Its summer 2027 internships are open now: on October 5, 2026 its US job board listed six intern roles, posted between September 3 and 29, 2026, each starting in early June 2027. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, you intern in summer 2027.
Every posting prints its pay, from $20 an hour for the Chicago underwriting intern to $30 to $42 an hour for actuarial interns. There's no deadline to wait for: each posting says it stays up until a final candidate is selected and is then removed. If you're looking for co-ops at Intact in Canada, those run on a separate site and calendar.
What Is an Intact Insurance Internship?
An Intact Insurance internship in the US is a full-time, paid summer placement at Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions, a specialty commercial insurer based in Plymouth, Minnesota and owned by Canada's Intact Financial Corporation. Interns join one team, such as corporate actuarial, catastrophe risk, investments, finance, IT or management liability underwriting, and "typically perform some of the work" of an entry-level professional, according to the postings. The students page says interns also present a Business Solutions Project. The company was called OneBeacon until Intact renamed it in 2020, and its US board still runs under the OneBeacon account. It writes 13 specialty lines in the US, from management liability to ocean marine and surety.
When Do Intact Insurance Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions posted its summer 2027 internships across September 2026: actuarial on September 3, finance and accounting on September 10, investment on September 11, catastrophe risk on September 15, IT on September 25 and management liability underwriting on September 29. That's about eight to nine months before the early-June start. We couldn't date last cycle's summer wave, so the September pattern rests on this year alone. One sign that roles keep coming: last cycle a university board listed an Intact underwriting internship on March 9, 2026. Applications for summer 2028 are expected around September 2027.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

• Degree: working toward a bachelor's in a matching field: actuarial science, math or statistics (actuarial); math, statistics, economics, data science, risk management or natural sciences (catastrophe risk); finance, economics or business (investment); accounting or finance (finance); risk management, insurance or business (underwriting); some computer science coursework (IT).
• Graduation date: actuarial wants December 2027 or later; catastrophe risk wants spring 2027 or later.
• GPA: none of the six postings states one.
• Work authorization: the postings don't mention visa sponsorship, so ask the recruiter before applying if you'll need it.
• Availability: full time from early June 2027 on a hybrid schedule; the underwriting role mentions business travel.
Does Intact Have a GPA Cutoff?
Not on its summer 2027 postings. None of the six names a GPA; they screen on major, graduation date and skills instead. Watch the graduation line on the actuarial role: older copies of that posting on job aggregators say "December 2026 or later", but the live posting says December 2027 or later, so a student graduating in 2026 no longer qualifies.

What Is the Intact Insurance Application and Interview Process Like?
Intact doesn't publish its US intern interview steps. Here's what its board and postings show:
1. Find the US board. Use the US job board linked from the students page; Intact's Canadian student site lists Canadian co-ops, not these roles.
2. Apply to each role separately. Each posting is one role on one team in one office.
3. Check the gates. Major and graduation date are the main filters, especially the December 2027 or later line on the actuarial role.
4. Interviews. Intact doesn't describe its US intern rounds, and we found no first-hand US account. Prepare behavioral examples and role basics, such as SQL for IT or credit analysis for investment.
5. Offer. The posting comes down once the final candidate is selected.

A former IT intern in Canton, Massachusetts described plenty of projects, a supportive team and the chance to learn across teams, and noted that many colleagues had been with the company since its OneBeacon days.
How Do You Stand Out for an Intact Insurance Internship?
Three moves. First, apply now. The postings come down when filled, and the actuarial role has been up since early September. Second, match the role's tools. Show exam progress and spreadsheet modeling for actuarial, a statistics or data project for catastrophe risk, VBA or Python for investment, and written SQL queries for IT. Third, show care with detail. Five of the six postings ask for attention to detail, so one concrete example, such as a reconciliation you caught or a dataset you cleaned, carries weight. Intact publishes no applicant count or conversion rate for its US program.
