Last updated: October 2026
Qorvo, the Greensboro, North Carolina maker of RF and power semiconductors, had 117 US internship requisitions open on its careers board on 3 October 2026, and every one of them publishes an hourly pay range. Most engineering roles pay $31 to $42 an hour, and none carries a deadline. You apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, usually for about 12 weeks between May and August.
The company itself is changing hands. Skyworks Solutions said on 30 September 2026 that it had received all regulatory clearances and expects to close its acquisition of Qorvo on or about 5 October 2026, so a summer 2027 Qorvo intern will very likely start under Skyworks ownership.
What Is a Qorvo Internship?
A Qorvo internship is a paid, roughly 12-week summer role at a US semiconductor company that designs and builds RF and power chips for mobile, defense and infrastructure markets. Qorvo's University Relations page says interns "work on meaningful projects from day one" and that most internships run from May through August.
The requisitions describe process, test, device and RF design work in fabs and labs, plus software, data, sourcing and marketing roles. Each one lists mentoring, "Launch & Learns", networking events and a final presentation to business leaders. Qorvo also cites its recognition as a 2026 Handshake Early Talent Award winner.

When Do Qorvo Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Qorvo posts its summer internships early in the fall and then keeps them open. The summer 2026 wave was already live by early September 2025, when Purdue's ECE department circulated a Qorvo RF design internship on 9 September. The summer 2027 wave follows the same shape: 118 US roles were on the board on 28 September 2026 and 117 on 3 October.
Treat the board's posting dates with care. The same requisitions showed dates from late August when we checked on 28 September and dates from 10 September to 1 October five days later, so the board re-dates reposted roles. Measured from a September posting to a May start, the lead time is about 8 months.
Applications for summer 2027 are open right now: 117 US internship roles, most in Richardson and Greensboro. Five long-term roles (8 to 9 months, three starting January 2027) are open too. Apply to the roles that fit your major while the full list is still up.
Rolling review. Qorvo recruits at career fairs and on Handshake in the fall, and roles can be filled and removed at any point.
Recruiter calls and interviews, based on past applicants who reported screening calls and interviews from late January through mid-May in the last two cycles. The January 2027 long-term roles start.
The internship itself: about 12 weeks, May to August, ending with a final presentation to business leaders. Full-time roles are open to interns "as available".
Summer 2028 internships are expected to post, following the early-September pattern of the last two cycles.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Qorvo runs a rolling process with no published deadline. None of the 117 requisitions we read contains a closing date, and past applicants on Reddit describe recruiter calls and interviews running from late January to mid-May.
Applying now still matters, because rolling review means seats get filled as strong candidates appear, and every filled role leaves the board. In October you can still choose your site and team from the full list; by spring the list is shorter.
There's an ownership change to keep in mind. With the Skyworks deal expected to close around 5 October 2026, recruiting systems and branding may change during the cycle. If a link stops working, check the Skyworks careers site as well as Qorvo's.
Which Qorvo Internship Programs Should You Target?
Qorvo runs one internship program with dozens of distinct role titles. These are the main groups among the 117 US roles.
| Track | Focus | Duration | Key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Process & device engineering | Fab processes (evaporation, CVD, PVD), packaging, device characterization | 12 weeks; some 8–9 months | Richardson, Greensboro, Hillsboro; clean-room work; $31–$42/hr |
| Test & product engineering | Test development, characterization, yield and product support | 12 weeks | Object-oriented programming (C#, VB.NET) plus analog/RF coursework |
| RF, analog & filter design | RF/microwave, RFIC, BAW filter and analog design | 12 weeks | Often MS/PhD; ADS, HFSS, Cadence; two San Jose roles at $36–$48/hr |
| Software & data | Software, database, full-stack web, data analytics | 12 weeks; one 9-month role | Python, C++, SQL, Git |
| Facilities, EHS & operations | Facility systems, safety, sourcing | 12 weeks | Hillsboro and Greensboro; $23–$42/hr depending on role |
| Business | Business analyst, sourcing, digital marketing | 12 weeks | $25–$34/hr; Excel and Power BI |
Start from the Qorvo Internships category and filter to US locations, because the same category also lists roles in Spain, Germany and Ireland.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Qorvo's requisitions are specific about grades and sponsorship. Across the 117 US roles:
• Enrollment: currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's or PhD, and the University Relations FAQ says the program is for students who plan to return to school.
• GPA: 82 roles ask for 3.0; 10 ask for 3.3, 6 for 3.5, and one each for 3.2 and 3.4. Seventeen don't state a GPA.
• Visa sponsorship: 97 of 117 roles say the position "is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company." The other 20, mostly design and R&D roles, don't say either way.
• Degree level: most RF and RFIC design roles ask for MS or PhD students; process, test and business roles take undergraduates.
• Work model: on-site at Qorvo facilities; relocation support where applicable.

Is the 3.0 GPA a Hard Cutoff?
On most roles, yes, at least on paper. The requisitions phrase it as "Minimum GPA of 3.0" or "3.0 GPA or higher," which reads as a screen rather than a preference.
It varies by role. Check the line on the specific requisition before you apply, since a handful set 3.3 or 3.5 and seventeen don't mention GPA at all.

What Skills Does Qorvo Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Qorvo's requisitions share a common core: communication, Microsoft Office, and being a self-starter appear on most of them. The technical layer depends on the track. Process roles want semiconductor coursework and clean-room interest, design roles want RF or analog coursework and simulation tools, and software roles want Python, C++ or C#.
Build the core and then go deep on one track.

An Externship isn't a substitute for RF coursework. It's a way to show finished, practical work in the software, data and business areas Qorvo also hires for.
What Is the Qorvo Application and Interview Process Like?
Qorvo hasn't published a step-by-step process. The steps below come from its University Relations FAQ and from applicants' own reports, labeled as such:
1. Apply online. Click "Apply now" on the posting and upload your resume, per the University Relations FAQ. Qorvo also recruits through Handshake and career fairs.
2. Recruiter call. Applicants to the software intern role on Reddit describe a "good fit" email followed by a 30-minute call.
3. Technical interview. A former Qorvo microwave design intern listed RF fundamentals as the core: S-parameters, the Smith chart, impedance matching, Q factor, quarter-wave transformers and transmission-line impedance.
4. Offer. Qorvo doesn't publish an offer timeline. In past cycles, applicants reported interviews as late as May.
Students who need visa sponsorship should look first at the 20 roles, mostly in RF design and R&D, that don't carry the no-sponsorship line, and ask the recruiter early.
What Students on Reddit Say
A handful of threads cover Qorvo's intern hiring, mostly on the RF side.
A student who interned in microwave design at Qorvo in summer 2025 said their RF interviews covered S-parameters, the Smith chart, impedance matching, Q factor and quarter-wave transformers. They added that a master's degree seems to be the practical minimum for RF design roles.
One applicant got a "good fit" email and a 30-minute recruiter call for Qorvo's software engineer internship in January 2025. Others in the same thread reported interviews in February, March and May, and one more in February 2026.
A senior aiming for RF internships read Qorvo's postings as leaning toward master's students. The advice from others: put any RF internship or hands-on RF project at the top of your resume, because it matters most in selection.
How Do You Stand Out for a Qorvo Internship?
Three moves for this cycle.
First, apply in October, while all 117 roles are open. There's no deadline, but rolling review means the strongest-fit roles fill first.
Second, match the requisition's exact line. GPA, degree level, programming language and simulation tools differ by role, and most say the position isn't eligible for visa sponsorship. Apply to the roles you meet on paper.
Third, for RF and design roles, prepare the fundamentals. A former intern's list (S-parameters, Smith chart, impedance matching, Q factor) is a good study guide, and a hands-on RF project gives you something concrete to discuss.
Think about full-time. Qorvo promises "the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available" and features three former interns now in full-time roles on its University Relations page, but it doesn't publish a conversion rate.
