Medline runs two internship clocks at once, and most guides only track one. Its MBA and Graduate Internship postings for summer 2027 are already live: four MBA roles in supply chain, product management, corporate finance, and HR went up in early August 2026. The undergraduate program follows Medline's usual pattern instead: campus recruiting begins in the fall semester and typically continues into the spring semester based on openings. For the 2027–2028 cycle (you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027), that means graduate students should apply now and undergrads should watch for postings this fall, about nine to ten months before a June start. Medline backs the pitch with real scale: the nation's largest privately held healthcare products company, with more than 43,000 employees worldwide across 125 countries.

What Is a Medline Internship?

A Medline internship is a paid summer placement inside the nation's largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical-surgical products, a company that supplies more than 125 countries from its Northfield, Illinois headquarters. Undergraduate interns, typically rising juniors, spend 10 weeks in one of six tracks: Product Management, Finance and Accounting, Engineering and Supply Chain, Research and Development, Quality and Regulatory, or Information Systems. Master's students get their own 10-week Graduate Internship Program, and MBA students get a 12-week MBA Internship Program centered on Product Management. Medline's Campus Recruiting page highlights its Forbes 2024 Best Employers For New Grads and Handshake 2025 Early Talent Award recognitions, and past interns describe an "amazing campus, entrepreneurial culture, awesome people" on the company's own recruiting page.

When Do Medline Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Medline runs two calendars, not one. Its MBA and Graduate Internship postings for summer 2027 are already live: four MBA roles (Supply Chain Optimization, Product Management, Corporate Finance, and HR) went up in early August 2026, running 12 weeks for MBA interns and 10 weeks for Master's-level Graduate Internship Program interns. The undergraduate program (Product Management, Finance and Accounting, Engineering and Supply Chain, R&D, Quality and Regulatory, Information Systems) hasn't opened yet. Medline's own FAQ says campus recruitment begins in the fall semester and typically continues into the spring semester based on openings. So a graduate applicant should apply now, while an undergrad should watch for fall 2026 postings, about nine to ten months before a June 2027 start.

Now · Summer 2026YOU ARE HERE

Medline's MBA and Graduate Internship tracks for summer 2027 are posted and open right now: four MBA roles across supply chain, product management, corporate finance, and HR went live in early August 2026. The undergraduate program hasn't opened; campus recruiting starts this fall. Either way, what's finished before the next posting decides whether an application clears the first review.

The Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship and the Beats by Dre Data Analytics Externship are remote, real-company projects that give an application finished work to point at, whichever track you're aiming for.
Early fall 2026

Undergraduates: build the resume line Medline actually screens for, a finished analytical project, a leadership role, or a data build, and watch the Workday careers portal for the Product Management, Finance, Engineering, and IT postings. MBA and Graduate applicants who haven't applied yet should do so now; those postings are already live.

Fall 2026EXPECTEDROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

The undergraduate program is expected to open here, tied to Medline's fall-semester campus recruiting calendar. Medline tells candidates directly to apply as early as possible, since the FAQ says openings continue only "based on openings," not a fixed date.

Winter 2026 to spring 2027EXPECTED

Undergraduate interviews continue on a rolling basis into spring 2027 for whichever roles are still open, per Medline's own recruiting FAQ. MBA and Graduate candidates who applied in August should expect their process, a screen plus one to three interview rounds, to wrap well before this window closes.

Summer 2027

10 weeks for undergraduate and Graduate Internship Program interns (early June to mid-August), 12 weeks for MBA interns. Medline frames the internship as a pipeline into its multi-year Development Programs in Finance, Operations Management, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain Analytics.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Medline doesn't publish a single deadline, and its own language explains why that matters. The FAQ says campus recruiting "continues into the spring semester based on openings" and tells candidates to "apply as early as possible." Read quickly, that sounds relaxed. It isn't: "based on openings" means each track closes the moment it fills, not on a fixed calendar date, so a role posted in September can be gone by November. The MBA and Graduate tracks make the same point more sharply. Four MBA roles went live in early August 2026, and nothing on Medline's page says how many seats each one holds. Apply the week a posting appears, on either track, and you compete against the smallest pool the cycle will ever have.

Which Medline Internship Programs Should You Target?

Medline runs six undergraduate tracks plus two separate advanced-degree programs. Which fits depends on your degree level and major: rising juniors pick a functional track, while MBA and Master's students apply to programs built around their coursework.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Medline's own careers page lists different requirements by degree level:

Enrollment (undergrad): Rising juniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field related to the internship, with one or two full semesters of classes remaining.

Enrollment (MBA/Graduate): Currently pursuing an MBA, generally with 3+ years of prior professional business experience, or a Master's degree placed by functional track.

Experience: Medline's own FAQ asks for "previous internship, extracurricular activities, and/or community service which demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills".

Multiple applications: Allowed, as long as you meet the requirements listed for each role.

Does Medline Have a GPA Cutoff?

Medline's general internship FAQ names no GPA minimum at all, only enrollment status and demonstrated leadership. But individual undergraduate postings tell a different story: the Supply Chain/Inventory Management Intern posting lists "junior standing with 3.0 minimum GPA preferred," pursuing a bachelor's in Supply Chain or Engineering. So there's no company-wide cutoff, but 3.0 is the informal bar on tracks that state one. MBA postings gate differently: 3+ years of professional business experience matters more than a GPA number.

What Skills Does Medline Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Medline doesn't publish one skills list across every track, since Product Management, Finance, Engineering, and IT each ask for different technical tools. But five real 2026-cycle postings agree on the fundamentals. The MBA Product Management posting asks for "strong analytical and problem-solving skills" and the ability to "present to senior management." The Supply Chain posting names "strong leadership abilities," "excellent organization, communication, data analysis and follow up skills," and calls Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure "a plus." Across every track, Medline's own language keeps coming back to analytical thinking and communication before any specific software.

How Is Demand for Healthcare Operations & Medical Device Interns Moving Right Now?

Healthcare & medical device intern hiring right now: August 2026

Across 553 US healthcare-intern postings tracked this month, 137 corporate/business-titled like Medline's product management and supply chain roles · aggregate market data, all employers · baseline month, no prior-month comparison yet

=
Only 137 of 553 healthcare-intern postings (24.8%) are corporate/business-titled like Medline's product management and supply chain roles; the rest are clinical and patient-facing titles
Corporate-track healthcare interns earn a median $45,018/year ($21.64/hr equivalent) among employer-stated salaries, above the $39,491/year median on the clinical-track side
Teamwork and cross-functional collaboration is the top-ranked skill in corporate healthcare intern postings, ahead of stakeholder service and data analysis
=
Healthcare interning is 99.5% on-site nationally, the lowest remote share of any tracked intern-role cluster this month

August 2026 is this tracker's baseline month for healthcare-sector interns, so month-over-month shifts appear at the September update. Right now the signal is direction, not movement: Medline's corporate tracks pay meaningfully above the clinical-intern norm, and teamwork plus analytical thinking are what get an application through the first read.

Method: aggregate analysis of US healthcare, clinical, and medical-device intern postings via Adzuna (700-ad sample, 553 intern-titled), August 2026 baseline. Sample indexes under half of all US postings; figures show direction and relative level, not total market share.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

Every skill in the chart maps to a remote Externship where you finish a real company project before Medline's next posting closes.

The overlap is direct: Medline's own Supply Chain postings ask for exactly the kind of operational analysis the Healthcare Operations Consulting Externship is built around, inside a real healthcare organization.

What Is the Medline Application and Interview Process Like?

Medline's funnel moves quickly. Glassdoor puts the average time to hire for internship roles at about 13 days:

1. Apply through the Workday careers portal linked from Medline's Campus Recruiting page. You can submit multiple applications as long as you meet each role's requirements.

2. Recruiter or HR screen, confirming fit and background. Candidate reports describe two separate interview rounds as typical, with the full process taking one to four weeks depending on the role.

3. Behavioral and case interviews. One candidate described three interviews culminating in a Super Day, including a case question and a Q&A session with the other students interviewing that day. Expect questions about leadership experience, plus some role-specific technical questions in a second round.

4. Decision. Glassdoor's internship reviewers rate difficulty 2.7 out of 5, with a 100% positive experience reported.

There's no single standardized assessment across every track; the Super Day format shows up mainly on sales and commercial roles. Rehearse the behavioral rounds regardless: our HireVue question guide with a free AI mock tool runs the same time pressure.

How Do You Stand Out Across Six Tracks and Two Advanced-Degree Programs?

Three moves. First, know which door you're walking through: undergrad tracks open on Medline's fall campus-recruiting calendar, while MBA and Graduate Internship postings for summer 2027 are already live, so a graduate applicant who waits until fall is behind, not early. Second, lead with leadership evidence over a GPA line. Medline's own FAQ asks for "previous internship, extracurricular activities, and/or community service which demonstrate leadership," and only a handful of specific postings mention a GPA number at all. Third, match your track to a finished project: the MBA posting explicitly wants candidates who can "present to senior management with the purpose of influencing decisions," so walk in with something you've already presented, not just analyzed. No published applicant count or return-offer rate exists for the program; Medline's own framing centers on its Development Programs as the next step after a strong internship, not a stated conversion percentage.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Medline internship?

No, the summer 2026 program has ended. Medline's summer 2027 MBA and Graduate Internship tracks are already posted and open, and the undergraduate program is expected to open with fall 2026 campus recruiting, so apply now for the graduate tracks and watch for undergrad postings this fall.

When do Medline internship applications open for summer 2027?

MBA and Graduate Internship postings for summer 2027 went live in early August 2026 and are open now. The undergraduate program follows Medline's documented pattern: campus recruiting begins in the fall semester and continues into spring 2027 based on which roles remain open.

Is Medline internship hiring rolling?

Effectively yes. Medline's own FAQ says campus recruiting "continues into the spring semester based on openings," with no single stated deadline, and tells candidates to apply as early as possible.

Does Medline require a minimum GPA for internships?

No company-wide minimum is published. Medline's general FAQ names only enrollment status and demonstrated leadership, though specific undergraduate postings like Supply Chain list a preferred 3.0 GPA.

What is the Medline internship interview process like?

A recruiter or HR screen followed by one to three interview rounds, sometimes including a Super Day with a case question and a group Q&A. Glassdoor rates the difficulty 2.7 out of 5 with a 100% positive experience reported, and hiring averages about 13 days.

Do Medline interns get return offers?

Medline publishes no conversion rate. The company frames its internships as a pipeline into multi-year Development Programs in Finance, Operations Management, Quality Engineering, and Supply Chain Analytics rather than stating a percentage.

What skills does Medline look for in interns?

Across five real 2026-cycle postings, analytical and problem-solving skills lead (5 of 5), followed by communication/presentation skills and data analysis (4 of 5 each). Technical asks vary by track: Lean/Six Sigma for Supply Chain and Engineering, SQL and BI tools for Information Systems.

How much does a Medline internship pay?

Real undergraduate postings show $23.25 to $32.50 per hour. Glassdoor's broader intern average across all Medline roles is about $34/hr ($26 to $46/hr range). MBA Interns are posted at $92,000 to $138,000 per year.

MBA and Graduate tracks are open right now, and the undergraduate window follows this fall. Either way, spend the runway building proof: a remote Externship turns "interested in healthcare operations" into a finished project an application can point at.
