The Indiana Pacers are hiring interns right now. As of 17 October 2026, Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PS&E), the company behind the Pacers, the WNBA's Indiana Fever and Gainbridge Fieldhouse, has nine Spring 2027 internships open on its job board: corporate partnerships, ticket sales, ticket analytics, game operations, fan engagement, merchandising and three digital roles. All run from January to May 2027, on site in Indianapolis, and the team's careers page says every internship is paid and that interns must earn credit from their college or university.
No posting states a deadline, so apply now rather than wait. The Pacers hire in three short terms a year (fall, spring and summer), about three to four months ahead. Summer 2027 roles aren't posted yet; we expect them around January to March 2027. In plain words, you apply in the fall for the spring term, and in winter for the summer term. Start on the PS&E job board.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, and you can start one this month while you apply. The Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship builds the campaign and presentation skills behind partnership and marketing roles, and the Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy Externship builds the sales-data skills behind ticket analytics and merchandising.
What Is an Indiana Pacers Internship?
An Indiana Pacers internship is a paid, for-credit placement of one academic term with Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PS&E), the company that runs the Pacers, the Indiana Fever, the Noblesville Boom and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Each role is its own requisition with its own hours, from about 15 to 40 a week, based at the Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Because PS&E also runs the Fever and the Boom, several roles cover their home games too.
Pacers internships are for people in school: all nine Spring 2027 postings require you to be enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student. Part-time seasonal jobs on the same board, such as brand ambassador or retail associate, are employee jobs, not internships.

When Do Indiana Pacers Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The Pacers post internships term by term, on a lead of about three to four months. The Spring 2027 roles, which start in January, appeared on TeamWork Online between 17 September and 13 October 2026, per its listing data (several look like reposts of earlier HRM Direct postings, and PS&E doesn't show posting dates on its own board). The Fall 2026 Corporate Partnerships role was listed on 15 June 2026, about three months before a September start, and was down nine days later.
We have no dated record of an earlier summer posting on PS&E's own pages, so the summer 2027 window is a low-confidence estimate: roughly January to March 2027, ahead of a May start. Check the board monthly from January.
Spring 2027 applications are open. Nine intern roles are live on PS&E's job board for the January to May 2027 term, and no posting states a deadline. Nothing on the board promises a role will wait, so apply to the ones that fit now.
Confirm with your school that you can earn credit, since PS&E requires it, and check your class schedule against the posted hours (about 15 to 40 a week). Apply to two or three roles that fit rather than one.
Summer 2027 internships (May to August) are expected to post. This is a low-confidence estimate: we have no dated summer posting on PS&E's own pages, only the three-to-four-month lead on the spring and fall roles. Apply in the first week once they appear.
Fall 2027 internships (September to December) are expected to post, based on the Fall 2026 Corporate Partnerships role listed on 15 June 2026.
Spring interns start in January 2027 and finish in May; summer interns would run May to August. PS&E doesn't publish a conversion rate.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
PS&E's postings state no deadlines, so the Pacers' pattern is rolling in practice, but a role can still disappear quickly. TeamWork Online's listing data shows the Fall 2026 Corporate Partnerships internship up for nine days (15 to 24 June 2026), and most Spring 2027 TeamWork listings carry a flat 30-day window (for example 17 September to 17 October), which looks like the board's default and not a PS&E deadline. The Basketball Analytics internship appeared only on TeamWork Online and is no longer open.
Two things slow people down. Your school must grant academic credit, which can take paperwork, and the roles ask for different hours, so work out your class schedule first. Apply in the first week of any window.
Which Indiana Pacers Internship Programs Should You Target?
PS&E runs a department-based program: each role has its own requisition, hours and skills. These are the Spring 2027 tracks.

|---|---|---|---|
| Corporate Partnerships | Sponsor activations at Pacers and Fever home games, recap presentations | About 30 to 40 | Junior, senior or graduate student; Microsoft Office; lift heavy items |
| Ticket Sales | Lead research, data entry in Excel and Archtics, shadowing sales reps | About 20 to 25, or 40 | Wants a career in ticket sales; evenings and weekends; work games |
| Ticket Analytics | Dynamic pricing analysis, dashboards, projection models | About 25 to 30 | STEM or quantitative business major; Excel; Python, SQL and Power BI preferred |
| Digital Content, Video/Photography, Digital Marketing (Events) | Social copy, game photo and video, email campaigns | About 15 to 25 | Strong writing; Adobe Photoshop or Premiere; nights and weekends at games |
| Game Operations and Fan Engagement | Mascots, concourse set-up, giveaways, Fan Van activations | About 20 to 25 | Valid driver's license; sports or business majors preferred |
| Merchandising & Retail | Team store operations, e-commerce, inventory | About 30 to 40 | Excel emphasis; stand for long periods; lift up to 20 pounds |
Live listings appear on the PS&E job board and the TeamWork Online page. A Basketball Analytics internship (Python, SQL and Power BI) was listed on TeamWork Online from 17 September to 17 October 2026 and is no longer open.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Eligibility is unusually uniform across the Spring 2027 postings:
• Enrollment: all nine postings require you to be enrolled in a college or university program as a junior, senior or graduate student. The Ticket Sales posting adds that you must be taking courses while you intern.
• Academic credit: the careers page says interns must receive credit from their college or university.
• Majors and experience: Game Operations prefers sports marketing or sports management majors, Fan Engagement prefers business or sports majors with fan-facing experience, and Ticket Analytics wants a STEM major or a business major with a quantitative focus.
• Skills: Microsoft Office in six of the nine postings, Adobe tools for the digital roles, and a valid driver's license for Game Operations and Fan Engagement.
• Location and hours: on site in Indianapolis, with game nights, evenings and weekends in most roles.
• GPA and work authorization: not stated in the postings we read.

Do You Really Need Academic Credit?
Yes, according to PS&E's careers page: interns must receive credit from their college or university. The Ticket Sales posting also says that if you want an internship only to fulfill credits, you should look elsewhere, so you need credit and a real interest in the work. Ask your school how credit works before you apply.
What Skills Do the Indiana Pacers Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
The Pacers' Spring 2027 postings are about showing up on game nights and handling a mix of tasks. All nine require junior, senior or graduate standing, eight involve game-night, evening or weekend work, and seven ask for written or verbal communication. The technical bar is modest: Microsoft Office in six and Adobe photo or video tools in the three digital roles. Ticket Analytics is the quantitative one, asking for Excel and analytical skills, with Python, SQL and a dashboard tool such as Power BI preferred.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each row pairs a line from a Pacers posting with a remote Externship that builds the same skill.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Recap decks and partner activation | Corporate Partnerships: "Assist in the creation of recap presentations following events and at the end of the season" | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Social and digital content | Digital Content: "Assist in the copywriting of social captions" | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
| Dashboards from warehouse data | Ticket Analytics: "Create dashboards that display pertinent data to managers" | Wayfair n8n AI Agent Engineering |
| E-commerce and inventory | Merchandising & Retail: "e-commerce processes, customer inquiries, fulfillment, receiving, and inventory control" | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
| Fan and consumer insight | Fan Engagement: "Effectively engage with current and prospective fans using promotional strategies" | Consumer Behavior Insights with Generous Brands |
A finished project also gives you something to talk about besides being a fan, which every sports applicant is.
What Is the Indiana Pacers Application and Interview Process Like?
PS&E doesn't publish interview stages, so this is what the postings and careers page make clear:
1. Pick your roles. Open PS&E's job board and look at the intern roles; TeamWork Online mirrors most of them.
2. Confirm credit with your school. PS&E requires interns to receive credit.
3. Apply on the posting. Use "START YOUR APPLICATION" on the HRM Direct posting, or "Apply Now" on the TeamWork Online copy.
4. Interview. The format isn't published; the Ticket Sales posting says it's selective and wants coachable, competitive people.
5. Plan your hours. Spring runs January to May, at about 15 to 40 hours a week, with game nights built in.
Fever fans: PS&E also runs the Indiana Fever, and the Corporate Partnerships, Digital Content and Game Operations postings cover Fever and Boom home games. They are PS&E internships, not a separate Fever program.
What Students on Reddit Say
We found no first-hand accounts of Pacers internships on Reddit. The only team-specific thread, a 2024 data science post, was a job-board promotion with thank-you replies, and the r/sports_jobs results were automated reposts of postings. We've left the cards out rather than pad this section.
How Do You Stand Out for a Pacers Internship?
Three moves.
First, match the hours to your schedule and apply early. The same board posts 15-hour and 40-hour roles, and Spring 2027 is open with no stated deadline, so a polished application this week beats a perfect one in December.
Second, show career intent for your track. The Ticket Sales posting wants people who want a sales career, Corporate Partnerships wants recap decks, Digital Content wants writing samples, and Ticket Analytics wants Excel plus Python or SQL. Bring a sample that matches.
Third, handle credit early. PS&E requires it, and your school may need forms. PS&E doesn't publish class size or a conversion rate, so treat the term as experience and a way to meet staff.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Indiana Pacers internship?
No. Summer 2026 ended in August, and PS&E's board now lists Spring 2027 roles only. Nine Spring 2027 internships are open as of 17 October 2026, and summer 2027 roles are expected to post around January to March 2027. Check the board monthly from January.
Are Indiana Pacers internships open right now?
Yes. As of 17 October 2026, Pacers Sports & Entertainment has nine Spring 2027 internships open on its job board, running January to May 2027 in Indianapolis. They cover corporate partnerships, ticket sales, ticket analytics, game operations, fan engagement, merchandising and three digital roles. No posting states a deadline.
When do Pacers summer 2027 internships open?
Expect about January to March 2027, though that's a low-confidence estimate. PS&E posts term by term: the Fall 2026 Corporate Partnerships role went up in June 2026 and the Spring 2027 roles in September and October, three to four months ahead. Check monthly from January.
Are Pacers internships paid?
Yes. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse careers page says all PS&E internships are paid, but no posting publishes an hourly rate, and we left out third-party estimates. Interns must also receive academic credit from their college or university, so check with your school before you apply.
Who can apply for a Pacers internship?
Students enrolled as juniors, seniors or graduate students; all nine Spring 2027 postings say so, and your school must grant credit. Freshmen, sophomores and people who aren't enrolled don't qualify for the roles we read. The Ticket Sales posting also wants real interest in a sales career.
How many hours a week do Pacers interns work?
It depends on the role. Spring 2027 postings range from about 15 to 20 hours (Digital Marketing, Events) to about 40, which Ticket Sales offers as an option and Merchandising and Corporate Partnerships reach at the top of 30 to 40. Game nights, evenings and weekends are part of most roles.
Do the Pacers hire interns for the Indiana Fever too?
PS&E runs both teams, and several internships cover Fever home games as well. The Corporate Partnerships posting names Fever and Pacers home games, and the Digital Content and Game Operations postings name Fever and Boom games. They are PS&E internships, not a separate Fever program.
Do Pacers interns get a full-time offer?
PS&E doesn't publish a conversion rate or class size. The Ticket Sales posting calls its internship a launching point for a career in sports ticket sales, but nothing we found promises a role afterward. Treat the term as experience and networking.
Spring 2027 roles are open now and the Pacers start the term in January. Don't wait on the summer wave: a remote Externship gives you a finished project to put next to your application.
