Tyler Technologies' summer 2027 internships are open right now. Tyler's own job system lists 13 student requisitions, 12 for Summer 2027 and one year-round role for University of Maine students, and its website adds a 14th, an AI Product Analyst co-op. The first went live September 18, 2026 and the newest October 19. Posted pay runs from $20 to $25 an hour in most roles, and Plano is $20 to $23. No posting states a deadline. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and the earlier you apply the better.

What Is a Tyler Technologies Internship?

A Tyler Technologies internship is a paid summer placement, usually in software development, at the Plano, Texas company that builds software for local government, courts and schools. Tyler has no named intern program. It posts each role as its own requisition, mostly in Plano, with others in Lubbock, Lakewood, Lawrenceville, Troy and Maine. Software interns work with a Product Manager on real projects in live products. Tyler's careers site profiles eight intern roles, from marketing to security. It doesn't publish a class size, and this page covers Tyler Technologies, not Tyler, Texas.

When Do Tyler Technologies Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Tyler's summer 2027 requisitions arrived in waves. The first posted September 18 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, then the Plano and Maine roles on September 21, Troy on September 28, Lubbock and Lakewood on October 8, and a Plano content role on October 12, all dates from Tyler's own Jobvite feed. Last cycle followed the same shape: Wayback captures of Tyler's job-listing URLs first show Summer 2026 intern pages on September 17, 2025, with more added through May 2026 (a capture date is an upper bound on the posting date). The postings print no start date, so for a late-May start, our assumption, the first roles sit about 8 months ahead.

Now · October 2026YOU ARE HERE

Applications are open. Tyler's Jobvite lists 13 student requisitions, 12 for Summer 2027 and one year-round University of Maine role, and its website adds an AI Product Analyst co-op in Yarmouth, Maine.

Apply first, then build alongside: the SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games Externship or the BeReal Product Management Externship gives you a finished project to discuss in an interview.
Now to spring 2027ROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

Apply this week. No posting states a deadline, but a requisition for your city can come down without notice: the closed Summer 2026 Plano req now redirects to Tyler's general jobs list. More roles may appear, as they did through spring 2026.

After you apply

Tyler doesn't publish its interview stages or timing. The Plano software posting says an offer is contingent on passing a federal background check.

Summer 2027

Postings say "next summer" and give no dates. Software interns work with a Product Manager on real projects; the UX Content Strategist role is three months. The year-round Orono role starts in May 2027.

Mid-September 2027EXPECTED

Summer 2028 requisitions expected, if the pattern holds: Tyler's first intern pages appeared around September 17 in 2025 and September 18 in 2026. Two cycles is a short record, so treat this as medium confidence.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Tyler's mode is rolling, and what matters is your city. No posting names a close date, and last cycle roles kept arriving through spring, so there is no single cliff. But each requisition is separate, and a closed one disappears: Tyler's Summer 2026 Plano software role now redirects to the general jobs list, while its website card still lists it. Apply while your city's posting is live, and don't wait for a second wave, because a wave might not include your location.

Which Tyler Technologies Internship Programs Should You Target?

Tyler posts individual roles, not a named program. The table groups the 14 live requisitions by team, and pay is Tyler's own posted range.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

These come from the 13 Jobvite postings and the co-op page, which we read on October 26, 2026.

• Software roles: pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or similar. The posting text breaks off mid-sentence after "Software Engineering or", so the full list of accepted majors isn't visible.

• Product Analyst: pursuing a degree in management information systems, business, computer science, management, marketing, technical writing or a related field, with a 3.00 or higher GPA in the major.

• Content and UX roles: UX Content Strategist asks for communications, marketing, UX design or human-computer interaction; Content Development asks for an interest in video production or instructional design.

• Maine support roles: business, accounting or economics majors preferred, and preference given to juniors.

• Work authorization and class year: the intern postings state neither rule, except the Maine preference for juniors.

Do You Need a Computer Science Degree?

Not for every role. Tyler's content, UX writing, product analyst and support roles are written for other majors, and the Product Analyst role names business and marketing. The six software development postings do ask for a computer science or software engineering degree. Note that the Troy posting's body still says "this summer" even though its title says Summer 2027, a sign of reused text, so confirm details with the recruiter.

Could You Get In at Tyler Technologies? Compare Your Profile

Based on 403 software engineering interns who started their first software internship between 2024 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.

Question 1 of 6

Which summer are you applying for?

Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.

Question 2 of 6

Which group is your school closest to?

Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.

Question 3 of 6

Is your major computer science, software engineering, data science or electrical engineering?

Almost every software intern in our data studied one of these. Other majors get in, but the coursework has to show elsewhere.

Question 4 of 6

How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?

Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.

Question 5 of 6

Has any of that experience been tech-related?

Software, data, IT, engineering or a research lab. Any size of company counts.

Question 6 of 6

Do you have at least one project on your resume or LinkedIn?

Personal, class, hackathon or open-source projects all count.

What Skills Does Tyler Technologies Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Three themes run through the 13 postings. Software stack: eight name SQL and eight name C#, C++ or ASP.NET, and the UMaine posting adds Python and JavaScript. Working style: eleven ask for communication skills and eleven mention documenting work, ten for problem solving. Research: nine mention independent research or presenting recommendations. The DevOps role adds cloud platforms, Docker and scripting, and the Content Development role asks for a video editing tool.

The overlap is closest on SQL and requirements work. No open Externship teaches C#, ASP.NET or CI/CD pipelines, so those rows build the surrounding habits, not the language.

What Is the Tyler Technologies Application and Interview Process Like?

Tyler publishes the application route but not the interview stages.

1. Pick a requisition. Browse Tyler's job listings page, which links each role to a Jobvite apply form, or join the talent network.

2. Apply on Jobvite. Each role is its own application, so apply separately to each city or team you want.

3. Screening and interviews. Tyler doesn't publish its stages, test or timing.

4. Offer. The Plano software posting says an offer is contingent on passing a federal background check at the time it's extended and during employment.

We found no interview questions from Tyler or from a current-cycle intern.

What We Found on Reddit

Nothing we can use for the 2027 cycle. The Tyler threads we found are a full-time hiring complaint, a 2017 question about a coding test and a 2019 hiring thread, so we show no quotes rather than borrow stale ones.

How Do You Stand Out for a Public-Sector Software Company?

First, match the stack. The dev postings name SQL plus C#, C++ or ASP.NET, so a project in one of those beats a generic web app. Second, show the public-sector link: Tyler builds for courts, schools and local government, and the Product Analyst role sits on its Courts & Justice team, so mention a civic or records-based project. Third, apply for the city you can work in, since pay and roles vary by site. Tyler doesn't publish a class size, applicant counts or a conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Tyler Technologies internship?

No. Summer 2026 is over, and the Summer 2026 Plano requisition is closed, even though Tyler's job-listings page still shows its card. Summer 2027 is the cycle open now: 13 requisitions went up between September 18 and October 19, 2026, and Tyler's website adds a co-op.

When do Tyler Technologies internship applications open?

For summer 2027 they opened September 18, 2026, with more roles added through October 19. Last cycle Tyler's first intern pages appeared around September 17, 2025 and more followed into spring 2026. Summer 2028 requisitions are expected from mid-September 2027, with medium confidence.

How much do Tyler Technologies interns make?

Tyler's postings list $20 to $23 an hour in Plano, $20 to $25 for the Georgia and Maine software roles and $20 to $22 for Maine support roles. Lubbock and Lakewood show $25 to $28 with the unit "Annually", so confirm that unit. Troy and the Maine year-round role post no pay.

Is there a deadline for Tyler Technologies internships?

None is printed on any posting. Roles were added over a month, and last cycle they kept appearing into spring. But each requisition can close without notice, as the Summer 2026 Plano role did, so apply for your city's posting while it's live.

Do I need to be a computer science major to intern at Tyler?

Only for the software roles, which ask for a computer science or software engineering degree. The Product Analyst role accepts business, MIS, marketing and related majors with a 3.00 GPA, and UX Content, Content Development and Maine support roles are written for communications and business students.

Where are Tyler Technologies internships located?

The live roles are in Plano and Lubbock, Texas; Lakewood, Colorado; Lawrenceville, Georgia; Troy, Michigan; and Yarmouth, Falmouth and Orono, Maine. The postings don't state remote or hybrid options, so ask about work location and any relocation support before you accept an offer.

Is there a year-round Tyler Technologies internship?

Yes, one: a Software Development Intern role in Orono, Maine, posted October 19, 2026 and starting May 2027. It's strictly for University of Maine Orono students. Tyler also lists an AI Product Analyst co-op at its Yarmouth, Maine office, with no pay or dates posted.

Does Tyler Technologies convert interns to full-time employees?

Tyler doesn't publish a conversion rate or class size. Its careers site profiles eight intern roles but gives no hiring statistics. Treat any percentage you see on job-board or review sites as unverified, and ask your recruiter about full-time openings during the internship.

Pick the posting that matches your city and major, and apply this week. While you wait, a remote Externship gives you a finished SQL or product project to talk about in the interview.
