Last updated: October 2026
Regions Bank's main summer 2027 internship window has closed. Its own program page prints application windows of August to October 2026 for most tracks, and on October 26, 2026 the Workday board listed 482 openings and no internships, even though the page still says the 2027 positions are "now live". Two doors remain for summer 2027: Government Affairs in Washington, D.C., with a printed window of January to February 2027, and Technology, Operations, Digital and Data (TODD), whose page says summer recruiting happens in fall and spring. In plain words: you apply the year before, so the next full wave is expected August to October 2027 for summer 2028.
What Is a Regions Bank Internship?
A Regions Bank internship is a summer placement in the Emerging Talent Program (ETP) at Regions Financial Corporation, the Birmingham, Alabama bank that reports $163 billion in assets and more than 1,200 banking offices across the South, Midwest and Texas (third-quarter 2026 earnings release, October 16, 2026). Its own pages describe 10 to 11 week internships in nine business areas, with coaching, cohort sessions and executive exposure. Archived copies of its career site show ETP intern postings every year from 2024 to 2027. Regions doesn't publish a class size or a conversion rate.

When Do Regions Bank Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Regions prints an application window for each track on its program page, and the same windows appeared a year earlier. For summer 2026 the page showed August to October 2025 for most tracks, September to October 2025 for Human Resources and TODD, and January to February for Government Affairs, and an August 2025 archive already said the 2026 positions were live. For summer 2027 the windows repeat: August to October 2026 for most tracks. Regions doesn't publish a start date, so we assume late May or June, which puts the main window about 9 to 10 months ahead. We couldn't read posting dates for individual reqs, so we won't name an opening day.
The main summer 2027 window has closed. The Workday board showed 482 openings and no internships on October 26, 2026, while the program page still says the 2027 positions are now live. Treat that banner as stale.
Government Affairs (Washington, D.C.) is printed on Regions' page for this window, for a summer 2027 internship. It isn't posted yet. The page lists regulatory tracking, congressional hearings and PAC materials as the work.
TODD (Technology, Operations, Digital and Data) says summer recruiting happens "in fall and spring", so a spring round is possible. No dates are published, and no TODD posting is open today.
Ten to eleven weeks in Birmingham and other offices. Regions doesn't publish a start date. Interns join coaching, networking, cohort sessions and a volunteering component.
Summer 2028 postings expected, if the pattern repeats: both the 2025 and 2026 cycles printed August to October windows for most tracks. Medium confidence, from two cycles.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Regions' windows are short, and they close for good. Corporate Banking's printed window is two months (August to September), Human Resources and TODD get September to October, and the 2026 cycle's postings were all down by October 26. Last year's page also carried a footnote that deadlines might vary with business needs. Because the 2027 program page still says positions are live when none are, a student who trusts the banner could miss the real window. Join the Talent Community now, and check the board in early August 2027.
Which Regions Bank Internship Programs Should You Target?
Regions lists nine internship areas under the Emerging Talent Program. None is posted today, so this table shows what each area covers and when it has recruited.
| Program | Focus | Duration | Key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audit Development Program | Internal audit including SOX; data interns use SQL, Python, APIs, AI/ML, Power BI and Tableau | 10 weeks, Birmingham | Window: August to October 2026 (closed) |
| Corporate Banking Group | Corporate Banking, Commercial Credit Products, Real Estate Banking; underwriting recommendations and client presentations | 10 to 11 weeks, nine cities | Window: August to September 2026 (closed) |
| Finance Development Program | Non-rotational: Treasury, Corporate Finance, Controller's Group, Corporate Development & Strategy, Accounting Policy | 10 weeks, Birmingham | Window: August to October 2026 (closed) |
| Government Affairs | Regulatory rulemaking tracking, congressional hearings, PAC materials | Not published, Washington, D.C. | Printed window: January to February 2027 (not yet posted) |
| Technology, Operations, Digital and Data (TODD) | Cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data and analytics, digital banking, financial crimes, software engineering | 11 weeks, Birmingham | September to October 2026 (closed); page says spring recruiting also occurs |
| Human Resources, Risk Management, Wealth Management, Corporate Support | People programs and talent acquisition; credit, model and operational risk; private wealth and institutional services; real estate, community engagement and marketing | 10 weeks (program overview) | Windows: August or September to October 2026 (closed) |

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Regions' program pages say little about requirements, and the postings are down, so we can't quote them.
• Enrollment: the internships page is tagged for undergraduate and graduate student internships. Per-posting degree and class-year text isn't readable today.
• GPA, major and work authorization: not published on the program pages. Read them on the posting when it appears.
• Location: postings are tied to specific offices, and we found no remote option.
• TODD pipeline: the TODD page says you must complete the internship to be recruited for the TODD Development Program.

Can You Still Get a Summer 2027 Internship?
Only through the two doors that haven't opened. Government Affairs prints January to February 2027, and the TODD page says summer recruiting occurs in fall and spring. Neither is posted, and neither gives a deadline, so treat both as chances to watch rather than plan around. For everything else, the next full wave is expected August to October 2027, for summer 2028.

Could You Get In at Regions Bank? Compare Your Profile
Based on 543 investment banking summer analysts at top investment banks from the classes of 2025 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.
Which summer are you applying for?
Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.
Which group is your school closest to?
Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.
Is your major finance, economics, accounting or business?
Math and statistics count too. Major is not a hard filter, but it shifts how much your coursework has to prove.
How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?
Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.
Has any of that experience been finance-related?
Banking, PE or VC, corporate finance, wealth management, equity research, accounting or consulting. Any size of firm counts.
Are you in a finance club, investment fund or case competition team?
Campus clubs are how most admits get their first deal and modelling reps.

What Skills Does Regions Bank Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
We couldn't build a posting-based skill count, because no Regions intern posting is open and closed postings hide their text. These are the skills Regions' own program pages name. Audit data interns work in SQL, Python, APIs, AI/ML, Power BI and Tableau, and audit interns work to SOX and internal audit standards. Corporate Banking interns "build credit and financial analysis skills", and the analyst course covers financial accounting, credit analysis, financial modeling and valuation. TODD names Agile, AWS, cloud, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
Note: No skill-frequency chart: Regions had no intern postings open on October 26, 2026, and closed postings hide their text, so we have no job description sample to count. The skills above come from Regions' program pages.
How Is Demand for Finance Interns Moving Right Now?
Finance intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 336 in August
For Regions applicants: Regions' own Workday board listed 482 openings on October 26, 2026, and none was an internship, which matches the closed summer 2027 window.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size. Pay = median of employer-published ranges only (60 postings in September, 57 in August).
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill Regions names maps to a remote Externship you can finish before the next window opens.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Financial planning, modeling and valuation | Finance Development Program and Corporate Banking: financial modeling, valuation, corporate finance | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation |
| Investing and financial modeling | Wealth Management and Corporate Banking: investment and credit analysis | Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling |
| Deal sourcing and market research | Real Estate Banking and Corporate Banking deal work | Mangusta Capital Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis |
| SQL and data analytics | Audit data interns and TODD Data & Analytics: SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau | SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games |
| Cybersecurity and systems | TODD: cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure | Hydroficient Advanced: IoT Cyber Defense |
The overlap is closest on the finance and data rows. No open Externship covers SOX audit standards or credit underwriting, so the Attronica and Yinan Zhao Externships are the nearest practice.
What Is the Regions Bank Application and Interview Process Like?
Regions doesn't publish its interview stages for internships. This is what its own pages say.
1. Find the track. Regions posts a separate posting per area, such as Finance Development Program, Audit, Risk, Corporate Banking and TODD.
2. Join the Talent Community. The program pages tell you to share your interest with campus recruiters and get notified when postings go live.
3. Apply on the board. The apply buttons lead to Regions' Workday application site.
4. Interview and offer. The stages aren't published on Regions' pages.
Regions publishes no assessment format, interview questions or timing between steps.
What We Found on Reddit
Nothing we can use. The Regions threads we read are a 2023 question about a TODD interview day with no answers and a 2026 thread about branch jobs, not internships. We'd rather show no quotes than borrow someone else's experience.
How Do You Stand Out for a Regions Bank Internship?
First, be early to the right window. Regions' windows run one to three months and then close, so register with the Talent Community before August 2027. Second, name a track, not "the bank". Regions posts separate roles for Finance, Audit, Risk, Corporate Banking, Wealth Management and TODD, and your resume should read like the track's description. Third, for TODD, remember the internship is the only route into the TODD Development Program. Regions doesn't publish a class size or a conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Regions Bank internship?
No. Summer 2026 internships ran last summer and are over. The summer 2027 window has also closed for most tracks: Regions printed August to October 2026, and its board showed no internships on October 26. Government Affairs (January to February 2027) and TODD spring recruiting are the doors still ahead.
When do Regions Bank internship applications open?
Most tracks recruit August to October, a year ahead of the summer. Corporate Banking runs August to September, and Human Resources, TODD and Corporate Support September to October. Government Affairs prints January to February. We expect the summer 2028 wave from August to October 2027, with medium confidence from two cycles.
Does the Regions internship page still say positions are open?
Yes, but it's stale. The interns page still says the 2027 internship positions are "now live" and will keep being added into September. On October 26, 2026, Regions' Workday board listed 482 openings and none was an internship. Trust the board, not the banner.
How long are Regions Bank internships?
Ten to eleven weeks, depending on the page. The program overview, Finance and Human Resources describe ten weeks, while the Corporate Bank and TODD pages say eleven. Regions doesn't publish a start date; we assume late May or June. The Government Affairs page gives no length.
How much do Regions Bank interns get paid?
Regions doesn't publish intern pay on its program pages, and the intern postings are down, so we can't quote a figure. Its internships page is tagged "Paid Internships", but that's a label, not a rate. Read the pay line on the posting when the next wave opens.
Where are Regions Bank internships located?
Mostly Birmingham, Alabama. TODD interns work at the Riverchase Operations Center there. Corporate Banking also posts in Atlanta, Charlotte, Clayton MO, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New Orleans and Orlando, Wealth Management in Atlanta, Jacksonville, St. Louis and Little Rock, and Government Affairs in Washington, D.C.
Do Regions Bank interns get full-time offers?
Regions doesn't publish a conversion rate. It runs full-time analyst and development programs alongside the internships, and its TODD page says you must complete the internship to be recruited for the TODD Development Program. Alumni quotes on its page describe returning as analysts, but they are testimonials, not statistics.
What are the Regions Emerging Talent Program tracks?
The Emerging Talent Program covers nine internship areas: Audit, Corporate Banking Group, Finance, Government Affairs, Human Resources, Risk Management, Technology Operations Digital and Data, Wealth Management and Corporate Support. Each area posts its own role, and none is open today.
Join Regions' Talent Community now, and check the board in January 2027 for Government Affairs and in early August 2027 for the full wave. While you wait, a remote Externship gives you a finished analysis or model to talk about in the interview.
