Hermès doesn't run a classic ten-week summer internship in the US. Its program, Generation H, runs as two five-month cohorts a year at the New York headquarters of Hermès of Paris, the house's US subsidiary. Every Generation H requisition we've read pays $20.00 an hour, in person, full time or part time so students can keep taking classes.
As of 3 October 2026, no Generation H seat is open to a new applicant. The only 2027 Semester 1 role posted so far, a Trade Marketing & Operations intern for the Saint-Louis crystal brand scheduled for 11 January to 2 July 2027, went up on 27 August and was off Hermès' own board within about five weeks. The one intern listing still showing belongs to the cohort that started in July. In plain words: for 2027, watch for more Semester 1 roles this fall, and expect the summer-anchored Semester 2 roles to post from about mid-March 2027.

Nothing is open today. More 2027 Semester 1 roles are expected around October to November 2026, and the summer-anchored 2027 Semester 2 roles around mid-March to mid-May 2027; each listing stays up only weeks.
Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, and the gap until Hermès posts again is a good time to do one. The Consumer Behavior Insights Externship with Generous Brands builds the client and assortment thinking behind merchandising roles, and the TikTok Social Media Content & Brand Strategy Externship builds the campaign skills Hermès' digital sales roles ask for.
What Is an Hermès Internship?
A Hermès internship in the US means Generation H, the internship program of Hermès of Paris, Inc., which runs 39 US boutiques and employs more than 1,500 people, according to its own requisitions. Each intern joins one New York corporate team for five months and, alongside that work, attends a guest-speaker series, works with a mentor and collaborates on a cohort-wide capstone project.
Roles change every cohort. The 2026 Semester 2 class included digital sales operations, e-commerce, merchandising, inventory planning, IT, employee engagement and treasury interns. The parent group, Hermès International, reported €16.0 billion in 2025 revenue and 26,494 employees.

When Do Hermès Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Generation H is short-lead and multi-cohort. Each role posts two to five months before its start: the 2027 Semester 1 role posted on 27 August 2026 for an 11 January 2027 start, and the 2026 Semester 2 wave posted between about mid-March and mid-May 2026 for a 13 July start. Last cycle's spring cohort also had a Client Events role created around late October to mid-November 2025, which is why more 2027 Semester 1 roles are expected this fall.
The calendar has moved before. 2025 Semester 2 roles were still being posted in late June 2025, a month or two later than the 2026 wave, so treat the 2027 dates below as estimates with medium-low confidence.
No Generation H seat is open right now. The Saint-Louis Trade Marketing & Operations role for 2027 Semester 1 came off Hermès' board between 28 September and 3 October. Check the Oracle board weekly, filtered to the United States.
More 2027 Semester 1 roles are expected to post, one requisition per team, based on last cycle's Client Events role. If one fits, apply the week it appears; you'll need to be in New York from 11 January to 2 July 2027.
2027 Semester 1 starts and runs to 2 July 2027, full time or part time depending on the role.
Applications for 2027 Semester 2, the cohort that covers most of summer 2027, are expected to post team by team. The 2026 wave had at least nine New York roles in this window.
Semester 1 interns finish on 2 July. Semester 2 is expected to start in mid-July 2027 (the 2026 cohort started 13 July) and run to mid-December. Hermès publishes no conversion rate.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Generation H roles carry no deadline, but they don't stay up long. The 2027 Semester 1 Saint-Louis role was live on Hermès' Oracle board for about five weeks. A 2026 Semester 2 digital sales operations role posted around mid-March came off a job-board mirror on 4 May, about seven weeks later. Each requisition is a single seat on a single team, so once that team has its intern, the listing goes.
That makes this a short-window program. Set a weekly reminder to search the board for "Generation H" from mid-October and again from mid-March, and have a tailored resume ready so you can apply within days of a role appearing.
Which Hermès Internship Programs Should You Target?
There's one program, but every Generation H seat is a different team. These are roles Hermès has posted for recent cohorts.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Hermès sets requirements per role, so read each requisition's "About You" section. Across the ones we checked:
• Enrollment: one 2026 role asked for junior or senior undergraduates enrolled in classes for the whole internship; others accepted Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's students; the 2027 Saint-Louis role asked for an undergraduate with about six months of prior experience recommended.
• Availability: you must be able to work the full five-month cohort, in person at the New York headquarters.
• Language: French is listed as a plus or strongly preferred, never required.
• GPA and sponsorship: none of the Generation H requisitions we read states a GPA floor or a sponsorship policy. Ask the recruiter if you'd need sponsorship.
• Not internships: New York listings labeled V.I.E. are French government contracts for French or EEA nationals aged 18 to 28.

Can You Do Generation H Part-Time While in School?
Often, yes. Most Generation H requisitions say the role may be full time or part time to fit your academic schedule, with part time defined as more than 15 and fewer than 35 hours a week. Some roles, including at least one 2026 digital sales operations seat, were full time only, so confirm on the specific listing before applying.
What Skills Does Hermès Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Generation H roles are operational and hands-on, and the skill lists read that way. Excel turns up in every requisition we read, from "strong skills on Excel and PowerPoint required" for the Saint-Louis role to pivot tables and lookups for treasury. Next come written communication, organization and the ability to work on your own. Three roles mention luxury or fashion: as an advantage, as a plus, or as being "sensitive to" the luxury market. Two flag French, and two name design tools, Canva and InDesign.

Method: full-text read of five Generation H requisitions: 2027 Semester 1 Trade Marketing & Operations and 2026 Semester 2 Employee Engagement on Hermès' Oracle board (read 28 September and 3 October 2026), plus 2026 Digital Sales Operations, Client Events and Treasury roles via Built In NYC and Prosple copies of the employer text. Each requisition is one team, so a small N is the norm.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each row pairs a line from a Generation H requisition with a remote Externship that builds it.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign and content execution | Digital Sales Operations: "execution of digital campaigns for internal sales" | TikTok Social Media Content & Brand Strategy |
| Consumer and assortment insight | Saint-Louis: "products ranking, inventory analysis" and merchandise forecasting | Consumer Behavior Insights with Generous Brands |
| Inventory and operations reporting | Digital Sales Operations: "allocations & overall inventory management" | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| Excel-based financial analysis | Treasury: "Excel expertise, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups" | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis |
Because each Generation H seat is one team, match the project you cite to the role: a sales report for trade marketing, a campaign deck for digital sales, a reconciliation model for treasury.
What Is the Hermès Application and Interview Process Like?
Hermès doesn't publish its interview process. Here's what the requisitions and community posts show:
1. Find a role. Search the Oracle board for "Generation H" with location set to the United States; each listing is one team's seat.
2. Apply to that role. Create a candidate account and upload your resume through the Oracle flow; tailor it to the team's "About the Role" list.
3. First-round interview. A May 2026 candidate described an online first round for an IT internship.
4. Offer. Made per role; the requisitions give no timeline.
Confirm your availability for the full cohort before you apply, because every requisition makes it a condition of the program.
What Students on Reddit Say
Hermès threads on Reddit are mostly about the boutiques, but three touch the corporate side.
A candidate with an online first-round interview for a Hermès IT internship in May 2026 got practical advice: prepare short stories about impact and ownership from past internships, and look to interview-review sites rather than a fan forum for process detail.
When a student asked how to become a boutique sales associate, commenters said Hermès sales staff usually come from other luxury houses, and one pointed to the many Hermès intern postings in PR, IT and other corporate departments as the more open door.
On corporate life, a France-based answer said remote work is rare at Hermès, and a second-hand account from New York corporate about nine years ago described pay and benefits as low for the industry.
How Do You Stand Out for a Generation H Seat?
Three moves.
First, apply to the team, not the brand. Each requisition lists its own duties, so mirror them: reporting and forecasting for trade marketing, writing samples for employee engagement, reconciliations for treasury. A generic "I love Hermès" application reads like every other one.
Second, show you know the house. Hermès describes itself through artisanship, materials and its métiers. If the role sits with Saint-Louis crystal or e-commerce, know what that team sells and how.
Third, lead with French or Excel if you have them. French is a plus on several roles, and Excel appears in every one we read. Hermès publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate, so treat any number you see elsewhere with caution.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Hermès internship?
No. The 2026 Semester 2 cohort, which covered most of summer 2026, started on 13 July 2026. As of 3 October 2026 no Generation H seat is open. More 2027 Semester 1 roles are expected around October to November 2026, and 2027 Semester 2 roles around mid-March to mid-May 2027.
Does Hermès offer summer internships in the US?
Not as a classic ten-week summer program. Hermès of Paris runs Generation H, two five-month cohorts a year in New York. Semester 1 runs roughly January to early July and Semester 2 roughly mid-July to mid-December, so summer 2027 sits across both cohorts.
How much do Hermès interns earn?
$20.00 an hour, on every Generation H requisition we checked from 2026 Semester 1 through 2027 Semester 1. Full-time interns work 37.5 hours a week, which works out to $750 a week before tax. The requisitions don't list intern benefits.
Where are Hermès internships located?
In person at the Hermès US corporate headquarters in New York City. Every Generation H requisition says internships are non-remote. The US company also has a Beverly Hills office and a New Jersey distribution center, but no current evidence shows interns placed there.
When do Hermès internship applications open?
Each role posts about two to five months before its cohort starts and stays up only weeks. Expect more 2027 Semester 1 roles around October to November 2026 and 2027 Semester 2 roles around mid-March to mid-May 2027. Search Hermès' Oracle board for "Generation H" weekly.
Can I do a Hermès internship part-time?
Often. Most Generation H roles may be full time or part time to fit your classes, with part time meaning more than 15 and fewer than 35 hours a week. Some roles are full time only, and every role requires you to be available for the whole five-month cohort.
Do I need to speak French for a Hermès internship?
No. Requisitions describe French as a plus or strongly preferred, never required. It helps on teams that work closely with the head office in France, such as the Saint-Louis crystal team, so mention it prominently in your resume and cover letter if you have it.
Are the V.I.E. jobs at Hermès in New York internships?
No. Listings labeled V.I.E. are French government international volunteer contracts open to French or EEA nationals aged 18 to 28. They aren't part of Generation H and aren't open to most US students, even though they appear on the same New York job board.
Hermès' next Generation H roles are weeks to months away, and they don't stay up long. Build your proof now: a remote Externship gives you a finished project to tailor to the team you apply to.
