Last updated: October 2026
Epsilon, the marketing data company Publicis Groupe bought in 2019 for $4.40 billion in total cash, has three summer 2027 internships open on its job board right now. Two are Software Engineering Internships, in Chicago and Irving, Texas, paying $32 an hour. The third is a Strategy and Informatics Intern role in Chicago at $25 an hour. All three say Epsilon anticipates the application deadline will be October 15, 2026.
So the window is short. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and for these three roles that means applying in the next two weeks.

What Is an Epsilon Internship?
An Epsilon internship is a paid, 11-week summer placement at Epsilon, the data, technology and marketing services company inside Publicis Groupe, headquartered in Irving, Texas. Interns join a team, get a mentor, train with their intern class and present their results at the end. Epsilon has run the program since 2012, and its 2024 class had 70 interns, 54 undergraduates and 16 PhD candidates.
It isn't a creative agency internship. Epsilon builds customer data, identity, loyalty and ad technology for large brands, so its engineering interns work on large-scale data products. Its strategy interns turn audience data into campaign recommendations.

When Do Epsilon Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
Epsilon's FAQ says intern applications are open from September to November, and the summer 2027 wave started on schedule. The two Software Engineering Internships posted on September 8, 2026 and the Strategy and Informatics role on September 15. Since our 27 September check, Epsilon has retitled the engineering roles to "Software Engineering Internship - Summer 2027", so the target summer is now printed on the posting.
Fall may not be the only wave. Epsilon's recruiting VP told Adweek in 2022 that fall hiring covers specific technical roles and that a majority of seats "might get filled in the spring", and last cycle's Software Engineer Intern reqs appeared on a university job board in late March 2026.
Applications for summer 2027 are open right now for three roles: Software Engineering Internship (Chicago and Irving) and Strategy and Informatics Intern (Chicago). You can apply to more than one.
Anticipated application deadline for all three summer 2027 roles, stated in each req. Epsilon could extend it, but plan as if it holds.
Epsilon's stated intern window runs through November, so more summer 2027 roles may post. Interviews run in two virtual rounds, and Epsilon told Adweek the process takes about a month.
Spring adds for summer 2027 are expected, based on last cycle's late-March Software Engineer Intern postings. Check the board again if you missed October.
The 11-week program starts in May or June, hybrid with at least two office days a week. Full-time offers come at the end of the summer for eligible interns.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
Each of Epsilon's live intern reqs carries the same line: "The Company anticipates the application deadline for this job posting will be 10/15/2026." That's a hard deadline in practice, two weeks from today.
There's a nuance. The deadline field is batch-set across Epsilon's US postings (a June req carries a November date), so extensions are possible. Nothing on the posting promises one, so apply now, and if you miss it, watch for November and March postings rather than assuming this window reopens.
Which Epsilon Internship Programs Should You Target?
Epsilon runs one Intern Program with role-specific postings:
| Track | Focus | Term | Key details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software Engineering Internship (Chicago) | Software development, data engineering, cloud and infrastructure, product engineering | 11 weeks, summer 2027 | $32/hr; anticipated deadline Oct 15, 2026; hybrid 2 days |
| Software Engineering Internship (Irving, TX) | Same scope, at Epsilon's headquarters | 11 weeks, summer 2027 | $32/hr; anticipated deadline Oct 15, 2026 |
| Strategy and Informatics Intern (Chicago) | Campaign strategy, audience insights and segmentation, messaging, performance reporting | 11 weeks, summer 2027 | $25/hr; anticipated deadline Oct 15, 2026; marketing, business, psychology or analytics majors |
| Other tracks (not live) | Past cycles: business systems analyst, account management, IT, recruiting; PhD data science and data visualization | Summer | May post later in fall or spring |
See all open roles on Epsilon's job board and the program FAQ on the Early Careers page.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Epsilon's FAQ and the live reqs set these gates:
• Class year: you must be a current student, and Epsilon accepts students going into their final year of studies. Earlier-year openings are possible only where a posting says so.
• Degree: the strategy role requires a bachelor's in progress in marketing, communications, business, advertising, psychology, analytics or a related field. For engineering, a CS-type major is listed as a plus, not a requirement.
• GPA: none stated in the live reqs or the FAQ.
• Visa sponsorship: limited, and Epsilon says it usually applies to more senior roles.

Do You Need a Computer Science Degree for the Engineering Internship?
Not strictly. The engineering reqs list a bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, data engineering or IT under "Why You Might Stand Out", which is a preference. What they require is a foundation in technical problem-solving, communication and familiarity with tools like Python, Java, C++, JavaScript or SQL. Epsilon's FAQ also says your full resume is reviewed, not just your major.
What Skills Does Epsilon Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
We read five Epsilon intern job descriptions: the three live summer 2027 reqs plus two from earlier cycles (a summer 2026 Software Engineer Intern posting and a Recruiting Intern posting).
Learning and teamwork. Every one asks for a desire to learn and a team-oriented approach, and four ask for strong communication. Technical stack. The three engineering postings list Python, Java or C++, SQL and databases, and Agile practices. Turning data into recommendations. The strategy role centers on research, audience segmentation and reporting, and three postings ask interns to present results.

How Is Demand for Software Engineering Interns Moving Right Now?
Software engineer intern postings · Sep vs Aug 2026
vs 790 in August
Most software intern postings for summer 2027 went up in September, so October deadlines like Epsilon's are common. Apply this month, not next spring.
Daily US job-posting counts, Sep 1–30 vs Aug 1–31, 2026. Covers under half of US postings; shows direction, not market size.
Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill in the chart maps to a remote Externship you can start while your application is in review.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Software and data engineering | Engineering reqs: Python, Java, C++, SQL; databases, APIs, cloud and data-processing tools | Wayfair n8n AI Agent Engineering |
| SQL and database design | Engineering reqs list SQL and databases under technical experience | Breaking Games SQL Database Architecture |
| Campaign strategy and messaging | Strategy req: audience segmentation, messaging, campaign planning | TikTok Social Media Content & Brand Strategy |
| Research to recommendations | Strategy req: "Translate data and insights into clear, actionable recommendations" | Breaking Games E-Commerce Data Analysis & Strategy |
A finished project helps here: the strategy req invites "a portfolio, case study, or class project", and engineering interviewers ask about projects you've built.
What Is the Epsilon Application and Interview Process Like?
Epsilon describes a short process, though experiences vary by team:
1. Apply online. Use Epsilon's job board or your school's board if the role is listed there. You can apply to more than one role.
2. First interview. A virtual round, usually with a recruiter or the hiring team.
3. Second interview. Another virtual round. Creative roles may ask for a portfolio, Epsilon told Adweek in 2022.
4. Offer. Epsilon told Adweek the process takes about a month on average.
Processes do vary: one Auburn engineering intern wrote of three interviews, the last lasting four hours. Plan for two rounds, but be ready for more.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit has little on Epsilon's intern program itself, and most of what exists is about working there.
A student in Epsilon's software intern process in November 2024 said they couldn't find any interview reports or past intern experiences online, and wondered if the program was new. It isn't, but the public footprint is thin.
In a March 2026 thread, a former creative employee said Epsilon was fun before the Publicis purchase, and a current engineer said workloads grew after the integration. Another commenter mentioned layoffs that month.
An older Dallas thread was split: one commenter pointed to frequent team events at the Irving office, while a former software employee left within a year. The shared point was that experience depends on the team.
How Do You Stand Out at Epsilon?
Epsilon doesn't publish an applicant count, so we won't guess one. What it has published is a strong conversion signal: about 70% of interns received full-time offers, Epsilon told Adweek in 2022. That's dated, and no newer figure exists. Three moves help.
First, know what Epsilon is. It's a data and identity company, not a creative shop, so be ready to talk about first-party data, audience segmentation and loyalty programs. Second, bring a project. The strategy req asks for a portfolio, case study or class project, and engineering interviews lean on what you've built.
Third, apply through your school's job board if Epsilon posts there, since its FAQ recommends that route. And apply to every track that fits, which Epsilon explicitly allows.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Epsilon internship?
No. Summer 2026 is over, and Epsilon is now hiring for summer 2027. Three roles are open: Software Engineering Internship in Chicago and Irving, and Strategy and Informatics Intern in Chicago. Each says Epsilon anticipates the application deadline will be October 15, 2026, so apply now rather than waiting.
When do Epsilon internship applications open?
Epsilon says intern applications are open from September to November. For summer 2027 the first roles posted on September 8 and 15, 2026, with an anticipated deadline of October 15, 2026. More roles may post in spring; last cycle's software intern reqs appeared in late March 2026.
How much do Epsilon interns make?
Epsilon's own summer 2027 reqs list $32 an hour for the Software Engineering Internship and $25 an hour for the Strategy and Informatics Intern. Pay is a flat hourly rate per role, not a range. The engineering rate matches last cycle's Software Engineer Intern posting, which also listed $32 an hour.
How long is the Epsilon internship, and is it remote?
It runs 11 weeks in summer, typically starting in May or June, and Epsilon has said PhD interns may stay 12 weeks. It's hybrid: the live reqs expect two days a week in the office, and the FAQ says at least two days a week, though it may vary by team.
Who can apply for an Epsilon internship?
Current students, and by default those going into their final year of studies, unless a posting opens it to earlier years. The strategy role requires a marketing, business, communications, advertising, psychology or analytics major or similar. Engineering prefers computer science and related majors but reviews your whole resume.
Does Epsilon sponsor visas for interns?
Rarely. Epsilon's FAQ says there are limited opportunities for visa sponsorship, that they depend on the department, and that they usually apply to more senior roles. If you'll need sponsorship, ask the recruiter early in the process and keep other applications going at the same time.
Do Epsilon interns get full-time offers?
Many do. Epsilon told Adweek in 2022 that about 70% of interns received full-time offers by the end of the program, and returning graduates can join its New Grad Program, which onboards in February and July. Epsilon hasn't published a newer conversion figure, so treat 70% as a dated signal.
What is the Epsilon interview process like?
Usually two rounds of virtual interviews, according to Epsilon's FAQ. Creative roles may require a portfolio, and Epsilon told Adweek the process takes about a month. Individual experiences vary: one past engineering intern described three interviews, including a final round that lasted four hours.
Epsilon's summer 2027 deadline is close. Apply before October 15, 2026, then use the months before interviews to finish a remote Externship that gives you a project to talk through.
