Experian's summer 2027 internships aren't posted yet. On October 3, 2026 its US job board had zero internship postings, even though Experian's own early careers timeline says jobs post in September. Last cycle the first dated US posting was circulating by October 22, 2025, so expect roles in October. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027.
Once roles post, the clock is short. Experian interviews and makes offers through October and November and "aim[s] to fill all positions" in December. Last cycle it posted 31 US summer intern roles, 23 of them fully remote, and 30 listed $20.00 to $35.00 an hour. Set a job alert now and have your resume ready.
What Is an Experian Internship?
An Experian internship is a paid, 12-week summer program in North America, starting in May or June, where interns work on team projects and join professional development sessions, Executive Chats, All Hands meetings, networking and volunteer events. Experian says most of its positions are 100% remote. Experian is the credit bureau and data company behind consumer credit reports and fraud and lending tools; it reported US$8,445 million in revenue for the year to March 2026, with North America its largest region, and its postings describe 25,500 people in 32 countries and a corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Its intern postings also say the program has been named one of the Top 100 Internship Programs three years in a row. This guide covers US programs only; Experian also hires interns in Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Malaysia and other countries.

When Do Experian Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Experian publishes its own calendar on the North America early careers page: jobs post in September; outreach, applications and interviews run through October and November, with offers throughout; and in December Experian aims to fill all positions. For summer 2027 the September step has slipped: nothing was posted on October 3, 2026. Last cycle's first block of US postings (25 consecutive job IDs) was live around October 22, 2025, when one of them was reposted on Reddit, and interview invites followed in November. A few tracks posted later; applicants for the AI software engineering intern were doing video interviews in March 2026.
Summer 2027 applications aren't open yet: Experian's US board had no internship postings on October 3, 2026. Set a job alert, join the talent community and get your resume ready, because the online assessment arrives the minute you apply.
Summer 2027 US intern roles are expected to post, about a month later than Experian's stated September plan, in line with last year's October 22 evidence. Apply in the first week; Experian starts sending assessments right away.
Online assessments, one-way video interviews, technical assessments for some roles and final interviews, with offers going out throughout these two months, according to Experian's timeline.
Experian aims to fill all positions in December. A few tracks may post late, as the AI software engineering intern did last cycle, with video interviews in March 2026.
The 12-week program starts in May or June 2027, mostly remote. Graduating interns can look at the Tech Xcelerator rotation for new graduates; Experian publishes no return-offer rate.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Experian runs a short season by its own account: post in September, interview and offer through October and November, fill every position in December. That leaves roughly ten weeks from first posting to a full class, and fewer this year if roles post in October. Last cycle's applicants describe the online assessment arriving minutes after they applied, so the screening starts as soon as you click submit. When the roles appear, apply in the first week to every track you fit, and treat December as the practical end even though one or two tracks may post later.
Which Experian Internship Programs Should You Target?
Experian hasn't posted its summer 2027 tracks yet. These are the 31 US summer roles it posted last cycle; treat them as a guide to what to expect, not a promise.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Experian's page says its programs are for students "at the BS, MS, and Ph.D. levels." Last cycle's postings added:
• Enrollment: currently enrolled in at least a bachelor's program, and returning to school after the summer to finish (27 of 31 postings asked interns to return to school in fall 2026; expect fall 2027 wording this cycle).
• Majors: set by track, such as CS or computer engineering for AI SWE, and data science, engineering, CS, information management or statistics for Data Analyst.
• PhD track: the Data Science intern required current PhD enrollment in machine learning, CS, statistics, physics or another quantitative field.
• GPA: not stated on the postings we read.
• Work authorization: not stated on the postings we read; ask the recruiter.

Can Graduating Seniors Apply for an Experian Internship?
Usually not. Last cycle's postings asked interns to return to school after the summer, so a student graduating before summer 2027 doesn't fit. Experian points graduates to its Tech Xcelerator Program instead, a 12-month rotation in software engineering, product management or data analytics that starts in April or June, and to its MBA Leadership Development Program for MBA students.

Has any of that experience been finance-related?
Banking, PE or VC, corporate finance, wealth management, equity research, accounting or consulting. Any size of firm counts.

What Skills Does Experian Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Experian's summer postings lean on data. In last cycle's 31 US postings, 18 mention data analysis or insights, 13 name Python and 11 mention AI, machine learning or LLMs. Three buckets cover them. Analytics: SQL, Alteryx and Tableau or Power BI in the analyst roles. Software and AI: Python tools, LLM frameworks and RAG pipelines in the AI SWE and ML roles. Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each Experian skill maps to a remote Externship you can finish before or during its interview season.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| SQL and data modeling | Data Analyst: SQL with SQL Server, Vertica, MySQL or Aurora; Data Engineer panel asked Python and SQL | Breaking Games SQL Database Architecture |
| Analytics and insights | Analytics and Data Analyst roles: analyze large datasets, build visuals and metrics | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| AI and LLM tools | AI SWE: Python, LLM frameworks, RAG pipelines, agent frameworks | Wayfair n8n AI Agent Engineering |
| Product thinking | Product Management Summer Intern (two postings last cycle) | BeReal Product Management |
| Fraud and risk mindset | Fraud Analytics and Risk Analyst summer interns | Hydroficient IoT Cyber Defense |
The AI match is the tightest: last cycle's AI SWE intern built chatbots, agents and demos in Python, which is the same kind of build the Wayfair project asks for.
What Is the Experian Application and Interview Process Like?
Experian publishes a four-stage process on its North America early careers page:
1. Online assessment. A situational judgment test, behavioral questionnaire and learnability assessment. Applicants say it arrives right after applying and takes about 40 minutes, with no coding.
2. One-way video interview. A short recorded interview if your assessment results align; applicants report questions like why Experian, a team project and something innovative you built.
3. Technical assessment (some roles). Data and engineering tracks may add one.
4. Final interview. With the hiring team. A data engineering candidate described one panel round with the hiring manager and two team members asking Python, SQL and resume questions.
5. Offer. Offers go out through October and November; waits of a month or more after the video stage were common last cycle.
The recorded video is the step most students underprepare for; our HireVue question guide with a free AI mock tool lets you practice the format.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit threads from last cycle's applicants give the clearest picture of Experian's screening steps.
Applicants to Experian's early-career program said the online assessment arrived right after they applied, mixed situational judgment and learnability questions with no coding, and was followed by a recorded video interview with basic behavioral questions. Several were still waiting weeks later.
A data engineering intern candidate described one virtual panel with the hiring manager and two team members, who each asked four or five questions on Python, SQL and the tools on their resume. The panel came about nine days after the assessment and video.
Applicants to the AI software engineering summer intern finished the assessment and recorded video in late March 2026, then saw no status update for over a month. It shows that some tracks post and interview late in the cycle.
How Do You Stand Out for an Experian Internship?
Three moves you can make before the roles post. First, be ready on day one. The assessment starts the moment you apply, and Experian aims to be full by December, so have your resume and a quiet 40-minute block ready the week roles appear. Second, practice the recorded video. It's short and behavioral: why Experian, a team project and something innovative you built. Rehearse each on camera until it's under two minutes. Third, know which Experian business your team serves. Postings name fraud prevention, verification, lending and healthcare data. A line connecting your project to one of them beats generic interest in data. Experian publishes no applicant count or conversion rate, so preparation is the lever you control.

I'm graduating. What can I apply to at Experian?

Experian's summer 2027 roles should post in October and fill by December. Get your alert set today, and use the next few weeks to build proof: a remote Externship gives you a finished data project to talk about in Experian's video and panel interviews.
