Amica's summer 2027 internships aren't posted yet, but the first ones are due any day. On October 5, 2026, Amica's Workday job board listed 17 jobs and no internships. Last year the first summer 2026 internships, in actuarial and risk management, went up on September 29, 2025, and Amica has since moved its job board to Workday. In plain words: you apply during 2026 (or early 2027 for some departments), you intern in summer 2027.

Amica, the mutual auto and home insurer founded in 1907, runs a paid summer internship program at its Lincoln, Rhode Island headquarters. Postings come in two waves: actuarial, risk, accounting and financial systems in the fall, then claims, Amica Life, investments and service-center roles from January to March. Some past postings came down within days, so set a job alert now.

What Is an Amica Internship?

An Amica internship is a paid summer program at Amica Mutual Insurance Company's headquarters in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Interns join one department, such as actuarial, accounting, risk management, claims or Amica Life, and work 37.5 hours a week on projects alongside full-time staff, plus team-building and companywide events. Amica was founded in Providence in 1907 and its company facts page calls it the oldest mutual insurer of automobiles in the United States, with over 3,500 employees and an A+ rating from AM Best. It sells auto, home, life and umbrella coverage directly, without independent agents. Don't confuse it with the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, an unrelated legal nonprofit with its own internships.

When Do Amica Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Amica runs one summer intake but posts it department by department over about five months. For summer 2026, the actuarial and risk management postings went up September 29, 2025, and accounting and finance plus financial systems on October 17. For summer 2025, the claims, Amica Life, service-center and investments postings went up from January 17 to February 3, 2025, and claims innovation on March 20. So applications for summer 2027 are expected around October 2026 and again around January to March 2027. Hedge those dates: the accounting posting moved about three months between the two cycles, and Amica switched job boards in 2026.

Applications for summer 2027 aren't open yet: Amica's Workday board shows no internships. Last year's first postings were already up by now, so set a job alert through the Talent Community today.

About October 2026EXPECTEDSHORT WINDOW — APPLY WEEK 1

Wave 1 for summer 2027 is expected: actuarial, risk management, accounting and finance, and financial systems and BI. Last year's accounting posting was marked inactive the day after it went up, so apply the day you see yours.

November to December 2026

Prepare for wave 2: put your GPA on your resume, sit an actuarial exam if you can, and practice SQL or Excel. Amica also hires a few part-time Amica Life actuarial interns during the school year.

About January to March 2027EXPECTED

Wave 2 for summer 2027 is expected: claims, claims innovation, Amica Life actuarial, service center operations, a graduate investments internship and analytics roles. Offers have gone out by early March.

Summer 2027

Interns work 37.5 hours a week at the Lincoln, RI headquarters, with one remote day possible once trained. Interns who do well could be considered for full-time roles.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Amica doesn't state application deadlines, and none of its internship postings says "rolling." Its own job pages tell a different story. A Life Finance actuarial internship posted January 17, 2025 was marked "no longer active" by January 22. An accounting and finance internship posted January 27, 2025 was inactive by February 6, and a claims innovation posting from March 20 was gone by March 25. In October 2025 two postings were marked inactive the day after they went up, which may have been reposts. Either way, Amica's windows can be days, not months. A job alert and a same-week application are the only safe plan.

Which Amica Internship Programs Should You Target?

Amica's internships page lists 10 participating departments. These are the tracks it posted in the last two cycles.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Requirements vary by track. These come from Amica's own past internship postings:

• Class year: the senior-student tracks (accounting and finance, financial systems, risk) want students who have finished sophomore or junior year and return to school in the fall. Claims takes students past freshman year.

• Major: actuarial wants actuarial science, math, statistics or economics; accounting wants accounting or finance; financial systems takes data analytics, math, computer science, finance or accounting.

• GPA: 3.2 or higher on the senior-student tracks, and your resume must show your GPA "to be considered." Claims innovation prefers 3.0; actuarial and claims name no GPA.

• Exams: at least one CAS or SOA exam is preferred for P&C actuarial; Amica Life says exams are preferred but not required.

• Work authorization: past internship postings didn't state a sponsorship policy, and a current full-time posting says Amica doesn't currently offer visa sponsorship, so ask the recruiter before applying.

Is the 3.2 GPA a Hard Cutoff at Amica?

On three tracks, treat it as one. The accounting and finance, financial systems and risk postings say candidates "should" have a 3.2 or higher and that a resume without GPA won't be considered, which reads as a screen. The other tracks are softer: claims innovation prefers 3.0, and the actuarial and claims postings set no GPA at all.

What Is the Amica Application and Interview Process Like?

Amica's careers FAQ describes the same steps for every applicant:

1. Apply online. Amica says all candidates must apply through its job board; each department posts its own requisition.

2. Phone screen. A member of the talent acquisition team calls to schedule an initial screen.

3. On-demand interview. Some roles use a recorded video interview, which Amica says a person on the hiring team reviews, with no AI involved.

4. Team interviews. Interviews with the hiring manager and team members.

5. Offer and background check. Amica runs background checks for everyone who accepts an internship offer. It says applicants generally hear back within 5 to 10 business days.

Prepare two or three short stories for the recorded interview; our behavioral interview guide shows how to structure them.

What Amica Employees and Interns Say

No Reddit thread discusses an Amica internship, so these cards draw on a Reddit thread about Amica's full-time hiring, a first-hand Indeed intern review and Amica's own intern stories, each labeled.

A claims candidate described Amica's process as an assessment, then a recorded video interview, then an in-person interview. A former employee called it a great company with high expectations and fair pay; one reply disagreed, citing heavy workloads.

How Do You Stand Out for an Amica Internship?

Three moves. First, be early on two windows. Set the Workday alert now for the fall wave, then check again in January for claims, Amica Life and investments, since past postings came down within days. Second, clear the stated screens. Put your GPA on your resume (three tracks won't consider you without it) and, for actuarial, list any CAS or SOA exam and the code you've written. Third, plan for Lincoln. Every internship sits at the Rhode Island headquarters with at most one or two remote days, so say you can be there for the summer. Amica publishes no applicant count or conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Amica internship?

No. Amica's summer 2026 internships posted between late September 2025 and early 2026 and are no longer listed. On October 5, 2026, its Workday board showed no internships at all. The next door is summer 2027, with postings expected around October 2026 and again from about January to March 2027.

When do Amica summer 2027 internship applications open?

Expected in two waves: actuarial, risk management, accounting and financial systems around October 2026, and claims, Amica Life, investments and service-center roles around January to March 2027. These are projections from the last two cycles, and some dates moved by up to three months, so set a Workday job alert.

Are Amica internship applications rolling?

Not in practice. Amica's postings state no deadline, but several past internship postings were marked no longer active within one to ten days of going up. Treat each posting as a short window: apply the same week it appears rather than waiting for a deadline that Amica doesn't publish.

What GPA does Amica require for internships?

The accounting and finance, financial systems and BI, and risk management postings ask for a 3.2 GPA or higher and say your resume must list your GPA to be considered. Claims innovation prefers a 3.0. The actuarial and claims postings didn't set a GPA requirement.

Where are Amica internships located?

At Amica's headquarters in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Interns work 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with one remote day a week possible once trained and up to two on some Amica Life roles. Amica's regional offices hire students as part-time customer care reps, which are jobs rather than internships.

What is Amica's interview process for interns?

You apply online, then a talent acquisition team member schedules a phone screen. Some roles add an on-demand recorded interview, which Amica says a person reviews. Then come interviews with the hiring manager and team. Amica says applicants usually hear back within 5 to 10 business days.

Does Amica hire interns full time?

It can. Amica's postings say interns who complete the program "could be considered for full time employment," and former interns on its careers page describe joining full time. It doesn't publish a conversion rate. Graduating seniors can also apply to its Future Leaders Program, whose June 2027 classes start at $60,000.

How much do Amica interns get paid?

Amica says its internships are paid but doesn't publish an intern hourly rate. For comparison, its part-time Student Customer Care Representative job, which isn't an internship, pays $17.50 an hour. Rhode Island law lets you ask the employer for the wage range of the role you're applying to.

Amica's summer 2027 postings should start appearing this month. Set your alert, and use the wait well: a remote Externship gives you a finished SQL or finance project to show when Amica's window opens.
