

First, be ready before roles post. Last cycle they went live over about four weeks starting in mid-September, so have a tailored resume and a short project to show. Second, use Cohesity's four competencies as your stories: customer focus, being interpersonally savvy, driving results and leadership qualities. Third, check your enrollment: you must stay enrolled a semester after the internship. Cohesity doesn't publish a class size, applicant counts or a conversion rate; it says only that it often converts interns into full-time hires.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Cohesity internship?

No. Summer 2026 is over, and its US intern requisitions are closed. Summer 2027 is the next cycle, but no US intern role was posted on Cohesity's Workday board as of October 26, 2026. Watch the open positions page weekly, because last cycle's roles went live starting September 15.

When do Cohesity summer 2027 internships open?

Not yet. As of October 26, 2026, Cohesity's board lists 173 openings and none is an internship. Last cycle the first US requisition was dated September 15, 2025, so this year is running late. We expect roles this autumn or winter, with low confidence, because Cohesity announced no date.

Does Cohesity hire interns outside the summer?

In the Americas, Cohesity says it currently offers summer internships only. Some interns may be offered a part-time extension into the fall or spring, depending on team needs and budget approval. A remote part-time fall software role appeared in 2025, but it was an exception, not a program.

Can international students apply for a Cohesity internship?

Yes. Cohesity says it hires international students for US internship roles. You must be enrolled in a degree program and hold a valid F-1 visa sponsored by your university. You must also remain enrolled for at least one semester after the internship ends.

Can I apply to a Cohesity internship after graduating?

No. Cohesity says students must be enrolled in a program of study during the internship and remain enrolled for at least one semester afterward, so graduates aren't eligible. If you're finishing in spring 2027, that rule means no summer 2027 internship unless you continue studying.

How much do Cohesity interns get paid?

The only figure from Cohesity's own system is $30 to $32 an hour for the summer 2026 Inside Sales Rep Intern, from an archived copy of that posting. Nothing is posted for 2027, and we haven't read pay for last cycle's other roles. Interns also get paid holidays.

What is the Cohesity internship interview process?

Cohesity's FAQ lists a University Recruiting recruiter screen, then a hiring manager conversation, then possibly one or two senior team members for technical or competency questions, then a decision from your recruiter. Cohesity says it can't respond to every applicant and publishes no questions or timing.

Does Cohesity convert interns to full-time employees?

Cohesity says it's committed to developing early-career talent and often converts interns into full-time hires. It publishes no conversion rate or class size. Treat any percentage on job-board or review sites as unverified, and ask your recruiter about full-time openings during the internship.

Check Cohesity's board each week until summer 2027 roles post, and keep a resume ready. While you wait, a remote Externship gives you a finished data or sales project to talk about in the recruiter screen.
