Edwards Lifesciences' summer 2027 internships are open right now, and the first track closes on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Five US requisitions went up on Edwards' Workday board on September 1, 2026: Engineering, the Engineering Co-Op, Clinical & Regulatory, and Supply Chain in Irvine and in Draper, Utah. The two Supply Chain postings are scheduled to come down on October 6, and Engineering and Clinical & Regulatory on November 1 (rechecked October 3, 2026). In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, but at Edwards "during 2026" means September and October.

So this isn't a one-deadline company. It runs a cohort of 150+ interns across six tracks, and each track keeps its own calendar. Engineering gets a second wave in January to March 2027. Supply Chain and Clinical & Regulatory don't list one.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, usually in about 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship builds the operations analysis Edwards' supply chain interns do, and the Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship puts a healthcare problem on your resume for the Clinical & Regulatory track. What Is an Edwards Lifesciences Internship?

An Edwards Lifesciences internship is a paid, full-time summer program of 10 to 12 weeks at the medical device maker's Irvine, California headquarters or its Draper, Utah manufacturing site. Edwards describes itself as "the leading global structural heart innovation company"; it makes heart valves and related devices and reported $6,067.6 million in 2025 net sales.

And the program is large for a single-segment medtech company: Edwards says it recruits a cohort of 150+ interns. Engineering interns test and iterate device designs in R&D, Quality and Manufacturing; Supply Chain interns rotate through planning, forecasting, procurement and logistics; Clinical & Regulatory interns apply medical device regulations to products headed for market. Interns can opt into shared, subsidized housing, and every req points to conversion into Edwards' new-grad and rotational programs.

When Do Edwards Lifesciences Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Edwards posted all five US summer 2027 reqs on the same day, September 1, 2026, and the summer 2026 launch came at the same point a year earlier: Edwards' careers account announced the Summer 2026 program on September 15, 2025. So the September start looks stable. What differs is when each track stops.

The programs page lists each track's window: Supply Chain and Clinical & Regulatory "September - October"; Engineering "September - October & January - March"; Co-Op "September - October & January - February"; MBA "October - January"; additional openings such as HR, IT and Quality "February - April." From a September posting to a May or June start is about 8 to 9 months of lead time; for the January co-op it's about 4 months.

Now · early October 2026YOU ARE HERE

Applications for summer 2027 are open right now on five US reqs. Supply Chain (Irvine and Draper) is scheduled to close Tuesday, October 6. Engineering and Clinical & Regulatory run to November 1. Co-op interviews happen in mid-October for invited candidates.

Apply first; that's the priority this week. Alongside it, a finished project helps in fall interviews: the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy Externship for supply chain, or the Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship for Clinical & Regulatory.
October 6, 2026HARD DEADLINE

Supply Chain applications for summer 2027 scheduled to close in both Irvine and Draper. The programs page lists no spring wave for this track, so this is the only door for summer 2027.

November 1, 2026HARD DEADLINE

Engineering Internship and Clinical & Regulatory applications for summer 2027 scheduled to close. Co-op offer decisions are due by mid-November. MBA Summer Associate applications for summer 2027 are expected to post in this stretch (window October to January).

January to April 2027EXPECTED

Engineering's second wave for summer 2027 expected January to March, the co-op's second wave January to February, and additional openings (HR, IT, Quality and more) for summer 2027 expected February to April. The spring co-op cohort starts in January.

Summer 2027

Summer tracks run May or June through August, 10 to 12 weeks full-time in Irvine or Draper, with the Summer Immersion Experience for interns and new grads. Every req lists conversion opportunities into Edwards' new-grad programs.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Edwards doesn't run a rolling program with a vague close. Each requisition carries an end date set by Edwards in its own Workday system, and the programs page backs it up with a two-month window for Supply Chain and Clinical & Regulatory. A Workday end date can be extended or pulled early, but you shouldn't plan around either.

Supply chain students reading this on October 3 have this weekend and Monday. Apply to the Irvine or Draper req (or both, if you'd relocate) before Tuesday.

But engineering students have more room, and less reason to wait than it looks. The co-op invites candidates to interview in mid-October, so a co-op application sent in late October may arrive after the interview slots are gone.

Which Edwards Lifesciences Internship Programs Should You Target?

Edwards runs one Summer Internship Program with six tracks. Five have live US reqs today; MBA and the additional openings post later.

But ignore the line at the bottom of that page about "our 2025 Summer Internship Program from January through April 2025." It's an old banner; the per-track windows and the live reqs are current.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

All five summer 2027 reqs and the programs page agree on four gates:

• Enrollment: enrolled in an accredited bachelor's, master's or PhD program for the entire internship. The Clinical & Regulatory req adds: "Upon graduating, students are no longer eligible."

• Graduation date: December 2027 or later, on every US req. A May 2027 graduate can't take a summer 2027 internship here.

• GPA: 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and 3.5 for the MBA Program.

• Work authorization: "Must not require a company sponsorship for an employment-based visa now or in the future." Students who'd need CPT or OPT followed by sponsorship should read the programs page FAQ first.

• Availability: full-time for the summer; the co-op requires in-person, full-time work from January to August 2027.

Is the December 2027 Graduation Rule a Hard Cutoff?

Yes, and it rules out more students than the GPA does. Edwards wants interns who are still enrolled when the internship ends, so a senior who graduates in May 2027 doesn't qualify for summer 2027. If you're finishing a bachelor's and starting a master's, the programs page FAQ says you're eligible with proof of master's enrollment.

So check the graduation line before you write a cover letter. Engineering reqs also prefer junior or senior standing and completed coursework in Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Design.

What Skills Does Edwards Lifesciences Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

We read all five live US summer 2027 reqs in full. Three themes run through them.

Communicating results. All five ask for it in some form: engineering interns must "clearly convey data results," Clinical & Regulatory wants "highly effective communication skills," and Supply Chain asks for "excellent interpersonal skills."

Hands-on technical work. The engineering reqs describe functional, mechanical and simulated-use testing, design iteration and written test reports; the co-op prefers SolidWorks or Creo Parametric. Clinical & Regulatory prefers technical writing.

Organized work in a fast-paced setting. Supply Chain asks for organization, attention to detail and "the ability to prioritize in a changing environment."

The common thread: Edwards wants interns who can do careful, documented work and explain it to someone else.

What Is the Edwards Lifesciences Application and Interview Process Like?

Edwards' programs page FAQ describes the process, and past applicants fill in the interview content:

1. Apply online through the US intern job search. Applications run September to October (and February to March for some programs), per the FAQ.

2. Recruiter screen. If selected, a recruiter phone screen or video interview. The FAQ puts interviews in October to November and March to April.

3. Team interviews. Possible further meetings with managers, peers or team leaders.

4. Offer call and letter. A call covering pay, benefits and dates, then an offer letter and background screening.

Expect behavioral questions. A 2024 co-op candidate on Reddit reported no technical questions at all; the questions they remembered were why they're interested in the cardio space and which three qualities a manager would name in a review. So prepare a real answer about structural heart disease.

What Students on Reddit Say

Edwards threads are mostly about interviews and culture, and they span several years.

A 2024 engineering co-op candidate said the interview had no technical questions. The memorable ones were why they care about the cardio space and which three qualities their manager would highlight in a performance review. They didn't get the role and kept applying.

A former Edwards intern described the culture as friendly and said the company puts heavy weight on communication. Their new-grad interview asked for their top three technical skills, why Edwards should hire them, and where they see themselves in five years.

A commenter relaying a former Edwards manager in Salt Lake City said the company likes teams together in person, and most of his team worked standard 40-hour weeks. Other commenters said experienced roles were hard to get an interview for.

How Do You Stand Out for an Edwards Lifesciences Internship?

Edwards publishes a cohort size of 150+ interns but no applicant count or conversion rate, so there's no honest acceptance rate to quote. Here's what the reqs reward.

First, apply to the right track on time. Supply Chain's window is the shortest, and a co-op application that lands after mid-October interviews is late in practice.

Second, bring a reason you care about the heart. Edwards calls itself a structural heart company, and a past co-op candidate was asked directly why they're interested in the cardio space. A sentence about a specific device category or patient problem beats a general line about healthcare.

Third, show documented work. Engineering reqs ask for written test reports and design-review feedback; Clinical & Regulatory prefers technical writing. A lab report, a capstone write-up or a finished Externship deliverable gives an interviewer something to probe.

And if you miss fall, don't drop Edwards. Engineering's January to March wave is a real second chance.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Edwards Lifesciences internship?

No. Summer 2026 has already run. The open door is summer 2027: Supply Chain applications are scheduled to close October 6, 2026, and Engineering and Clinical & Regulatory on November 1, 2026. Engineering expects a second wave from January to March 2027, and HR, IT and Quality roles from February to April 2027.

When do Edwards Lifesciences summer 2027 internship applications close?

It depends on the track. Both Supply Chain reqs carry a Workday end date of October 6, 2026; Engineering and Clinical & Regulatory end November 1, 2026. The co-op holds interviews in mid-October and decides offers by mid-November. Edwards sets these dates in its own system and can move them.

How much do Edwards Lifesciences interns make?

Edwards' California summer 2027 reqs list a base pay range of $54,000 to $72,000 on an annualized basis, with pay depending on qualifications, education and experience. The Draper, Utah Supply Chain req doesn't list a range. Edwards' FAQ confirms that all of its internships are paid.

Does Edwards Lifesciences sponsor visas for interns?

No. Every summer 2027 US req says candidates "must not require a company sponsorship for an employment-based visa now or in the future." The programs page lists eligible categories such as citizens, nationals, permanent residents, asylees and refugees. Students relying on later sponsorship aren't eligible for these roles.

What GPA do you need for an Edwards Lifesciences internship?

A 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the summer tracks and the co-op, and 3.5 for the MBA Program. Every req also requires a graduation date of December 2027 or later, which rules out students finishing their degree in spring 2027, whatever their GPA.

Where are Edwards Lifesciences internships located?

Irvine, California, at the corporate headquarters, and Draper, Utah, at the manufacturing facility. Engineering, the co-op and Supply Chain place interns at both sites; Clinical & Regulatory and the MBA Program are in Irvine. Most internships are in person or hybrid, and the co-op must be in person.

What is the Edwards Lifesciences engineering co-op?

A full-time, in-person engineering co-op from January to August 2027 in Irvine or Draper, working on R&D, clinical development or quality engineering for structural heart devices. Candidates must graduate in December 2027 or later. Interviews run in mid-October 2026 and offer decisions come by mid-November.

Do Edwards Lifesciences interns get full-time offers?

Some do, but Edwards doesn't publish a conversion rate. Every summer 2027 req lists "Conversion Opportunities into our New Grad Programs following graduation," and the programs page names rotational programs in technical engineering, clinical and regulatory, supply chain and strategic leadership.

Supply chain students have until October 6; engineering and Clinical & Regulatory students until November 1. Use the gap well: a remote Externship gives you a finished, documented project to talk through when the Edwards recruiter calls.
