Gallup's summer 2027 internships are posted, and each one prints its pay. On October 12, 2026, the firm's job board listed eight summer 2027 intern postings, all first published on September 8, 2026, at $18 to $50 an hour for 12 full-time weeks. The Workplace Advisory Consulting internship, in Omaha and Washington, D.C., states its deadline in the first line: Gallup is accepting applications through October 30, 2026. The six technology and finance postings give no date and say the position "will be filled quickly." In plain words: you apply in fall 2026, you intern in summer 2027.
Check one rule before anything else. Every posting ties you to a school near the office. Seven require enrollment at a college or university within 250 miles of Omaha or Washington, D.C., and the San Francisco role sets an 80-mile radius. If your campus is outside the circle, the posting screens you out on paper.
What Is a Gallup Internship?
A Gallup internship is a paid, 12-week, full-time summer role at Gallup, the analytics and advisory firm known for public opinion polling, the Q12 employee engagement survey and CliftonStrengths. Interns work on-site Monday through Thursday in Omaha, Washington, D.C. or San Francisco, with the option to work remotely on Friday. Gallup's internships page says its programs give "undergraduate and postgraduate students" the chance to "work on real projects with real clients." The consulting track is the best known: interns join a Workplace Advisory team and "design, implement and present an employee engagement project." Vault ranks the firm, listed as Gallup Consulting, #34 on its Most Prestigious Consulting Firms list (2026 edition). Gallup publishes no intern class size and no conversion rate, so this page sticks to what the eight postings say.

When Do Gallup Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Gallup published all eight summer 2027 internship postings on September 8, 2026, roughly nine months before a summer start (the postings don't print start dates). The two consulting postings give applicants until October 30, 2026, a window of about seven weeks. The technology and fintech postings carry no date. We couldn't measure the previous cycle, so the summer 2028 dates below are projected from this one cycle and are low to medium confidence.
Applications for summer 2027 are posted on all eight roles. Workplace Advisory Consulting (Omaha and Washington, D.C.) accepts applications through October 30, 2026. The six technology and fintech roles have no deadline and can come down as soon as they fill.
Last day for Workplace Advisory Consulting applications for summer 2027, as stated in both the Omaha and the Washington, D.C. postings.
Talent assessments and team conversations for summer 2027. Gallup says its selection process takes about one to three weeks once you're in it. Technology and fintech postings come down as they fill.
The internship runs 12 weeks at 40 hours a week, on-site Monday to Thursday. The technology and fintech postings mention possible part-time work during the school year, and every posting mentions a possible full-time offer.
Applications for summer 2028 are expected to open, with the consulting deadline expected around the end of October 2027. This is projected from the single cycle we measured.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Gallup runs two clocks. Consulting is a hard deadline. Both Workplace Advisory Consulting postings open with the same sentence: "Gallup is accepting applications through Oct. 30, 2026, for summer 2027 internships." After that date the door is shut until the next cycle. Technology and fintech are first come, first served. All six postings open with "Apply early for priority consideration" and add that Gallup "has limited openings for this internship, and the position will be filled quickly." The evidence backs it up: a ninth posting, a Software Engineer Intern role in San Francisco, was already off the board by October 11, 2026, about a month after the wave went up. If a technology role fits you, apply the week you see it.
Which Gallup Internship Programs Should You Target?
Gallup's summer 2027 wave is two consulting postings and six technology or finance postings. All are undergraduate-level roles, and several technology postings also take associate or graduate students.
| Program | Focus | Office and published pay | Status for summer 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workplace Advisory Consulting Intern | Client consulting work, survey data analysis, and an employee engagement project you design and present | Washington, D.C.: $25/hour. Omaha: $20/hour | Open through Oct 30, 2026 |
| Data Engineering Intern | Python and SQL pipelines, data quality, AI-enabled development tools | Omaha: $25 to $30/hour | Open; no date |
| DevOps Engineer Intern | Cloud migration, CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, Docker, Amazon ECS, Terraform | Omaha: $25 to $30/hour | Open; no date |
| Site Reliability Engineer Intern | Observability with Dynatrace and PagerDuty on AWS, alerting, incident response | San Francisco: $45 to $50/hour | Open; no date |
| Product Design Intern | Scoped design projects for Gallup's digital products; portfolio required | Omaha: $25 to $30/hour | Open; no date |
| Fintech Intern | SQL analysis, reporting and business process work in Gallup's Oracle finance systems | Omaha: $20/hour | Open; no date |
| IT Help Desk / Technology Support Specialist Intern | Workstation, network and user support in Windows and Mac environments | Omaha: $18 to $22/hour | Open; no date |
Gallup's internships page also quotes past data science, research and software developer interns, so the set of tracks changes by year. Every opening is on the Gallup job board.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The eight summer 2027 postings set these rules:
• School location: every posting has a radius rule. The six Omaha postings and the Washington, D.C. consulting posting require enrollment at a college or university within 250 miles of the office. The San Francisco posting says within 80 miles.
• Class year, consulting: undergraduates with "anticipated graduation by spring 2028."
• Class year, technology and fintech: graduation between August 2027 and May 2028 is preferred. DevOps, site reliability, fintech and IT help desk add that they'll consider 2029 graduates; product design requires the 2027 to 2028 window.
• Experience, consulting: required experience in "project management, business development, fundraising, recruitment, sales or entrepreneurial efforts," plus leadership experience.
• GPA: none of the eight postings states one.
• Work authorization: you must be eligible to work in the United States, and no posting is eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
• Availability: 40 hours a week for 12 weeks in summer 2027, on-site Monday through Thursday.

Is the 250-Mile School Rule a Hard Cutoff at Gallup?
Read it as one. The postings mark the radius "required," the same word they use for work eligibility, while graduation timing on most technology roles is only "preferred." The rule is written about where you're enrolled, not where your family lives. Gallup publishes no exceptions, and none of the eight postings mentions housing or relocation help, which fits a program built for nearby students. With no GPA floor anywhere, the radius, the graduation window and work authorization are the screens that count.

What Skills Does Gallup Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Gallup's eight postings split into two skill sets. The consulting postings ask for people skills with evidence behind them: experience in project management, business development, fundraising, recruitment, sales or a venture, plus leadership. The work centers on "survey data analysis and delivery of key recommendations to organizational leaders." The technology postings name tools. Python, a cloud platform such as AWS, and Git or GitHub each appear in three, Windows or Linux administration in three, and SQL in two (data engineering and fintech). AI shows up in four of the eight: data engineering requires "comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Claude Code or GitHub Copilot," and consulting interns "combine human and artificial intelligence" on client data.

The people analytics match is the closest: the consulting intern's own deliverable is an employee engagement project presented at the end of the summer.
What Is the Gallup Application and Interview Process Like?
Gallup publishes a general three-step hiring process; the internship postings don't add steps of their own:
1. Introduce yourself. Apply on the job board with your background, education and work history. Check the school-radius rule before you start.
2. Share your talents. Gallup says you'll be invited to "a talent assessment (or two)." Its FAQ says the assessment "isn't a pass/fail test" and that there's no one right way to answer.
3. Meet the team. You talk with your manager and "some key partners" about joining the team.
4. Timing. Gallup says to expect the process "to take approximately one to three weeks," and notes that steps differ by job.
5. Not CliftonStrengths. Gallup says it doesn't use CliftonStrengths results in hiring. The talent assessment is a separate tool built to measure fit for the role.
One name clash to avoid: a "Gallup interview" at another employer that licenses Gallup's selection tools isn't an interview for a Gallup job. Our behavioral interview guide helps with the team conversations.
What the Community Says
We found no first-hand Reddit account of a Gallup internship, and most "Gallup assessment" threads are about other employers that use Gallup's tools. Below are one general-hiring thread and Gallup's own intern testimonial, each labelled by source.
Applicants for regular jobs said Gallup's assessment comes right at application and seemed to decide who moved forward. One said a recruiter cancelled a phone screen 15 minutes beforehand because of the result. Several former employees in the same thread described poor experiences in roles from years earlier.
A past Workplace Advisory intern in Omaha said interns worked on real projects, met executives regularly and felt like part of the team from the first day. Gallup picked this quote for its own page, so read it as the employer's selection.
How Do You Stand Out for a Gallup Internship?
Three moves. First, confirm the radius. If your college isn't within 250 miles of Omaha or Washington, D.C. (80 miles for San Francisco), the posting screens you out before anyone reads your resume. Second, show evidence of leading and persuading. The consulting postings require experience in project management, business development, fundraising, recruitment, sales or a venture, so put numbers on a campaign you ran, money you raised or people you recruited. Technology applicants should show SQL and Python work and be ready to explain how they use AI coding tools. Third, take the talent assessment seriously. Gallup tells candidates not to overthink their responses and says there's no one right answer, while applicants on Reddit say the result carries real weight. Do it rested, in one quiet sitting. Gallup publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate. The postings say only that a full-time offer is possible based on performance and business needs.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Gallup internship?
No. Summer 2026 has passed. The open cycle is summer 2027: Gallup published eight intern postings on September 8, 2026, and all eight were still live on October 12, 2026. The consulting internship accepts applications through October 30, 2026, and the technology and fintech roles close whenever they fill.
When do Gallup internship applications open for summer 2027?
They opened on September 8, 2026, when Gallup published all eight postings. The Workplace Advisory Consulting internship in Omaha and Washington, D.C. closes October 30, 2026. Technology and fintech postings have no deadline. For summer 2028, expect postings in early September 2027, a projection from this single measured cycle.
Does Gallup hire interns on a rolling basis?
It depends on the track. Consulting has a hard deadline of October 30, 2026. The six technology and fintech postings say to apply early for priority consideration and that the position will be filled quickly. A San Francisco software engineering intern posting from the same wave was already gone by October 11, 2026.
How much do Gallup interns get paid?
Every posting prints its rate. Consulting pays $25 an hour in Washington, D.C. and $20 in Omaha. Site reliability engineering in San Francisco pays $45 to $50. Data engineering, DevOps and product design in Omaha pay $25 to $30, fintech pays $20 and IT help desk $18 to $22. No posting mentions housing.
Who can apply for the Gallup consulting internship?
Undergraduates who expect to graduate by spring 2028 and attend a college within 250 miles of Omaha or Washington, D.C., depending on the office. The postings also require leadership experience plus experience in project management, business development, fundraising, recruitment, sales or a venture, and 12 weeks of full-time availability in summer 2027.
Does Gallup sponsor visas for interns?
No. All eight summer 2027 postings require eligibility to work in the United States and state that the position isn't eligible for employment visa sponsorship. International students should also check the school-radius rule, which requires enrollment at a college near the office, before spending time on an application.
What is the Gallup talent assessment?
It's an online assessment Gallup sends after you apply, sometimes two. Gallup says it isn't a pass/fail test, that there's no one right way to answer, and that it's separate from CliftonStrengths, which isn't used in hiring. Applicants on Reddit say the result strongly affects who moves forward.
Do Gallup interns get full-time offers?
Gallup doesn't publish a conversion rate. The consulting postings say you may receive a full-time offer based on your performance and Gallup's business needs, and the technology postings mention the potential for an offer upon graduation. On October 12, 2026, the board also listed several Associate Consultant openings in Workplace Advisory.
Gallup's consulting deadline is October 30, 2026, and its technology roles close when they fill. Apply on time, and bring proof of the work: a remote Externship gives you a finished people analytics, strategy or data project to talk through with the team.
