Last updated: October 2026
Keysight Technologies has 85 US college internships open right now, and the first summer 2027 posting went up on September 3, 2026. Sixty are in California, 14 in Colorado and six in Texas, across R&D, software, manufacturing, sales, supply chain, IT and services. Fifty-eight postings print an hourly pay range in the posting itself, from $20 to $68.41. There's no single deadline: Keysight hires req by req, and six more went up on October 23. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and the earlier you apply to your specific req, the better.
What Is a Keysight Technologies Internship?
A Keysight internship is a paid placement with a specific team at Keysight Technologies, the Santa Rosa, California test-and-measurement company that spun out of Agilent in 2014. It reported $5.37 billion in revenue for fiscal 2025 (SEC release, November 24, 2025), and its postings cite about 16,800 employees. Interns are hired by requisition, not into one named cohort, and Keysight says it hires "hundreds" of students a year worldwide. Agilent Technologies is a separate company with its own hiring. Keysight doesn't publish a class size or a conversion rate.

When Do Keysight Technologies Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Keysight posts internships team by team, and its own board shows the summer 2027 wave building. The first posting worded for summer 2027 went up on September 3, 2026 (Integrated Photonics Research Intern). Of the 85 college postings, 2 were dated August 14, 36 September and 47 October, with six on October 23 alone. That puts the front edge about 9 months before a June 2027 start and the middle of the wave about 8 months before. Keysight's board only shows open reqs, and an archive of last cycle's board wasn't available, so we can't compare against summer 2026. The September 2027 projection is low confidence.
Applications are open. On October 26, 2026, 85 US college internships were live on Keysight's board, 60 in California and 14 in Colorado. The newest six were posted October 23.
Reqs stay up until filled and no posting prints a closing date. 47 of the 85 appeared in October, so more teams are likely to post. Apply to your req as soon as you see it, and watch for second copies, since some teams post the same role more than once.
Interviews. Keysight publishes no process. Reddit comments describe a conversation about your background, then technical questions for hardware roles or a short coding question for software roles.
Around June 2027 for most reqs, at least 10 consecutive weeks and often about 12. Some roles run 6 to 12 months or through the academic year.
Summer 2028 postings expected, if the 2026 pattern repeats. We have no archive of the prior cycle, so this is low confidence. Watch the board from late August.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Keysight's postings are rolling: no closing dates, and a req stays up until the team fills it. That can mean a role you wanted disappears without notice, particularly in popular R&D teams that hire a handful of interns. Reqs also differ by site, so the Santa Rosa and Colorado Springs versions of a role can fill at different speeds. Apply as soon as a req that fits your major appears, and check the sponsorship line first, since 53 of the 85 postings say visa sponsorship isn't available.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Requirements come from Keysight's students page and the postings we read on October 26, 2026.
• Class year: you must have completed your first year in college or university.
• Degree: pursuing a BA, BS, MS, MBA or PhD in a technical or business curriculum, with "strong academic achievement". No numeric GPA is stated.
• Enrollment: 18 postings say you must be enrolled at an accredited college or university as of September 2027, and that graduates before then aren't considered unless starting a master's or PhD.
• Work authorization: 53 of the 85 postings say visa sponsorship isn't available. Eight carry export-control language saying non-US persons may need a license before access to controlled items.
• Majors named: Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Physics.

Is It Only for Engineers?
No. Keysight's students page lists sales, marketing, services, customer service, finance, HR, legal and communications alongside R&D, and the board has supply chain, IT, sales and marketing internships. Most of the 85 postings are engineering or software, though, so non-engineers should expect fewer openings. Check each posting's sponsorship and export-control lines before you invest time.

Could You Get In at Keysight Technologies? Compare Your Profile
Based on 403 software engineering interns who started their first software internship between 2024 and 2026 (public LinkedIn profiles, aggregated). Six questions, under a minute.
Which summer are you applying for?
Recruiting timelines differ by class year, so we compare you with the right group.
Which group is your school closest to?
Firms recruit on campus in tiers. We match you against admits from schools like yours.
Is your major computer science, software engineering, data science or electrical engineering?
Almost every software intern in our data studied one of these. Other majors get in, but the coursework has to show elsewhere.
How many internships, externships or research positions have you held so far?
Count anything with a real employer, mentor or principal investigator attached. Retail and food service do not count.
Has any of that experience been tech-related?
Software, data, IT, engineering or a research lab. Any size of company counts.
Do you have at least one project on your resume or LinkedIn?
Personal, class, hackathon or open-source projects all count.
Aggregated from public LinkedIn profiles of people who held the internship. No individual profile is shown. Read the cross-industry study of 2,500+ intern profiles.
What Skills Does Keysight Technologies Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
The skills come from the full text of the 85 postings. Python appears in 46 and C++ in 28, with MATLAB in 14. Hardware roles ask for RF or microwave knowledge (24), test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers and signal generators (18), and Verilog, FPGA or ASIC design (11). Machine learning or AI appears in 17, mostly the EDA and software roles. Linux and Excel show up in nine each, so business and IT roles need less tool depth than R&D.
What Keysight Technologies looks for in interns
Skills across 85 Keysight Technologies intern & analyst job descriptions · US college intern postings on jobs.keysight.com, October 2026
Method: keyword count across the full text of the 85 US college intern postings on Keysight's board on October 26, 2026. Postings are per team and several roles repeat across sites, so counts lean toward the R&D templates.
How Is Demand for Electrical Engineering Interns Moving Right Now?
Electrical engineering intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 198 in August
For Keysight applicants: Keysight's own board listed 343 US openings on October 26, 2026, and 87 were intern or apprentice roles, 85 of them college internships posted since August 14.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size. Pay = median of employer-published ranges only (119 postings in September, 36 in August).
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill in the chart maps to a remote Externship you can finish while the postings are still open. Fit is partial, because no open Externship covers RF, IC design or test equipment.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Embedded, IoT and security thinking | Embedded and test-instrument software roles | Hydroficient Advanced: IoT Cyber Defense |
| Python, SQL and data analysis | Data Scientist Intern, EDA AI/ML and process automation roles | SQL & Database Architecture with Breaking Games |
| Operations and supply chain analytics | Supply Chain Analyst Intern: order fulfillment and Excel | Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics |
| Product and go-to-market thinking | Sales Development Engineer, Solutions Engineer and Marketing Coordinator interns | BeReal Product Management |
No open Externship teaches RF, analog design, Verilog or lab instruments, so build those through coursework and lab projects. The Externships above cover the software, data and business roles best.
What Is the Keysight Technologies Application and Interview Process Like?
Keysight doesn't publish its interview stages for interns. This is what its board and the community say.
1. Find the req. Filter jobs.keysight.com by Intern and open the specific posting; there is no general intern pool.
2. Apply. The apply button opens Keysight's iCIMS application.
3. Interview. Keysight publishes no format. One Reddit commenter said the R&D software round was a coding question solved live in VS Code, much easier than LeetCode.
4. Offer and start. Many postings begin in or around June 2027; some run longer.
Keysight publishes no interview questions or timing between steps.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit has little recent Keysight intern discussion, so these cards come from one 2019 r/ECE thread with a later comment, all paraphrased. Treat them as color, not current policy.
A former Keysight firmware engineer says the software in its instruments covers a wide range: standalone simulation, instrument control, embedded GUI software and FPGA firmware. Ask which of these your req means before you prepare.
A hardware intern called their Keysight summer a great experience: kind people and interesting work. They added that they couldn't speak to the software side.
A student preparing for the R&D software internship was told the coding round was one question, talked through and then written in VS Code, and much easier than LeetCode-style practice.
How Do You Stand Out for a Keysight Internship?
First, apply to the exact req and echo its language. Keysight hires team by team, so a resume that names the posting's tools (Python, C++, Verilog, RF test equipment) beats a general one. Second, check your term fit: some reqs are 6 to 9 months or through the academic year, not a 12-week summer. Third, settle the paperwork early. More than half the postings say visa sponsorship isn't available, and eight carry export-control language. Keysight says it hires students into regular jobs "whenever possible", but publishes no class size or conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Keysight internship?
No. Summer 2026 internships ran last summer and are over. Summer 2027 is the cycle open now: 85 US college internship postings were live on Keysight's board on October 26, 2026, the first dated September 3, and new ones were still being added. Apply to a specific req.
When do Keysight internship applications open?
For summer 2027, Keysight posted team by team from August 14, with 36 reqs in September and 47 in October 2026. There's no program-wide opening or closing date. We couldn't recover last cycle's dates, so we expect summer 2028 postings from about September 2027, with low confidence.
How much do Keysight interns get paid?
Fifty-eight of the 85 US postings print an hourly range, from $20 to $68.41, for example $38.31 to $41.25 for a Software Engineering Intern in Calabasas. The other 27 print none. Postings say ranges vary by region and that most offers fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
Is there a deadline for Keysight internships?
No published deadline. No posting carries a closing date, and reqs stay up until the team fills them. Six more went up on October 23, so the board is still growing. Apply as soon as a req fits, since popular R&D roles can fill without notice.
Does Keysight sponsor visas for interns?
Often not. Fifty-three of the 85 US postings say visa sponsorship isn't available, and eight carry export-control language saying non-US persons may need a license before accessing controlled items. Citizenship isn't a blanket requirement, so read the sponsorship line on each posting before applying.
How long are Keysight internships?
At least 10 consecutive weeks per Keysight's students page, and many engineering postings say about 12 weeks. Some run longer: two Santa Clara R&D reqs are 6 to 9 months, process engineering roles are 3 months up to a year, and the Loveland Grid Modernization role is part-time during the academic year.
Is Keysight the same as Agilent?
No. Keysight spun off from Agilent in 2014 and has hired separately since. Agilent Technologies is a different company with its own internships, and this guide covers only Keysight Technologies' US postings, not Keysight roles in Malaysia, Germany, Belgium or elsewhere.
Do Keysight interns get full-time offers?
Keysight's students page says "Whenever possible, we hire students into regular jobs after graduation," but it doesn't publish a conversion rate. Its board also lists new-graduate roles tagged Campus. Treat any percentage you see on job-board or review sites as unverified.
Apply to the exact req that fits your major this week, and check its term and sponsorship line first. While you wait, a remote Externship gives you a finished project to talk about in the interview.
