Last updated: October 2026
The Cleveland Guardians don't run one summer internship. Their business-operations interns are hired for the whole baseball season, about 40 hours a week from March through October, and none is posted today: on 17 October 2026 the Guardians' business-operations board listed four openings and none was an internship. The one internship open now is on the baseball side, and it's for graduate students only: the Athletic Training Internship 2027, posted 1 October 2026, requires enrollment in a CAATE-accredited graduate athletic training program, though recent graduates may be considered. If you're an undergraduate, nothing is open right now. We have only two dated business-operations postings, 29 August 2023 for a January 2024 start and 13 January 2026 for March 2026, and pay isn't published. In plain words: business-operations roles for the 2027 season are expected to post between now and about January 2027, and you'd intern from about March 2027.

Guardians business-operations internships centre on live fan experience, community programs and content, so a finished project gives you something to show. Externships are short, remote programs where you complete a real project for a real company, most commonly over 8 weeks. The Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy Externship fits live-experience and promotion work, and the Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior Externship fits social and fan-audience roles. What Is a Cleveland Guardians Internship?
A Cleveland Guardians internship is a season-long role with the MLB club, hired on one of two boards. Business-operations interns, such as the 2026 Seasonal Intern, Live Experience and the 2024 Intern, Community Impact, work about 40 hours a week at Progressive Field from the start of the season to the end. Baseball-operations interns are different: the Athletic Training Internship 2027 sits in Player Development Medical Services, is open to graduate athletic training students, and is based in Goodyear, Arizona and the Dominican Republic. The club's Sales Development and Business Development programs and its Baseball Technology Fellowship are entry-level programs, not student internships.

When Do Cleveland Guardians Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?
The Guardians post season-long internships when the season's needs are known, not on a fixed date. The 2024 Community Impact internship posted on 29 August 2023 for a January 2024 start, about four months ahead. The 2026 Live Experience internship posted on 13 January 2026 for a March 2026 start, about seven weeks ahead. The Athletic Training Internship 2027 posted on 1 October 2026. Two business-operations data points spread over two to four months of lead time, so treat 2027 timing as expected and low confidence.
The graduate-only Athletic Training Internship is open. No business-operations internship is posted. Undergraduates should join the Business Operations Talent Pool on the UKG board and start watching for roles.
Check the UKG board every few weeks. Don't use the board's "intern" keyword filter: it returned an unrelated security posting. Read the full list instead.
Business-operations internships for the 2027 season are expected to post, with low confidence. The 2024 internship posted in late August and the 2026 one in mid-January, so the range is wide. Apply as soon as a role appears, because no closing dates are printed.
Season-long internships would start. The 2026 Live Experience internship began in March and covered all home games through the end of the season.
Interns work about 40 hours a week through the end of the baseball season, with evenings, weekends and holidays tied to the home schedule. The Athletic Training Internship's term isn't stated in the posting.
How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.
Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open
There is no deadline to point to, because the postings we read print no closing date. What the evidence shows is a short lead time: the 2026 Live Experience internship went up only seven weeks before it started, so a role can appear with little notice. Join the Business Operations Talent Pool and check the UKG board every few weeks, and for the Athletic Training Internship, apply now if you qualify, since it has been open since 1 October with no end date shown.
Which Cleveland Guardians Internship Programs Should You Target?
The Guardians post by department, on two boards. Here are the internships we found and the programs that look like internships but aren't.
| Track | Role | Term | Key skills |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business operations (2026, closed) | Seasonal Intern, Live Experience | March 2026 to season end, about 40 hours a week | Game scripts, load-ins, in-park entertainment logistics |
| Business operations (2024, closed) | Intern, Community Impact | January 2024 to season end, 40 hours a week | Social media, photo and video, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office |
| Baseball operations (open now) | Athletic Training Internship 2027 (graduate students only) | Term not stated | Injury prevention, rehab, electronic medical records, supervised hands-on learning |
| Not an internship | Sales Development Program | Part-time, year-round, 20 to 25 hours a week | Sales, entry level |
| Not an internship | Business Development Program | 11 months, June to April, full-time | Sales, account management, entry level |
| Not an internship | 2027 Baseball Technology Fellowship | Fellowship with minor-league affiliates | SQL, R or Python, baseball statistics |
See the Guardians' development programs page for the two entry-level programs. Game-day seasonal staff, such as Fan Services and Ballpark Runner roles, are also separate jobs.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
Requirements differ by board:
• Athletic Training Internship: currently enrolled in a CAATE-accredited graduate athletic training program. Recent graduates pursuing advanced experience may be considered. Spanish is preferred for Dominican Republic assignments.
• Physical: lift up to 55 lbs, work in extreme heat, and cover evenings and weekends.
• Supervision: interns can't provide treatment, evaluation or medical recommendations independently.
• Business-operations internships (2026 Live Experience): a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience, with 1 to 3 years of related experience preferred and availability for all home games.
• GPA, work authorization and academic credit: not stated in the postings we read.

Can Undergraduates Apply?
Not for the internship that is open now. The Athletic Training Internship is for graduate athletic training students. Undergraduates should watch the business-operations board, where the 2026 Live Experience posting preferred a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and didn't print a student requirement, and the Business Operations Talent Pool, which the Guardians describe as not an application for a specific opening.
What Skills Do the Cleveland Guardians Look For, and How Do You Build Them?
We have three full Guardians internship postings, which is too few for a frequency chart. The 2026 Live Experience role asks for flexibility in a fast-paced live-event setting, strong communication, creative problem-solving and independent work. The 2024 Community Impact role asks for Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 365, social platform experience, photography and videography, and event planning. The Athletic Training Internship asks for communication, teamwork, organization and documentation, and Microsoft Office.
Note: Only three Guardians internship postings were available in full (Live Experience 2026, Community Impact 2024, Athletic Training 2027), which is too few for a skills chart. The 2027 Baseball Technology Fellowship is not an internship and isn't counted.

Build These Skills Before You Apply
Each skill below comes from a Guardians posting and maps to a remote Externship you can finish before the 2027 roles appear.
| Skill (from real JDs) | JD evidence | Externship that builds it |
|---|---|---|
| Live events and fan promotions | Live Experience: sponsorship promotions, pregame ceremonies, fan activations | Beats by Dre Creative Advertising Strategy |
| Social content and fan audiences | Community Impact: capture content for community social accounts; know social platforms by audience | Pinterest Gen Z Consumer Behavior |
| Community programs and outcomes | Community Impact: support community programming for the department and its charities | Center for Improving Youth Justice Data Analytics |
These are adjacent skills. The Live Experience and Community Impact postings also expect in-person availability for home games, so combine any project with event or volunteer experience.
What Is the Cleveland Guardians Application and Interview Process Like?
The Guardians don't publish an interview format. Here is what the boards and postings show:
1. Pick the board. Business operations hires through UKG; baseball operations, including the Athletic Training Internship, hires through Greenhouse.
2. Join the talent pool. The Business Operations Talent Pool on UKG is not an application for a specific job, but it puts you on the club's radar.
3. Read the full list. Don't filter by "intern" on UKG; scan every opening.
4. Confirm the season commitment. Business-operations internships ran about 40 hours a week through the end of the season, so check that you can commit to October.
Interview steps and selection timing aren't published.
What Students on Reddit Say
Reddit has no first-hand account of a Guardians internship. The r/ClevelandGuardians threads we read were about the team, a beat writer and trade talk, so this section has no community cards.
How Do You Stand Out for a Guardians Internship?
Three moves. First, be ready before a role appears. The 2026 Live Experience internship went up only seven weeks before it started, so keep a resume and a work sample ready. Second, speak the department's language: game scripts and in-park promotions for Live Experience, community programs and content for Community Impact. Third, confirm you can commit to the whole season. These roles run about 40 hours a week through October, with weekends and holidays, which is a bigger ask than a ten-week summer internship. The Guardians don't publish an applicant count or a conversion rate.

FAQ
Can I still apply for a summer 2026 Cleveland Guardians internship?
No. The 2026 Seasonal Intern, Live Experience posted on 13 January 2026 for a March start and is no longer on the board, which listed four openings and no internships on 17 October 2026. The open internship, Athletic Training, is for graduate students only, so undergraduates should watch for 2027 roles.
When do Cleveland Guardians internship applications open?
There's no fixed date. The Community Impact internship posted on 29 August 2023 for a January 2024 start, and Live Experience posted on 13 January 2026 for a March 2026 start. Roles for the 2027 season are expected between now and about January 2027, with low confidence.
Is the Cleveland Guardians internship paid?
The postings we read don't say. The UKG records for the Live Experience and Community Impact internships show no pay range, and the Athletic Training posting states no pay, housing or stipend. Third-party pay figures aren't tied to these postings, so we don't repeat them. Ask about pay before accepting.
How many hours do Guardians interns work?
The business-operations internships we read expect about 40 hours a week, from March in 2026 or January in 2024 through the end of the baseball season, including home games, evenings, weekends and holidays. The Athletic Training posting doesn't state hours or a term.
Who can apply for the Guardians Athletic Training Internship?
Graduate students. The posting requires current enrollment in a CAATE-accredited graduate athletic training program, and says recent graduates pursuing advanced experience may be considered. Assignments are in Goodyear, Arizona and the Dominican Republic, and interns can't treat or evaluate players independently.
Are the Sales Development and Business Development programs internships?
No. The Guardians describe the Sales Development Program as part-time, year-round work of 20 to 25 hours a week, and the Business Development Program as an 11-month full-time program from June to April. Both are entry-level programs, and the Baseball Technology Fellowship is also not an internship.
Where do I apply for a Guardians internship?
On one of two boards, both linked from the Guardians' development programs page. Business operations hires through a UKG job board, and baseball operations, including the Athletic Training Internship, hires through Greenhouse. Join the Business Operations Talent Pool on UKG to get on the radar.
Do Cleveland Guardians interns get full-time offers?
The Guardians don't publish a conversion rate for interns. Their Business Development Program page says participants can interview for open account executive and service roles near the end of that program, but that's a separate entry-level program. Ask about openings during your internship.
No Guardians business-operations internship is open yet, and the open Athletic Training role is graduate-only. Use the wait to build a finished project, and if you want one, a remote Externship takes about 5 to 10 hours a week.
