Last updated: October 2026
SEI Investments hasn't posted its summer 2027 internship yet. On October 25, 2026, none of the 125 jobs on SEI's Workday board was an internship, and SEI's internship page says recruiting for the 2027 Summer Internship Program "will begin in Fall 2026." The program is a 10-week, paid summer experience for rising college seniors, so students graduating in May 2028 are the 2027 class. In plain words, you apply during 2026 or early 2027, and you intern in summer 2027. An older SEI student page says postings go up in early January with a short window, so the exact month isn't settled. This guide covers SEI Investments Company of Oaks, Pennsylvania, not the Software Engineering Institute.
What Is an SEI Investments Internship?
An SEI internship is a 10-week, paid summer program at SEI Investments Company, a technology and asset management firm based in Oaks, Pennsylvania that administers funds for hedge funds, private equity funds and other alternative investments. Per SEI's internship page, interns are embedded on real teams, join learning sessions and build relationships across the company. The program is for rising college seniors. SEI also describes it as a learning experience, not a guarantee of employment. SEI doesn't publish a class size or an acceptance rate, and it has no intern requisition posted as of October 25, 2026.

When Do SEI Investments Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
SEI has published no dates for 2027, and its two pages disagree. The current internship page says recruiting for the 2027 program will begin in fall 2026 and that openings will be posted on the SEI Careers site. An older student page on the same domain says to look for postings in early January and to apply before the end of the month. We can't tell which SEI will follow, so plan for any time between now and January 2027. That works out to about 8 to 9 months before a summer start if SEI posts this fall, or about 5 months if it posts in January.
Not posted yet. SEI's Workday board listed 125 jobs on October 25, 2026 and none was an internship. Use this window to get a resume and a financial analysis project ready, and set a job alert on the board.
Expected, with medium confidence: SEI's current page says recruiting begins in fall 2026, so this is the first window the posting could appear. Check the board every week.
Expected if the fall posting doesn't happen: SEI's older student page says to look for postings in early January and that the application window is short, closing by the end of the month.
Per SEI's older page: selected candidates hear in early February about a first-round virtual interview with a talent acquisition specialist, are matched to a role, and have a final interview with the hiring team, typically in March.
The 10-week paid program runs with interns embedded on real teams. SEI's earlier student page lists career coaching, a weekly seminar series and a global strategic project showcased to senior leadership.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
SEI's older student page is the only evidence on urgency, and it argues for speed: it says the application window is short and to apply before the end of the month. That's SEI's own wording, but the page is older than the current one and uses British spellings, so it may be legacy text. The current page gives no window at all. Either way, a program with no published class size and one posting a year isn't one to find a month late. Set an alert on the SEI Workday board now and apply within days of the posting appearing.
Which SEI Investments Internship Programs Should You Target?
SEI has one internship program and a separate entry-level route for graduates.
| Track | Focus | Duration | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summer Internship Program | Interns are embedded on real teams, with learning sessions and relationship building | 10 weeks, summer; paid | Not published until the req posts |
| Operations Analyst / Fund Accountant (December 2026 and Spring/Summer 2027 graduates), Oaks, PA | Entry-level roles in fund administration for hedge funds, private equity funds and other alternatives; a graduate route, not an internship | Full-time | Intermediate Excel, client communication, attention to detail |
| Other entry-level analyst reqs (Oaks, PA and New York) | Operations, reconciliation, AML and investor services roles | Full-time | Listed per req |
SEI's early career page links to both routes and to its entry-level openings.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
SEI states one clear rule for the internship and leaves the rest unpublished.
• Class year: rising college seniors. Students graduating with a bachelor's degree in May 2028 are eligible for the 2027 program, and 2029 graduates for 2028.
• Degree level: SEI's internship page says undergraduate students. Its early career hub says internships serve undergraduate and graduate students, so ask the recruiter if you're a graduate student.
• GPA: not published.
• Work authorization: not published for the internship. Its graduate Operations Analyst req says SEI isn't hiring people who need sponsorship now or in the future.
• Location: not published for 2027.

What If You Graduate in 2027?
Then the internship isn't for you, but SEI has an open graduate route. Its Operations Analyst / Fund Accountant req for December 2026 and spring or summer 2027 graduates is posted in Oaks, Pennsylvania. It asks for a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics or mathematics, intermediate Excel, and says internship experience is preferred. It also says SEI isn't hiring people who require sponsorship.

What Skills Does SEI Investments Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
SEI has posted no intern requisition, so it hasn't published an intern skills list. Its entry-level reqs show what it values early. The graduate Operations Analyst req asks for Excel and financial basics: intermediate Excel and a degree in business, accounting, finance, economics or mathematics. It stresses client communication, because analysts support clients by email and phone. And it lists attention to detail and curiosity, including a wish to help "implement a more efficient process or procedure." SEI's internship page also mentions learning how modern teams use AI tools responsibly.
Note: No skills chart on this page: SEI had no intern requisition on its Workday board on October 25, 2026, so there is no intern job description to count. The skills above come from SEI's graduate Operations Analyst requisition and its internship page.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each row maps a skill from SEI's entry-level reqs to a remote Externship that produces a finished project.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Excel and financial analysis | Graduate Operations Analyst req: "Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel" and a degree in accounting, finance or economics | Attronica Financial Planning & Analysis and Private Company Valuation |
| Financial services fundamentals | Same req: a wish to "broaden one's knowledge of the financial services industry" | Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling |
| Alternative investments research | SEI's fund administration clients include hedge funds, private equity funds and other alternatives | Mangusta Capital Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis |
| Process improvement | Same req: help "implement a more efficient process or procedure" | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
None of these Externships is affiliated with SEI. Most run about 8 weeks, so one started in November finishes before SEI's likely posting window.
What Is the SEI Investments Application and Interview Process Like?
SEI hasn't published a 2027 process. This is what its older student page describes.
1. Apply on the SEI Careers site. Openings are posted there when the window opens, and SEI advises checking it regularly.
2. First-round interview. Selected candidates hear in early February and meet a talent acquisition specialist virtually.
3. Role match. SEI uses the first interview to match you with the role it believes suits you best.
4. Final round. You interview with the hiring team for that role, typically in March.
What Interns Say on SEI's Careers Page
We found no Reddit threads about SEI internships, so these cards paraphrase the one first-hand account SEI publishes: a video transcript from a 2020 intern on its early career page.
A 2020 intern spent her 10 weeks in two roles: six weeks in the advisor unit with the broker-dealer and national accounts team, then four weeks with marketing. She also did a case study with interns from other units.
She said the internship prepared her for the associate role she later applied for and was offered, because she arrived with a built-in network and a mentor on her floor. Her advice was to be open-minded about which unit you land in.
How Do You Stand Out for an SEI Internship?
First, meet the one hard rule: be a rising senior, graduating in May 2028 for the 2027 program. Second, show you can learn across units. SEI's 2020 intern spent six weeks in one team and four in another, and she advised being open-minded about where you land. Third, be ready before it posts: SEI's posting window may be short, so have your resume and a financial analysis project finished now. SEI doesn't publish applicant counts or a conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 SEI Investments internship?
No. SEI's 2026 summer program has ended, and no 2027 internship is posted yet. SEI says recruiting for the 2027 Summer Internship Program begins in fall 2026. As of October 25, 2026, its Workday board showed 125 jobs and no internship, so check it regularly.
When do SEI summer 2027 internship applications open?
SEI hasn't given a date. Its current internship page says recruiting begins in fall 2026. An older SEI student page says postings go up in early January, with a short window that closes by the end of the month. Watch the SEI Careers site from now through January.
Is the SEI internship paid?
Yes. SEI describes the Summer Internship Program as a 10-week, paid summer experience for undergraduate students. The hourly rate isn't published on SEI's own pages, so we don't state one. Ask the recruiter about pay once you reach an interview.
Who is eligible for the SEI summer internship?
Rising college seniors. SEI says students graduating with a bachelor's degree in May 2028 are eligible for the 2027 program, and 2029 graduates for the 2028 program. It publishes no GPA minimum or work authorization rule for the internship, and the page is written for undergraduates.
Where is the SEI internship located?
SEI hasn't published the 2027 placement. Its main campus and most US jobs are in Oaks, Pennsylvania, with others in New York. The 2020 intern in SEI's video worked in the advisor unit and in marketing, so teams vary and placement is matched after your first interview.
Does an SEI internship lead to a job?
It can, but SEI doesn't promise it. Its internship page says the program isn't a guarantee of future employment. One 2020 intern says she applied for and was offered an associate role afterward. SEI publishes no conversion rate, so treat a return offer as possible, not expected.
What if I graduate in 2027 instead?
Apply for SEI's graduate route. Its Operations Analyst / Fund Accountant req for December 2026 and spring or summer 2027 graduates was open in Oaks, Pennsylvania on October 25, 2026. It asks for a degree in business, accounting, finance, economics or mathematics, and SEI isn't hiring people who need sponsorship.
Is SEI Investments the same as the Software Engineering Institute?
No. SEI Investments Company is the Oaks, Pennsylvania technology and asset management firm covered here. The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon, the Sei blockchain and the Swedish Environment Institute share the abbreviation. Check that the careers site is seic.com before you apply to anything called SEI.
SEI's internship isn't posted yet, so use the weeks before it opens to get ready. Set an alert on its Workday board, and a remote Externship can give you a finished financial analysis project to bring to the interview.
