Last updated: October 2026

Clearsight Advisors hires its summer analysts as college sophomores, about 18 months before they start. The firm's careers page says it has finished recruiting for the 2027 Summer Analyst Program and will review "applications from sophomore candidates for our 2028 Summer Analyst Program from December 1st, 2026 through January 10th, 2027." In plain words: you apply in December 2026 as a sophomore, you intern in summer 2028.

Nothing is open today. On October 12, 2026 the same page read "No Open Positions," and Clearsight has no job board to watch. Students at five schools apply through their own career portals, and everyone else emails a resume. One related listing is live: a one-day job-shadow visit for University of Virginia second-years on January 8, 2027, which Clearsight calls a "One Day Externship." It isn't an internship.

What Is a Clearsight Advisors Internship?

A Clearsight Advisors internship is a summer analyst role in investment banking at Clearsight Advisors, a mergers and acquisitions boutique in McLean, Virginia. The firm was founded in 2011, has about 45 people according to Vault, and has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Regions Financial since December 31, 2021. It recruits separately from Regions. Clearsight describes itself as "the largest investment bank exclusively focused on the business services and technology-enabled services industry," and its 2025 year in review counts 20 transactions signed that year and more than 170 in its history. Vault ranks the firm #10 on its Banking 25 for 2026 and writes that "Interns get access to hands-on experience, live deals, mentoring, and client exposure." A former summer analyst on Handshake put it this way: after a week of training, the class "was staffed on live deal teams." Clearsight doesn't publish pay, class size or a return-offer rate.

When Do Clearsight Advisors Internship Applications Open for 2027–2028?

Clearsight changed its calendar one cycle ago. Through the summer 2026 class it recruited in the fall of junior year, about 9 months ahead. Starting with the summer 2027 class it moved to sophomore-year recruiting: an archived copy of its careers page said applications for the 2027 Summer Analyst Program would open on school portals "starting December 1, 2025," and by late January 2026 the page said they were closed. That class got a second look: in June 2026 the page read "We will be reviewing resumes for our 2027 Summer Analyst Program in August," about 10 months before the start. The current page repeats the December pattern for summer 2028: December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027, about 18 months before the internship starts. Two cycles with the same December 1 start make it likely that applications for summer 2029 open around December 1, 2027. A second review for summer 2028 around August 2027 is possible, but the firm hasn't announced one.

Applications for summer 2028 aren't open yet, and the summer 2027 class is complete. University of Virginia second-years can apply for the January 8, 2027 job-shadow day; the UVA listing opened September 25, 2026 and expires October 25, 2026. Everyone else: use October and November to prepare a one-page resume and one story for each of the firm's six values.

This is the window to build something for a sophomore resume. The Yinan Zhao Investing & Financial Modeling Externship or the HP Tech Ventures Deal Sourcing & Startup Analysis Externship gives you a real project to name when you apply.
December 1, 2026 to January 10, 2027HARD DEADLINE

Applications for the summer 2028 Summer Analyst Program are reviewed in this window only, per the firm's careers page. It runs across finals and winter break, and the last day is January 10, 2027.

A possible second resume review for summer 2028. Low confidence: the firm reviewed resumes for its summer 2027 class in August 2026, but that's one observation and nothing has been announced for this cycle.

How to read this page: our dates come from tracking previous recruiting cycles and daily posting data. Treat them as informed estimates based on historical patterns, not confirmed dates. The company's official careers page is always the most current source. If a role is posted there, go by that, even if this page suggests the window hasn't opened yet.

Why You Must Apply the Week Applications Open

For Clearsight the risk isn't being a few days late to a rolling process. It's missing a fixed window completely. The firm's page gives a start and an end: December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027. That's 41 days, and they fall across final exams and winter break, when a sophomore is least likely to be checking career portals. There's no job board and no posting, so no alert will remind you. We found no evidence that applying on December 1 beats applying on January 5. Still, the firm warns that "we may not be able to respond to all submissions," so submit a finished application early in the window. If you miss it, there may be one more chance: last cycle the firm reviewed further resumes for its summer 2027 class in August 2026. It hasn't promised to do that again, so don't plan around it.

Which Clearsight Advisors Internship Programs Should You Target?

Clearsight runs one internship. The other student listings are a job-shadow day and full-time analyst hiring.

The careers page is the only official source. The UVA Career Center listing describes the job-shadow day: an overview of the firm and its recruiting process, lunch, and time shadowing an analyst.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

Clearsight publishes few formal requirements. These come from its careers page:

• Class year: sophomores at the time of application. For the 2028 Summer Analyst Program that's the class of 2029.

• Schools: dedicated portals at the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, Penn, William & Mary and UT Austin. Students elsewhere can email a resume.

• Work authorization: "We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa, including STEM/OPT students."

• GPA and major: not published. The UVA job-shadow listing is addressed to students "interested in finance and investment banking."

• Traits: the careers page says the firm looks for "intellectual curiosity, grit, and determination."

Can You Apply If You're Not at One of the Five Schools?

Yes. The careers page says students who don't attend one of the five schools should send a resume to the firm's careers address to be considered for the 2028 Summer Analyst Program. Be realistic about it, though. The same paragraph says the firm "may not be able to respond to all submissions," and the interview accounts we found mention Handshake outreach and core-school candidates. If you're applying by email, a referral or a conversation with an alum will help more than a cold resume.

What Skills Does Clearsight Advisors Look For, and How Do You Build Them?

Clearsight posts no internship job description, so there's no official skills list. Candidate reports on Wall Street Oasis (community-reported) and the firm's own pages point to three areas. Accounting basics: candidates were asked how depreciation affects the three financial statements, and how a $10 change in one income statement line flows through. Valuation: reported questions include how to value a company that only has revenue. Fit with the firm's values: candidates say five of six superday interviews are behavioral, and one says each is themed on a firm value. The about page lists six, among them integrity, teamwork and intellectual curiosity, and adds that the firm's culture "will not appeal to everyone." Knowing the niche matters too: business services and technology-enabled services.

Note: No skills chart on this page: Clearsight Advisors publishes no internship job description (its careers page showed "No Open Positions" on October 12, 2026), so there's no posting to count. The skills above come from dated candidate interview reports and the firm's own values page.

What Is the Clearsight Advisors Application and Interview Process Like?

Clearsight describes only the application step. The interview stages below come from Wall Street Oasis reports and Vault's survey, so treat them as community-reported.

1. Apply inside the window. December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027 for summer 2028, by school portal or by emailing a resume.

2. First round. Candidates describe a two-on-one interview, in person for students at the firm's core schools, mostly behavioral.

3. Superday in McLean. Reports describe six back-to-back interviews of about 30 minutes, five behavioral and one technical. One candidate in February 2026 was invited within 48 hours of the first round.

4. Decision. Most reports put the whole process at under a month. A Vault survey respondent says "The callback process is all within a week."

Because the superday is mostly behavioral, our behavioral interview guide is the right prep, alongside the superday interview guide.

What Candidates and Interns Say on Wall Street Oasis and Handshake

Reddit has no discussion of Clearsight's internship, so these cards use dated first-hand reports from Wall Street Oasis and Handshake.

A summer analyst candidate in McLean described an in-person two-on-one first round, a superday invitation less than 48 hours later, and six two-on-one interviews that were mostly behavioral. The hardest question was a $10 change in an income statement line. They accepted an offer.

How Do You Stand Out for a Clearsight Advisors Internship?

Three moves. First, treat the window as the test. Put December 1, 2026 in your calendar now, and if your school isn't one of the five, send your resume by email inside the same dates. Second, prepare one story per value. Candidates say most superday interviews are behavioral, and a community member on Wall Street Oasis calls the process "lighter on technicals, very focused on culture and fit." Expect questions about your personal history, too. Third, know the niche. Clearsight only advises business services and technology-enabled services companies, so read a few deal announcements on its site and be ready to say why that sector interests you. University of Virginia second-years have one more option: the January 8, 2027 job-shadow day includes an overview of the recruiting process. Clearsight publishes no applicant count, class size or conversion rate, and the whole firm is about 45 people.

FAQ

Can I still apply for a summer 2027 Clearsight Advisors internship?

No. Clearsight's careers page says it has completed its recruiting cycle for the 2027 Summer Analyst Program. That class was recruited in a sophomore window from December 1, 2025 and a second resume review in August 2026. The next opportunity is the 2028 Summer Analyst Program, with applications reviewed December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027.

When do Clearsight Advisors internship applications open for summer 2028?

December 1, 2026. The firm's careers page says it will review applications from sophomore candidates for the 2028 Summer Analyst Program from December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027, about 18 months before the internship starts. The previous cycle also opened on December 1, so summer 2029 applications are expected around December 1, 2027.

Does Clearsight Advisors accept applications on a rolling basis?

No. Clearsight states a fixed window for the 2028 Summer Analyst Program, December 1, 2026 through January 10, 2027. Last cycle it also reviewed late resumes in August 2026 for its summer 2027 class, but it hasn't said it will repeat that. Apply inside the December window, because there's no job board or alert to remind you.

Which schools does Clearsight Advisors recruit from?

Five schools have their own application route: the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt and the University of Pennsylvania through Handshake, William & Mary through Tribe Careers, and UT Austin through RecruitMcCombs. Students at other schools can email a resume to the firm's careers address, though Clearsight says it may not respond to every submission.

Does Clearsight Advisors sponsor visas for interns?

No. The careers page says, "We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa, including STEM/OPT students." That applies to the Summer Analyst Program as well as full-time roles, so international students who need sponsorship now or later should plan around firms that state a different policy.

How much do Clearsight Advisors summer analysts make?

Clearsight doesn't publish summer analyst pay. The firm posts no requisition and no pay range, and Vault's profile gives no figure. We don't print estimates from salary sites, which mix in full-time data. Ask about compensation once you're in the interview process, where the firm can give you its current number.

What is the Clearsight Advisors interview process like?

Candidates on Wall Street Oasis describe a two-on-one first round and then an in-person superday in McLean with six interviews, five behavioral and one technical. Technical questions cover accounting basics, such as depreciation through the three statements. Most reports say the process takes under a month. These accounts are community-reported, not official.

What is the Clearsight One Day Externship?

It's a job-shadow day, not an internship. Clearsight invites University of Virginia second-years to its McLean office on January 8, 2027 for an overview of the firm and its recruiting process, lunch, and time shadowing an analyst. It has no connection to Extern's Externships, which are remote, multi-week projects with other companies.

Clearsight's summer 2028 window opens December 1, 2026 and closes January 10, 2027. Mark the dates, and use the weeks before to add a project to a sophomore resume: a remote Externship from Extern gives you finished finance or company-analysis work to point to.
