In the US, DHL isn't one internship program but three, run by separate DHL Group companies on separate job boards. DHL Supply Chain, which calls itself the world's No. 1 contract logistics provider, runs a 10 to 12 week summer program built around a group capstone, and its pooled US intern req pays "$24.00 per hour or site dependent". Both it and DHL Consulting's 2027 Visiting Consultant summer internship in Plantation, Florida were open on 3 October 2026. DHL Express runs its own three-month paid summer programs, but its summer 2027 reqs weren't posted yet. In plain words: you apply during fall 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and for the two open tracks that means now.

Externships are short, remote programs where you finish a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks at 5 to 10 hours a week. The Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy & People Analytics Externship is the closest match to DHL Supply Chain's warehouse operations work, and the Corporate Strategy Externship mentored by Eric Ries builds the strategy casework DHL Consulting looks for. What Is a DHL Internship?

A DHL internship in the US usually means DHL Supply Chain's summer program: a paid 10 to 12 week placement at a warehouse, distribution center or support center, ending with a capstone presentation in Westerville, Ohio. DHL Supply Chain says its Capstone Event brings together "400+ interns & business partners from across North America." Most hires are operations interns, with others in finance, HR, data analytics, engineering, IT and transportation. DHL Express, the parcel and express business, and DHL Consulting, DHL Group's in-house consultancy since 1999, run their own separate programs. All three belong to DHL Group, which its consulting req says has over 590,000 employees.

When Do DHL Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

DHL Supply Chain posted its pooled US "Intern" req on 6 August 2026 and DHL Consulting its 2027 Visiting Consultant req on 19 August, about 9.5 to 10 months before a June start. DHL Consulting's earlier cycles fit the same pattern: Wayback captured its summer 2024 posting in September 2023. Students describe DHL Supply Chain final rounds during fall midterms and again in February, with offers being weighed by mid-November. DHL Express hasn't published its timing, so we don't project a window for it.

Now · October 2026YOU ARE HEREROLLING — APPLY WEEK 1

Applications for summer 2027 are open right now at DHL Supply Chain and DHL Consulting. DHL Supply Chain's Apprentice program for second-year students is open too. DHL Express's summer 2027 program isn't posted yet.

Apply first, then build proof to talk about in your Intern Day presentation: the Amazon Fulfillment Center Operational Strategy Externship for operations roles, or the Corporate Strategy Externship mentored by Eric Ries for DHL Consulting.
October–December 2026

Campus fairs, virtual interviews with a recruiter or business leader, and in-person Intern Days at DHL Supply Chain sites. Students report offers being weighed by mid-November.

January–March 2027EXPECTED

Expected: later DHL Supply Chain final rounds and Intern Days, as students reported in February of past cycles. DHL Consulting keeps recruiting on demand; its process can take as little as six to eight weeks.

Spring 2027EXPECTED

Watch for DHL Express summer program reqs on the DHL Group board and Handshake; we couldn't recover their past posting dates. Remaining offers close out.

Summer 2027

DHL Supply Chain interns spend 10 to 12 weeks on site, work 2 to 4 hours a week on a group capstone, and present it at the Westerville event. All are evaluated for full-time roles.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Both open tracks review on a rolling basis. DHL Consulting's FAQ says "there is no deadline" and that it recruits in the US on a demand basis, so seats go to whoever is ready when a project needs people. DHL Supply Chain uses one pooled national req plus school job boards and holds Intern Days through the fall; one student described weighing a DHL offer against Amazon by mid-November 2024. Neither req shows a closing date, which means there's no last-minute warning. Apply in October, and if your school runs a DHL information session or career fair, go.

Which DHL Internship Programs Should You Target?

Each DHL business hires separately. These are the US student tracks as of 3 October 2026.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Requirements differ by DHL business.

• DHL Supply Chain Intern: "a current 3rd or 4th-year university/college student enrolled in a 4-year degree program."

• DHL Supply Chain Apprentice: a current second-year student; apprentices are considered for intern roles when the program ends.

• DHL Consulting: at least six months of relevant practical experience; English required; submit academic records with GPA and GMAT or GRE scores if you have them; you must stay enrolled throughout the internship.

• Location: Supply Chain interns can be placed at any US warehouse or distribution center or at the Westerville HQ; DHL Consulting requires relocating to South Florida.

• Work authorization and GPA floor: not stated on any of the US reqs we read.

Is There a GPA Cutoff?

No published one. DHL Supply Chain's req lists only class year, and DHL Consulting asks for your GPA and test scores without setting a minimum. In practice DHL Supply Chain weighs your interviews and the presentation you give at an Intern Day more heavily, so prepare that well. Because no req addresses sponsorship, international students should ask the recruiter early.

What Skills Does DHL Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

DHL's open US reqs name soft skills more than tools. Communication, presentation and problem-solving appear in three of the four, because every track ends with you presenting to leaders. Data analysis shows up in the Supply Chain and Consulting reqs: "analyze data, identify opportunities for improvement". Students in operations systems roles add WMS and SQL, per a 2024 Reddit thread.

Build These Skills Before You Apply

Each row ties a skill from DHL's reqs to a remote Externship with a finished deliverable.

None of these Externships is affiliated with DHL. They're useful because DHL's capstone and Intern Day both ask you to present analysis to leaders, and a finished project gives you practice and material.

What Is the DHL Application and Interview Process Like?

DHL Supply Chain and DHL Express each publish their process; the details below come from those pages and DHL Consulting's FAQ.

1. DHL Supply Chain: apply. Use the TalentReef "Intern" req, a posting on your school's job board, or email your resume to CollegeRecruiting@dhl.com.

2. Virtual interview with a recruiter or business leader.

3. Site interview or Intern Day. Students describe an in-person day at a regional site with tours, networking, several interviews and a short presentation from each candidate; DHL paid their travel.

4. DHL Express: a 15-minute call, a conversation with the hiring manager, live customer calls for telesales roles, then a short presentation to three managers.

5. DHL Consulting: an application with resume, GPA and test scores; the process can take as little as six to eight weeks.

What Students on Reddit Say

Students on r/supplychain mostly compare DHL Supply Chain with Amazon and describe the Intern Day.

A junior weighing DHL against Amazon got near-unanimous advice to pick DHL. A former DHL intern said they practically ran a shift of 20 associates, others pointed to the capstone as easy to quantify on a resume, and one said DHL hires almost all of its interns.

One applicant dropped out because the in-person final round meant a three-hour trip during midterms. Another replied that DHL runs the event three times, pays for travel, and that it led to their internship offer.

Commenters stressed that DHL Supply Chain and DHL Express are different companies under the same group: Supply Chain runs B2B warehousing and transportation, while Express handles parcel and mail delivery.

How Do You Stand Out for a DHL Internship?

First, know which DHL you're applying to and say so: recruiters at DHL Supply Chain, DHL Express and DHL Consulting each want to hear why their business. Second, prepare a short presentation before your Intern Day. Both DHL Supply Chain and DHL Express finals include one, and the capstone makes presenting the core of the internship. Third, bring operations evidence, such as a shift you led, a process you sped up or a dataset you cleaned. DHL Supply Chain says all interns are evaluated for a full-time role but doesn't publish a conversion rate or applicant numbers.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2026 DHL internship?

No. DHL's summer 2026 internships have finished, and their capstone event took place at the end of that summer. What's open now is summer 2027: DHL Supply Chain's US intern req, posted 6 August 2026, and DHL Consulting's 2027 Visiting Consultant role, posted 19 August 2026. DHL Express hasn't posted its summer 2027 program yet.

When do DHL summer 2027 internship applications open?

Two tracks are already open. DHL Supply Chain posted its pooled US intern req on 6 August 2026 and DHL Consulting its Visiting Consultant role on 19 August 2026. DHL Express hadn't posted summer 2027 reqs by 3 October 2026, and its past timing isn't published, so check its board regularly.

How much do DHL interns make?

DHL Supply Chain's US intern req lists "$24.00 per hour or site dependent". DHL Express says its summer programs are paid but doesn't publish a rate, and DHL Consulting promises an attractive salary package without a figure. Ignore aggregator estimates that cite a DHL intern title not on DHL's own board.

How long is the DHL Supply Chain internship?

Ten to twelve weeks in summer. Interns work at a warehouse, distribution center or support center, join professional development webinars and an executive speaker series, and spend two to four hours a week on a group capstone. They present it at the Capstone Event at the Westerville, Ohio headquarters.

Who can apply for a DHL internship?

DHL Supply Chain's intern req is for third- and fourth-year students in a four-year degree. Second-year students can join the Apprentice program, which feeds the next year's intern hiring. DHL Consulting wants at least six months of relevant practical experience, and its interns must stay enrolled throughout the internship.

What's the difference between DHL Supply Chain and DHL Express internships?

They're separate DHL Group companies with separate job boards. DHL Supply Chain is contract logistics, running warehouses and transportation for business customers, and hires mostly operations interns. DHL Express is international express delivery and runs three-month summer programs in sales, operations, finance, HR and IT.

Does DHL hire interns full-time?

DHL Supply Chain says it wants to hire its interns into full-time roles and evaluates every intern during the summer, with offers based on business need and performance. It doesn't publish a rate. Typical entry roles include operations supervisor, business data analyst, implementation analyst, logistics planner and industrial engineer.

Is there a deadline for DHL internships?

Not a published one for the open tracks. DHL Consulting's FAQ says "there is no deadline", and DHL Supply Chain's req shows no closing date. Both fill seats as they go, and students report DHL Supply Chain offers going out from about November, so applying in October gives you the widest choice.

DHL Supply Chain and DHL Consulting are taking summer 2027 applications now. Apply this month, and if you want a finished project to present at your Intern Day, a remote Externship runs alongside classes at 5 to 10 hours a week.
