On October 5, 2026 its careers board listed 18 intern postings, from IT and cybersecurity to data science, audit, marketing and UX, all posted between August 31 and September 23. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you start in summer 2027, and at Ameritas you usually keep working part-time through the 2027–28 school year.
Sixteen of the 18 run 12 months or longer: full-time (30 to 40 hours a week) in summer and part-time (10 to 25 hours) during classes, mostly hybrid in Lincoln, Nebraska. Every posting lists the same pay range, $13.33 to $26.67 an hour. Postings stay open "a minimum of 3 business days or until filled," and the summer 2027 actuarial internship was already taken down on September 30, 2026.
What Is an Ameritas Internship?
An Ameritas internship is a paid, mostly year-round role at Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., a mutual-based insurer founded in 1887 and headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska. Interns join working teams in IT, cybersecurity, data, audit, investments, marketing and talent development rather than a separate intern track. Ameritas sells individual life and disability insurance, dental and vision benefits, retirement plans and wealth management. Its careers page lists 2,500 employees and 6.3 million customers and describes "a large and popular internship program." Its about page shows an A+ rating from S&P and an A from AM Best.
When Do Ameritas Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Ameritas posted its 2027 internships between August 31 and September 23, 2026, about eight months before the main May 2027 start. Last cycle looks the same: the May 2026 roles first appear in archived copies of the board in late August 2025. There's no single deadline. Each posting stays up at least three business days and comes down when it's filled, which is how the summer 2027 actuarial internship disappeared on September 30. A few roles start earlier, in January, spring or April 2027. Applications for summer 2028, including actuarial, are expected in late August to September 2027.
Applications for 2027 starts are open right now: 18 postings across IT, cybersecurity, data and AI, audit, finance, marketing, talent, sales and UX. The summer 2027 actuarial internship has already closed.
Postings come down one by one as roles are filled. None states a closing date, so the earlier you apply, the more roles are still open.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Ameritas states its requirements role by role. The common lines across the 18 postings:
• Enrollment: enrolled in a college program for the whole internship, at least half-time on most postings. IT Endpoint, IT Support Center and Commercial Mortgage Finance accept associate and bachelor's students; UX requires a Master's program.
• Class year: mostly unstated; Sales Development prefers sophomores or juniors.
• GPA: none of the 18 postings names a minimum GPA.
• Work authorization: 17 of 18 say the role "is not open to individuals who are temporarily authorized to work in the U.S." Some job boards tag Ameritas as open to student visas; the employer's posting governs.

1. Search the Intern filter. Every role is a separate posting on the ADP board, so apply to each role you want.
2. Check the fit lines before you apply. Each posting states the school-year commitment, the office schedule (Lincoln, Cincinnati or remote) and the work authorization line.
3. Apply on ADP. Upload your resume; the Videography posting also welcomes a portfolio in any format.
4. Interviews. Ameritas doesn't describe its rounds, and we found no first-hand intern account. Prepare short stories about a project you finished, how you'd balance part-time work with classes, and, for tech roles, how you troubleshoot.

Reddit has no threads about Ameritas internships (searches return its dental and disability products), so these cards come from intern reviews on Indeed. They date from 2018 and 2019, before the year-round format, so read them as culture notes.
An accounting intern in Lincoln said the internship gave plenty of chances to meet people across the company, and that they would have stayed on if they were staying in Lincoln.
