Last updated: October 2026
The LPGA's Summer Internship Program places college students in the business side of women's professional golf, across eleven areas from Strategic Partnerships and Business Intelligence to Legal and the LPGA Foundation. Interns work inside a department, present a group project to senior leadership in their last week, and meet each C-level executive. The LPGA states its rules plainly: an actively enrolled junior or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA, and grad students and recent grads are considered. It doesn't publish application dates, term dates or pay. As of 17 October 2026 its job system listed one opening, a full-time VP of Content role, and no internships. Here's the cycle in plain words: you apply during the 2026-27 school year, you intern in summer 2027, and the LPGA hasn't said when postings go up.

LPGA interns work on partnerships, marketing, communications and data, so a finished project gives you something concrete to show before a posting appears. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. What Is an LPGA Internship?
An LPGA internship is a summer placement at the national organization behind the LPGA Tour, the professional golf tour for women. The program page calls it a behind-the-scenes look at the operations of the world's leading professional golf organization for women. Each intern is assigned to a department, works on a group project meant to solve a real business challenge, and joins trainings on interviewing, résumé writing, networking and LinkedIn. It is separate from the PGA Tour, the PGA of America and the USGA, which hire through their own programs, and from the teaching and club professionals under LPGA Professionals.

When Do LPGA Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The LPGA runs one named program, the Summer Internship Program, and publishes no dates for it. Its page carries no open date, close date, term dates or hours, and a June 2025 Wayback Machine capture of the page carries the same text with no dates. Summer 2027 is therefore the term to plan for, but the window is unknown, and we haven't found a dated cycle on the LPGA's own channels to project from.
Nothing is open. On 17 October the LPGA's job board listed one position, a full-time VP of Content role, and no internships. Use the time to check the junior-or-senior and 3.0 GPA rules and to pick a department.
Finish your résumé, write a short note for the department you want, and bookmark the LPGA job board. A weekly check is the plan.
The LPGA hasn't said when summer 2027 applications open or close, and we won't guess a month. When a posting appears it will be on the LPGA job board. Apply as soon as you see it.
The application steps, interview format and decision timing aren't published. Interns are placed in a department, so expect questions about the area you chose.
The program is named for the summer, but start and end dates and weekly hours aren't published. Interns work in a department, present a group project to senior leadership in the last week and meet each C-level executive.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
We can't tell you whether the LPGA's window is rolling or fixed, because it publishes neither a date nor a rule. That is the reason to apply early. With no announced cutoff, a posting could close without notice, and the program is small: eleven areas, and a job board that held a single opening on 17 October. We have no evidence of a deadline, so treat the first days after a posting appears as the safe time to submit, and keep your materials ready so you can.
Which LPGA Internship Programs Should You Target?
The LPGA lists eleven areas "subject to change from year to year". Here is how they group, with what the LPGA's published intern accounts say about each.
| Group | Areas listed by the LPGA | What intern accounts describe | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partnerships & marketing | Strategic Partnerships; Marketing | Partner asset inventories, researching and pitching prospective partners, 75th Anniversary planning, a rebrand, a loyalty program | Research, presenting, design |
| Communications | Communications | Historical data verification and ranking projections for a statistics internship | Statistics, writing, accuracy |
| Data & technology | Business Intelligence; Information Technology | A Business Intelligence intern describes data analytics applied to sports management decisions. No account for IT | Excel, data analysis |
| Tournaments | Tournament Operations; Tournament Business Affairs | Tournament interns describe on-site setup and sponsor stations at events. No account for these two areas by name | Logistics, communication |
| Corporate functions | Finance; Human Resources; Legal | A Talent & Culture intern worked on recruiting, engagement and a relocation policy. No account for Finance or Legal | Analysis, policy writing |
| Foundation | LPGA Foundation | Mid-year reports, outreach to golf courses for an auction and a benefit event | Fundraising, Canva, Excel |
The areas change by year, so confirm the current list on the Internship Program page before you choose. The intern accounts there are curated by the LPGA and aren't a complete job description.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The LPGA's Internship Qualifications are short:
• Enrollment: you must be a student actively enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Class year: the page asks for junior or senior level.
• GPA: a minimum of 3.0 is required.
• Graduate students and recent graduates: the page says they "will be considered".
• Work authorization, location and hours: not stated on the page.

Are Sophomores and Recent Graduates Eligible?
Sophomores don't meet the stated class-year rule, and the page names no exception. The page does name graduate students and recent graduates as considered, though it doesn't say how long after graduation. Treat the 3.0 GPA as a minimum with no stated exceptions.
What Skills Does the LPGA Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
The LPGA publishes no intern job description, so there is no skills count to chart. The program page and the seven intern accounts do show a mix of business tasks and tournament work. Partnerships and marketing interns describe asset inventories, partner research and pitching, anniversary planning and a rebrand. Data interns describe historical data verification, ranking projections and analytics behind decisions. Interns name Canva, Excel and Box as tools. Every intern builds a group project and presents it to senior leadership.
Note: No chart: the LPGA publishes no intern job descriptions and its board held no internship requisitions on 17 October 2026. The skills above come from the program page and its seven intern accounts.

For LPGA applicants: Marketing and partnerships feature in several of the LPGA's own intern accounts, but its board held no internships on 17 October 2026 and publishes no window. Apply to other marketing internships now and keep the LPGA as a program to watch.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill below comes from the LPGA's program page or its published intern accounts and maps to a remote Externship you can finish before a posting appears.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing and brand strategy | Marketing intern account: 75th Anniversary planning, a rebrand and a loyalty program | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Fan and audience insight | Marketing intern account: fan experiences and activations for future events | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
| Data analysis | Business Intelligence and Communications statistics accounts: data analytics, historical data verification | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
| Financial analysis | Finance is one of the eleven listed areas; no intern account describes the work | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation |
Finish a project and link it in your application. For a program that publishes no job description, a finished piece of work tells a reviewer what you can do.
What Is the LPGA Application and Interview Process Like?
The LPGA doesn't publish its application steps or interview format. Here is what its pages show:
1. Check your fit. Confirm you are a junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA, or a grad student or recent graduate.
2. Pick one area. Eleven are listed and they change by year. Choose the one that matches your major.
3. Watch the job board. Postings go on the LPGA job board linked from the program page. Check it weekly.
4. Apply and prepare. Steps after the application aren't published. Expect questions about your chosen area and your interest in women's golf.
Because the window is unknown, keep your résumé and a short note for each area you might choose ready in advance.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit has no LPGA intern thread. The golf internship posts there repost other employers' programs, so none is used here. The best first-hand source is the seven intern accounts the LPGA publishes on its own page, which the employer chose.
How Do You Stand Out for an LPGA Internship?
Three moves. First, match your major to one of the eleven areas and say why. A Business Intelligence applicant who has analyzed sports data reads very differently from a general love of golf. Second, show you can work on a team project, because every intern builds a group project for senior leadership. A class or Externship project where you presented findings is direct evidence. Third, learn the LPGA itself: the tour, the Foundation and the events interns describe, such as the Dana Open and the LPGA Amateurs. The LPGA doesn't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the internship as the goal and ask about full-time paths while you're there.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 LPGA internship?
No. On 17 October 2026 the LPGA's job board listed no internships, and its program page gives no dates for any session. The next program to plan for is the Summer Internship Program in summer 2027. Check the job board regularly, because the LPGA hasn't said when applications open.
When do LPGA summer 2027 internship applications open?
The LPGA hasn't published a date. Its Internship Program page lists no open or close dates, and its job board held no internships on 17 October 2026. We won't guess a month. Check the board weekly and keep your résumé ready, so you can apply when a posting appears.
Who is eligible for the LPGA Summer Internship Program?
The LPGA asks for a student actively enrolled in an accredited college or university, at junior or senior level, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. It adds that grad students and recent grads will be considered. Work authorization, location and hours are not stated on the page.
Are LPGA internships paid?
The LPGA doesn't say. Its Internship Program page doesn't state pay, hours or whether academic credit is required, and we left out figures that appear only on third-party sites. Confirm compensation on the posting itself when it goes up, and ask during the interview if it isn't listed.
Which departments take LPGA interns?
The LPGA lists eleven areas, subject to change each year: Strategic Partnerships, Tournament Business Affairs, Tournament Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, Legal, the Foundation, Marketing and Communications. Interns are assigned to one department and also complete a group project.
Is an LPGA internship the same as a PGA Tour internship?
No. The LPGA, the PGA Tour, the PGA of America and the USGA are separate organizations with separate internship programs and job systems. This page covers only the LPGA's Summer Internship Program. The teaching and club professionals under LPGA Professionals are also a different path from the national office.
What do LPGA interns work on?
Intern accounts on the LPGA's page describe partner asset inventories and pitching, 75th Anniversary planning, a rebrand, a loyalty program, historical data verification, Foundation fundraising and on-site tournament work. Every intern also builds a group project that's presented to senior leadership during the last week.
Do LPGA interns get full-time offers?
The LPGA doesn't publish a conversion rate or a class size. The seven intern accounts on its page describe the experience, not hiring outcomes. Ask about full-time paths during the internship, and watch the LPGA job board, which on 17 October 2026 held one full-time opening.
The LPGA hasn't announced its summer 2027 window. Use the time to build a finished project, and if you want one, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
