Verisk Internship 2027–2028: Programs, Deadlines & How to Apply

Verisk's summer 2027 internship applications closed on Friday, 2 October 2026 at 11:59pm ET. That date was printed in all six US requisitions, and the window lasted about four and a half weeks: the roles went live between 31 August and 10 September 2026. If you missed it, the next door is the summer 2028 wave, expected to post in August and September 2027. In plain words: you apply during 2027, you intern in summer 2028.

Verisk is the Jersey City data analytics and technology company behind ISO loss costs and catastrophe models, and its requisitions describe it as "7,000 people strong". The 2027 program hired AI, Actuarial, Business, Tech, Risk Analyst and Sales interns across Jersey City and Holmdel (NJ), Boston (MA) and Lehi (UT). It runs ten weeks, full-time and paid. Pay isn't published in any of the six requisitions.

What Is a Verisk Internship?

A Verisk internship is a ten-week, paid, full-time summer program inside the analytics company that supplies the insurance industry with ISO data, loss costs and catastrophe risk models. Interns work hybrid, at least three days a week in the office, and the business and office are assigned at the offer stage.

The requisitions say the program has been "Recognized as a Top 100 Internship Program by Yello and WayUp", which is Verisk's own claim. The Student Opportunities page says most hires into its Early Career Foundations Program come from the summer and co-op programs. That makes the internship the main door into a first full-time role there.

When Do Verisk Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Verisk's own student page says summer internship positions "are typically posted in August and September", and the 2027 wave followed that to the week. Six requisitions posted between 31 August and 10 September 2026, and every body carried the same line: "Application deadline: Friday, Oct 2 @ 11:59pm ET". The ATS end date on all six matched it.

We have one directly observed cycle, so treat the summer 2028 dates below as a projection. A third-party mirror showed early-October and early-December deadlines for two summer 2026 tracks; we couldn't verify those against Verisk's own board.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

This is a hard-deadline program, not a rolling one. All six 2027 tracks closed on the same published date, and nothing in the requisitions suggests late applications are reviewed.

The window is also short: it ran from 31 August (AI and Actuarial) to 2 October 2026, so the Sales track, which posted on 10 September, was open for just over three weeks. That matters for summer 2028 because several tracks ask for something you can't produce in a weekend: the AI Intern track wanted a cover letter answering a set prompt and, if shortlisted, a ZIP portfolio of AI or machine learning work. So the practical rule is to have the resume, the portfolio and your track choice settled before September 2027.

Which Verisk Internship Programs Should You Target?

These are the six tracks Verisk posted for summer 2027. Expect a similar set for summer 2028, though the openings per office will change.

Openings in brackets are the counts Verisk printed in the 2027 requisitions. The co-op (Experiential Education Program) runs four to six months in Boston and Jersey City and posts separately; see the Student Opportunities page.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The 2027 requisitions set these gates. For summer 2028, expect each graduation window to move forward one year.

• Enrollment: a bachelor's or master's program (the Tech req also accepts bootcamp students with CS coursework).

• Graduation window: December 2027 or May/June 2028 for the 2027 program; the Actuarial track took May/June 2028 only. For summer 2028, the expected window is December 2028 or May/June 2029.

• Availability: the full ten weeks from the start date, and living near the assigned office for 3+ in-office days a week.

• Work authorization: no visa sponsorship. The AI and Actuarial reqs add that anyone who'll need sponsorship after graduation, such as H-1B after CPT or OPT, doesn't meet the basic requirements.

• Majors: open, with Risk Management & Insurance "a plus" on the Business, Risk and Sales tracks; Actuarial wants math, data science, statistics, economics, risk management or operations research.

Is There a GPA Cutoff?

None is published. We searched all six 2027 requisition bodies for a GPA requirement and found none. What the reqs do test is skill: an Excel assessment for Actuarial, a HackerRank test for Tech and a portfolio for AI. So a modest GPA with a strong assessment score is a realistic path, while a high GPA won't cover a weak Excel test.

What Skills Does Verisk Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Three buckets show up across the six 2027 requisitions. First, spreadsheet and data work: five of six name Excel, and the Business req calls it the minimum foundation. Second, a technical layer that varies by track, from SQL and Python to Power BI and the catastrophe model Touchstone. Third, a quantitative, insurance-curious mindset. The Risk Analyst and Sales reqs say outright that "the quantitative mindset" is what they evaluate.

What Is the Verisk Application and Interview Process Like?

Verisk printed its process in each 2027 requisition, and it differs by track:

1. Apply on the Oracle careers site before the deadline. The AI Intern track also asked for a cover letter answering a set prompt.

2. Track-specific screen. AI Intern: a ZIP portfolio of AI, machine learning or generative AI work, if your resume is selected. Tech Intern: a HackerRank assessment, coding in a language you choose plus multiple-choice questions.

3. Digital interview. Recorded questions about what drives you, with short videos from current employees. Actuarial pairs it with a comprehensive Excel assessment.

4. Recruiter screening call (AI and Tech tracks), a short conversation about your background and interests.

5. Final live virtual interview with a recruitment committee, framed as a two-way fit check.

6. Offer. The committee decides, then tells you which business and office you'll join.

How Do You Stand Out for a Verisk Internship?

Verisk doesn't publish applicant numbers or an acceptance rate, so we can't tell you the odds. The requisitions do say plainly what gets tested. Three moves:

1. Be ready on 1 September 2027. The 2027 tracks posted 31 August to 10 September and closed 2 October. A finished resume and a chosen track mean you apply in week one, not week four.

2. Bring the artifact your track checks. AI: a portfolio of applied AI work, beyond prompting. Tech: HackerRank practice in your strongest language. Actuarial: Excel fluent enough for a timed assessment, plus one actuarial exam if you can (preferred, not required).

3. Show you understand insurance data. Four of six reqs mention insurance. Learn what an ISO loss cost is, or what a catastrophe model does for a reinsurer, and use it in your digital interview answers.
