ResMed, the San Diego sleep and respiratory care company with $5.65 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue, runs a paid 12-week summer internship for software, data, test and marketing students. Its 2026 software postings paid $23.25 to $42.75 an hour.

The catch is timing. ResMed doesn't post US summer interns in the fall: its summer-2026 requisitions were created around December 2025 to January 2026 and gone by April. On 3 October 2026 its Workday board carried 243 openings and zero US internships (the five intern roles live were in the Netherlands, Brazil, Malaysia and Australia). In plain words: you apply between January and March 2027, you intern in summer 2027.

What Is a ResMed Internship?

A ResMed internship is a paid 12-week summer placement at ResMed Inc., the San Diego maker of CPAP devices, masks and connected-care software, which had about 11,370 employees on 30 June 2026 according to its fiscal 2026 annual report. Interns work with a mentor in their field, join a team such as Digital Health Technology or Global Technology Solutions, meet company leaders and attend social events, per the 2026 postings. One detail matters before you apply: the 2026 reqs said "All Interns will be hired through our staffing provider partner and will not be a direct employee of ResMed", so pay and benefits come from that firm.

When Do ResMed Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

ResMed runs one US summer intake on a late calendar. The 2026 requisition IDs sit between reqs ResMed created in December 2025 and January 2026, so the summer-2026 wave was created then (a lower bound on when it went public). A ResMed UX intern posting was being discussed on Reddit in mid-March 2025, ResMed was still recruiting at a UC San Diego fair on 17 April 2026, and Built In shows a 2026 software req removed on 10 April 2026. One dated cycle plus those signals is thin evidence, so treat the windows below as estimates.

Applications aren't open yet: ResMed had no US intern reqs on 3 October 2026, and the summer-2026 reqs return a closed status on its Workday system. This is the window to build proof and set a job alert.

Reqs expected to come down (2026: by about 10 April). Late postings are possible, as ResMed was still recruiting at a campus fair in mid-April 2026.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

ResMed's window is short and unannounced. The 2026 reqs gave no deadline, yet the software role was gone from Built In by 10 April, roughly three months after the wave was created, and several tracks had only one req. Each req also asked for a specific start window and full-time availability for 12 weeks, so a late applicant competes for whatever slots remain in one cohort.

The practical move is a Workday job alert for "intern" on ResMed's board now, so you hear the day the first summer 2027 req appears.

Which ResMed Internship Programs Should You Target?

ResMed posts one req per role rather than a single program application. The 2026 US reqs we found:

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The 2026 reqs set these bars:

• Degree: studies leading to a bachelor's or master's degree in the field the req names (computer science, bioengineering, electrical engineering, data science, information systems, marketing and similar). The Test Engineer req asked for seniors or final-year students.

• Availability: full time for 12 weeks in one of two windows: 18 May–7 August or 15 June–4 September (2026 dates).

• GPA: none published.

• Visa: the 2026 software req stated "Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status."

• Employment model: hired through ResMed's staffing provider partner, not as a direct ResMed employee.

Can You Do a ResMed Internship Remotely?

Sometimes. The 2026 Software Engineering Intern req said the role was "preferred to be performed onsite" in San Diego but was "also open to remote candidates", with both in-person and remote team meetings. Built In listed the same role as in-office. Read each 2027 req for its own work model rather than assuming remote is available.

What Skills Does ResMed Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We read nine of ResMed's 2026 US intern reqs in full (software, data, test, AI solutions, product analyst and brand marketing roles). The template is consistent: almost every req asks for teamwork, problem solving and communication, then names a role-specific stack.

For the technical roles that stack is a programming language (Java, Python or C#), SQL for the data and analyst roles, AWS for cloud work and, newly, experience using AI tools. Four reqs also asked for interest in the medical technology industry, which is worth a line in your resume summary.

What Is the ResMed Application and Interview Process Like?

ResMed doesn't publish an intern interview process. What the reqs and community posts show:

1. Find the req. From January, search ResMed's Workday board for "intern". Each role is a separate req, so apply to the one that fits your degree.

2. Pick a start window. The 2026 reqs offered mid-May or mid-June starts; two stated a preference for "Cohort B".

3. Screening. ResMed hasn't published its intern interview format. A Reddit commenter applying for an experienced role in Ireland reported a HireVue video interview as the first round, which may or may not carry over to US interns.

4. Offer through the staffing partner. Pay is set by ResMed's staffing provider partner, and your recruiter explains the details.

Apply only through resmed.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com. Offers arriving through other channels are worth checking with ResMed directly.

What Students on Reddit Say

Reddit has little on ResMed internships, and what exists is mostly about timing.

A student weighing two UX research internships in mid-March 2025 was looking at a ResMed UX intern posting, a sign that ResMed's US intern roles are live in late winter and spring rather than the fall.

A UC San Diego post on 17 April 2026 listed ResMed among the industry partners recruiting at a medtech fair for summer roles in software, AI/ML, UI/UX and marketing, so late-season chances do exist.

Developers applying to ResMed in Ireland (experienced hires, not interns) describe a HireVue first round and a slow process, with one 2026 commenter waiting about two months between interviews.

How Do You Stand Out at ResMed?

Three moves. First, be early in a late window. Most software interns apply in the fall and stop looking; ResMed posts in winter, so an alert set now puts you in the first batch of applicants for a short-lived req.

Second, match the stack in the req. The 2026 reqs named specific tools: Java and AWS Lambda on the Digital Health software role, C#, .NET and AI agents in Atlanta, SQL on every data and analyst role. One project that uses the named stack beats a long list of languages.

Third, show you care about the product. Four reqs asked for interest in medical technology. A sentence on connected sleep and respiratory care, or a project touching health data, answers that directly. ResMed doesn't publish applicant numbers or a conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 ResMed internship?

No. ResMed's summer 2026 US intern reqs were pulled around April 2026 and now return a closed status on its Workday system. On 3 October 2026 there were no US intern roles live at all. The next US window is expected between January and March 2027, for internships starting in mid-May or mid-June 2027.

When does ResMed post summer internships?

In winter, not fall. The summer 2026 US reqs were created around December 2025 to January 2026 and removed by about April 2026, so expect summer 2027 postings roughly January to March 2027. That projection rests on one dated cycle plus community timing signals, so set a Workday job alert rather than relying on dates.

How much do ResMed interns make?

Most 2026 technical reqs listed $23.25 to $42.75 an hour, depending on experience and job classification. An Atlanta software req listed $23.25 to $35.75, and the Brand Marketing intern $25.25 to $33. Pay is set and paid by ResMed's staffing provider partner, not by ResMed directly.

Are ResMed interns ResMed employees?

No. The 2026 reqs said all interns are hired through ResMed's staffing provider partner and aren't direct ResMed employees; your recruiter explains the details. That means pay, payroll and any benefits come from the staffing firm. You still apply through ResMed's own Workday board and work on ResMed teams.

Does ResMed sponsor visas for interns?

The 2026 Software Engineering Intern req said ResMed won't sponsor applicants for employment visa status. We didn't find a different policy on the other 2026 intern reqs. International students should check each 2027 req when it posts and confirm their own work authorization covers a 12-week summer role.

How long is the ResMed internship?

Twelve weeks, full time. In 2026 ResMed offered two start windows, 18 May to 7 August or 15 June to 4 September, and two reqs stated a preference for "Cohort B". Expect similar mid-May and mid-June options for summer 2027 and say which one you can commit to.

What skills does ResMed look for in interns?

Across nine 2026 US reqs, teamwork, problem solving and communication came up most. Technical roles named a programming language (Java, Python or C#), SQL for data and analyst roles, AWS for cloud work and experience with AI tools. Brand Marketing wanted short-form video and social content skills.

Where are ResMed internships located?

Mostly San Diego, California, where onsite work was preferred and some roles were open to remote candidates. In 2026 ResMed also posted a software intern role in Atlanta and a product analyst role in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Its intern roles outside the US are separate regional programs.

ResMed's US window should open in January 2027 and close fast. A remote Externship finished this fall gives your application a real build to point to.
