What Is a Kering Internship?

A Kering internship is a paid, credit-based placement at one of the luxury group's houses, not a group-wide program. In the US that means New York and New Jersey roles posted house by house: Bottega Veneta Inc. (human resources, retail operations, store planning, inventory control), Boucheron Joaillerie USA (merchandising) and Kering Eyewear USA, which currently lists an apprenticeship for seniors and recent graduates. Kering's other houses, including Gucci, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, had no intern-titled US requisition on October 25, 2026. Each req names its own team, manager and start date, and the Bottega Veneta reqs state that students must be able to receive academic credit. Kering's many internships in Paris, Milan and Asia are separate programs outside this guide.

When Do Kering Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Kering's US houses don't run one calendar, so the evidence is a set of dated one-offs. The fall 2026 reqs went up on August 3, August 12 and September 28 with start dates of August 24, September 8 and October 26, a lead of three to four weeks from posting to start, which is the shortest tier we track. The only summer data point is a Bottega Veneta Architecture & Preservation Intern, Summer req dated April 1, 2026, and a Wholesale Intern, Fall req dated September 1, 2026. Projecting forward, summer 2027 reqs are expected around March to April 2027 and fall 2027 reqs around August to September 2027. With two dated points, treat both as low confidence.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Kering's urgency is rolling and one seat at a time. Each req covers a single role at one house with a fixed start date, posted three to four weeks ahead, and Kering publishes no closing date. The August 2026 Bottega Veneta reqs are still listed two months after their stated start dates, so a posting that stays up tells you little about whether a seat is left. What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

There's no group-wide rulebook. These come from the five live reqs.

• Academic credit (Bottega Veneta): all four reqs say students "MUST be able to receive academic credit for this paid internship." The Boucheron req doesn't state it.

• Level: the Retail Operations req asks for a master's or undergraduate student. Boucheron asks for someone currently pursuing a degree in business, fashion merchandising, marketing or a related field.

• Availability: 32 hours a week for the HR and Architecture reqs, 40 for Retail Operations, and 4 days a week in office for Boucheron. The HR intern must be able to work in the New York corporate office.

• Skills floor: Excel appears in every req, and PowerPoint in four of the five. CAD is required only for Architecture, and Workday knowledge is preferred only for HR.

• GPA and work authorization: none of the five reqs states a GPA minimum or addresses visa sponsorship.

Do I Need School Credit to Apply?

For the four Bottega Veneta reqs, yes: the credit line is a stated requirement, not a preference. Ask your registrar or career office whether your school will grant credit for an outside paid internship before you apply, because some require a faculty sponsor or a course enrollment. The Boucheron req doesn't mention credit, so it's the one to ask about if your school can't arrange it.

What Skills Does Kering Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Three themes run through the five live reqs. Spreadsheet fluency: Excel appears in every one, and the Boucheron req specifically names pivot tables, lookups and complex formulas. Communication and teamwork: written and verbal communication shows up in all five, with team collaboration named in four. Self-direction in a fast-paced office: three of the Bottega Veneta reqs ask for "initiative" and self-sufficiency, and four mention a fast-paced environment. Role-specific extras are thin: CAD for Architecture, Workday for HR, and market intelligence and planogram building for Boucheron.

What Is the Kering Application and Interview Process Like?

Kering doesn't publish an interview process for its US interns, and we found no first-hand account of one. What the reqs show:

1. Find the req. Search careers.kering.com or the kering.com North America list by house name. Each req names the hiring entity, such as Bottega Veneta Inc. or Boucheron Joaillerie USA.

2. Confirm school credit. For Bottega Veneta, check that your school will grant credit before you apply.

3. Apply to the single req. Each req is one role with a fixed start date, and the start date sits three to four weeks after the posting date.

4. Review and interviews. Not published.

We read the Reddit threads that mention Kering and found no first-hand account of a US Kering intern. They are general fashion-career advice and Paris office-culture posts, so we're not quoting them. We'll add intern reports when they appear.

How Do You Stand Out at Kering?

First, be early to each posting. Kering lists one seat at a time with a start date weeks away, so applying the week a req appears is the only way to be in the pool before the term starts. Second, aim at a specific house, not at Kering. The Boucheron req asks for interest in "luxury retail, jewelry, or fashion merchandising," and the Bottega Veneta reqs describe a single team's work, so a cover note that names the team and the task reads better than a general luxury pitch. Third, bring Excel proof. Every req lists it, and a spreadsheet project with pivot tables and lookups gives you something concrete to describe.
