Last updated: October 2026
Global Atlantic no longer recruits interns under its own name. Its student program now runs as KKR's 2027 Summer Analyst Program for the insurance business, posted on KKR's student careers board, and Global Atlantic's old internships page returns a 404. On October 5, 2026 that board had six live Global Atlantic tracks: actuarial in Des Moines, sales in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and four insurance risk teams in New York. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027.
The pay is published. The New York tracks list an expected base of $100,000 to $110,000 annualized, the Des Moines actuarial track $70,000 to $75,000 annualized, and the Wayne sales track $27.88 an hour. Every track targets students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028, and none states a deadline, so apply while the roles are up.
What Is a Global Atlantic Internship?
A Global Atlantic internship is a paid summer analyst role on one of Global Atlantic's insurance teams, now recruited under KKR's 2027 Summer Analyst Program. Global Atlantic, founded in 2004, is a wholly owned subsidiary of KKR that provides retirement income through annuities, life insurance and reinsurance; its operating companies include Forethought Life, Commonwealth Annuity and Accordia Life. Interns work on reserves and actuarial models, risk and hedging analytics, data science or sales support, and strong performers may receive 2028 full-time offers. KKR's investing summer analyst program is a different program on a different calendar, covered in our KKR internship guide. Global Atlantic isn't General Atlantic, the growth-equity firm.

When Do Global Atlantic Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Global Atlantic's six summer 2027 insurance tracks were first posted between August 17 and September 21, 2026 (Greenhouse timestamps, which are a lower bound on the public posting date), about 9 to 10 months before a June 2027 start. Earlier 2027 insurance roles in investments and New York reinsurance actuarial work appear on job mirrors as posted around early 2026 and now archived, which matches KKR's January calendar for its investing analysts. So the brand runs two calendars. For summer 2028, expect actuarial, risk and sales tracks around mid-August to late September 2027, and any investment-style insurance seats possibly around January 2027 with KKR's main wave. Both are low-confidence projections from one cycle.
Applications for summer 2027 are open right now on six Global Atlantic tracks: Actuarial (Des Moines), Individual Markets Sales (Wayne, PA), and Data Science, Liability Risk, QALM/Liquidity Risk and Sector Analytics (New York). Earlier 2027 insurance investments and reinsurance roles appear to have closed.
Interviews for the open tracks. Global Atlantic doesn't publish the format or a decision date, and roles come down when filled.
KKR's investing summer analyst portal for summer 2028 is expected to open, based on its January 2026 window for summer 2027. Any investment-style Global Atlantic seats may follow this calendar (low confidence).
About 10 weeks on your Global Atlantic team in New York, Des Moines or Wayne. After the internship, 2028 full-time offers may go to exceptional performers.
Applications for summer 2028 actuarial, risk, data science and sales tracks are expected to open, projected from this year's August and September postings.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
None of the six Global Atlantic postings states a deadline, so this isn't a hard-cutoff program. That cuts both ways: a role is open only while it's listed, and nothing on the posting tells you when it'll come down. Global Atlantic's own internships page said in 2025 that it receives thousands of internship applications each year, and earlier 2027 insurance roles in investments and reinsurance have already gone from the board. Treat the six live tracks as rolling and apply in the first weeks, while every seat is still open.
Which Global Atlantic Internship Programs Should You Target?
Each track is a separate requisition on KKR's board, so apply to the team that fits your skills. The six live on October 5, 2026:
| Track | Focus | Location and pay | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Insurance - Actuarial | Statutory, tax and GAAP reserves, reinsurance deal onboarding, assumption testing, model maintenance | Des Moines; $70,000 to $75,000 annualized | 1+ SOA exam, Excel, Python (VBA valued), AI coding assistants |
| Insurance Risk - Liability Risk (Modeling) | Liability models for new products and institutional deals, stress testing, validations | New York; $100,000 to $110,000 annualized | Excel; SAS, Python or VBA preferred |
| Insurance Risk - QALM/Liquidity Risk | Daily hedging, asset-liability metrics, liquidity stress tests in a Python risk system | New York; $100,000 to $110,000 annualized | Quantitative analytics, derivatives, Python |
| Insurance Risk - Sector Analytics | Asset cash flow models for the investment portfolio, reports and Tableau dashboards | New York; $100,000 to $110,000 annualized | Python; SQL and Excel a plus; fixed income |
| Insurance Risk - Data Science (master's) | Machine learning, AI solutions and automated data pipelines | New York; $100,000 to $110,000 annualized | Python and SQL required; generative AI tooling |
| Insurance - Individual Markets - Sales | Supporting the sales office: advisor engagement, training, competitor benchmarking; take the SIE exam | Wayne, PA; $27.88/hr | Communication, presentations, Office |
Find them on KKR's student career opportunities page; the same board lists KKR's own technology and K-Star internships, which aren't Global Atlantic roles.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The six postings share most requirements:
• Graduation date: December 2027 to June 2028, so most applicants are rising seniors in summer 2027. The Data Science track is for master's students graduating in that window.
• Degree: a quantitative major (actuarial science, math, statistics, computer science or engineering) for the actuarial, risk and data tracks; the sales track is open to any major.
• Exams: the actuarial track requires "completion of at least one Society of Actuaries exam"; sales interns study for and take the SIE.
• GPA: no number. The actuarial and sales postings ask for an "outstanding academic record."
• Work authorization: none of the six postings mentions visa sponsorship, so confirm with the recruiter if you need it.

Does Global Atlantic Have a GPA Cutoff?
Not a published one. Two postings ask for an outstanding academic record without naming a number, and four say nothing about grades. The hard gates are elsewhere: the graduation window, one passed SOA exam for actuarial applicants, and, on the Data Science track, required Python and SQL plus about three years of programming experience.

What Skills Does Global Atlantic Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Every Global Atlantic posting asks for the "ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and relevance," and the actuarial track names Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Cursor as tools for faster development. Beyond that, actuarial and risk tracks want Python, Excel and VBA or SAS for reserve and liability models, sector analytics and data science add SQL, Tableau and machine learning, and the sales track leans on communication and presentations.

What Is the Global Atlantic Application and Interview Process Like?
Global Atlantic doesn't publish an interview process for its insurance tracks, so this is what the postings and KKR's board show:
1. Find the track on KKR's board. Search "Insurance" on KKR's student career opportunities page; Global Atlantic's own internships page is gone.
2. Apply to each track separately. You can also join KKR's Americas Campus Talent Community on the same board for updates.
3. Check the gates. Graduation between December 2027 and June 2028, a quantitative major for most tracks, and one passed SOA exam for actuarial.
4. Interviews. The format isn't published for these tracks, and KKR's investing interviews (with modeling tests) are a different process. Prepare technical questions from the posting you applied to, plus behavioral stories.
5. Offer and summer. Interns who perform strongly may receive 2028 full-time offers after the internship.
Our behavioral interview guide shows how to build STAR stories for the behavioral part.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit has little on Global Atlantic's internship; these two threads name the insurer, not General Atlantic.
A sophomore weighing a Global Atlantic quant intern offer in New York against Amazon said the Global Atlantic role was 10 weeks; a reply put both at $50 to $55 an hour, with a $5,000 housing stipend at Global Atlantic. Commenters said to take the quant seat for a quant career.
A student in the interview process for a Global Atlantic reinsurance deal-strategy internship asked what the program and reputation were like now that KKR owns the company. Nobody replied, which shows how little first-hand detail is posted about it.
How Do You Stand Out for a Global Atlantic Internship?
Three moves. First, search KKR, not Global Atlantic. The tracks sit on KKR's board under "2027 Summer Analyst Program - Insurance," and many students miss them. Second, show Python plus judgment about AI. Five of six postings name Python and all six ask you to check AI output, so bring one example where you caught an error in AI-generated code or numbers. Third, match the track's math. Actuarial applicants need one SOA exam passed; risk applicants should be ready to talk about stress tests, hedging or cash flow models at a student level. Global Atlantic publishes no applicant count or conversion rate, though the 2025 internships page said it gets thousands of applications a year.

What Other Companies Should You Consider?

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Global Atlantic internship?
No. Summer 2026 is over. Summer 2027 is the open cycle: on October 5, 2026 KKR's student board listed six Global Atlantic insurance tracks in actuarial, risk, data science and sales, with no deadline stated. Earlier 2027 insurance investments and reinsurance roles appear to have closed, so apply to the live tracks now.
Where do I apply for a Global Atlantic internship?
Through KKR. Global Atlantic's careers page sends students to KKR's student careers site, and its old internships page now returns an error. On KKR's student career opportunities board, the roles are titled "2027 Summer Analyst Program - Insurance" followed by the team name. Apply to each track separately.
How much do Global Atlantic interns make?
The postings publish pay. The four New York tracks list $100,000 to $110,000 as an annualized base, the Des Moines actuarial track $70,000 to $75,000 annualized, and the Wayne sales track $27.88 an hour. You're paid for the summer weeks you work, not the full year, and a discretionary bonus is possible.
Who is eligible for Global Atlantic's summer analyst program?
Students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028. Five tracks are for undergraduates and the Data Science track is for master's students. Actuarial, risk and data tracks want a quantitative major, and the actuarial track requires at least one passed Society of Actuaries exam. No posting mentions visa sponsorship.
Is there a GPA cutoff for Global Atlantic internships?
No number is published. The actuarial and sales postings ask for an "outstanding academic record," and the four New York risk and data postings don't mention grades at all. Focus on the stated gates instead: graduation date, quantitative coursework, Python skills and, for actuarial applicants, one passed SOA exam.
Is Global Atlantic the same as General Atlantic?
No. Global Atlantic is a retirement and life insurer owned by KKR, and its interns work on actuarial, risk, data and sales teams. General Atlantic is a separate growth-equity investment firm with its own internships. The names are easy to confuse when searching job boards or asking for referrals.
Do Global Atlantic interns get full-time offers?
Some do. Every 2027 posting says "2028 full-time offers may be extended to exceptional performers" after the internship, but no conversion rate is published. Global Atlantic also had a 2027 full-time analyst role for its New York commercial insurance team on KKR's board, so it hires graduates directly too.
When will summer 2028 Global Atlantic applications open?
Expect actuarial, risk, data science and sales tracks for summer 2028 around mid-August to late September 2027, based on this year's postings. Investment-style insurance seats may follow KKR's January calendar instead, so check KKR's board around January 2027 too. Both are low-confidence projections from one cycle.
Global Atlantic's six summer 2027 tracks are open now with no stated deadline. Apply while they're listed, and build a modeling or AI project you can explain: a remote Externship gives you one in about 8 weeks.
