Takeda's U.S. business hires students two ways, and only one is open today. The U.S. Summer Internship Program is a 10 to 12 week program across R&D, supply, commercial and corporate teams, but no summer 2027 posting was on Takeda's job site when we rechecked on October 25, 2026, and the program page lists no application dates. What is open: three co-op postings in the Boston area (Real Estate & Facilities, Facilities Asset Management & Process Improvement, and Global Procurement), each advertising an hourly range of $21.00 to $46.00 that depends on your school year or level. In plain words: the co-ops are open now, the summer 2027 internship hasn't posted yet, and Takeda doesn't publish a calendar, so check the board weekly.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most often in 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship builds the operations and procurement thinking Takeda's corporate co-ops describe, and the SQL & Database Architecture Externship with Breaking Games trains the data and dashboard work. What Is a Takeda Internship?

A Takeda internship in the US means one of two tracks at Takeda's U.S. business (Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., part of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited of Tokyo), which is run from the Greater Boston area. The first is the U.S. Summer Internship Program, a 10 to 12 week experience with leader sessions, professional development workshops, a mentorship program and events such as National Intern Day. The second is a co-op, a longer assignment posted one role at a time. The three open co-ops sit in corporate functions: real estate and facilities, facilities asset management, and global procurement. Takeda's internships outside the US follow different calendars and are outside this guide. Takeda doesn't publish class size or a conversion rate.

When Do Takeda Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Takeda doesn't publish an application calendar for either track. The three co-op postings are live, with page data showing they were posted on October 23, 2026 and no closing date. The summer program page describes a 10 to 12 week program but lists no application dates, and no summer 2027 posting existed on October 25. We couldn't find a dated earlier US summer cycle, so we can't compute a lead time or project a month for summer 2027. The honest advice is to apply to the co-ops now and to check the summer program page and the job board weekly.

Summer 2027 postings (date not published)EXPECTED

The summer program should post at some point before its 10 to 12 week run, but Takeda gives no month and we won't guess one. Watch the program page and the job board.

Co-op assignments

The Real Estate & Facilities co-op is a six-month assignment, and none of the three postings states a start date. Confirm the term with the recruiter.

Summer 2027

The program page describes leader sessions, development workshops, mentorship, orientation, National Intern Day and farewell events across 10 to 12 weeks. Takeda publishes no return-offer rate.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Takeda doesn't say whether its student postings are rolling, hard-deadline or short-window, and none of the three co-ops states a closing date. Because the postings are new and the company doesn't publish how long they stay up, treat them as first-come. The summer program is harder to plan around: with no calendar, the risk is missing a posting that goes up and closes before you look. A weekly check of the job board and the program page is the practical way to catch it.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Requirements differ by posting. These come from the three co-op postings and the program page.

• Degree: the Real Estate & Facilities co-op asks for students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, real estate, facilities management, engineering, architecture, data analytics or a related field. Facilities Asset Management lists facilities management, engineering, data analytics, business, finance, information systems, supply chain and construction management.

• Procurement co-op: foundational knowledge of procurement, supply chain, business administration, finance or analytics is "preferred."

• School level: wages depend on your school year or level, so state yours clearly.

• Work model: hybrid, with 1 to 3 days a week in the office on two of the postings.

• Summer program: the page says it's for students and doesn't state a class year.

• GPA and work authorization: neither is stated in the postings we read.

Is a Science Degree Required?

Not for the open co-ops. The three postings are corporate-function roles, and their degree lists are business, finance, supply chain, facilities, engineering, architecture and data analytics. The summer program does include lab research and pharmaceutical sciences work in R&D, but it hasn't posted for summer 2027, so check its postings for degree requirements when they appear.

What Skills Does Takeda Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The three co-op postings share a business-analytics core. All three ask for strong analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, and all three include data analysis, reporting or dashboards among the duties. Excel and Power BI appear in the two facilities postings. The Facilities Asset posting adds process mapping, standard operating procedures and root-cause analysis, and the Procurement posting adds market research, benchmarking and AI-related procurement initiatives. The summer program page adds lab research, data analytics, process safety and, in Medical Communications, data analysis with AI and machine learning.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

Each skill in the postings maps to a remote Externship you can finish while the co-ops are open.

The overlap is closest on the analytics side: a finished dashboard or process-mapping project gives you a specific example when a hiring manager asks how you'd clean up messy operational data.

What Is the Takeda Application and Interview Process Like?

Takeda doesn't publish interview stages for students. This is what its pages state:

1. Find the posting on Takeda's own site. Search jobs.takeda.com for "co-op", and use the program page's Apply Here link for the summer program.

2. Watch for scams. Takeda warns that identity thieves post Takeda-branded jobs and pose as recruiters. Apply only on its own site.

3. State your school level. The co-op wage range of $21.00 to $46.00 depends on school year or level.

4. Expect a hybrid assignment. Two of the co-ops require 1 to 3 days a week in the office, in Cambridge or Boston.

Takeda hasn't published interview rounds, formats or timelines for students, so we haven't described any.

What Students on Reddit Say

We found no first-hand Reddit report from a Takeda intern or co-op. The r/biotech threads that exist discuss experienced-hire interviews, ghosting and layoffs rather than student programs, so we haven't built community cards from them.

How Do You Stand Out for a Takeda Internship?

First, match the posting. The three co-ops are corporate analytics roles, so show Excel or Power BI work, a documented process or a dashboard, not lab credentials. Second, be precise about your school level, because Takeda ties the wage to it. Third, show you'll come back: Takeda's program page features returning "Boomerang" interns, including a manager who worked with the same intern for two summers, which shows the program takes returning interns. Takeda doesn't publish class size, applicant counts or a conversion rate, so we won't estimate them.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Takeda internship?

No. Summer 2026 internships ran last summer and are over. Takeda's summer 2027 U.S. Summer Internship Program hadn't posted on October 25, 2026, but three Boston-area co-op postings were open at $21.00 to $46.00 an hour, depending on school year or level.

When do Takeda summer 2027 internship applications open?

Takeda hasn't said. The program page lists no dates and no summer 2027 posting existed on October 25, 2026. We found no dated earlier US cycle to project from, so check the program page and jobs.takeda.com weekly instead of trusting an estimated month.

Are Takeda co-ops open now?

Yes. Three US co-op postings were open on October 25, 2026: Real Estate & Facilities, Facilities Asset Management & Process Improvement, and Global Procurement Strategic Projects. Their page data shows October 23, 2026, none states a closing date, and none states a start date.

How much do Takeda co-ops pay?

Each of the three co-op postings advertises $21.00 to $46.00 per hour and says the actual wage depends on your school year or level. That's a wide range, so don't treat it as a typical rate. Takeda doesn't publish pay for the summer internship program.

How long is a Takeda internship?

The U.S. Summer Internship Program runs 10 to 12 weeks. The Real Estate & Facilities co-op is a six-month assignment, while the Facilities Asset and Global Procurement co-op postings don't state a length. None of the co-op postings gives a start date, so confirm the term with the recruiter.

Who is eligible for a Takeda internship or co-op?

Students. The co-op postings ask for students pursuing a bachelor's degree in fields like business, finance, supply chain, facilities management, engineering or data analytics, while the Procurement posting calls foundational procurement or supply chain knowledge preferred. GPA and work authorization aren't stated in the postings we read.

Where are Takeda's US internships?

The open co-ops are in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and two are hybrid with 1 to 3 days a week in the office. Takeda runs its U.S. business from the Greater Boston area. The summer program page doesn't list the sites where interns work.

Do Takeda interns get full-time offers?

Takeda doesn't publish a conversion rate. Its program page includes testimonials, including one employee who said an internship made them want to join full time, and stories of returning interns, but no numbers. Treat any percentage you see elsewhere as unverified.

Apply to the co-op that fits your major now, and check Takeda's summer program page every week. In the meantime, a remote Externship gives you a finished analytics or operations project to talk about.
