Koch's summer 2027 internships are open now. On October 26, 2026, Koch's shared college-recruiting board listed 149 US internships and co-ops across 15 Koch companies, and 51 of them were at Georgia-Pacific alone. Postings have gone up continuously since June, and two tracks, Tax and Koch Equity, are already posting for summer 2028. No posting we read names a closing date. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and because the board keeps adding roles, the earlier you apply the better.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most often in 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis Externship practices the analysis Koch's finance interns do, and the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship works on the operations problems behind Koch's supply chain and plant roles. What Is a Koch Internship?

A Koch internship is a paid, on-site summer placement with one of the companies Koch, Inc. owns, not with a single Koch department. Koch, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, and its own postings say it employs more than 120,000 people worldwide. Georgia-Pacific, Molex, Koch Fertilizer, Flint Hills Resources, Guardian Glass and DEPCOM Power all post to the same college board, and each hires for its own plants and offices. This guide counts each company separately. It isn't the Charles Koch Institute internship, a nonprofit policy program run by Stand Together. Koch doesn't publish a class size on its own pages.

When Do Koch Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Koch posts in waves that differ by company. The Koch Inc. finance, accounting and business analytics internships for summer 2027 went up January 23, 2026, about 16 months before a late-May start. Koch Fertilizer, Koch Methanol and Koch Energy Services followed between June 24 and September 11, Molex from July 15 to October 19, and Georgia-Pacific from July 10 to October 22, which is roughly 7 to 11 months ahead. Tax and Koch Equity run furthest ahead: their summer 2028 postings opened August 28 and September 2, 2026, about 21 months out. We read these dates from the board's posting feed, and exact summer 2026 posting dates weren't recoverable, so the summer 2028 window for the other tracks is a projection: expect engineering, operations and IT postings from about June 2027, with medium confidence.

Now, no stated deadlineROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

No posting we read gives a closing date, and the board keeps adding roles. Don't wait for a deadline. Check the term in the title before you apply, because some posting bodies carry old dates, such as a summer 2027 supply chain internship whose text still says mid-August 2026.

Summer 2027

Twelve weeks, late May to early or mid-August 2027, on-site at the plant, mill or office. Koch says intern projects come from real business needs and are confirmed closer to the start date.

June 2027 onwardEXPECTED

Summer 2028 engineering, operations and IT postings expected, if the 2026 pattern repeats (medium confidence, one observed cycle). Tax and Koch Equity summer 2028 postings are already live.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Koch's board doesn't announce a deadline, which can mislead. Postings from June are still open in late October, so the window is long, but nothing says a role stays open until you get to it, and Koch adds and rewrites postings weekly. Reading a long-open board as unlimited time is the common mistake. Apply to the roles that match your term now, one company at a time. The earliest-posted tracks are the ones most likely to move through interviews first, and the finance, tax and investment tracks already post 16 to 21 months ahead of the start.

Which Koch Internship Programs Should You Target?

Koch's board is a list of companies, so the table groups postings by employer. Counts are postings, not seats, and multi-location postings count once.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Requirements are set per posting. These come from the postings we read on October 26, 2026.

• Enrollment: most postings ask for a student enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's program related to the role. Technician roles also accept a 2-year technical college or certificate program.

• Graduation timing: Koch Inc. finance and tax postings ask for full-time eligibility no later than summer 2028. The summer 2028 Tax and Koch Equity postings say no later than summer 2029. The Georgia-Pacific MBA internship is for graduate MBA students.

• Work authorization: 124 of the 149 postings include visa language, and the ones we read say you must be able to work in the US for any employer without a visa transfer or sponsorship. Koch Fertilizer says its internship isn't eligible for visa sponsorship.

• Aerospace and defense: Molex Aerospace & Defense roles require US citizenship or lawful permanent residence, or eligibility for an export authorization.

• GPA: none of the postings we read states a minimum.

Is It Only for Seniors?

No posting we read limits the class year. Koch's finance and tax postings count backward from full-time eligibility, which reads as a junior or a student in the final two years, but engineering, technician and operator roles name a program, not a year. Summer 2028 Tax and Koch Equity roles are for students graduating no later than summer 2029, so they open the door to sophomores. Read the posting for your company.

What Skills Does Koch Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Koch's postings reward ownership more than a toolkit. Problem solving and troubleshooting appear in 82 of the 149, safety in 70, and communication in 61, which makes sense for plant and mill roles. Analytical thinking shows up in 57. The finance and business roles add Excel (29 postings) and data tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx (21), and the IT roles add Python (16) and SQL (15). Koch also describes Principle Based Management, so expect questions about how you make decisions and own results.

What Is the Koch Application and Interview Process Like?

Koch's How We Hire page describes four stages and says the process may differ by position.

1. Find your role. Search the College Recruiting board by company, career field or keyword, and join the Talent Community on kochinc.com/early-careers if you want alerts.

2. Apply. Use the Apply now button on the posting. Check the term in the title first.

3. Pre-interview. Koch lists a screening step before interviews. Its postings don't spell out the format.

4. Interview. Interviews can be on-site, virtual or both, and the process emphasizes Koch's values, including Principle Based Management.

5. Decision. Koch doesn't publish timing between steps.

Koch publishes no interview questions.

What We Found on Reddit

Not enough to quote. The only first-hand intern replies we could read are from 2011 and 2015, too old to describe today's program, and the recent Koch threads are written by full-time staff. We'd rather show no quotes than borrow someone else's. Searches for a Koch internship also surface the Charles Koch Institute program, which is a different organization.

How Do You Stand Out With a Company Made of Many Companies?

First, choose a Koch company and talk about its business. A candidate for Georgia-Pacific should know what a mill does, and a Koch Fertilizer applicant should know nitrogen production at a basic level. Second, show ownership with a specific example, since Koch's values center on Principle Based Management and its postings say interns work on real business projects. Third, match the term and the visa wording before you apply. Koch doesn't publish a class size or a conversion rate, so treat any percentage you see elsewhere as unverified.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Koch internship?

No. Summer 2026 internships ran this past summer and are over. The roles open now are for summer 2027, with spring and fall 2027 co-ops, and Tax and Koch Equity are already posting summer 2028. On October 26, 2026, Koch's board listed 149 US internships and co-ops.

When do Koch internship applications open?

It depends on the company. Koch Inc. finance and accounting posted January 23, 2026, Koch Fertilizer from June 24, Georgia-Pacific from July 10 and Molex from July 15. Tax and Koch Equity summer 2028 postings opened in late August and early September 2026. Engineering summer 2028 postings are expected from about June 2027.

Is there a deadline for Koch internships?

No posting we read states one. Postings from June were still open on October 26, and Koch was adding new ones weekly, so the window is long. Nothing promises a role stays open until you apply, so submit early and don't wait for a date to appear.

Which Koch companies hire interns?

Fifteen Koch companies had open US internships or co-ops on October 26, 2026. The largest are Georgia-Pacific with 51, Koch Fertilizer with 26, Molex with 19 and Koch Inc. with 17. Others include DEPCOM Power, Guardian Glass, Flint Hills Resources and Koch Engineered Solutions.

How much do Koch interns get paid?

26 of the 149 postings state pay, between $16 and $40 an hour: DEPCOM Power lists $30 and Flint Hills Resources $35 for its pipeline reliability internship. Eleven Molex postings list $25 to $40. The other postings we read give no figure, so check the specific posting.

How long is a Koch internship?

Summer internships run 12 weeks, from late May to early or mid-August 2027, on-site at the plant, mill or office. Co-ops follow the spring or fall term named in the posting title. Koch's postings describe the work as projects based on real business needs, confirmed closer to your start date.

Does Koch sponsor visas for interns?

Mostly no. 124 of the 149 postings include visa language, and the ones we read require you to work in the US without a visa transfer or sponsorship. Koch Fertilizer says its internship isn't eligible for visa sponsorship. Molex Aerospace and Defense roles require US-person status or export eligibility.

Is this the same as the Charles Koch Institute internship?

No. The Charles Koch Institute internship is a policy program run by Stand Together, a nonprofit. This guide covers internships at Koch, Inc. and its businesses, including Georgia-Pacific, Molex, Koch Fertilizer and Flint Hills Resources, which post on Koch's own College Recruiting board.

Pick the Koch company that matches your major and apply this week, checking the term in the title. While you wait, a remote Externship gives you a finished analysis or operations project to talk about in the interview.
