Last updated: October 2026

LBMC has no job posting with "intern" in the title. Its internship application is a requisition called the Amplify Summer Leadership Program, which was live on the LBMC job board on October 12, 2026 and says Amplify "serves as our formal application for ALL 2028 internship and full-time opportunities." The dates come from the firm's Handshake listing: apply by October 31, 2026 at 12:59 a.m. for an internship running June 5 to August 11, 2028. That's about 21.5 months between the application opening and the first day. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, you intern in summer 2028.

Nothing for summer 2027 is posted. If you're a sophomore or junior aiming at LBMC, this month's application is the one in front of you.

What Is an LBMC Internship?

An LBMC internship is a paid, full-time, in-person placement at LBMC (Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC), an accounting and advisory firm founded in Nashville in 1984 and headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee. Interns join tax, audit, technology or advisory teams in one of six offices: Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Memphis, Louisville and Philadelphia. The route in is unusual. LBMC's Amplify Summer Leadership Program requisition is the formal application for every 2028 internship and full-time role. Amplify itself is a leadership summit in Nashville, not the internship, and a 2028 offer comes with an invitation to it. LBMC is No. 49 on Vault's current Most Prestigious Accounting Firms list, and the firm's site calls it a Top 40 firm. Its students page says many interns move into full-time roles.

When Do LBMC Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

LBMC's application for summer 2028 internships opened on August 20, 2026, according to a college career-center copy of the Handshake listing. That's about 21.5 months before the June 5, 2028 start. Handshake also gives the apply-by date, October 31, 2026 at 12:59 a.m.; LBMC's own requisition states no deadline and no internship dates, so every date in this section is Handshake's. Nothing for summer 2027 is posted. The calendar has moved between cycles: in February 2025, Auburn's School of Accountancy wrote that Amplify would be held May 19 to 20, 2025 as the application for 2026 roles. So the application for summer 2029 is expected around August to October 2027, and that's a low-confidence projection.

The application for summer 2028 internships is open right now, under the title Amplify Summer Leadership Program. Submit a resume and an unofficial transcript. Nothing for summer 2027 is posted.

Apply first. The internship doesn't start until June 2028, so there's room for a project in between: the Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship or the Hydroficient IoT Cyber Defense Externship gives you finished work to talk about in campus interviews.
October 31, 2026, 12:59 a.m.HARD DEADLINE

Handshake's apply-by date for summer 2028 internships. Treat October 30 as the last full day. The date comes from the Handshake listing; LBMC's own requisition states none.

The summer 2028 internship, full-time and in person in one of six offices (dates from the Handshake listing). The application for summer 2029 is expected around August to October 2027.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

At LBMC the pressure isn't week one. It's a date. Handshake lists the Amplify application with an apply-by of October 31, 2026 at 12:59 a.m., which makes October 30 the last full day. That date isn't in LBMC's own requisition. But a college career-center copy of the listing says recruitment began August 20 and the listing expires October 31, a 72-day window that doesn't look like a job board's default expiry. We found no second application for 2028 internships and nothing at all for summer 2027, so missing this date likely means waiting for the 2029 class. One warning: LBMC's students page still describes the May 2025 summit and says applications "will open early 2025." Ignore those dates and go by the live requisition.

Which LBMC Internship Programs Should You Target?

LBMC runs one application for all of its 2028 internships, plus one separately posted deals internship. Amplify, the summit, is listed last because it isn't an internship.

ProgramWhat it isDatesWho it's for

Amplify Summer Leadership Program (a summit, not an internship)Leadership sessions, Q&A panels, group activities and networking with LBMC leadersMay 2027, NashvilleStudents with a 2028 internship or full-time offer

Both live requisitions are on the LBMC job board. The "Staff Analyst" posting is typed as a full-time role while its description is an internship, so confirm the term with the recruiter. We found no winter or spring busy-season internship posted; the published dates are summer.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The Amplify requisition sets the rules for 2028 internships, and the Handshake listing adds two fields:

• Class year: "Must be a Rising Junior or Senior."

• Major: a degree program in accounting or technology, with MIS degrees preferred. LBMC "will also consider students from finance backgrounds for various advisory services teams."

• Location: you must be able to work full-time on-site in one of the six offices.

• Documents: a resume and an unofficial copy of your transcript.

• GPA: none stated for Amplify. The Transaction Advisory internship asks for a "GPA of 3.5+."

• Work authorization: the Handshake listing shows "US work authorization required" and "Open to candidates with OPT/CPT." The requisition itself says nothing on this, so confirm with the recruiter.

Is There a GPA Cutoff at LBMC?

Not for the main application, at least not in writing. The Amplify requisition names no GPA, but it asks for an unofficial transcript as one of only two documents, so your grades will be read. The one published number is on the Transaction Advisory internship, which asks for a 3.5 or higher along with advanced Excel. If your GPA is below that, the general 2028 application is the better door.

What Skills Does LBMC Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

LBMC's two student requisitions ask for different things. The Amplify application screens on fit more than tools: an accounting or technology degree, junior or senior standing, and the leadership and networking the summit is built around. The Transaction Advisory internship is specific. It wants "advanced Excel skills," prefers "Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI," and describes the work as building "excel-based financial due diligence data books" and assessing "quality of earnings, net working capital, and debt-like items." For technology students, the students page says risk internships go to MIS, information security or computer science majors. Neither requisition names audit or tax software.

For LBMC applicants: LBMC's board carries one application for all 2028 internships, the Amplify Summer Leadership Program requisition, and one Transaction Advisory internship posted as Staff Analyst. Nothing for summer 2027 is posted, so the open application is for summer 2028.

The timing helps here: someone who applies this October won't start until June 2028, which leaves room for more than one eight-week project before the first day.

What Is the LBMC Application and Interview Process Like?

LBMC's students page describes its recruiting process; the current requisition adds the offer step:

1. Meet LBMC on campus. The firm "actively recruits on many campuses in the southeast" and encourages students to attend its campus events and meet their campus recruiter.

2. Apply. The students page says you apply through your school's career services portal, where the listing is titled Amplify Summer Program. The same application is on LBMC's own board. Attach a resume and an unofficial transcript.

3. Campus interview. "If selected to interview, we will first meet with you for campus interviews."

4. Second round onsite. Second-round interviews "take place onsite at LBMC."

5. Offer and Amplify. A 2028 internship or full-time offer includes the invitation to the Amplify summit in Nashville in May 2027.

Interview questions and the number of interviewers aren't published. Our behavioral interview guide covers the kind of questions campus rounds usually ask.

What Students on Reddit Say

Reddit has no first-hand account of interning or interviewing at LBMC. In r/Accounting threads about the Nashville market it's mentioned as a large local firm, with no intern detail, so we haven't built quote cards from them.

How Do You Stand Out for an LBMC Internship?

Three moves. First, apply to Amplify, and do it before October 30. Search LBMC's board for "intern" and you'll find nothing; the Amplify application is the internship application. Have your unofficial transcript ready, since it's one of only two documents asked for. Second, go through your campus. LBMC says first-round interviews happen on campus, so use your school's Handshake and show up at its recruiting events. Third, pick your lane. Accounting majors head for audit and tax. MIS, information security and computer science majors are recruited for risk and technology work. If you want deals work, read the Staff Analyst posting: it's the Transaction Advisory internship, and it asks for a 3.5 GPA and advanced Excel. LBMC publishes no class size, applicant count or conversion rate.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 LBMC internship?

Nothing for summer 2027 is posted. The only student application on LBMC's board is the Amplify Summer Leadership Program requisition, which covers 2028 internships and full-time roles. It's open now, and Handshake lists an apply-by date of October 31, 2026. A Transaction Advisory internship is also posted under the title Staff Analyst, with no dates stated.

When do LBMC internship applications open for summer 2028?

They're open now. A college copy of the Handshake listing says recruitment began August 20, 2026, about 21.5 months before the June 5, 2028 start, and Handshake shows an apply-by date of October 31, 2026. The application for summer 2029 is expected around August to October 2027, a low-confidence projection.

Does LBMC hire interns on a rolling basis?

Not for the main application. Handshake gives the Amplify application a fixed apply-by date of October 31, 2026 at 12:59 a.m., though LBMC's own requisition states no deadline. Treat October 30 as the last day. The Transaction Advisory internship, posted as Staff Analyst, states no dates, so apply early if that's your target.

Is Amplify the LBMC internship?

No. Amplify is a leadership summit in Nashville in May 2027, with panels, group activities and networking. The internship is a separate full-time placement that Handshake dates June 5 to August 11, 2028. One application covers both: LBMC's requisition says a 2028 internship or full-time offer includes the Amplify invitation.

What GPA do you need for an LBMC internship?

The Amplify application names no GPA, but it requires an unofficial transcript, so your grades are read. The Transaction Advisory internship asks for a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Both want juniors or seniors. Amplify asks for accounting or technology majors, with MIS preferred, and considers finance students for some advisory teams.

How much do LBMC interns get paid?

LBMC doesn't publish intern pay. Its requisitions carry no pay figure, and the Handshake listing marks the internship as paid without giving a rate. We haven't filled the gap with third-party salary estimates, because none of them comes from the firm. Ask your campus recruiter about the hourly rate during interviews.

What is the LBMC interview process like?

LBMC's students page describes two rounds. If your application is selected, the firm first meets you for a campus interview. Second-round interviews take place onsite at an LBMC office. The firm also encourages students to attend its campus recruiting events first. Interview questions and the number of interviewers aren't published.

Do LBMC interns get full-time offers?

LBMC doesn't publish a conversion rate. Its students page says many interns transition into full-time roles, and the Transaction Advisory requisition says high performers have a clearly defined path to a full-time offer. Seniors can use the same Amplify application to apply for 2028 full-time roles directly.

LBMC's application for summer 2028 internships closes on Handshake on October 31, 2026, and the internship starts in June 2028. That's a long gap. A remote Externship is one way to use it: a finished modeling, research or security project gives you something concrete for the campus interview.
