Kubota isn't one employer in the US. Kubota Manufacturing of America (KMA) in Georgia and Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) in Texas hire interns through different systems on different calendars. KMA has five Summer College Internship requisitions open on its ADP career site right now (checked October 25, 2026): Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources/Legal, Welding Engineering and Manufacturing Support, each 12 weeks at 40 hours a week in Gainesville, Georgia. KTC's Grapevine, Texas internship isn't posted for 2027 yet; its last one went up January 16, 2026 for a June 1 start. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and at KMA that means now.

The row that matters most: Kubota Manufacturing of America is taking applications right now for summer 2027, while Kubota Tractor Corporation's Texas internship isn't expected to post until about January 2027.
Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most often in 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship is close to the process and operations work in Kubota's plant reqs, and the Hydroficient IoT Cyber Defense Externship builds the security and systems basics behind the IT intern role. What Is a Kubota Internship?
A Kubota internship is a placement at one of Kubota's US operating companies, not a single group program. Kubota Manufacturing of America, founded in 1988 in Gainesville, Georgia, builds tractors, turf equipment, utility vehicles and implements, and runs 12-week Summer College Internships in engineering, IT, HR/legal, welding and manufacturing support. Kubota Tractor Corporation, headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, sells and supports the equipment in North America and has run a 10-week corporate internship with a capstone project presented to executive leadership. The two use separate job systems, so a posting on one board tells you nothing about the other. Kubota Corporation's home-country programs in Japan are outside this guide.

When Do Kubota Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Kubota's two US employers run on very different calendars, so read them separately. Kubota Manufacturing of America posted its five internship reqs between August 31 and September 21, 2026, about nine months ahead of a typical late-May or June start (the reqs don't print a start date, and neither the term nor the year appears in them; we read summer 2027 from the title and from the December 2027 graduation floor). We couldn't recover KMA's prior-cycle posting dates, so there's no year-over-year comparison for it. Kubota Tractor Corporation posted its summer 2026 internship on January 16, 2026 for a June 1 start, a lead of about four and a half months. That's one cycle, so the January 2027 projection for summer 2027 is low confidence.
Kubota Manufacturing of America's summer 2027 internships are open: Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources/Legal, Welding Engineering and Manufacturing Support, all in Gainesville, Georgia, all live on October 25, 2026. Kubota Tractor Corporation has no 2027 internship posted.
Check the graduation floor (December 2027 or later) against your own date before you apply, and keep an eye on the KTC Dayforce board. KMA's reqs carry no closing date, and one of them, Safety & Environmental, came down within about five weeks of posting.
Kubota Tractor Corporation's summer 2027 internship in Grapevine is expected to post. The summer 2026 version went up January 16, 2026 and ran June 1 to August 7. Projected from a single cycle, so treat the month as low confidence.
KTC's careers page lists four steps: apply, a phone screening, an interview with the hiring manager, and a panel interview. KMA doesn't publish its steps after you apply.
KMA's internships run 12 weeks at 40 hours a week on site in Georgia; its program page describes an onboarding phase, an operation phase and, for selected interns, a return skills phase. KTC's 2026 interns presented a capstone project to executive leadership at the end.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Kubota hasn't published a deadline for either employer, so the honest advice is to apply as soon as you see a req that fits. The evidence for moving fast is on KMA's own board. Its Safety & Environmental Summer College Internship was posted September 17 and was no longer listed by October 25, so individual roles do come down while the others stay up. Each KMA req is also a single role tied to a specific degree (the Welding Engineering req only takes Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology students), so there's no second chance to apply to the same seat. For Kubota Tractor Corporation, the lesson from 2026 is the opposite: nothing is open now, and the board is worth checking from January.
Which Kubota Internship Programs Should You Target?
The two employers have different tracks. Here's what's open now and what the last cycle looked like.
| Track | Focus | Duration | Key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| KMA Engineering Summer College Internship | Manufacturing engineering: welding, fabrication, assembly, paint, automation, process improvement | 12 weeks, 40 hrs/week | Open now; bachelor's or master's; Gainesville and Jefferson, GA |
| KMA Information Technology Summer College Internship | Service desk support, ticketing, troubleshooting, documentation | 12 weeks, 40 hrs/week | Open now; bachelor's or master's in IT, CS or cybersecurity; Gainesville and Jefferson, GA |
| KMA Welding Engineering Summer College Internship | Weld process development, WPS and PQR documentation, inspection support | 12 weeks, 40 hrs/week | Open now; Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology majors only |
| KMA Manufacturing Support and HR/Legal Summer College Internships | Standard work documents and training materials; HR and legal operations | 12 weeks, 40 hrs/week | Open now; Gainesville, GA; separate reqs |
| KTC Corporate Internship (Grapevine, TX) | Summer 2026 project: prediction modeling for connected machines | 10 weeks, June 1 to Aug 7, 2026 | Not posted for 2027; $18.00/hr in 2026; capstone to executive leadership |
Search KMA's ADP board and the KTC Dayforce portal separately, and read the three-phase program description on kubota-kma.com.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
These come from the five live KMA reqs and KTC's last internship req. Each KMA req lists its own majors.
• Degree (KMA): currently pursuing a bachelor's, or a bachelor's or master's for Engineering, IT and the others that say so. Welding Engineering accepts only Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology majors; HR/Legal names HR, business administration, pre-law, legal studies and related fields.
• Graduation date (KMA): expected graduation December 2027 or later. All five reqs say candidates graduating before December 2027 aren't eligible.
• Work authorization: KMA asks for legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship, and the Engineering req adds that visa sponsorship isn't available. KTC's 2026 req said the same.
• Enrollment (KTC, 2026): actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, working toward a bachelor's. No relocation or housing was offered.
• GPA: none of the five KMA reqs states a minimum.

Does the December 2027 Graduation Floor Rule Out Seniors?
Yes, for anyone finishing before December 2027. A student graduating in May 2027 is turned away by the req text, so this is a pre-senior program. A rising senior who graduates in December 2027 or later, or a rising junior, fits. If you're graduating in spring 2027, aim at full-time roles instead.
What Skills Does Kubota Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Three themes run through the five KMA reqs. Communication and documentation: every req asks for strong written and verbal communication, and the Manufacturing Support intern builds standard work documents and work instructions with photos and visual aids. Continuous improvement: all five mention it, and the Engineering req adds Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and root-cause analysis. Tool basics: Microsoft Office shows up in every req, CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, XVL) in two, and the IT req adds ticketing systems and Active Directory. Kubota Tractor Corporation's 2026 req asked for Office plus analytics and decision-making skills for a prediction-modeling project.

How Is Demand for Mechanical Engineering Interns Moving Right Now?
Mechanical engineering intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 207 in August
For Kubota applicants: Kubota Manufacturing of America had five internship reqs live on its own ADP board on October 25, 2026, all posted between August 31 and September 21, so the summer 2027 wave is already open there.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size. Pay = median of employer-published ranges only (87 postings in September, 36 in August).
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill KMA asks for maps to a remote Externship you can finish before most interview rounds.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Process documentation and standard work | KMA Manufacturing Support: standard work documents, work instructions, assembly process steps | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| IT support, systems and security basics | KMA Information Technology: ticketing, troubleshooting, Active Directory | Hydroficient Advanced: IoT Cyber Defense |
| Data analysis and modeling | KTC 2026 req: prediction modeling for connected machines; KMA Engineering: production data analysis | SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games |
| Presenting a project to leadership | KTC capstone to executive leadership; KMA Phase 3 PowerPoint to department heads | Corporate Strategy, mentored by Eric Ries |
No open Externship covers welding or mechanical design directly, so for those reqs lean on coursework and shop experience. For the documentation, IT and analytics reqs, a finished Externship deliverable is something you can walk an interviewer through.
What Is the Kubota Application and Interview Process Like?
Kubota doesn't publish one process. Here's what the evidence shows for each employer:
1. Pick the req for your degree. Each KMA req names its majors, so apply to the one that matches yours rather than the broadest.
2. Apply on the right board. KMA uses ADP at myjobs.adp.com/kubotaexternal; Kubota Tractor Corporation uses Dayforce. A profile on one doesn't carry to the other.
3. Phone screening (KTC). KTC's careers page lists a phone screening right after you apply.
4. Hiring manager interview, then a panel (KTC). The page lists an interview with the hiring manager followed by a panel interview.
5. KMA after you apply. KMA doesn't publish its interview steps or timing, so expect to hear by email and keep your ADP profile current.
Neither employer publishes interview questions. Expect questions tied to the req: your coursework in the field, any shop or lab experience, and why Kubota's equipment or plant interests you.
What the Community Says
We read three Reddit threads that mention Kubota and none is a first-hand account of a KMA or KTC internship, so there are no quotes here. KMA's own program page is the best source on what interns do.
How Do You Stand Out for a Kubota Internship?
First, match the req exactly. Kubota's reqs are narrow: Welding Engineering takes only welding majors, and the HR/Legal intern is for HR, business and pre-law students, so a clear fit beats a broad resume. Second, show you like the plant floor. The Manufacturing Support req prefers manufacturing, engineering or project experience and exposure to CAD and documentation tools, and the Engineering req prefers Lean and CAD familiarity. Third, bring a finished piece of work. Kubota Tractor Corporation interns present a capstone to executive leadership, and KMA's third phase ends with a 15 to 20 minute PowerPoint to department heads, so a project you've already presented is a head start. Kubota doesn't publish class sizes, applicant counts or a conversion rate, so we won't estimate them.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Kubota internship?
No. Summer 2026 internships have ended; Kubota Tractor Corporation's ran June 1 to August 7, 2026, and its listing is still on the board but expired. What's open now is Kubota Manufacturing of America's set of five summer 2027 internship reqs in Georgia, posted between August 31 and September 21, 2026.
When do Kubota summer 2027 internship applications open?
Kubota Manufacturing of America's already opened: its five reqs were posted between August 31 and September 21, 2026. Kubota Tractor Corporation hasn't posted a 2027 internship; its summer 2026 req went up January 16, 2026, so we expect about January 2027, based on one cycle.
Are Kubota internships rolling or is there a deadline?
Neither employer publishes a deadline. None of the five KMA reqs has a closing date, but a sixth one, Safety & Environmental, disappeared within about five weeks of posting, so seats can close without notice. Apply as soon as you see a req that fits your degree.
How much do Kubota interns get paid?
Kubota Tractor Corporation's summer 2026 internship paid $18.00 an hour, stated in its req. Kubota Manufacturing of America doesn't publish pay on its five reqs or on its internship page, so we can't give a figure; ask in the screening call rather than relying on third-party estimates.
Who is eligible for the Kubota Manufacturing of America internship?
Students pursuing a bachelor's (the Engineering and IT reqs also accept master's students) in a field the req names, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later, and legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship. No req states a minimum GPA.
Can international students apply for Kubota internships?
Only with their own US work authorization. The KMA reqs require authorization to work in the US without sponsorship, the Engineering req says visa sponsorship isn't available, and KTC's 2026 req said the same. Students on CPT or OPT should check with their school whether the role qualifies.
Where are Kubota internships located?
Kubota Manufacturing of America's five reqs are in Gainesville, Georgia, and the Engineering and IT reqs also name Jefferson, Georgia. Kubota Tractor Corporation's internship was at its Grapevine, Texas headquarters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with no relocation or housing help in 2026.
Do Kubota interns get full-time offers?
Kubota doesn't publish a conversion rate. KMA's engineering req says high-performing interns may be considered for future internship, co-op or full-time opportunities, and its program page lets selected interns return for a third 12-week phase. Treat any percentage you see elsewhere as unverified.
Apply to the Kubota Manufacturing of America req that fits your degree now, and check the Kubota Tractor Corporation board again in January. In between, a remote Externship gives you a finished project to talk about in your interviews.
