The Houston Texans hire interns once a year into a year-long, in-office program they call the Draft Class, and the 2026 class was paid a non-negotiable $15 an hour. In plain words: you apply around January 2027, the 2027–28 class starts around June 2027, and it runs to about May 2028.

As of 17 October 2026 no Draft Class internship is posted on the Texans' TeamWork Online page. The board lists five jobs and one internship, a Community Engagement & Operations Intern for LOVB Houston, a professional volleyball team whose postings appear on the Texans' account. The 2026 Draft Class postings appeared around mid-January 2026, so use this winter to prepare.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, and unlike the Texans' year-long class you can start one this month. What Is a Houston Texans Internship?

A Houston Texans internship is a paid, year-long, full-time placement in the NFL club's Houston offices, hired through what the team calls its Draft Class program. The Texans' employment page describes the program as a way for future sports professionals to get hands-on experience across the organization. Each class is a handful of single-department roles: the last two cycles posted six each, covering communications, video, partnerships, ticketing, event experience and photography or website work.

Interns work in the Club offices on a schedule that includes weekends, evenings and holidays. The Texans are the employer on every Draft Class posting. LOVB Houston roles on the same account belong to the volleyball team, and game day part-time jobs hired through the team's Staff Draft job fair are a separate route; neither is a Texans internship.

When Do Houston Texans Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

The Texans run one Draft Class intake a year, and the last two landed in winter. Six year-long internship postings were on the Texans' employment page by 18 February 2025 and six more by 1 February 2026. The Ticketing Intern posting, archived on 4 February 2026, showed an age of three weeks, which puts it at roughly mid-January 2026. It asked for availability from approximately June 2026 through May 2027, a lead of about five months from posting to start.

That's two cycles in the same month, so confidence is medium. Neither year's postings stated a close date, and the Texans haven't announced 2027 dates.

No Draft Class internship is posted. The 2026 class is mid-term and runs to about May 2027, and the board's only internship belongs to LOVB Houston. This is the window to build proof before the winter postings.

January 2027EXPECTED

Draft Class postings for the 2027–28 class are expected, based on mid-January 2026 and by 18 February 2025. No close date was stated last time, so apply in the first week a role appears.

February to May 2027EXPECTED

Selection happens. The Texans don't publish an interview process, and the postings say a Human Resources representative will contact you directly without status updates.

June 2027 to May 2028

The 2027–28 class works full time in the Houston offices. The postings say there is no guarantee of a full-time offer at the end of the term.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

We found no closing date on any Draft Class posting, so we can't call this a hard deadline or prove it's rolling; the 2026 postings simply ended in TeamWork's closed state. The safe plan is to apply in the first week. The Texans post about six roles a year, one per department, and the postings give Houston-area addresses first consideration.

The year-long term also needs lead time. It's full time at $15 an hour with no relocation help, so sort out housing and a start date before January, not after an offer.

Which Houston Texans Internship Programs Should You Target?

These are the Draft Class roles the Texans posted in 2025 and 2026; the list shifts a little each year.

Live listings appear on the Texans TeamWork Online page and the employment page. LOVB Houston's Community Engagement & Operations Intern (hybrid, tagged "Paid Internship", pay figure not stated) is open now, but it belongs to the volleyball team.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

The only Draft Class posting we read in full, the 2026 Ticketing Intern, sets these requirements, and other roles may add their own:

• Education: a high school diploma is required and a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university is preferred.

• Location: candidates with permanent addresses in the Houston metro area and surrounding areas get first consideration whenever possible.

• Experience: previous sports-industry or customer-service experience is preferred, along with Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Schedule: full time and year-long, including weekends, evenings and holidays, in the Club offices.

• GPA and work authorization: not stated in the text we read.

Do You Have to Be a Student?

No enrollment requirement appears in the 2026 Ticketing text, which asks for a high school diploma and prefers a bachelor's degree. So recent graduates can apply as well as students who can commit to a full-time year. The catch is the schedule: it runs about June to May, so a current student would need to take a year out of school or apply after graduating. Check each posting, because other roles may differ.

What Skills Do the Houston Texans Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

The 2026 Ticketing Intern posting asks for organization and time management, written and verbal communication, confidentiality, customer service and Microsoft Office. The LOVB Houston posting adds grassroots marketing, event execution and knowledge of volleyball. Ticketing work is the most concrete: renewals, payment plans, invoices and pricing reports. We could read only two Texans intern postings in full, too few for a skill-count chart.

Note: Skill-frequency chart left out: only two Texans intern postings (the 2026 Ticketing Intern and the LOVB Houston intern) could be read in full, below our five-posting minimum.

For Texans applicants: the Texans' board lists no Draft Class internship today, and last cycle's roles went up around mid-January, so the useful move is to build marketing, partnership and ticketing proof this fall and apply the week the postings appear.

What Is the Houston Texans Application and Interview Process Like?

The Texans don't publish an interview process, so this is what the postings show:

1. Watch TeamWork Online. Draft Class and LOVB Houston postings both appear on the Texans' TeamWork page, which the employment page embeds.

2. Apply on the posting. "Apply Now" runs through TeamWork, and the 2026 Ticketing application included questions such as a time you helped someone with technology.

3. Wait for Human Resources. The posting says a Human Resources representative will contact you directly and that the team doesn't give status updates.

4. Interview and offer. The format isn't published.

Gameday part-time jobs run through a separate Staff Draft job fair and aren't part of this process.

What Students on Reddit Say

We found only one usable first-hand thread, and it's old: a 2012 AMA by a former scouting-department video editor, from before the Draft Class program existed.

A former Texans scouting-department video editor said he showed the team his portfolio, was hired as an intern first and was then promoted to full time. It's one 2012 account from before the Draft Class, so treat it as color, not a process guide.

How Do You Stand Out for a Houston Texans Internship?

Three moves.

First, be ready before January. Have your TeamWork profile, alert and resume set, and a customer-service story prepared: the 2026 Ticketing application asked for one. Postings gave no close date, so apply in the first week.

Second, show you can commit. The term is full time for about a year at $15 an hour, the Texans give Houston-area addresses first consideration, and there is no relocation support. Say plainly where you'll live and when you can start.

Third, treat it as experience, not a job guarantee. The posting says the position is temporary with no guarantee of a full-time offer, and the Texans don't publish a class size or conversion rate, so network across departments while you're there.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Houston Texans internship?

No. The Texans' internship is the year-long Draft Class, and the 2026 class started around June 2026 and runs to about May 2027, with its postings closed. As of 17 October 2026 no Draft Class internship is posted. The 2027–28 class is expected to post around January 2027.

When do Houston Texans internship applications open?

Expect Draft Class postings around January 2027. The 2026 postings appeared around mid-January 2026, and six year-long roles were already up by 18 February 2025. Neither cycle stated a close date, so apply in the first week. These dates are expected from two cycles, not announced.

Are Houston Texans internships paid?

Yes. The 2026 Ticketing Intern posting says the position pays a non-negotiable $15 an hour and doesn't qualify for relocation. We read that one posting in full, so we can't confirm the rate for the other Draft Class roles. The LOVB Houston intern is tagged paid with no figure.

How long is a Houston Texans internship?

About a year. The 2026 postings asked for availability from approximately June 2026 through May 2027, full time, including weekends, evenings and holidays. If the 2027–28 class follows the same pattern, expect a start near June 2027 and an end near May 2028. That term is expected, not confirmed.

Do you have to be a student to intern with the Texans?

Not according to the 2026 Ticketing Intern text, which requires a high school diploma and prefers a bachelor's degree, with no enrollment requirement. Houston-area addresses get first consideration. Because the term is full time for a year, current students would need time out of school.

Can a Texans intern get a full-time job offer?

Not as a promise. The 2026 posting says the role is a temporary position with no guarantee of a full-time offer after May 2027. The Texans don't publish an intern-to-full-time conversion rate, so treat the year as paid experience and a chance to meet staff across departments.

Is the LOVB Houston internship a Texans internship?

No. LOVB Houston is a professional volleyball team, and its Community Engagement & Operations Intern is posted on the Texans' TeamWork account. It was open on 17 October 2026, hybrid and tagged paid, but it isn't an NFL or Draft Class role and the dates and pay figure aren't stated.

Where do I apply for a Houston Texans internship?

On the Houston Texans page on TeamWork Online, which the Texans' employment page links and embeds. Create a profile, turn on job alerts and click Apply Now on a posting. Gameday part-time jobs are different: they run through the team's Staff Draft job fair, not TeamWork internship postings.

The Texans' Draft Class postings are about three months away and give no deadline. Use the time well: a remote Externship gives you a finished project to put next to your availability for a year in Houston.
