Last updated: October 2026
World Wide Technology's summer 2027 internship applications are open right now and close on October 31, 2026, per WWT's internship program page. That's 28 days from this update, and the window has shut at the end of October three years running. You apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027: the program begins in May 2027 and runs 10 weeks, mostly at WWT's Maryland Heights, Missouri headquarters and Edwardsville, Illinois warehouses. WWT is a private IT solutions provider founded in 1990, listed by Forbes at $20 billion in revenue and No. 18 on America's Top Private Companies (2025). Every summer 2027 intern requisition we checked on WWT's ADP board publishes the same pay range: $18 to $25 an hour.
What Is a World Wide Technology Internship?
A World Wide Technology internship is a paid, 10-week summer program for college students at WWT, the St. Louis-area IT solutions provider that designs, tests and delivers technology for large enterprises. WWT calls it a program "designed to give college students an opportunity to experience the workplace prior to graduation" (requisition text). Interns get an assigned manager and a mentor, executive and Chairman fireside chats, a former-intern panel, an Intern Day of Caring, and workshops ranging from resume tips to cybersecurity boot camps. Technology interns can land in the Advanced Technology Center, the lab where WWT builds multi-vendor proofs of concept before customers buy. WWT ranked No. 10 on the 2026 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list, its 15th straight year on it, per a Great Place To Work announcement on Business Wire. Its 2027 requisitions describe a company of more than 15,000 employees across WWT and Softchoice.

When Do World Wide Technology Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
WWT runs one summer intake on one fixed window, and the pattern has held for three cycles. Summer 2025 applications closed November 1, 2024; summer 2026 applications ran September 2 to October 31, 2025; summer 2027 applications opened in August 2026 and close October 31, 2026, according to WWT's page and every 2027 requisition ("This application is open from August 2026 through October 2026"). That's a lead time of about 9 months from window open to the May start. If you miss this deadline, the next door is summer 2028, with applications expected to open around August 2027 and close around October 31, 2027.
Applications for summer 2027 are open right now on all 8 WWT requisitions, and they close October 31, 2026. Pick one requisition that fits your major, apply, and list your other interests in question 10. Don't wait for a better resume; the window won't reopen this cycle.
Applications for summer 2027 close on every track, including the MBA consulting and part-time Student Athlete requisitions. WWT's page states the date; this isn't a rolling program.
Recruiter screens, hiring-manager interviews and offers for summer 2027. WWT doesn't publish offer dates, so watch your email through the winter.
The summer 2027 program begins (requisition text) and runs 10 weeks, with WWT's FAQ allowing 10 to 14. You'll arrange your own housing and transportation; WWT doesn't cover either.
Applications for summer 2028 expected to open around August 2027 and close around October 31, 2027, based on three cycles of end-of-October closes.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
WWT's urgency is a hard deadline, not a rolling queue. The program page says the 2027 applications "will be open until October 31, 2026," and the summer 2025 and 2026 windows closed on the same date, give or take a day. There's no late entry and no second wave for summer 2027. The single-application rule raises the stakes further: WWT's internship team recommends applying to ONE intern position and naming your other interests in question 10, so your one submission has to show the right major, Excel skills and a clear first choice. Give yourself time to pick the right requisition, check your graduation date against it, and submit well before October 31 so a browser error on the last night can't cost you the cycle.
Which World Wide Technology Internship Programs Should You Target?
WWT consolidated its summer 2027 hiring into eight umbrella requisitions. Each covers several teams, so read the relevant-majors list before you choose.
| Requisition | Teams covered | Duration | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technology & Analytics | Advanced Technology Center, Internal IT (apps, infrastructure, security, data, AI), solutions architecture, app and web development | 10 weeks | CS, software engineering, IT, data or business analytics, network engineering, UX/UI, cybersecurity |
| Solutions, Consulting & Engineering | Enterprise architecture, data science, digital transformation, management consulting, MLOps, multicloud, security | 10 weeks | Two paths: Solutions Consulting or Data Consulting |
| SC&E MBA Management Consulting | Client-facing consulting with SC&E | 10 weeks | MBA students only |
| Business Operations | HR, finance, marketing, global operations and supply chain | 10 weeks | HR, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, supply chain, industrial engineering |
| GES Sales/Sales Ops & Business Development | Business development, sales operations, contracting and licensing, business analytics | 10 weeks | Sales and marketing, strategy, business analytics, finance, entrepreneurship |
| Global Project Management Org | Material planning, order management, staging and integration | 10 weeks | Project management, supply chain, operations management |
| Compliance, Contracts & Legal Technology | Legal, compliance, sustainability, safety | 10 weeks | Pre-law, public policy, environmental studies, occupational safety, finance |
| Part-Time Student Athlete | Any of the areas above | Summer, 20 hrs/week | Varsity athletes; launched in 2026 |

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Every summer 2027 requisition sets the same baseline. Here's what we read across all eight on WWT's ADP board:
• Enrollment: currently enrolled in a college, university or certification program, with at least one completed semester and at least one semester left after the internship.
• Graduation date: December 2027 or later on 7 of 8 requisitions. The Technology & Analytics posting still reads "December 2026 or later", which contradicts its own one-semester-left rule, so plan around December 2027.
• GPA: no minimum appears in any of the eight requisitions or in WWT's FAQ.
• Work authorization: none of the eight requisitions includes a sponsorship statement either way. Ask the recruiter if it applies to you.
• Logistics: you must provide your own housing and transportation; WWT doesn't pay for either at any office.
• MBA track: the Management Consulting requisition is for MBA students only.

Does WWT Only Hire Tech Majors?
No. Five of the eight requisitions are business, sales, project management, legal or athletics tracks, and each lists non-technical majors such as HR, marketing, pre-law and supply chain. What every track shares is a screen on Excel and a "strong interest in numbers/mathematics", including the legal and sales postings. A recruiter checks your education, experience, skills and interests first, so the match between your major and the requisition's relevant-majors list matters more than a GPA you're never asked about.

Could You Get In at World Wide Technology? Compare Your Profile
Based on 403 software engineering interns who started their first software internship between 2024 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.
Which summer are you applying for?
Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.
Which group is your school closest to?
Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.
Is your major computer science, software engineering, data science or electrical engineering?
Almost every software intern in our data studied one of these. Other majors get in, but the coursework has to show elsewhere.
How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?
Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.
Has any of that experience been tech-related?
Software, data, IT, engineering or a research lab. Any size of company counts.
Do you have at least one project on your resume or LinkedIn?
Personal, class, hackathon or open-source projects all count.
Aggregated from public LinkedIn profiles of people who held the internship. No individual profile is shown. Read the cross-industry study of 2,500+ intern profiles.
What Skills Does World Wide Technology Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
WWT's summer 2027 requisitions don't name a software stack. They name majors and a short list of general skills, and the general list is identical across all eight. Three buckets come out of them. Numbers and Excel: every requisition asks for Microsoft Office "with an emphasis in Excel" and a strong interest in numbers. Judgment and communication: written and verbal communication, attention to detail, independent judgment and leadership, also on all eight. Track depth: data and analytics show up in four requisitions, finance and accounting in three, security and supply chain in two each.

How Is Demand for Data and Analytics Interns Moving Right Now?

vs 37 in August
September was the posting peak for analytics internships, and WWT's window closes at the end of October, so the time to compare offers and submit is this month.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill in the chart maps to a remote Externship with a finished project you can describe in a WWT recruiter screen.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| AI, data and automation | Technology & Analytics: Internal IT support across "Data, and AI"; SC&E lists MLOps and data science | Wayfair n8n AI Agent Engineering |
| Security | Technology & Analytics names cybersecurity majors; SC&E lists security; program includes cybersecurity boot camps | Hydroficient IoT Cyber Defense |
| Data consulting and business analytics | SC&E Data Consulting path; GES Sales Ops lists business analytics | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
| Strategy and consulting | SC&E management consulting; MBA Management Consulting requisition | Corporate Strategy, mentored by Eric Ries |
| Operations and supply chain analytics | Business Operations global operations supply chain; GPMO material planning and order management | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| Excel and financial analysis | All 8 requisitions: Microsoft Office "with an emphasis in Excel"; Business Operations finance | Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling |
Timing matters here. WWT's summer 2027 window closes October 31, so submit your application first; an Externship started this month gives you a live project to talk about in interviews and a finished one for the summer 2028 cycle.
What Is the World Wide Technology Application and Interview Process Like?
WWT publishes a short process. Here's what its FAQ and requisitions describe:
1. Pick one requisition. Choose from the eight on the program page and apply on WWT's ADP board; list your other areas of interest in question 10 of the application.
2. Recruiter screen. HR reviews your education, experience, skills and interests against the requisition's relevant majors.
3. Hiring-manager interview. If a team wants to pursue you, a manager from that area interviews you. WWT's page tells candidates to know the company's mission, vision and core values.
4. Offer. WWT doesn't publish an offer date; offers for summer 2027 arrive after the October 31 close.
WWT doesn't describe a coding test or case round for undergraduate tracks on any page we found. One MBA applicant on Reddit reported strategy interviews that ended after a round or two, so prepare for more than one conversation.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit discussion of WWT internships is thin, and none of it includes pay or timeline numbers. Three threads add first-hand color.
A commenter answering a veteran's question said they had interned at WWT and were now working there full time, and described the company as supportive of veterans.
An MBA student who had applied to more than 100 internships said they interviewed with WWT for strategy roles and, like at other firms, was usually cut after a round or two, before learning to network first.
A St. Louis computer science sophomore named WWT alongside Mastercard and Spectrum as the obvious local IT internship targets, and asked the community for alternatives.
How Do You Stand Out With Only One Application?
WWT doesn't publish an applicant count, a class size or a conversion rate, and its FAQ says it can't guarantee a full-time job after graduation. What you control is the one application. First, choose the requisition by its relevant-majors list, not its title. A finance major fits Business Operations or GES Sales Ops; a data analytics major fits Technology & Analytics or the SC&E Data Consulting path. Second, use question 10 deliberately. Naming two specific secondary teams tells the internship team where else to route you. Third, show the Excel and numbers screen on your resume with a concrete result: a model, a dashboard or an analysis with a number attached. If you're targeting the Advanced Technology Center, say so and explain why lab-based proof-of-concept work interests you.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 World Wide Technology internship?
No. Summer 2026 applications ran September 2 to October 31, 2025, and that program has already run. Summer 2027 applications are open now on all eight requisitions and close October 31, 2026. If you miss that date, applications for summer 2028 are expected to open around August 2027.
When do WWT internship applications close for summer 2027?
October 31, 2026. WWT's internship page says the 2027 applications are live until that date, and every requisition says the application is open from August 2026 through October 2026. The close date has landed at the end of October for three straight cycles, so don't expect an extension.
Is the WWT internship rolling?
No. WWT runs one fixed window with a published close date rather than a rolling queue. It also asks you to apply to only one intern requisition and list your other interests in question 10, so the single application you submit before October 31 is your whole shot for summer 2027.
What GPA do you need for a WWT internship?
WWT doesn't publish one. None of the eight summer 2027 requisitions or the program FAQ states a GPA floor. The stated gates are enrollment, at least one completed semester, at least one semester left after the internship, and a relevant major listed on the requisition you choose.
How much do WWT interns make?
All eight summer 2027 requisitions publish the same base range: $18 to $25 per hour, paid hourly. WWT doesn't pay for housing or transportation at any location, so budget for both if you'd be relocating to the St. Louis area. Interns get a work laptop and access to WWT's on-site health clinic.
What is the WWT internship interview process?
It's short. After you apply to one requisition, a recruiter screens your education, experience, skills and interests. If a team wants to move forward, a hiring manager interviews you, and offers follow after the October 31 close. WWT doesn't publish offer dates or describe a technical test for undergraduate tracks.
Does a WWT internship lead to a full-time job?
Sometimes, but it isn't guaranteed. WWT's FAQ says it can't guarantee a full-time position to any intern after graduation, and it doesn't publish a conversion rate. One Reddit commenter reported moving from intern to full time. WWT also runs separate early-career programs for new graduates.
Where are WWT internships located?
Mostly at WWT's global headquarters in Maryland Heights, Missouri, in the St. Louis metro, and its Edwardsville, Illinois warehouses. WWT's FAQ says some internships can be done remotely from anywhere in the US, so ask the team about it. The part-time Student Athlete track can be onsite or virtual.
WWT's summer 2027 window closes October 31, 2026, so apply to your one requisition this month. Then keep building: a remote Externship gives you a finished project for the interviews ahead and for the summer 2028 cycle.
