The Miami Heat run three kinds of internship through the HEAT Group, whose job board covers both the Miami Heat and Kaseya Center: a summer league, season-long roles and spring roles. Two are open now on the HEAT Group's job board: a Content Studio Intern (Seasonal) posted on 1 September 2026, for the season from mid-September to June, and an Intern, IT posted on 7 August 2026, "for the spring." The Summer Internship League has no summer 2027 posting yet, and the Heat haven't said when it will open. Here's the cycle in plain words: if you're a junior, senior or current student, you can apply to the open roles today, and you wait for the summer league date.

Heat internships span content, sales, partnerships and data, so a finished project gives you something specific to show. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship fits content and partnership work, and the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship fits ticket-sales and data analytics. What Is a Miami Heat Internship?
A Miami Heat internship is an internship with the HEAT Group, whose job board covers both the Miami Heat and Kaseya Center. The club offers a Summer Internship League in which interns are split into teams, assigned a manager and graded, with a champion team and a Summer MVP at the end. It also posts season-long roles, such as the Content Studio Intern, and spring roles, such as the Service Desk internship in IT. All are in person in Miami. The 2026 league roster named interns in Data Analytics, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales and Season Ticket Memberships.

When Do Miami Heat Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The Heat run several intakes. The season-long and spring roles post on the HEAT Group's board in late summer: the IT requisition went up on 7 August 2026 and the Content Studio one on 1 September. The summer league is different: the official league page shows the 2026 league began with orientation on 8 June 2026, but the Heat publish no application dates, and the 2026 league requisitions have been removed from the board. So we can state the 2026 start, not a 2027 window. Treat any summer 2027 date as unknown until the board shows it.
Two internships are open: a season-long Content Studio Intern (juniors and seniors, 25 to 29 hours a week) and a spring Intern, IT (current students, at least 15 hours a week). If one fits, apply now. The summer 2027 league isn't posted yet.
Check the HEAT Group's board every month, since new intern requisitions can appear at any time. Have your résumé, a short work sample and your school's enrollment documentation ready; the Content Studio role requires official school documentation.
The Heat haven't published when summer 2027 league applications open or close. Set the board's job alert and apply the day a league requisition appears.
The IT Service Desk internship is described as "for the spring." The posting gives no dates, so ask about the start date at your interview.
If the league repeats, interns are split into teams and graded by managers, with Teamwork Tuesday group projects, Workshop Wednesday talks and Feedback Friday one-on-ones. The 2026 league began with orientation on 8 June.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
For the two open roles, the mode is no stated deadline: both were still posted on 17 October 2026, about six and ten weeks after they went up, but neither posting says when it closes. The Heat's earlier season-long and summer requisitions have been removed from the board, so you can't see how long they ran. Apply to an open role promptly rather than waiting, and apply the day a summer league requisition appears.
Which Miami Heat Internship Programs Should You Target?
The Heat run three tracks. This is what the board and the league page show.
| Track | Role | Term and hours | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summer Internship League | 2026 roster titles: Data Analytics, Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Sales, Season Ticket Memberships | Summer; 2026 began 8 June; hours not published | Not published |
| Season-long | Content Studio Intern (Seasonal) | Mid-September 2026 to June; 25 to 29 hours a week | Organization, tech skills, communication, flexible schedule |
| Spring | Intern, IT (Service Desk) | "For the spring"; at least 15 hours a week | Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Office/O365, hardware repair |
Roles post on the HEAT Group job board, linked from the Heat careers page. The board also lists non-internship jobs, such as greeters, valets and retail associates, which aren't part of these programs.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Eligibility depends on the track. Here's what the two open requisitions say:
• Content Studio Intern: designed for college juniors and seniors. Students must provide official documentation from their school verifying enrollment and internship eligibility.
• Intern, IT: you must be a current student enrolled in school and available at least 15 hours a week.
• Hours: Content Studio interns work 25 to 29 hours a week, including nights, weekends, holidays and game days.
• Location: both roles are in person in Miami.
• Summer league, GPA and work authorization: not published.

Do You Need School Credit or Approval?
The Content Studio posting requires official school documentation of enrollment and "internship eligibility," which in practice means checking with your career office early. The IT posting asks only that you be a current student. Neither says credit is required, but ask your school what paperwork it needs before you apply.
What Skills Do the Miami Heat Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
Only two internship postings are readable, so we can't count skills across many descriptions. The Content Studio Intern asks for someone organized, tech-savvy and a strong communicator, who can work a flexible schedule with nights, weekends, holidays and game days; the work includes organizing historical footage, logging NBA games, supporting game-night production and archiving media. The IT Service Desk internship lists Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Windows permissions, LAN basics and Microsoft Office/O365, plus first-level help desk and hardware repair.
Note: No skills chart for the Heat. Only two internship descriptions are readable, and a chart from two postings wouldn't describe the program.
How Is Demand for Sales Interns Moving Right Now?
Sales intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 1,421 in August
For Heat applicants: the HEAT Group's board listed 27 openings on 17 Oct 2026, and only two were internships, a content role and an IT role. No sales or partnerships internship is posted yet.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size. Pay = median of employer-published ranges only (90 postings in September, 51 in August).
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill below comes from an open Heat requisition or the 2026 league roster, and maps to a remote Externship you can finish while you apply.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Content and storytelling | Content Studio Intern: organize footage, log games, support game-night production | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Audience and fan insight | Content Studio Intern: shadow community events, interviews and film shoots | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
| Ticket sales and data analytics | 2026 league roster titles: Data Analytics, Ticket Sales, Season Ticket Memberships | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
| AI and technical tooling | Intern, IT: help desk tickets, security response, software updates | Wayfair n8n AI Agent Engineering |
Finish the project while you apply and link it. For a role with a flexible-schedule requirement, a finished piece of work shows you can deliver around a class load.
What Is the Miami Heat Application and Interview Process Like?
The Heat publish part of the process. This is what the board and careers page say:
1. Apply on the HEAT Group board. Use the job board linked from the careers page, and turn on job alerts for the summer league.
2. Screening and tests (IT). The IT posting says qualified applicants take an initial screening interview and written and hands-on tests; finalists come back for a second and final verbal interview.
3. A recorded interview may come. The Heat say that if you're picked for a pre-recorded interview on their video platform, WePow, the email comes from messaging@wepowapp.com.
4. Check every sender. The Heat say real communications come from an address ending in @heat.com and that they never ask for fees or money in advance.
Summer league steps aren't published, so read the requisition when it posts.
What Students on Reddit Say
We found no first-hand Reddit account of a Heat internship. Search results were automated reposts of job ads, so there are no community cards here.
How Do You Stand Out for a Miami Heat Internship?
Three moves. First, get the paperwork done early: the Content Studio role needs official school documentation, which can take a career office days. Second, pick the track and show it. A content applicant with a short edited piece, or a data applicant with a clean ticket-sales analysis, reads very differently from someone who simply loves the Heat. Third, if you're aiming at the summer league, know its format: interns are split into teams, graded by managers and present Teamwork Tuesday projects to HEAT executives (per the league page), so show you work well in a group. The Heat don't publish a league class size, an applicant count or a conversion rate, so we won't estimate any of them.
