Tanium's summer 2027 internship applications are open now. Eight US intern roles went live on its Greenhouse board between September 8 and 22, 2026, and Tanium's internship page says there's no official deadline but most roles are filled by the end of December, so it recommends applying by November. You apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027: the 10-week program runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, and every posting publishes its hourly rate, from $25 for sales and revenue operations to $60 for software engineering in Emeryville. Tanium, the Kirkland, Washington endpoint management and security company founded in 2007, says on its blog that its summer program has grown to 40 to 70 interns a year and has extended full-time offers to more than 140 interns since 2020.
What Is a Tanium Internship?
A Tanium internship is a paid, 10-week summer program for bachelor's students at Tanium, a private software company whose platform gives IT and security teams real-time visibility and control over every endpoint in a network. Tanium's postings say its customers include the U.S. Department of Defense and more than half the Fortune 100, and that it has made the Forbes Cloud 100 ten years running. Every intern gets a 1:1 mentor; software engineering interns also get a peer intern buddy and present what they built to engineering leadership at the end. The program blog describes weekly sessions with members of the executive leadership team, including CEO Dan Streetman, plus training on feedback, presentations and personal brand. Tanium launched the structured program in 2020 and reports 40 to 70 interns each summer.
When Do Tanium Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Tanium publishes its own recruiting calendar: applications for summer 2027 open September to November, interviews and offers run October to January, and the program starts in June. This year the eight postings went up between September 8 and 22, 2026, about 9 months before the June 7, 2027 start. The previous cycle looked the same: Reddit applicants for summer 2026 were in third-round technical support interviews by mid-October 2025, and one sophomore already held a software engineering offer by October 16. With one summer intake a year and no academic-year internships in the US, missing this fall means waiting for the summer 2028 window, expected to open around early September 2027.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Tanium's bar is specific and printed in every posting:
• Class year: currently enrolled bachelor's students graduating Fall/December 2027 or Spring 2028, which in practice means rising seniors next summer. Tanium's FAQ says the program targets juniors graduating 1-2 semesters after it starts.
• GPA: 3.5 or above. The Software Engineering and Cloud Security postings mark it REQUIRED; Customer Success and both TSE postings list 3.5; Sales and Revenue Operations say "ideally" 3.5.
• Work authorization: authorized to work in the US now and in the future. Tanium's FAQ says that in most cases it can't hire interns who need sponsorship.
• Office: you'll work from the listed office at least three days a week; Sales interns are onsite four days.
• Season: summer only. Tanium says it doesn't typically offer academic-year internships in the US.
Is the 3.5 GPA a Hard Cutoff?
On two roles, yes by Tanium's own wording: the Software Engineering and Cloud Security postings say "GPA of 3.5 or above REQUIRED." The TSE and Customer Success postings list 3.5 without that emphasis, and the Sales and Revenue Operations postings soften it to "ideally." What Is the Tanium Application and Interview Process Like?
