The Florida Panthers' summer internship closes before the winter holidays, and most students look for it too late. The 2026 Summer Internship Program was a full-time, paid role at $15 an hour with no housing, posted on TeamWork Online in mid-to-late November 2025 and closed on 22 December 2025. On 17 October 2026 the Panthers' board listed 35 postings and none was an internship, so the summer 2027 program hasn't opened. Here's the cycle in plain words: you apply in late 2026 for summer 2027, and the posting is expected from about mid-November to late December 2026 (projected from one documented cycle). The seasonal NHL-season interns (communications, game presentation) are a second track, expected around July 2027 for the 2027-28 season.

What Is a Florida Panthers Internship?

A Florida Panthers internship is a paid role with the NHL club's front office in Sunrise, Florida. The Panthers hire through TeamWork Online and run two tracks: a full-time Summer Internship Program across departments (the 2026 edition listed Content Production, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales & Service, Human Resources and Community Relations/Foundation) and seasonal internships tied to the NHL season. The owner is Vincent J. Viola, and the postings name the Florida Panthers Hockey Club and its arena and community entities as the employer. The Panthers are back-to-back Stanley Cup champions (2024 and 2025, per their own posting). This is the NHL's Florida Panthers, not the NFL's Carolina Panthers.

When Do Florida Panthers Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

The Panthers run two clocks. The Summer Internship Program posts once, in late fall: the 2026 edition was posted about two weeks before our earliest readable archive copy of 5 December 2025 (so mid-to-late November), and its posting said it would close on 22 December 2025, a window of about a month, roughly 6 to 7 months before summer (the posting gives no start date). The seasonal NHL-season internships post in summer for the coming season: Seasonal Communications went up on about 15 July 2025 and Game Presentation on about 4 August 2025, 2 to 3 months before October puck drop. We have one documented summer cycle, so applications for summer 2027 are expected from about mid-November to late December 2026.

Applications for the summer 2027 program are expected to post and close in this window. The 2026 edition closed on 22 December 2025. Apply as soon as it posts, before the winter break.

Selection happens after the cutoff. The Panthers don't publish an interview process. A student who starts looking in January has already missed the window.

Summer 2027 and the 2027-28 season

The summer program runs full-time in Sunrise. Seasonal NHL-season internships for 2027-28 (communications, game presentation) are expected to post around July 2027.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

The summer program is a hard-deadline window. The Panthers' own 2026 posting said it "will close on December 22, 2025", and the posting had been up for roughly a month by then. Nothing in it suggests late entries, and a December close lands in the middle of finals and winter travel. Applying the week it posts, not the week it closes, leaves room for a mistake in the follow-up screen that TeamWork requires you to complete. Seasonal NHL-season internships are individual postings with no stated deadline, so apply to those early as well.

Do You Need Hockey Experience?

For Communications, yes: the posting says hockey knowledge is necessary. For Game Presentation, the experience that counts is live-sports entertainment, mascoting or stage management. The summer program asks only for a degree in progress, communication and customer service skills, and Microsoft Office. If you're a freshman or sophomore, the summer posting's wording doesn't rule you out.

What Skills Do the Florida Panthers Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Communication: all three ask for strong written, verbal or interpersonal skills. Tools: Microsoft Office or Excel appears in all three, with Adobe and social media platforms on the creative roles.

What Is the Florida Panthers Application and Interview Process Like?

The Panthers don't publish interview stages. This is what the postings show:

1. Create a TeamWork Online profile and turn on alerts for the Florida Panthers board.

2. Join the talent network. The standing "Join the Panthers - Future Opportunities" posting is open to all experience levels.

3. Apply when the posting appears. Click Apply Now, then fully complete the application on the follow-up screen the posting redirects you to.

4. Assessment. The standing posting says applicants receive a Criteria assessment; it doesn't say whether intern postings use it.

5. Interview and offer. Not published.

The Panthers don't publish a class size or conversion rate, so ask about both when you're contacted.

What Students on Reddit Say

We couldn't read any first-hand Panthers intern account on Reddit for this guide: the one relevant thread, from 2016, wouldn't load, and the other results were automated job-feed reposts. So there are no community cards here, and we haven't invented any.

How Do You Stand Out for a Panthers Internship?

Three moves. First, know the window. The summer program has posted in November and closed in December, so be ready before Thanksgiving. Second, match the track: for Communications, show hockey knowledge and willingness to work most home games including the postseason; for Game Presentation, show mascot, stage-management or social content experience. Third, budget for the job. The 2026 summer program paid $15 an hour with no housing in South Florida, so line up a place to stay before you accept. The Panthers don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate, so treat the internship as the goal and ask about full-time paths once you're in.
