Danone North America's own careers site has six student requisitions open today (checked October 25, 2026): five internships and one spring co-op, with pay from $25 an hour at its Utah plant to $1,900 a week for MBA brand management. The Summer Internship Experience runs May 31 to August 6, 2027, and the first 2027 reqs went up September 16, about eight and a half months before the start. Roles come down one at a time: a Product Development intern req posted on September 28 is already gone. In plain words: you apply during 2026, you intern in summer 2027, and at Danone that means now.

A Danone internship is a paid student role at Danone North America, the US business of the French food and beverage group. Danone's own job pages describe about 5,000 US employees and 13 US production locations behind brands such as Activia, Oikos, Silk, International Delight, evian and Happy Family Organics, and call Danone the world's largest B Corp. Its Summer Internship Experience is a 10-week program built around a project tied to your studies, with trainings and development sessions. The 2026 reqs span manufacturing (production, quality, process engineering, plant finance), research and innovation (a packaging co-op) and marketing (an MBA brand management role). Danone's graduate schemes and internships outside the US are separate and outside this guide.

When Do Danone Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Danone posted its 2027 reqs over about four weeks: Production and Quality on September 16, Finance on September 17, the MBA Brand Management role on September 21, Process Engineer on September 29 and the Packaging co-op on October 12, 2026. That puts the first req about eight and a half months before the May 31, 2027 program start, and the co-op about three months before its January 11 start. We couldn't recover Danone's summer 2026 posting dates from its own pages, so this is one observed wave, not a multi-year pattern. Our summer 2028 projection (September to October 2027) rests on that single cycle and is low confidence.

The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

Danone doesn't state a deadline or say it hires on a rolling basis, so we can't tell you a closing date. What the board does show is how small and specific the roles are. Seats per req run from 1 (Production, Quality, Finance, Packaging co-op) to 3 (Process Engineer) and 5 (Brand Management), and each one is tied to a degree. A Product Development Intern req with 2 seats, posted September 28, was no longer on the board by October 25. If your degree fits an open req, apply now rather than waiting for a second wave.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Danone writes eligibility per req, so read the one you're applying to. These come from the six live reqs.

• Finance (West Jordan): currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in accounting, finance, business or a related field.

• Production and Quality (West Jordan): the reqs say junior, senior or recent graduate of an engineering or similar program (Production) or a food science, food microbiology, food chemistry or similar program (Quality).

• Process Engineer (Minster): pursuing a bachelor's in engineering, with mechanical, chemical, industrial or a related field required.

• Brand Management (Louisville or White Plains): currently enrolled in an MBA program with a graduation date in or after May 2028; three or more years of corporate experience preferred.

• Packaging co-op: pursuing a bachelor's in packaging engineering or a related field, with courses such as materials science or food packaging.

• GPA and work authorization: none of the six reqs states a minimum GPA or mentions visa sponsorship.

Can Recent Graduates Apply to the Production and Quality Roles?

The wording suggests yes, but it's ambiguous. Both reqs say "Junior, Senior, or recent graduate of" a qualifying program, while the Finance, Process Engineer and co-op reqs say currently enrolled or pursuing. If you've already graduated, apply to Production or Quality only if your degree fits exactly, and ask the recruiter in your first conversation whether an internship is open to you.

What Skills Does Danone Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Four themes run through the six reqs. Communication and teamwork: all six ask for strong communication, and the plant reqs expect interns to talk with operators at every level. Plant systems: the manufacturing reqs name GMP, food safety, Daily Direction Setting and Danone's Integrated Work Systems, with root-cause tools such as 5-Why and fishbone diagrams in Production. Analysis: Finance asks for data analysis, financial modeling and advanced Excel, and Process Engineer for collecting and interpreting process and equipment data. Brand work: the MBA role covers consumer insight principles, media, promotions, packaging and launches, plus pricing and category analysis.

Danone doesn't publish interview stages for its student roles. Here is what its own pages show:

Danone doesn't publish interview questions. For plant roles expect questions about safety, teamwork on a production floor and why food manufacturing; for the MBA role, expect brand and analytics cases.

How Do You Stand Out for a Danone Internship?

First, match the req to your degree. Danone's reqs are narrow: Quality wants food science, the co-op wants packaging engineering and Brand Management is MBA only, so a clear fit matters more than a broad resume. Second, connect to the product. The reqs ask for interest in the food and consumer packaged goods industry, so name the categories that interest you, such as dairy, plant-based or beverages. Third, show plant-floor and analysis skills in the same breath: the Production, Process Engineer and Finance reqs all combine time on the floor with data, reporting and presentations. Danone doesn't publish applicant counts, class size or an intern conversion rate, so we won't estimate them.
