CRH Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

CRH internships are open now, but there is no single CRH program. Each of its US operating companies posts its own. On 26 October 2026, the CRH careers site listed 68 intern-titled US requisitions across 26 states, plus one co-op, and every one we opened was live. Five name spring 2027, nine name summer 2027, and many name no term. The 18 that print pay show $19 to $25 an hour. None shows a closing date. In plain words, you apply this fall to intern in spring or summer 2027, and you apply to the company nearest you. This guide covers CRH's US business (CRH Americas), not its European graduate programs.

What Is a CRH Internship?

A CRH internship is a paid, hands-on placement at one of CRH Americas' regional operating companies, in construction, aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete and manufacturing. CRH, the building materials group that reported $37.4 billion of revenue for 2025 in its full-year results, describes itself in its postings as "a collection of hundreds of family businesses, regional companies and large enterprises" with a decentralized structure. That's why there is no one application: Pike Industries, The Shelly Company, APAC, Mulzer and others each post their own reqs on one shared site. Oldcastle is a CRH business and has one intern posting there.

When Do CRH Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

CRH has no company-wide calendar. Each operating company posts its own reqs, and the board shows no posting dates, so we can't measure a lead time across CRH. What the board does show: spring 2027 reqs are live now, summer 2027 reqs are live now, and the Newburgh, Indiana logistics req (Materials Transport) is up roughly seven months before its stated May/early June 2027 start. Some text is left over from earlier cycles: the Muskogee req still mentions "Summer 2026" and the Candler, North Carolina EHS req still says "through August 2025". So CRH reuses its postings from year to year.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

No posting prints a closing date, so we can't say whether CRH reviews on a rolling basis. What we can say is that more than 25 operating companies each post and fill their own roles, so each seat is a small decision made by a local manager, and a posting can come down once that seat is filled. Check that your state and term match, then apply while the posting is up rather than waiting for a deadline that may never be announced.

Which CRH Internship Programs Should You Target?

CRH has no named intern program. These are the clusters of postings on the board on 26 October 2026, grouped by operating company.

Smaller employers post one to three roles each: P.J. Keating (Massachusetts, $20 an hour), Tilcon in Connecticut ($22) and New Jersey ($20-$23), Staker Parson (Utah), Barriere Construction (Louisiana), Holliday Sand & Gravel (Kansas), Lyman-Richey (Nebraska), Pennsy Supply (Pennsylvania), and Conrad Yelvington Distributors (Florida, a locomotive mechanic internship). What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Each operating company writes its own requirements. These are the patterns across the postings we opened.

• Enrollment: currently enrolled in a college, university or trade school. Pike: "Must be currently enrolled in a college degree program." Mulzer and Materials Transport ask for a four-year degree program with one or more years completed.

• Field of study: construction management, civil, mining or mechanical engineering, environmental health and safety, accounting and finance, logistics or IT, depending on the role. APAC Alabama accepts "any engineering related program".

• Age: 18 or older where stated (APAC Central, Texas Materials).

• Screening: many postings require a valid driver's license. APAC Central requires a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check.

• Work authorization: only Tilcon Connecticut's posting says "legally authorized to work". None of the 68 mentions sponsorship, so ask the recruiter before you apply.

Is There a GPA Cutoff?

Only on some postings. Five of the 68 mention a GPA: a 3.0 minimum on the Omaha (Lyman-Richey) and Dunbar, West Virginia Environmental postings, 2.75 on the Shelly Columbus Mine Engineer posting, and a desired 3.0 at Pennsy Supply. Most postings, like APAC Central's, ask only for "good academic standing". Treat a stated number as firm.

What Skills Does CRH Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

CRH's postings ask for practical readiness more than a technical resume. Across the 68 intern postings, the most common asks are nights and weekends, quality control or materials testing, estimating and project management, and Microsoft Office. Physical field work, a driver's license and a drug screen show up often enough to plan for. Pike's postings describe hands-on time across aggregate and mining, hot mix asphalt and quality control, with travel to sites in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

None of these Externships is affiliated with CRH, and none is a construction Externship. Most run about 8 weeks, so one started in November can finish before a summer start.

What Is the CRH Application and Interview Process Like?

CRH doesn't publish an interview process for interns, so these steps follow its postings.

1. Find your company. Search jobs.crh.com for "intern" and filter by your state. Pike covers New England, Shelly Ohio, Mulzer Indiana and Kentucky, and APAC the South.

2. Read the term. Spring 2027, summer 2027 and unstated terms are mixed, and some postings still carry last year's dates.

3. Apply through the official site. The postings say, "Once you click apply now, you will be brought to our official employment application"; APAC Alabama adds that your profile "will be sent to the hiring manager".

4. Expect screening. Many postings list a driver's license check, and some a drug screen, background check and physical.

5. Interviews. CRH doesn't publish rounds or timing. Ask the recruiter.

What Students on Reddit Say

We found no first-hand Reddit threads from CRH interns. Searches for "CRH" mostly return Coin Roll Hunting and Veterans Affairs threads, and the one civil engineering thread we read had no comment about CRH, so we haven't quoted anyone.

How Do You Stand Out for a CRH Internship?

First, apply to the company nearest you and name it in your application, since each operating company posts separately. Second, show you can do field work: a valid driver's license, willingness to work nights and weekends, and comfort outdoors in all weather are asked for again and again. Third, bring something concrete from your coursework, such as a surveying, materials testing or estimating project. CRH publishes no applicant counts or conversion rate, so there is no number to quote.

No. Summer 2026 is over. The postings live on 26 October 2026 are for spring 2027, summer 2027 or an unstated term. A few still carry summer 2026 wording left over from last year, so check the term in the posting before you apply.

Where are CRH internships located?

In 26 states, mostly on site at plants, quarries, mines and project sites. Ohio has the most postings (12), then Vermont (6), Indiana (5) and Michigan (5). New England is Pike Industries' territory. One corporate role, a Commercialization Intern, is in Atlanta, Georgia.

Are CRH spring internships available?

Yes, a few. Five postings name spring 2027: Atlanta, Belton, Cedar Park and Hutto in Texas, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. The Oldcastle Infrastructure posting in Napoleon, Ohio starts in January 2027 and runs through the spring term for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Is Oldcastle the same as CRH?

Oldcastle is a CRH business, not a separate employer for this purpose. CRH's postings describe Oldcastle as a CRH company, and its one intern posting, a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Napoleon, Ohio at $25 an hour, sits on the same jobs.crh.com site as every other CRH intern posting.

Are CRH trainee roles internships?

No. The ten trainee postings, such as Aggregate Management Trainee and Construction Superintendent Trainee, are full-time training jobs for graduates, with printed pay of $65,000 to $80,000 on some. They are a post-graduation route, not an internship, so we haven't counted them in the 68.

CRH's spring and summer 2027 postings are open now across 26 states, so find your operating company and apply while the posting is up. If you want a finished project to discuss in an interview, a remote Externship can run alongside your application.
